At last! I have driven past this rock many times, but either it was already too dark for a hunt or there was a car just behind me. Not this time. With the last light and free roads I was finally able to pull onto the very short parking area and make the find. After hectic two weeks at work it is great to finally get out caching again. So what is better than road tripping and camping to get away from the trouble. BenM70, thank you for hiding the Micro sized 1.5/1.5 Traditional cache: Great Queensland Trail - Hey Skip.. Best regards GC Diver
Checked to see if this was ok. There is a driveway in just north of the cache but it doesnt look like it but there is plenty of space. Just need to to check if anything is on your ass if you want to use that Still in play
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 99. Ayr to Bowen. I did not have far to go today, but at the first roadside cache I had on my list there was no place to stop with the van, so I went and set up in Bowen before doing any caching. I then did four back towards Ayr, then a long side trip to Collinsville and then a lab in town. In the end I got to see quite a bit of the area and a few coal trains.
The image here seems pretty fresh. The parking is pretty poor, but I was 'just' behind the line, so clambered out for a look. No problems finding this one today.
Thanks for the cache BenM70

On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC BenM70

Day 11 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Today we started the long-haul home. We picked up a few last caches in Townsville on the way out then cached our way South to the Mackay area with Sol de lune and LuckyL10n. It was another long but productive day which included picking up several counties, lots of letterboxes and others in between the intermittent rain. We parted ways with SDL & LL and managed to find a great Caravan Park in Sarina and set up our tents for the last time. We played darts and Trivial Pursuit into the night.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Thanks to all the CO’s.

Found with minniek, Sol de lune and LuckyL10n during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 12 of our Townsville Trek, and we managed a few caches around Townsville today before starting our journey south and towards home. Teaming up with SDL and LL made it an extra fun day. Despite the large number of roadworks going on we made good time. This cache was a pretty quick find of the container once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then we all continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks BenM70 !! Neat Painting !

#14190; Day fourteen of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. Today we set off on our homeward journey. After packing up the geomobile, we collected a few more caches in and around Townsville with fitzy_65 and minniek, before hitting the road, final destination Mackay. Collected a few more caches along the way, including more in the "Armed Services" series south of Mackay before pulling up stumps in Koumala for the night. All caches were found in good order and signed LL, Sdl, f65 and mk or similar. Apologies for the largely generic logs. TFTC BenM70
Day 14 of the road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today all about the caches around town.
The Townsville mega is over and we are leaving town today for the 6/7 day road trip to get home to Canberra. Travelling with fitzy_1965 and Minniek as far as Mackay and we stopped for a few caches along the way...and then it was off the main highway for LBH Naval Series west of Mackay.
Once finished the LBH's, fitzy_1965 and minniek headed for Mackay, while LuckyL10n and I stopped at the Koumala Pub for the night....which turned out to be a great night.
Many thanks again to the CO's of all caches...the LBH series was excellent.

Day 16 of my cycling trip from Toowoomba to the Townsville Mega event. Today I am cycling from Bowen to Ayr, 120km.
There is a good Easterly wind blowing today so I should be able to move along quicker than usual.
I spotted the cache quickly and then I was adding my name to the logbook. ️
Thanks for the cache.

Today’s plan was to make my way from Mackay and arrive in Townsville but nightfall. Caching along the way and grabbing a few important to me caches, lol. It is just a 3.5 hr drive normally however this drive will take me all day and some. I had to be ready for work in the morning so it was a day of find what I could. Some were stops to stretch the legs. I am sorry if I did not write a note below as some caches stood out and others I just do not remember. I signed the log and replaced the cache as I found it. Thanks for placing it here.
There have been a few painted rocks along the way from Brisbane. This one was a great little spot to stop and stretch the legs. I found WiLBA after the fact, lol. very funny.

Loved the art work... lucky we left the van in Bowen for the day so we could go chasing smiles.. no way you could stop with a van on here. Heading back into Bowen for the day, cache hunting...
Vegetation is 2 metres high but once through that an easy 10cm reach in. Thanks. Good break cycling north.
I was about to say this was my furtherest north cache then I realise the nudist beach one at Coral cove is. Tftc
We've moved our caravan from Mackay to Bowen, and are looking forward to finding all the caches in the local area. Ian convinced Penny that a walk was on the cards, and we headed out to see if we could find the last few in town that we hadn't attempted already.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found this cache pretty close to where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Inevitably on a long trip when many geocaches are being found, some get missed. Unfortunately, at the time, this was one of them. So, although out of chronological order, I am logging them today for simplicity. So my apologies for the generic log and the out of date sequence.
Our trip commenced on Friday November 28th and concluded on Tuesday December 22nd. During that time, we visited caches in Maryborough, Childers, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Sarina, Mackay, Bowen, Townsville and Cairns, with other places in between like Proserpine, Home Hill, Ayr, Ingham to name just a few, with many wonderful single stop caches along the way.
Our party consisted of myself, hatzofff, grannysmith1947, and on occasion, youngoldfella.
Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC, BenM70.

