Found with goldielover after doing the 3Capes hike. We moved up the road to a little town Orford. A nice place to visit and a great base camp for the two days it took to complete. This has to be the best power trail I have ever done. The amount of work you and some helpers have put into these is a credit to you all. I think this is the first power trail I have done also, with a 100percent find rate. All your co-ords were perfect and you had us going on a few of the trickier hides. We were stunned at the quality of most of them as well. If I had more favourite points to give, I would have. If these had been stand-alone caches, I am certain you would have more favourite points in the bag. When goldielover solved these back in Brisbane it was our intention to quickly grab them and accumulate a few badly needed favourite points. This trail is not how it worked out. I have finished with less than I started. It is a real pity I can't remember exactly each of your caches individually but i have given favourite points along the way.Sorry for the generic log. I have a hundred or so to do.Once again, thanks heaps for your great series. It has been a real pleasure to complete.TFTC
Find# 11978Nice quick find.Cache is in great condition. TFTC The Snake Charmers 10 September 2024
Big thanks to The Snake Charmers for creating the TTSS series! Your effort brought an extra spark of excitement to our geocaching quest. This discovery was find number 1260 for us, marking another memorable moment in our adventure. Living and traveling full-time across Australia in our Toyota Coaster, we're always on the lookout for caches to uncover. To see more of our travels, feel free to follow our journey here https://linktr.ee/SalandAnth
Today we headed out to complete more of the TTSS series. I thought the first few we had done were pretty good but then was blown away by some of todays hides. Brilliant, what a power trail and what a lot of effort, time and money youve put into this series. World class. We completed around 40 today leaving us with a big day for tomorrow. Fingers crossed the grading work doesnt interfere with finding tomorrow. Found some epic hides today which if there were such a thing as a golden FP they would be super worthy. I think I found a top 5 ever find today it was that good.We had a super day, lovely picnic lunch along the way. Husband hates power trails but even he enjoyed this one, maybe not the blood sucker that attached itself to him found before his shower tonight .Id messed up one lot of coordinates but luckily our perch on the hill for lunch we got 2 bar of 4G so I could fix that one up and make the find, yay. We found everything we looked for today which was a massive bonus.Big thanks to the COs for this stupendous series. Giving out FP here and there for the series as well as for all the fantastic ones TFTC how did I miss that on the first pass
TFTC. Over the past two days I have been working my way through the snake series. I had a couple of DNF's and a couple of incorrect co-ordinates and I believe one or two missing caches. The weather was beautiful although cold. All caches were incredibly well constructed and it must have taken considerable time and many visits to get this all set up for our enjoyment. This is the generic part of the log, for some I have added a bit more detail. Thanks you Stainless-steel-rat and gooseandegg, and anyone else who assist you have excelled. I have never driven this road before.
This was our last one for the day. Didnt end up doing as many as I had hoped. Just another trip of many to work towards finishing this cool series!!Thanks for the cache!Swapped some more swag and got a little tennis ball for (the cache) Hunter. He was pretty happy with that!TFTC.
My second day to hopefully clean up this series. Another early start as its supposed to be getting pretty warm today and I dont want to bump into any sunbathing wiggly stick TFTC The Snake CharmersKeep smiling
Second day tackling TTSS, bit cooler today and starting from the south.Probably one of the bigger guard rail caches I've found. Tftc
Taking some time off to explore more of the apple isle with RoamingHowie. Day Four: Orford, Triabunna, TTSS series and various caches & AdLabs along the way.
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, gooseandegg

It was time for a return trip to Tassie to explore the southern part of the state. I paired up with OzHockeyChick for a 5 day caching blitz with some sightseeing in between. Today was Day 4 and we headed north east from Port Arthur to Orford and Triabunna via the TTSS trail with the sun shining all the way.
Finally working our way along TTSS. All was good here at GZ.
Thanks gooseandegg for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

A completely different hide to the previous one found in a similar situation today.
This one, being much larger, was a lot easier to spot.
Some great potholes near GZ. Thanks.

A week away from the stresses of reality. a new state for the geocaching stats.
Cache was found with Crzymelly & TeamPQS.
An awesome trail, would love to do more of it, but maybe another time. Any DNF's for us are probably more likely us missing the obvious rather than the cache not being there.

