Found barbed wire, found rocks, no cache. We will try again on our way back, as we want to get the bonus while we're here.
Out for a stroll with geodog and some light caching. TFTC. NB the bridge is closed.
Making a start on this series and the accompanying Ad Lab around the basin, so out to get another couple today. No problems here and code duly noted. TFTC
**#20,971**Fulla Fred!!!a short hunt around and Fred revealed himself, another nice themed logbook and the code carefully noted down to work out the bonus.Best to get the Ad Lab stage while in the area!Thank you, on to Shaggy!!
It was just before this cache that we had it confirmed that the bridge was closed, but a cache and an Ad Lab waypoint kept us focused. This cache needs a bit of a clean-up as it's damp and rusty inside. Thanks for the placement, TheCoblets.
Nice walk along here but ooops the bridge is closed. ..Well this has become an in and out.almost like completing it twice. thanks for the series bonus
At an event in the morning at which HeMaLuDy and Stik-A-Crane jointly celebrated 10 years of caching a plan was instigated to return and re-attempt some DNF's and perhaps locate a few more as well. With the bridge being closed we walked almost twice around the basin collecting trads, Adlabs and bonus's. After a very short search the container was located using the hint. We had just got back to the path when some muggles came around the corner. A nearby adlab point then back the other way past where we had parked the car. TFTC.
After an event a few members of Team SEAC did some afternoon caching. Trying to knock off some pesky DNF's and a general sweep of the area to try and clean up some green dots.It was just Mr HeMaLuDy and Mr NZT now as the others had bailed due to the heat and air conditioned homes awaiting. We tried to find an area that we both hadn't cached the Panmure Basin looked good. We walked almost twice around the Basin as the bridges is closed for maintenance.Noted there was a icecream van at the carpark and thought as a reward we would grab one before driving home and carried onto this cache for an easy find.TFTC
#11060:This was perhaps the trickiest cache for me. I had to be very careful of the plants and barbed wire, and it took me ages to find. I spotted it after a lot of poking about. TFTC.When I was searching, a couple passed us by Ans the man asked if we were "doing that treasure hunting game". His partner interjected "geocaching!" Caught in the act, but they knew exactly what I was up to. TFTC.
I don't restart work again until the 8th of Jan. With free accommodation I decided a geocaching holiday in Auckland was a good way to spend this week off. Most of the week I geocached with Yvettetb but the beginning and end I was on my own. Tuesdays focus area was around the Orakei Basin area and Saint John's. Wednesday we ended up caching in the Waitakeries and finished up in Glen Eden, New Lynn and Waterview. Thursday we geocached around Blockhouse Bay, Green Bay and Titirangi. Today we decided to finish off a few out here before Yvettetb had to leave. I then cached around the Panmure Basin and the new subdivision Stonefields.I out did myself this week. I walked 27,000 steps on Tuesday, 22,406 on Wednesday, 25,500 on Thursday, 15,000 on Friday and 23,800 on Saturday. A big geocaching/walking week. I was keen to return to this area because I'd done the old series around here. With them archived my map looked blank around the Basin. I parked nearby and walked to a few before moving the car and walking again. Luckily I didn't decide to walk the whole track as the pedestrian bridge at the end of Watene Road was closed.Quite a muggle free day today as rain was threatening but never eventuated. I was careful of the barbed wire and found the cache, again, nicely tucked safely away in here. I liked the themed caches. I used to watch this series on TV many years ago with the kids. Thanks for the new hides
Day 20: To Howick and through the Rotary WalkTodays journey took us to the East of Auckland where we spent a little bit of time exploring Howick before I embarked on a long walk from Pigeon Mountain to Panmure via the Rotary Walkway. It was a beautiful walk along the Tamaki River which I really enjoyed. Thanks for all the caches in the area, these will be some of my last caches on this trip to NZ!(End of the cut and paste bit)This is the specific log for this cache: Finally reached the Panmure Basin after a bit of an illegal crossing of the closed Jubilee Bridge. This was the first physical cache of the round, and I am so glad I wore my gloves here. Gingerly plucked the cache from its hide and signed in. Replaced without a scratch at all too. TFTC!
Fred must have wanted a swim as the cache was filled with water. Great one to find after a good look.
Mmm had to use our caching eyes here…. But spotted some barbed wire & aha there is the cache! Great camo TFTC
Find #156. Fredy to get started on this run of Scooby Doo caches, I soon spotted a little mouse darting about the bushes, leading me to the cache. TFTC
Both being Scooby Doo fans as kids, AliGle and I decided to check out this series of caches around the Panmure Basin, together with the Scooby Adventure Lab here. We enjoyed our loop walk here, which was often busy with muggles, so we had to pick the right moments to retrieve some of the caches. Carefully reached through the barbed wire and made a quick fin here. TFTC!
Found with Vistra while doing the Mysteries of Panmure Basin Ad Lab. Loved Scooby Doo as a child so this one totally appeals to my nostalgic inner child. Tftc
Today was the day to complete this series. It has been on my to do list for sometime but today was the 1st time I was in the area and had time. No problem here. Finding retrieving sign and replacing. Thank you for the placement
Thought it might have been in one part of a wall until we found another part of wall which had barbed wire in it. A bit of a reach in to find the cache.
Last one in this series now to solve the mystery. Have loved these caches around here TFTC. Left a swiftmantis art sticker for the next finder
A nice morning walk, pretty quiet around this morning.
Didn't take too long to find this cache with the hint. Onto the next now
Thanks for placing the cache TheCoblets.
Find number 4692.

