Day 3 of our mega trip and today was the day to hit the logging trail and some extras of course! After finishing those we wandered in the general direction of our home for the weekend, caching along here.I was first to GZ and was a bit worried about what I might need to touch to find this one. Neednt have been concerned as I soon spied the nicely hidden container. Thanks for the cache. Signed SEAC (South East Auckland Crew)
The last along this road...slowly working our way back to Dunedin for dinner. In Dunedin for Geo Toroa (Mega) with a team of cachers from South, East Auckland (SEAC), NZTravellers, KeyLev, HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, and myself. This is our usual annual caching trip where we usually travel to a Mega (in NZ thus far) and/or cache the area, or select an area most of us haven't been caching before, to gain maximum numbers for all. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining caches in some stunning locations that we may not have visited had it not been for geocaching.Signed in as SEAC to save logbook space unless specifically required to sign individually.TFTC.
Here for the 2024 Mega with a group from Auckland. Sorry for the generic logs. Thank you to all the cache owners who placed the caches to support my addiction. Most logs signed as SEAC.
Team SEAC consisting of HeMaLuDy, Stik-a-crane, UncleSam, Keylev and ourselves headed to Dunedin for the 2024 MEGA!All logs were signed as SEAC to save paper (except where specific signing requirements were requested)Third day of our Mega weekend. The weather although wet wasn't as cold as yesterday. Thanks to all the CO's who had maintained the caches as we found a majority with fresh paper and containers!Keylev found in very long grass
We are in Dunedin for the Mega and this is day 3 of our trip. We planned to get numbers today so headed to the series down this way and then cached our way back to Dunedin. All logs signed with SEAC (South East Auckland Crew) {unless otherwise required in the cache} as there are 5 caching names in the group; stik-a-crane, unclesam, NZTravellers, Keylev and us. A lot of fun was had, lots of laugh and memories made with friends. TFTC
??? Parking ??? was wonderful. It made finding this cache really enjoyable. It took a while to spot. This time I spotted it. The pen worked fine on the paper.
A few days away caching with Nosynel. We both looked hard for this one until the gps settled then NN spotted it. Thanks for the cache.#9932
I managed to find this one before MacBayMeri, as she was looking round the other side. Logpaper is damp. TFTC.
Certainly lots of parking around here, and no muggles about. It was damp underfoot, as there had been a bit of rain, but not enough to put us off searching. I was a bit hesitant in my search, as I was worried about damaging either the hidden metal object or myself. But MrMagoo72's instincts were spot on and he found the item that the cache was tethered to, and a glint caught our eye - almost in plain view, where we didn't see it! Then we had the cache in hand and signed the log. The Rite in Rain paper was damp (no longer an O ring on the bison), so we had trouble signing the paper, but made our marks. TFTC.
Went for a drive this morning to drop off a TB at the Dunedin Airport TB Hotel and decided to find a few caches not too far off my route home. Beaten path through the long grass to GZ was visible and made it easy for me to get down to this one. Tftc.
Really enjoying this wee track. Sure wonder what the object may have been. Thanks for bringing us here and the cache Hall-way.
We found the cache which was no longer tethered so we tied it on again. Last person to log it before us was Kiscardi.
The coordinates are about 4m out.

Had time today to pick up some of the caches that I have not found on previous road trips to Dunedin. Good to collect this smiley face as I had previously found the other caches on this little side road.
Just got in before it started pouring. Also my 100th cache so deserves a favourite on that alone but a good find anyway tftc
A nice quick find at the turn-around. Thanks for placing your cache.
Time for another road trip for Ms_KR and KR, so we headed south toward Otago. We cruised from Lake Waihola to home. Via one or 2 caches!. A lovely day, and the traffic was pretty good too.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Found with indiboo. Log was quite wet but write in the rain paper is great, isn’t it?

Log book wet managed to log had to clear over grown grass away but once spotted was very obvious
Took a bit of looking but did finally find it, take care when looking, grass has grown some what and there is hidden steel that may cause injury
A drive after work to get this one. Been here before, but not to this old object - wonder what it was in a previous life?
*Found on a nice day going from cache to cache with woolwood9.*
We soon had the container located. SL: **tm/ww NZ**
Thanks for putting this out for us to visit!