While visiting on holidays we attended a few Cache Events and everyone has said we have to do The Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series.
Finally we've got around to it and completed the TTSS over a few days.
A couple of hours one day, a full day the next and a couple more hours on the third.
We thoroughly enjoyed finding all the caches, there was a nice mixture of containers and some very cool hides.
From now on when other Geocachers ask what are the good caches in Tassie, we'll be recommending they do this series as well.
Well done to all involved in setting the series up, the effort you all put in was fantastic.

Absolutely love this series, in one of my favourite places on Earth. Thank you. No phone reception so logged online later. An incredible rainy, misty day with dencoxclan getting lost in the temperate rainforest. Just brilliant. Such creative caches and hides.
I first noticed this series not long after we started caching and from that moment on wanted to come and find them one day. I solved four of the puzzles a few months and left the other hundred or so for another day. So when Zozetta and I decided to have a go at them I had two days to get them done. I solved thirty six on Sunday leaving sixty five for Monday. I managed to get it done and so today we went to the southern end of Wielangta road and worked our way up from there. We ended up with twenty seven finds and one DNF. The weather didn’t look good this morning but it wasn’t too bad once in the Wielangta forest.
Each cache location is well thought out with plenty of room for parking and the containers and their contents were never boring!
Like most of the caches we found today, the gpsr wouldn’t settle. We searched what turned out to be GZ twice, the first time the gpsr said nineteen metres the second time it said one. And then jumped back to seven. Zozetta made the find eventually while I tried to figure out what was wrong. I think it was just the clouds, you couldn’t see any blue at all!
Thanks to the The Snake Charmers for placing this series.

Surprisingly difficult to find. Very well done. [^]
Found with catnap777 on our Geocaching holiday toTassie doing what we love doing most. [:X]
The Snake Series slithered onto my wishlist the very first day I heard of it, and cat' was bitten too when I mentioned it to her early in our relationship. Over 100 letterboxes lined up, with large and unique types scattered throughout over a couple of counties in God's own country was all just too tempting to ignore.
Having worked through all the projections from home, it was finally our turn to take on the snake on our homeward leg.
After being chased South a little early by the weather, catnap777 and I just set up camp down there for a little while longer which suited us just fine. We had a lot of geocaching business down Hobart way, and as far south as you can go, but now that much of the water up north had subsided, it was time to head back up there via the East Coast this time which also meant via this amazing Geoart series.
TFTC&Series stainless-steel-rat.
Every cache we visited in Tassie added to the joys of our holiday adventure finding caches in every county on the main Island during our 10 day visit. [^]

Found and signed with dalerious .
The Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series . Well, where do I start with this awesome set of caches. dalerious and I chose this series to do on our first trip to Tassie as a caching couple, because it not only covered a huge quantity of Letterboxe's, which we both desperately needed, but it also had some Mystery caches thrown in the mix as well .
Unfortunately for us, grading of the middle section of road, and time restraints meant that we will have to finish off the series next time. And if I have it my way, next time will be very soon .
All containers were found in excellent condition, unless otherwise stated. A great mix of containers and hides too .
Thank you stainless-steel-rat for an awesome drive . We even got to see the star of the show; yes YOU and a fair dinkum Tiger snake .
I will be giving favourite points intermittently.
We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.
We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.
Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .
We humbly thank all the CO's that provided all the caches, and we can't wait to do it all again down under, under, very soon .

Found it! Tftc! enjoying this series staying out at orford for a few days so thought we’d take the opportunity to do some of the Tassie tiger snake series. The weather was a bit miserable but it was never boring!
This almost beat us but with a clue the same as another cache by stainless steel rat that took us months, we were determined! Our perseverance paid off eventually:D

Today we found TTSS - En Garde on our travels. We are on another visit from Melbourne just because…well, maybe it’s all those puzzles we solved during those many lockdowns! Having the opportunity to sign some actual logs is exciting!
Thanks gooseandegg for being part of our geocaching fun.

After solving all of this series a few days ago in preparation we decided to see how we would go today. The goal for today was 100 finds in a day.
We ended up looking for 92/105 of this series (and found 9 others to reach 100) and only had one DNF.
The cache containers were all well sized and it never got boring with a lot of nice hides. Several favourite points were given out.
Thanks to gooseandegg and stainless-steel-rat for the series.
Magnetic, regular sized but harder than some magnetic micros!