Checked out the barbed wire first, and thought this would be an unlikely place for the cache to be. So, I stepped back a little and then checked another possible hiding place and was rewarded with the cache.

Fred is still in good condition. A nice quick find. Now we need to go find Scooby! Great hide.
A nice quick find once I'd focussed on the hint. Thanks.
I'm in Auckland to house sit while my mother is overseas visting family. Today started out a blue sky day. I should have got out a bit earlier as it was wet and windy later in the day.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Th is for the placement. Kids are enjoying seeing which character is coming next .
We had to wait for a muggle before this one. Lots of people around by this stage, despite our early start. Tftc
Last for us, quick find, we took a seat out of the sun to work out the Mystery bonus. Thanks
Set off early this morning to complete this series and the earth cache. Lots of people out for their morning walk. Cache in good condition & hidden back in its place. Tftc

Was out exploring this area today as due to COVID restrictions we had not done so for many weeks.
Decided to park by the model train station and walk around on this sunny (but windy!) day.
Read the clue on our first attempt and did a wide search of all the area surrounding - sadly no luck.
Got the numbers from the CO (many thanks) so the final could be completed which was great.
Then came back and found the nice new container in it’s proper position. Be careful of the barbed wire at GZ.

**NZ Mega 2020 is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:**
• 20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
• 20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
• All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of this event - you won't want to miss it!

Checked today and the cache was missing. We have replaced it with a new container.
Please cover it well with the Rocks and be careful of the barbed wire,

Looks like Fred may had gone missing. Will check in the next few days and replace if needed. In the meantime please message us if you need the code number
My son’s eagle eyes found this one! I was scratching my head with the hint, but it all made sense in the end!
Walking around the Panmure Basin to secure the Mystery Machine series - and get some fresh air after lockdown.
A quick find.

Sunday afternoon opportunistic caching by Mr3Pearnuts and two of our geokids. Love the theme! TFTC!
The man the myth the legend himself.
Last one of the traditional, now after the final!
Thanks!

Last of the lot and sad to see the code was missing so unable to make the final puzzle linkage cache. No worries, there will be other days/chances. Nice mini-series and I like that 4 out of 5 characters are still in place.
Part 2 of the caching day involved a drop off at Sylvia Park and a circuit of Panmure Basin for the Earthcache and for the Scooby Doo quintet of trads. Although the drizzle was falling steadily I achieved almost all I sought.
As the hosting of our Whanganui family continued today was a game of 2 halves. First part of the day was a visit to the beautiful Cornwall Park and One Tree Hill. This was followed by a trip out to Sylvia Park for some retail therapy for some of the family and some caching for the remainder of the family (I'm sure people can work out who fits which profile!). The weather was a bit blah, but still good enough to get out into the fresh air. T F T C all COs.

Walking past while completing some requirements for a nearby Earthcache. May as well collect this as well. Scooby-Doo was one of Kiwiscots favorite shows when she was younger. All good. TFTC
Found quickly with the hint. The trap door access points nearby were eerily banging in the wind today, as if someone was trying to escape!
TFTC!
TFTC!
We tried to find this a couple of months ago but my GPS was obviously putting us in the wrong place. On our walk yesterday the kids found it quickly this time. Thank you for the warning about the barbed wire! TFTC
I decided that today, as the weather was so lovely, I would get this series of caches. I had decided to approach the Basin from a different angle only to find it closed off, so I ended up entering at the bridge not far from this cache.
Upon arriving at GZ I found the cache nice and quick, but was sad to find that the C was inside the cache but the number had been peeled off. Not to worry I had a bright idea, Reveurs and Lycurgon had done this series of caches before. I messaged Revuers and soon got the answer back. Lucky. I also dropped off two travel bugs. Thanks for the cache #1009

In the area today after dropping E1R-0T off with friends at Sylvia Park, enjoying the afternoon sun around the lagoon.
I recall having found a few caches around here previously, but noted more had popped up, so had to take a look....forgot to note the intel for the mystery cache in the middle, so had to visit a couple twice.....

#3 of 5. Sunday late morning, a walk with the family to pick up this series. Approached from the wrong side, then found the easier way. Avoided the prickly bit, and found. Nice to see Fred in the box, so just Velma missing. Signed and replaced. All good here. TFTC
