Logging this locationless before the deadline runs out.

Photographed at 15:45 as the light was fading. My daughter Mary came with me for this one - despite the cold, squally weather. Like everything in Ireland, the mast has a name. It's called 'Tymon Tower' - I suppose because it's located in Tymon Park (a lovely park which now has a motorway running down the middle of it) in south Dublin city. The mast is owned by Vodafone.

Happy New Year and “Go raibh míle maith agat†(Irish language).

We found this tower that looked like a tree last summer. The pictures got misplaced and we just found them. All that only to find out the picture with the GPS did not turn out. All we got was a fence. We are hoping that this will be accepted without the GPS. There was traffic coming and that was evidently the reason for the out-of-focus picture.
This was found in Hampton County, Massachusetts.

10-Dec-05
Found this off Rt. 206 on the outskirts of Bainbridge, NY. Very hard to see through the trees but it was the best I could do because I couldn't get a clear shot from anywhere else. The fake tree is in the center of all the pictures.

09-Dec-05
Went to my eye doctor's office in Las Vegas...the last time I was here they were getting ready to start construction on something but did not know what they were building until I went back for another check-up...I took these pictures from my parking space right below the "tree"

7.30am.
This is a Vodacom tower, one of the South African cell providers. This tower is on the Paarl route very close to the prison from which Nelson Mandela took his first steps to freedom.

Hunt in GuangHsien river side park, Taipei County, Taiwan, R.O.C. The yellow coconut palm tree looks so fake and out of joint because it made of plastic.

03-Dec-05
This one is so new they are not done installing it yet. But it is finished enough to see what it is. And what it is - is a cell tower along the Border Highway, just north of the Rio Grande on the American side of the United States / Mexican border, near Midway road.

This firr tree is one of the ususal ones used by Vodacom and MTN, the largets cell operators in South Africa. This particular trees are situated in Brooklyn Pretoria at the Laer Skool Pretoria Oos (Primary School Pretoria East). As can be seen in one of the photos there are two firr trees about 50m apart, renting out space on school grounds is quite usual for schools to earn some revenue.

Greetings from Cache Fan South Africa

This is one really big tree that is as fake as they come. Saw it from a long way before we got there. The light was starting to fial but I got my shots in as fast as I could. The area is pretty private but I snuck as close as I dared. Located on route 17,near Tisonia,Fla.

This "tree/Tower" is on The "Hutchinson River Parkway Rest Area" NY, where there is a micro cache of the same name. The coodinates are a lil different from the one's given for the micro caches, as it is NOT the same part of the rest area.

I saw THAT TREE I was there on 12 Oct. 2005 finding the "Hutchinson River Parkway Rest Area" cache In fact I see "That Tree" every time I drive by the rest stop going north or south.

I later found your have "That Tree Looks so Fake (Reverses Locatiolless Cache".

I have checked all the logs looking for this cell tower. It was not found and I checked them all.
This cell tower is located on the south side of US Rte 1 Lincoln Highway north in the borough of tullytown/morrisville pennsylvania. The pictures were take on the shoulder of the road about 1 mile from the US1 / Trenton Bridge into New Jersey. If any one did log this they have it mis-entered. Yes my wife found this.

10-Nov-05
This cellphone tower just happens to be less than 1km from our home. It is so realistic that we made a point of capturing the red lights on top in the photo. Home is Nelspruit, Mpumalanga province, South Africa.

Number 282

This one is in Lancaster MA - will load up the pics ASAP.

10-Nov-05
Found this one in one of South Korea's National Parks. The tower itself is disguised as a tree, but as you can see, the antennas leave a bit to be desired Wink

I will provide photos in the next couple days when I return to Virginia. I cannot download from my camera ... poor planning on my part ... no cable.

Many of these in town. Logging this one since I do not know when I can get the saguaro cell tower. I will post a note with that one.

#800 7/10 found at 12:05 pm with MajorT and the SlackJawed Yokels.

I'm so happy to have this cache be my 800th find. I love locationless (this is my #125th found) and sad to see them go.

Anyway, SlackJawed-Rob told me he had one for me and no one seemed to have logged it. We went and snapped some pictures and no one had logged it. TFTC!

05-Nov-05
Found today with ODragon and the Slackedjawed Yokels as we were caching in the area. SJY-Rob had seen one and pointed it out to ODragon .. but then we found another one later on in the day so I got a chance to log it too! Very interesting!

Found this one while trying to avoid traffic on the way to work. It is near the corner of Greene St and Colf Course in Paradise Hills, just south of Rio Rancho, New Mexico

I noticed this one when i located a cache in a nearby park weeks before discovering your cache. it is another Las Vegas (henderson) "palm tree", it is located on major ave at morrell park. i also saw a crew contructing a new "tree" on my way back home.

31-Oct-05
I had never seen a cell tower disguised as a palm tree before today. Of course that might be because the ones I've seen are in the northeast, where there are not a lot of palm trees to mimic! Apparently, Las Vegas has a bunch of these fake trees. I first found the one near Cheyenne and I-15, but I discovered that one was claimed by Vegas5. Got another late today that is not logged, while looking for an unclaimed Nevada historical marker near Brooks Ave. and 5th. It is just off Losee Road, just north of where 5th and Losee intersect. It is on private property, heavly fenced, and I could not get close enough to it to tell whose tower it is. Sorry. Pictures below.

Found this cell tower along the Garden State Parkway in the Rahway, NJ area. Looks like the top leaves are a different color than the bottom leaves.
Thanks for the cache.

Concord, CA - "One of these doesn't belong with the other..."

I thought I'd better get this one logged before time runs out.

This 'tree' is located behind Good Shepard Lutheran Church on Clayton Road, in Concord, California.