Our 3rd time looking for this one and got out of the car wondering if it would be another failure. Looked on wrong side at first then spotted it on the ground on the other. Lucky us, but now to work out how to put it back.
Now back where we think it should be.
Woohoo we have completed the Snake Series now, many thanks for the work you two have put into them all.

Headed to Tassie with my muggle driver to complete some geoart and this high scoring series has been on our radar for quite some time. Did not disappoint in the least. Had a great 2 days completing this series, had mostly hits but also a few missus which just means we'll need to come back another time to complete. Thanks CO's for the caches. They were absolutely awesome and great fun to find.
Third day In Triabunna today, going to try to finish the snake letterbox run. Worked this series out several weeks ago. Thanks to The Snake Charmers for the caches.
Time to head South as I was running out of days on my Tassie road trip. Not entirely sure where to go, or what to look at just yet. Only that I need to work on my stats and find some more D3 and T3 caches on the way.
Taking the detour off the main highway onto these dirt roads make the journey more interesting. Though doing the bushbash or scramble in shorts and sandals can get a bit painful at times.
Thanks for the cache.

I knew I wouldn't get them all due to terrain and time but did what I could.

I am so grateful for these well placed caches with pull over lanes. I appreciate I feel safe finding these!
This was one of the more tricky hides of it's type but we got her. Many thanks.
Oh no this one tricked us again, can't believe it but we will be back for a 3rd look next time.
We decided to start our quest from the point farthest from Orford and work our way back towards town. We really enjoyed all the caches we found, the hides are very clever, the cache names are great and we really appreciate the work that has gone into the series. Sorry for the generic logs, favourite points for the ones we liked best
TB x 2 picked up here
Trip log: Day 4 of 5 with GreyHams on our Tasmanian Caching Trip. A trip planned with counties, and caches of quality as we pass. If your cache made our list it had a quality we sort... thank you for your cache!
Today's focus was the TTSS, so many letterboxes - we had more to do than time allowed but the focus was to try for as many as we could, and all of the larges. With the colder weather that was okay but forcast of rain and possible wet muddy roads, well, this was about to get fun!
As it happened we never did get the rain, it wasn't so cold and the roads were not really muddy but oh did we still have fun! definitly the BEST letterbox series I have ever completed and I will go as far as to say I doubt it can be topped. I gave out SO many FP's, the names of the caches, the containers, ALL the larges and the humour. It just kept giving and we just kept going taking our time and enjoying each creative letterbox along the way.
Out of time on the series it was off to each new county we still had to complete... and they needed to be completed by the end of the day. A night time wildlife encounter drive delivered a huge number of wombats and little hoppy things, we luckily avoided them all as we wound our way through forests in the dark along the way into Launceston for the night.
Super enjoyable day through the typical amazing and changing scenery Tasmania has to offer.

One of the best series I have ever done. So many great containers.....in fact most of them were fantastic. The names, so funny, so well done. I am giving every one a FP as they nearly all were awesome in some way

Aquilus1 and I have been on a mission.....a mission to collect Australian states/counties. The target this time was Tasmania, with neither of us having found a cache yet in Tassie. So a loop was planned, starting/finishing in Lonny (even the plane pilot called it this!! Love that!). I was driving so my logs are a little more generic than Aquilus1's, my apologies.
Day #1 Leave Canberra at sparrows, transiting through Melbourne and collecting our car....first things first was to get the oldies along the cataract gorge, which was great as Aquilus1 had never been to Tassie before and its a great place to start. Onwards up the Tamar and then zigzagging across through Devonport, Burnie and eventually ending at Stanley.
Day #2 had us go back to Devonport for a FTF......yay! Then onto Hobart, via Queenstown! Long day through blizzards, hydro power and SO MUCH NOTHING! Beautiful nothing of course
Day #3 around Tassie.....into Huon valley, freezing to death in the water in Clarence, passed Port Arthur to see some caves and ending up in Sorrell
Day #4 was power trailing large letterboxes until we had to head back north to Lonny, via Buckland, Oatlands, Fingal and Scottsdale..... dodging wildlife after dark.....so scary!
Day #5 was a quick duck over to Flinders and back..... car rental place thought we were nuts! Then back to Canberra, safe and snug under my blanket for the -5 night.....now THATS cold!