Followed the caching trial to the large object then had to do some searching. Bit of tricky one to spot but noticed it eventually. TFTC
Out and about on a beautiful Saturday morning in an attempt to fill a dot day and keep abreast of our year-to-date total finds. Want sure just how I would find this one but turned around and there it was.
Beautifully still river with rowing fours and sculls training on it.

Well that was a story. Heading to Balclutha to see the grand daughter marching.. she also turns 11 on the same day. Traffic was horrible just south of Dunedin ... you know the story here 70 80 92 70 80 92 kmh groan . so there has to be an unfound cache close by as indeed there was. Of course having just washed my car last night !!! I was surprised to see a gravel road . Got to GZ saw the hint object found the buried pieces of that rusty hint object, thinking heres a trip to get a tetnus shot, but i escaped uninjured.... okey dokey ... the traffic would of cleared now so its off onto the wild blue yonder.... TFTC a fav for being exactly where i needed it to be
Yippee another cache on the Riverside road to return for wiping the Strath Taieri clean of it's green dots. No.1 took a tiki tour turning off at another road to see a bit more of the area before crossing the bridge at the fishing village. No tractors today and no cows hanging around sticking their noses into other peoples business. Good turn around for the truck. I kinda got lost in the 6ft Cocksfoot at the GZ so inched my way around the hazards at the GZ. A good hint had the cache in hand to SL with pen. Last finder stuffed the slip way down in cache so pinky put to work retrieving. No whiners here, the RITR logslip was a wee bit wet but could be signed after a wipe dry. TFTC Hall-way.
The long, long, long grass meant the hint object was well hidden until I almost literally fell on top of it, once I had righted myself was able to locate the cache ...... and re-exited via my substantial geotrail. TFTC #389
I thought this was going to be more of a challenge than it turned out to be. Thanks.
Heading south today I made the minor detour to grab this cache. I hadn't read the details and when I saw the metal object I thought to myself that I might be here for a while. Turned out to be a quick find.
Found on 7/10/2019.
It's school holidays again, time to grab a few caches if the mood takes me...
Lots of whitebaiters in residence along the road today.

Out and about this afternoon so this cache was settled on as a find for the day. Found relatively quickly with no one around, this spot must go pretty close to going under water when the Tier floods! TFTC [^]
Initially we took a dubious route in and looked in the wrong place, but after reading the cache description properly, and having found the easy route in and out, it was then a quick easy find. We noted a few people whitebaiting along the way. TFTC
Surprisingly not too wet underfoot considering the rain had in the last few days. Quick find tftc
I see Granville came down this road again. Amazing what we do for a cache, last time we almost fell off a newly graded road - took two vehicles and a bit of physics to bring it safely back on to solid gravel, with only a couple of scratches to commemorate the moment. Part of the lore of Southland Geocachers travel.
This cache, much easier to get hold of with no drama. Tftc find 4501 and smiley

Heading up to Cromwell for a few days. So I had the day to get there and a good time to grab a few caches that I don't normally have time to get. So TFTC
Very picturesque down here at the end of the road today - the river was like a mill pond and looked a bit more like a lake. Checked the obvious spot and then another likely spot before spying it. TFTC 3 13,918
All quiet here today, just me and the grazing locals. Nice quick find in a calm winter's day. TFTC
A bit of a detour over here after walking part of the Millennium Track in Taieri Mouth. Didn't take long to find this one altho I did fall in a hole getting there! TFTC
Nice fresh morning to pop out here. Lots of eyes on me but none to worry about. Surprised to find this road in better nick than the sealed road coming in. I know this area is popular with fishermen, but not very relaxing with SH1 so close. Thanks for the outing
2TF. A nice fresh morning to be out and about on the bike. Looking at the avatar of Loosenz, who was the FTF, I am reminded of the person I saw walking/running away from GZ on Riverbank Road with two dogs as I rode to the cache. I wonder if that was them? A car was parked at GZ but no-one around. I also had the "eyes" on me that Loosenz speaks of. My pen smeared on the logsheet. I'm the red smudge at number two on the logsheet if anyone is wondering! I recall the earlier caches along this road, about two or three years ago (?), but I remember doing them on a nice, warm morning that was nothing like today. TFTC.
