Logs
Hunby had to drop the bike off to otaki for some work so I followed in the car and then we grabbed some caches before heading home, thanks for the placement, so lucky with lovely weather.
Plenty of surfers today! Fortunately all focusing on the surf. Trust your gorse-avoidant instincts.
Haven't been out this way before. Lovely view. I kept urging my husband to keep walking.. Worth it for the smurfy find. TFTC
Found by my muggle friend (they are in training) as I was looking in the wrong bush, TFTC
My first stop on my way out. Because I just started my trip I didn't want to spend too long here. A quick search around the obvious hint objects didn't reveal anything. The next step would have been to expand my search or dig into the gorse (which probably would have been the right thing to do according to previous logs), but I wasn't keen to do that just yet so I abandoned my search.
Nice walk on an overcast day with lots of bikes whizzing by. Thanks for giving us a reason to come out here today! TFTC
Out for a walk on Wellington Anniversary. Make sure you have a few sticks to push the gorse away.
Took a school holiday walk out to Pencarrow Lighthouse. I got some great photos, caches and sunburn for my troubles.
This was my first cache find in a while, and was fairly quick once I located the area. Good to see the smurf survives inside. Tftc!

Staying in Maungaraki with Mrs SoBad's sister, all three of us we keen to see how the area looked after various weather events. The road was fine and few examples of slips. We parked and walked along the track which was reasonably busy with cyclists. While Mrs SoBad was working out roughly where we needed to go her sister was following a geotrail. Cache was found by her when the hint was read.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Finally there was a long gap between the rain so we went for a walk in Eastbourne and had a go at this cache that we couldn't find last week because it got too dark!
Very easy find!
We forgot a pen in the car so hopefully the photo of the log book with the last log and the container will be ok
TFTC!

First few hundred metres of this road is now just a beach walk over large gravel. Searched a couple of hint objects on the way out, then deferred it for the return leg — when satnav pointed me to some new options, one secreting a cache. Wasn’t expecting this CO’s name after seeing the container and lack of scientific name in the hint Thanks GSEL!
A lovely sunny day for a geocaching mountain bike jaunt around these tracks today. Slightly windy! Too busy for us to look on our way out, so we left it to our return, when we had the place to ourselves and made a quick find. Cache is all good. TFTC
Found it and the priceless that was protecting the cache from humans.
Also got to meet Billy (the goat) and his girlfriend

Until I referred back to my logs, I couldn't remember the last time I went out to get a physical cache (turns out it was just over a month ago). Not wanting to waste the day and wanting to try and break my new boots in before the Auckland Mega (see my log on GCBE48 - View's Sweet As! to discover why I needed new boots), I headed out for a short walk to a cache. I was able to find a spot to park next to Burdan's Gate and made my way along. Plenty of people out and about either walking or cycling.
Reached GZ and spotted a likely location. A bit of gorse about, but only ankle-biting. Found the cache quickly and felt the old familiar feeling of opening a cache and signing the log. Took in the surrounds and then headed back. All good here, and TFTC

Nice morning for a walk round here.
Getting a bit tricky to navigate round the gorse and this is likely to increase as it grows.
I was interpreting the last part of the hint a bit too literally, but was soon in the right place thanks to good accurate coordinates.

Beautiful day to be out on this pathway. Found on a walk with some friends and their puppy Thanks for the hide!
I was looking around for an unfound cache that would get me the very last solar system wonder - for whatever that's worth - and this provided an excuse to go for drive around the eastern bays. Being only 1km or so from the gate meant a walk of just 10 minutes or thereabouts and sure enough I was at GZ in no time. A fair few muggles about meant standing around for a bit letting cache sense do the initial work. I spotted the likely place and there it was - sort of. I only saw a smurf and a lid which was enough to know I was looking at some kind of muggling. But with more carfeful scene examination I spotted the container further back - and a log book not far from that! I then saw an inner container too but not its lid. I couldn't directly reach any of those items but a convenient stick enabled me to retrieve the container and the log. I could not retrieve the inner container though although I also tried without success to access it from the other side. However without its lid it would have served no purpose so I figured that was enough to consider it de-muggled. How the log has stayed dry just sitting on the ground is a complete mystery but I duly signed that before reassembling the recovered parts. Someone found one of my caches in a similar state and recovered enough to "rescue" the cache which makes me wonder how these things happen. TFTC.
I was in Wellington today to check out the evening celebrations for Chinese New Year. However, before we got to that bit, my muggle friend and I had decided to take a stroll along the pathway towards Pencarrow Head. Neither of us had ever been here before so it was an opportunity to experience somewhere new.
The cache itself was a fairly straightforward find. There were a few hint items to choose from, but I located the cache in the first one I searched. Finding nothing wrong with either cache or logsheet, everything was replaced as found after signing.
Thanks for placing this cache.