Snake series
Id planned a trip to the great state of tassie since work and then covid had kept me out of tassie for almost 18 months.
With the dates booked we wondered where we would cache and what else we would do.
AGFEST was on so things quickly got based around that and some caches were loaded.
My rule is to always start with a coffee at Richmond and then my holiday is officially started.
This series had been spoken about for a while as somthing id be keen to give a crack, the boys (CO's) obliged and we went for a spin to get a few smilies, i wasnt disappointed !
This has got to be the best series ive done, no copy and paste with crappy little caches
Very impressive

Also we have a list of other cache of interest to find.

Found with gwd.aussie while enjoying a tassie caching adventure. Before leaving Victoria we solved many caches so there are plenty of caches we want to grab (not only solved caches but old caches, favourited caches, challenges and caches that help with challenges) however sadly we will not be able to find them all.
Thanks The Snake Charmers

This was found in the third or fourth spot i looked, after mr_johna uncovered the cheeky hide somewhere i wasn't.
Thanks for another letterbox cache in a day out peaking at a grand total of a hundred and four.. that will stand for a long time to come i have no doubt, and will hopefuĺly not take forever to backlog them all.
This cache also makes it my one hundredth letterbox cache! A feat i thought forever away.

A carload went past at just the "sprung" moment for this one.
I solved the Tiger Snake series soon after it came out. But had been holding off on collecting them as I had an ambition to complete them all in a day. In order to do that, I thought I would need some help from another cacher, or a driver, or both. As it happened, the stars were aligned and a trip was in order today, with a driver who is (until today) a muggle, and not used to travelling with passengers as she's more for 2 wheels than 4. We set off at 5:00am from Hobart, collecting the third member of the party (smallwombat) from Huonville, had an over-priced toastie and coffee at Sorell and picked up a couple of caches in Copping before starting the Wielangta Road southern end around 08:20am. As it turned out, our designated driver knew Wielangta Road very well as her sister lives on it! Our journey took us up to the picnic area, onward to Orford for lunch (because muggins here left his lunch - not onion sandwiches but ham cheese vegemite tomato lettuce and onion in the fridge, and muggins here also forgot to mention to one member of the party to bring some) and back down with the aim of tackling Rheban Road back up to Spring Beach. A research mistake meant that my assumption of which bridge was out was incorrect, and only busted once we were on the wrong end of Rheban Rd and could see the bridge in question at about 4pm. It was at that point that we decided to "call it" and not travel back up to Orford, back down for 13 caches, back to Orford and back to where we were because that would make us late for an impromptu visit for our driver that was locked in. In the end we had 12 non-TTSS finds for the day; and all of the TTSS series found bar the 13 past the (missing) bridge on Rheban Road. Muggins here might have accidentally written the wrong date in a few caches. The pace of some of the finds - I was barely remembering my name to write in the logs. Smaller logs were signed as "JA/SWB/E" or similar. There are some truly excellent caches on this series and many of the titles and hints were met with surprise, chuckles and the occasional dad-joke groan. I have tried to leave fav points but I don't think I have enough. I really appreciate the effort that The Snake Charmers have put in scouting locations, making and placing these caches, and maintining them for our enjoyment.

We have been in Tasmania 48 hours, it's time to go find the only one in this series we DNF'd last trip. A very easy find today, it was laying on the ground. Great to be able to complete this fantastic series and be presented with our snake sticker by Mrs H. Left a trackable to continue it's journey. Signed log and Wazza9 replaced how it should have been placed. A big thanks to gooseandegg.
TFTC,
Out for a day of exploration with Nana nel and The Hancock Clan.
We managed 10 GC and 4 GA finds which included a FTF on the Virtual cache.
On our last trip to Tasmania we were able to get all but one cache in the series. Today, it was time to turn the blue face into a yellow one.
Arriving at GZ we found the cache on the ground and returned it to the correct location after signing the log.
We were then given a small but great memento of the TTSS and again send our thanks to the CO's.
Added a favourite and visited trackables.

The GPSr lost it's accuracy here, but the youngest of us said he knew where it would be, and he was right !