Checked with Locationless Proximity Analyzer.

What is that tree, it's so tall and so strait?? It grows very fast also Smile, it wasn't there a couple month ago.

This was more challenging that I anticipated. This tower is visible from I-70 west of Denver, Colorado, just west of the Evergreen exit. I figured, no problem, just scoot off the freeway & find my way there. It would have worked if it were not for gated roads, and also for the tower disappearing behind the ridge as I got closer to it.

So, I did the next best thing and shot some angles from 2 points, one almost due south, and one almost due east, collected the bearing & locations of those 2 points, and then did some elementry surveying back at the office.

Picture 1 was taken at N39 41.682 W105 21.370, approx 1500 feet south of the tower (bearing 17). Picture 2 was taken at N39 41.939 W105 20.081, approx 5600 feet east of the tower (bearing 269). The intersection of those two chords puts the tower at N39 41.935 W105 21.274.

Picture 3 is from Sprint's tower locator website, and shows the tower location along I-70.

This I think is an awesome shot. This is a cell tower near a prison farm in Virginia. I looked at this one a while trying to decide if it was in fact a tree or a tower. Thanks for making us take the time to notice things around us.

Please dont archive it yet, I have a photo of a great cell tower, a unique type of tree no one else has. But I do not have a digital camera or scanner. It will take a couple of weeks to upload the photo.

Finally! IGYB!!!!! It took my a lot of attempts to log this cache. Over several months of looking I saw several of these towers in Campbell, Prunedal, and Sacramento, but all had been looged - usually several times! The on Friday while driving down 101 to SoCal I passed several more and marked them. I checked on them that night and all but two were taken. Luckily I just needed one!

Today on the way home we got to the first I had marked, and it turned out to be a real tree that just looked fake! We had a good laugh but now I really had to hope the other unlogged one was not also a real tree! Well, we got there and there was no doubt, it's an antenna tower, so I started taking pics and I got a message on my camera that the memory card was full! At this point my head nearly exploded.

I think I made an outburst of a line from Patton: "I'm going to be allowed to fulfill my destiny!" My wife rolls her eyes. I back up through the pics I had taken over the weekend, delete several blurry shots to make room, and finally get my pics and my find. Now I just need to finally log my other LC nemesis - faded adverts - and I can die happily. TFTC!

Hard to take a pic..hold the gps and drive all at the same time....thanks for the find....

That tree is weird, because there are so many purple leaves on the trunk. I visited that place on the 30.09.05. at 13:50.

A fake cellphone tree designed to look like Italian Cypress tree in Santa Cruz, CA. This tree actually looks quite realistic due to dense "foliage", but closer inspection gives it away. The tree caused a minor controversy when it was placed, see http://www.metroactive.com/papers/cruz/02.26.03/nuz-0309.html

27-Sep-05
Called in at this one today.
It's in the eastern part of England, in the village of Old Warden. It's a disguised transmitter for the mobile firm Orange.

22-Sep-05
This cache will end soon!! Only a few days left to log it if you can. This cache is currently active on the Waymarking.com site, it does allow for Trees and Other types of towers such as the last log.

It has been fun, THE DAM TROLLS

Found this tower disquised as a tree at the side of Route 393 near Concord, NH. From a distance the tower appears convincing. However, up close the massive size of the tree, the regularity of the branches, and the obvious artifical structures become obvious. TFTC!

This cell phone tower is on the property of Shoreline Christian Church in Shoreline, Washington. It's a prominent and somewhat distracting feature while driving along Interstate-5, and for a long time I had no idea what it was. I finally decided that it was a tree house for church members to get closer to the heavens. Recently, my son informed me of its real function, and I drove over to the church for a closer inspection. Apparently, when the church granted permission for the cell tower to be built on their property, they agreed as long as they were allowed to decorate it any way they wished. Dam Trolls, thanks for maintaining this locationless cache for the past three years.

Guilford, NY tower - always resembled a bottle brush to me!

18-Sep-05
This one is so close to my house that I received a public hearing notice "to all residences within 800'" from the City of Los Angeles before it was erected. Notice that the fake palm camo just doesn't match the real palms that line my street. TNX for letting me log my first locationless cache.

15-Sep-05
This wonderfully fake Pine tree is on the south side of main road from Caernarfon to Bangor in north Wales. We spotted it as were passing in the car today. Next time we go by we will take a picture of this "natural beauty"

Do flowers count???

If not, is there a Locationless for generally disguised towers?

This one is part of the gateway to the National Flower Markets in Melbourne, Victoria Australia.

The flower is distinctly visible right along the road the markets are on, which runs the length of the Port Of Melbourne. The shed is hidden neatly behind the fencing.

28-Jun-05
This is a new one and the first that i know of in our area to be disguised. Very straight for a pencil pine and a bit odd surrrounded by gum trees, but nicer to look at than the usual towers. This is just outside Sunbury, Victoria, Australia on the Calder Fwy.

08-Jan-05
This one took a lot of investigating on the net! We knew of a couple of these masts in the area but they had already been logged. So, after much browsing on the web, we came across a site listing various planning permissions for all sorts of buildings etc. One of which was for an installation of a tree mast next to the existing one...and there was even a grid reference given!!!
So here they both are! They're on farmland in Lustleigh, Devon, UK. I'm logging the one on the right, so if anyone reads this and fancies the one on the left...it's all yours!!!
Many thanks, really enjoyed this hunt,
The Hancock Clan

I've noticed this "tree" just outside St Andrews, Victoria, Australia many times in the past, just discovered this cache so went and logged it.

All these palm trees and that one is so much taller. Hmm, why has it got an antenna. Strange, I wonder what happens if I water it.