Visiting Bowen to pick up a Ute tub liner for BlackPearl26 so it would be rude not to clear out the remaining hides.
Made the instant find and enjoyed the artwork here. Nice location.
Thanks Ben.

Driving to Bowen and actually inviting burgo for once rather than being the other way around.
Despite not caching for a while I was able to come up with most of today's finds.

Hopping up the highway today,
I found skip
Noice bit of art work
Makes a change from the pointless pissing on rocks with spray cans to mark your territory like some cur dog
Cache found where skip told me it would be
"Tut Tut,
Tut, tut, tut,
Tut"

Tftc BenM70, had to bypass this on our way north with the van. Day trip to Bowen and we collected this one. Nice easy find .
Finding a parking spot was harder than finding the cache. Lol. Thanks for bringing us here.
Not the safest place to stop , but after finding suitable parking was a quick find and sign.
Found with orth71 on a trip from Townsville to Bowen.
Not the safest find ever but definately an adventure to cross the highway.

A short drive today from Proserpine, setup at the caravan park and waiting the arrival of DiMorgan, so that we can attempt the 2 remaining FTF caches.
Parkinig a problem, so half the teams jumped out while Mr DiMorgan found a safer parking spot. We were still fluffing around when Mr DiMorgan spotted and retrieved the cache. Smarty pants....... Log signed and returned.

Proserpine - Bowen
An early morning start to to Airlie Beach to cache before moving to Bowen.
Only just a couple of caches found close to the caravanpark. This was further out than we planned but we saw it was unsuitable to stop here with a caravan on, so we decided to go the extra mile to see skippy.
Thanks for placing this amazing series BenM70

I was keeping this one for the 29th to get the souvenir but couldn't wait. ha! The grass was about hip high and thick due to recent rain but I had my big boots and long pants on (work wear) so that didn't bother me at all. A few cars and trucks went past but I was sufficiently off the road and they probably thought I had to stop for a loo break. I had the cache in hand after a couple of minutes (the hint was spot on) and after quickly signing the log, hid it back in its little hidey hole. TNLN TFTC

My 100th cache was meant to be the Big Mango cache but greyfire326 didn’t want to stop on the side of the road on the way back from Mackay so I could grab my 99th cache (Booooo! ) something about it being dangerous. Turns out this was much the same.... especially in a corolla!
It turns out that this cache - my 100th - is still very cool as it is a BenM70 cache. Since I have started caching Ben has been a big help and my ‘geocaching google’ - answering my stupid questions. Ben was the first cacher that I met in the real world in Townsville. Over the past 4 months, he has been there to give me a hand and I have really appreciated his support.
This one is for you BenM70! Thanks! Now... On to the next 100!

Thought this one might have been lost in the fire. Ashes were still warm, but cache was safe in its niche. T4T$
Found by Mary and David at 14:10. Well worth a cache here. We know a South Australian cacher called Skippy. Our thanks to BenM70.
On our way back from a Proserpine day trip, thought we would grab this cache. Was going to get it on the way down but we were on the wrong side of the road and no where to pull over easily.
When heading North there is a convenient little spot to pull over just past GZ.
Amazing little graffiti style mural in the middle of nowhere on a very busy highway. Have to be very careful of traffic, as well as being stealthy in hunt and collection. In hindsight the hint was perfect. Pity we where to busy faking phone calls, selfie shots and hunting in between traffic movements. Even had the train zoom by.
Thanks BenM70 for a cache hidden in the middle of nowhere with a cool backdrop. TFTC

Quick cache on a rocket run up and down the coast. Nice cache. Great artwork on what is a rather boring stretch of road! Great reason to stretch the legs!

Came up from Mackay to do the walk across to the lighthouse.
Pulled over a short distance past GZ.
Walked back and started my search.
Should have read the hint before I climbed up the rocks. Oh Well.
The area has been recently cleaned up but the hide is undisturbed.
Quickly found, signed and replaced.

Quite a dangerous spot on Hwy. No where to pull over or allow orher cars to pass safely.
Hooray! Third to find! (TTF) we had earmarked this cache for FTF but didn’t quite get to it in time. Be careful the road is REALLY busy. We also found at least $3 worth of 10c recyclables good CITO indeed. Found BFE style. TNLN TFTC!
hardest part was getting thru the long grass soon located and signed log TFTC
YES!!! FTF!!!