Day Two of attempting to tame the serpent and putting it to the Snake Charmers ! The day starts bright and windless. Looks like its going to be a warmish exercise. Continuing to do the "paper work" now the day after. A bit showery this morning, and uncomfortably windy, so a good activity to be logging these from yesterday's marathon. Nearly got goosed and egged on this one ! Not your usual magnetic.
After the celebration events of yesterday my aim today was to find as many of the remaining TTSS Series as I could. I had just arrive at this location when Merilyntas and Coxfamily7130, who had started at the end of the trail arrived. Cache found, log signed and we parted to continue our searches.
After solving this series it was nice to get the opportunity to get out and find them. I travelled with Merilyn Tas and after events in the swansea are we spent 2 nights in Orford ready for a big day out caching.
Unfortunately we didn't get them all done in one day as the BLOODY engine light came on the car so we had to knock off early afternoon. The poor little car had just got hot, its only a little Gutz and the road sign does say sections suitable for 4wd vehicles only!! I sure seen the biggest pot holes I have ever seen. For a road that I thought would be not used at all it was surprising the amount of cars we seen. Day 1 we found 67 and 38 on the second day we were lucky to have no DNF as most had hints to help us out. Was also happy to celebrate my 800th find along the way and Merilyn celebrated her 500th.
Wow what an amazing series so many different container types of along the way. So much time and effort put into making this serius possible you boys have done an amazing job...im sure you have shares in a pipe company.
With Great thanks to Stainless Steel Rat & Goose and Egg.
When we stopped at this one another cacher we knew pulled up for a chat and some help so we set IcyBee Tas of with some more info to find one he couldn't find.

Day 1 of the Snake. Bit of a cloudy and drizzly day as we set out to find the Caches in this series after a great weekend on the East Coast attending the Events held. Found with CoxFamily7310. Such a great weekend away.
Thank you SSR and GooseandEgg for the huge effort making the Caches and planning and placing them here for us to find and enjoy. The range of different containers and hiding places kept us excited to see what would come next.

On a trip down to Orford to search for the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series of caches in the Wielangta National Forest.
We found all of the snake caches great fun, some very funny cache designs. A lot of thought has gone into the design of this series. The caches are of good quality and co-ords in most cases are very good. Exception is down to swirly GPS and not CO’s. This series is like having an up sized big mac meal. When you do the series, you will know what I mean.
Nearly every cache has good parking and access to GZ.
Well done to the Charmers on a brilliant series. No wonder you are collecting a lot of favourites.
We searched and searched, GPS was all over the place and felt this would be a DNF to ruin the collection of the series.
We left it to go do others and get into phone coverage to phone a friend.
With a bit more info we came back and wondered why we didn't look here earlier.
Cache is in good condition and good co-ords led to a quick find

Hello The Snake Charmers!
It's almost a year since this series was published, and I have been keen to get back and finish it. As RLD4963 and I are both on leave at the moment, I requested we set aside a day to come back and see if we could finish the series and today was the day, so we loaded up the GeoGSP this morning and headed off. We saw a total of four cars all day on the road, including one little Suzuki Swift that bottomed out as it passed us!
Nice cammo for this one, quick find, cache all in good order.

out and about Finishing of the snake for both of us, a cool quiet day, not many cars in this area, good, no one watching, good to get back to Rat and Gooses hides on the snake. an easy find with clues. TFTC TNLN log dry. no reception in the area had us logging them after the trip.
Today we again hit this brilliant series with Granddaughters Miss M, Miss J and Miss I who are staying with us for four days during the school holidays. After picking up two that we missed in error we turned around yet again and headed to this little cache to make it number five for the day, lovely container again and well hidden using the environment well. Thanks The Snake Charmers, it was a cool and overcast day and just a little damp in places. GZ all dry of course.
A bit too quick of a find on this one makes us wonder if it may have moved from it's intended hiding place.
The puzzles for this series were solved some time ago in preparation for the right time to head off to find them. What time could be better than a birthday weekend for Mrs Coder, with the addition of completing our 500th find! Having headed down from the NW coast for the trip we were able to complete the series with one overnight stay, and take time to explore along the way. All caches were found in excellent condition, with only 3 dnf's which we expect may have become casualties of a flood. With such quality caches placed, we took the time to appreciate the effort put into each of these, and ensure that all bags containing the log book were sealed (which unfortunately many of them closer to Orford were not).
This is by far the best trail we have completed so huge thank you to SSR and gooseandegg for their mammoth effort.