My companions second ever cache. Forgot to bring a pen
I moved the cache slightly further out of the way as all of the empty bottles suggested by thoughtful people are in the area a lot

Out for a bike ride so a good opportunity to clean up a few caches that have appeared since I was last out this way.
ALl good here - managed to find in shorts and sandals without too much grief from the gorse.

Ouch!!!! Found among non hospitable environment - then accidentally sat plumb in the middle of some close by. Bottom of container was missing but smurf keeping guard! Grimaced thanks
Found out with TharntheHalken on Xmas afternoon. A good find on a very pleasant evening. Tftc!
Nice to find this today after somehow missing it last time out this way. Cache in good order. Tftc
Found with woolwood9 today.
We enjoyed the walk to this cache even though the wind was very strong.
Good themed container, SL tm/ww NZ

After spending an increidbly long time at my previous cache site in an unsuccessful search, I headed here in the hope of regaining some confidence. After taking a moment to check out the identity parade, I spotted a likely suspect and very quickly found what I was after.
This afternoon my wife and I decided to get outside for a walk and decided to try this walkway out. Great views. Once at GZ I made a nice quick find. Loved the theme of this one. The cache is in good condition and is holding up well. Thanks for taking the time to set up this cache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC
A quick find on a blustery day out here, had to dodge some big trucks coming back and forth on the road carrying ?gravel. All in order at GZ, thanks for the find out here.
First cache on a bike ride with DaVinciHunter on a stunning Saturday. What a stunning piece of coast. TFTC.
Taking the new bike out for a ride to the Pencarrow Lighthouses with Kyb3r. A nice easy find towards the start of our trip.
#11,523. We enjoyed a good little walk along Pencarrow Coast Road in Pencarrow Head, Lower Hutt. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Set out for a cycle ride from Eastbourne to Baring Head with the aim of finding the caches on the sea-side part of the route. This one was a relatively quick search, and fun find! Thanks!
Another very windy location here today. A quick find and sign, then back into the headwind to the car. Cheers!
Quick find of an interesting theme, while biking home from a HVTC trip to Baring Head.
Cold and getting windy.

Got within a few metres but the place was like" Brighton on bank holiday" Next time.... maybe midweek
Had a couple of hours to kill so headed out to the Baring Head lighthouse compound. A reall mission getting out there due to the strong Southerly wind but a rapid return trip.
Nice quick find thanks to the hit and accurate coords.

Found on a cycle ride to Baring Head on a beautiful Lower Hutt day, full sun, a light northerly out and a light southerly back. TFTC.
Found on the way home from a bike trip to the two K lakes I see some of the usual suspects have been here before TFTC
Went for a late afternoon stroll after work. Very pleasant. No worries finding the cache. A Milfy cache I was Stoked to find it. TFTC
(# 5132). Since it was such a nice day that it would have been remiss of me to go for a walk in the sun and go for this one. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
A perfect fine day with light winds - just right for getting a bit of exercise on my bike. Stopped here on the way to Pencarrow Head. As is usual with GSEL’s caches, the coordinates were dead accurate for me and I found the cache within seconds in the first place checked. Signed log, TFTC
#894. Saw this one published yesterday, but unable to make the pilgrimage around the coast until today. Quite a windy afternoon, but not too cold as long as you had a couple of layers on. And a beanie!
Quite a few cyclists and dog walkers on the track, but none took any notice of me and GB Leader scrabbling around the gorse bushes close to GZ. (Note to barefootguru - you may need shoes, or send Denomynator into the fray!). Found after quick search, Second Day find.
Nice to see the little smurf, especially after meeting gracie7 + Mum on their home turf of the West Coast at my Event last week. I have previously found some of her Smurf series in North Canterbury. Looking forward to seeing some more Smurfs pop up around here soon. Yes, saw Smiling Smurf, already found by Yeetrees.

OK. I was just thinking about winding down, having a shower and going to bed when the phone rang, with Ethness making me an offer I couldn't refuse...
So I found 'the Beast' (my massive torch) and pulled a woolly hat and my old skiing coat out of the cupboard, and was at the end of the driveway when she pulled up and we were on our way over to Eastbourne and beyond...
After a short (and relatively pleasant) stroll, we arrived at GZ, By this time we knew that the FTF had eluded us, but who cares? Even in the dark, this was a quick find with a good torch. Signed, photographed, and returned where I found it. TFTC.

[FTF] @ 21:15 - Pretty windy out here tonight, and very dark, which just adds to the fun. It's so good when there's nothing to do on a Saturday night and then suddenly a new cache is published. Once I arrived, a short search of the many possibilities soon revealed the prize, all safe and dry. TFTC
Ring, ring.
“Do you feel like being nutty?”
“Where?” replied Infoferret
“Eastbourne and it is 53 mins since I got the email.”
“Huhugrub will have it.”
“No, they’re still in Canada.”
“Ok. You pick me up.”
“On my way!”

What else do you do on a Saturday night???