'LOVE' that the caches in this series are outside the usual. Usually looking for micros at a site like this but of course that is not The Snake Charmers style. RoadieM found the cache while I was on the other side of the road, once again!
We always approach these hides with some trepidation, and this one had us scratching around for a bit before the cache was in hand . Very clever.
Thanks The Snake Charmers.
Thanks The Snake Charmers.
When I briefly met the COs at the Gong mega last July and they said “if you’re even in Tassie…” I had no idea that six months later, I’d take them up on the invite. Actually, barely two weeks ago today, I had no idea I would even be joining J+J this trip but here we are, third of an impromptu six days away and easily ticking off this trail. By the time I returned home, had kick started 2020 with 355 interstate smileys (about a third of my average yearly total) thanks to four geoarts and numerous finds along the way. Mostly good co-ordinates, clues and some creative camo made for a successful day out with a muggle driver and two experienced eyes free to hunt. Apologies for the generic log unless additional comments required.
We’re travelling in Tassie with Mizmaz .This is our 3rd day and we are targeting this series. This is a great series, with good coordinates and great containers with plenty of variety.

Visiting Australia for the first time. On Holland America’s Noordam Cruise ship. We just visited 6 cities in New Zealand with Hobart our first Australian stop. Aloha from Hawaii. Thanks so much The Snake Charmers for placing this cache. Caching with foomanjoo. Signing as CL and FMJ.
Fast and fun find with Cache_Lee during a day’s adventure off the Noordam. I had tried to partner up with a local for the TTSS run via the Facebook group for Tasmania and managed to find a teammate from Hawaii! We picked up a rental car as soon as we disembarked the ship and made the drive to the furthest north cache in the series and scored a bunch of smileys on our way back to the port. Perfect coords, names, and hints. I greatly enjoyed this series! Looking forward to the Farewell 2019 event in Hobart tonight! Thanks for the fun, The Snake Charmers!

Came out today with the thought of doing as many of this series as possible with the help of my geosons . We found a variety of hides in a range of placements. Mostly they were all good at the caches Thanks gooseandegg/stainless-steel-rat for creation of the series and the placement of the caches. Apologies for the generic nature of the logs the sheer volume has defeated us once again Cheers

A visit to the south of the state gave us the opportunity to complete this series.
Starting from the Copping end we snaked our way towards Orford. A total of 7 hours on the trail including breaks.
What a fantastic series. We were impressed with the quality of the hides and the attention to detail. The well stocked caches and variety of hides made this an outstanding series.
Awarding a favourite point to each and every one.
Many thanks gooseandegg and StainlessSteelRat for creating, placing and maintaining this series for our enjoyment, we really appreciate all the time and effort you both have invested in this series.

Found on the second day of a short visit to Tasmania catch up with family and friends.
After arriving in Hobart yesterday, I picked up the hire car then headed towards Orford, primarily to do the TTSS letterbox/puzzle series, and also to see some friends that live there. The main cache targets for the day were the ones along the Rheban Road between the Wietlanga Road and Spring Beach.
Today I headed south again from Orford, completing the other 90 or so in the series and opportunistically picking up one other traditional along the way.
All of the caches were found without any problems and in good order, and I have allocated a few favourite points to some of the TTSS caches that I enjoyed.
Thanks The Snake Charmers for an excellent geoart series.

Our second visit here as last time it was missing. Well, it was nearly missing again! The cache was just hanging by a thread and one slight vibration and it would have fallen and become very exposed. After carrying out the signing duties, we replaced it far more securely. TFTC!

With a planned event this weekend postponed we decided to use the gap in the calendar to check out this fantastic series, we've thoroughly enjoyed these inventive and often surprising finds. Thank you so much for the time, thought, creativity and effort put into these. A truly beautiful part of Tassie to explore.
We began caching at 10.32 and our last find was at 7.50pm, almost all of the caches were easy, quick finds.
Not quite what we expected to find which just added to the fun of this cache.

After staying in Orford overnight, our plan today was to attempt the remaining 40 caches in the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series. The rain of yesterday continued overnight but cleared during the morning. We were very happy that we found the remaining caches today and in doing so, completed the series.
Our experiences today only reinforced the comments made yesterday. Without any hesitation we can say that the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series is one of the three best trails in Australia that we have attempted, and we have certainly tackled quite a few. The planning, cache preparation, attention to detail, creativity and the cache hides are of the highest quality – some were superb. Over dinner last night we contemplated the caches to which we should award favourite points. The superb and outstanding caches were obvious. However, as we looked at the others we recognized their very high individual quality and compared to others we have recognized recently, we concluded that all Tiger Snake caches that we found today should be awarded a favourite point. The only regret was that we could not award multiple points to some caches.
In most instances today, the coordinates were quite accurate although there were a couple of caches where the cache was a short distance from the confirmed coordinates.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find of a well hidden cache. There was only one spot where a container of this size could have been hidden. The cache and contents were in very good condition.
Congratulations gooseandegg and StainlessSteelRat on an outstanding series. We appreciate the efforts that has gone into all aspects, from the initial concept through to the placement of superbly crafted caches. You have created the best trail by far in Tasmania and one of the best in the country.

Been meaning to get out to all these “snake” caches but knew we would need a full day to collect them all and today was that day. We started off early and had planned to have lunch in Orford and then finish the loop off. We accomplished all of the 99 “snakes” (had collected 6 on the day of publication) and 1 other cache in Orford. We had heard wonderful reports on the quality of these caches and they were true. Luckily we have a lot of favourite points to give out. The road has deteriorated, since we were out this way when caches were published and we had to dodge huge holes with water in them but it was worth the rattling along and zigzagging all over the place!
En Garde......my goodnes, this had my head spinning. What a creative placement. We took a little while to find this clever container and then had a good laugh at how well it was done. Another favourite point.

This was the target of the day, with the largest series of letterbox caches in the country to date it was a must do on my trip to tassie.
A great series full of a variety of hides and some well crafted caches. Definitely not your normal power trail. We enjoyed the creativity on some of them. Some took some searching as the co ords were a little out but the hints were all good.
In total all but 4 were found in 6 hours.
Today was a long day out but purely for caching with JLrockstar, we decided that we would head down and tackle the new TTSS series starting near Orford. Followed by a few other caches. All together a total of 121 finds for the day.

I'm still in shock as to how this container could have disappeared. Perhaps the people who dumped the fridge about two metres away were just making a swap. Funny how they thought a cache container was a good swap for a bar fridge.......
New container in place.
Please be careful when replacing that it sits above the pin.

We spent a long time here and it started to get dark. We contacted the CO later and it appears it may have gone walkies, unless of course we were all suffering from cache blindness! We will be back...
TFTC,
A big thanks to Team The Snake Charmers for developing such a great series. I saw the comments on the Geocaching Tasmania Facebook page when it was published and then from The Hancock Clan who advised us to prepare for an experience we would enjoy. And enjoy we have.
Its going to be difficult placing individual logs for all we have done so I have decided to do this generic log and add individual comments to some that I can remember of the 79 found caches that made up my day. 78 TTSS caches down and still many great caches and locations to go. A reason to return if we can't complete them this trip.
Hear we go on an amazing day out in the The Wielangta forest. Cache #DNF
Now everyone knows that we are not all perfect and even 4 sets of eyes can fail to find a great cache. It looks like this will be a great reason to return next time we are in Tasmania.

A statement made on arriving at GZ ‘You couldn’t possibly hide a regular size cache here’.
Well apparently you can! – Good one.
Thanks for the cache.

Hello gooseandegg thank you for the cache.
Nice strong Magnets on this one.
Dropped off TB
Today EeePees and I headed off to find the rest of TTSS caches with all of the cords plotted and the battery well charged there was nothing to stop us today.
As expected the quality of caches was excellent. As the driver I was supposed to stay in the car and work out the next easiest cache to drive too, but I couldn't help but to get out and have a look at a few of them and even managed to say I'll go and get this one.
But this did cause a little problem near the end of the series where I missed a road and had to come back for the last few caches along that road.
I know EeePees wasn't worried but I know if this was a rally valuable point could have been lost.
Thanks to EeePees for another great day out.
Sorry for the generic log. But I think you know how much I have enjoined finding your TTSS caches.

Thanks gooseandegg, and stainless-steel-rat, for this cache and indeed the entire TTSS, and for an excellent two days.
Whilst we were at the previous cache, a vehicle with SA plates passed us, heading North. At this cache, the same vehicle went by, heading South. They mustn't have been enjoying the drive; pfft, muggles!!
Found with AlbyDangles, thanks mate for the fantastic company, as always.
More detail on today’s exploits can be found in my log on TTSS Earl of Stump, our last and final TTSS find, thus completing the ‘snake’. [Hyperlink]( https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=e2af7fbb-a8b9-4946-9dec-a83c0143151d)

I am logging this cache today as I was the beta tester for its’ hide many many times now, rather than leave my log at that, I will tell you the story of how (as I remember it) this series came about, since we have both been asked a lot of questions from the finders so far.
Before I carry on, I will say I was up this way with the CO fixing up some minor issues with the series since they were published so now feels the correct date to log them all as we called in to check on them.
You will note I say ‘as I remember it’ since we disagree on how many visits we have made to this area during the placing of this series, I say 14 I’m not sure what the Gooses’ count is.
We had been on the lookout for a location to place a big series for a long time and had spent many days driving back roads all over the Southern half of the state before we came across this one, for whatever reason we dismissed all of the past locations for small or big things one of us didn’t like.
So, 9 months and 1 day before the publication date of the series, we first scouted this area (and found the few caches out there already) with work and normal family life we drove up this way whenever we had the free time on the weekend. The first trip we just wanted to see if we could find a large percentage of the locations on the first pass, well we found 44 locations that day and it was at this point we said we could make this work as a series.
My shed for a time looked like a cross between a plumbers’ merchants and a camouflage factory, we had a bit of a production line going. Many weekends were spent making and painting containers, if we wanted to go caching at the weekend, well we had to do some week nights to make up for it, but we had the wood fire to keep us warm into the night so it wasn’t too bad.
It was a bit of a rush to get them all out since we had set ourselves the goal of having them ready before we headed off to the Gong Mega, with all the backend work of images and listings done we submitted them all for review and Balayang was good enough to do them all as a batch and publish them all when we wanted.
Thanks to Mrs Rat and the Egg for putting up with months of our antics.

Hi to the Charmers
An early morning start to come and search for more of this great series
The weather was drizzly when I left home and was much the same when I arrived at the first cache - it improved immensely a short time later which helped add to my caching day
Found 33 of the series today - all varied finds and appropriately named - before returning South to visit with Mum
I actually stopped here and had a look for this cache on spec on the 20 July; the day of the event; but was not good enough to find it that day. Another search was made on the 27 July but was unsuccessful then too Today, I was determined NOT to leave before it was found
The cache was Sainted at 0806 hours
It has to get a favourite for the way it was hidden and for the time I put in to find it!!
Today, it was a round trip of 262 km in the car and even though most caches weren't far from where I parked, I managed to walk 7.45 km utilizing 9424 steps whilst burning 1630 calories
TFTC and cheers

A day out with Geo Kid E, mainly to crack the safe for the current game. Had great fun along this run of caches. Some OMG moments and some OMFG moments.
Also had a lovely walk through an avenue of trees which was pretty nice.
TFTC and Thanks for the series
This was my 35 cache, allowing me to crack the safe in the current game

Today we thought we might find the 35 caches needed for the "Mystery at the Museum" to crack open the safe so we headed off early to the Wielangta forest knowing we had more than enough caches there to find. After finding what we needed we continued on to find 44 which meant our 7000 th cache find was obtained doing this fantastic geo art. Ok we reached that target and then thought, not many to go until we have them all so this was number 15 of 75 found.
We had a fantastic day, the hides were well stocked, very creative and made use of the surrounding environs. The containers were well cammoed and we hope the shares in your plumbing store have gone up! Not to mention the world is now a safer place because all the ammunition has been removed from ammo cans and geocaches hidden within. We laughed at some of the names as they made more sense once at GZ. The hints provided were appreciated. A very big thank you to you both for setting this series up. We just wish we had enough favourite points to give one to each cache. TFTLB. Very cleverly hidden.

Joint FTF with Hatgillie. After an awesome breakfast and a catchup with some fellow geocachers it was off to find some of the over 100 caches published. Thanks for all the awesome caches. We found 38 for the day after a quick trip home to get onto my pc and solve some coords. TFTC
FTF with TAS32 after heading back to his place to solve some more puzzles.
