Day #13 - The last Hurrah! My last minute WAGB adventure finally comes to a close today. It has been an absolute blast and huge thanks to everyone who was involved in organising and to those that gave me tips and help along the way. Today I made my way slowly to the airport for my evening flight home, via a few more caches.Spotted this one relatively quickly and had it down in no time. Thanks again to @meme28 for the loan of the fishing rod!A big thanks goes to LAXA for taking the time to add Suburban 'FISHING' to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
How cool that we got to meet Laxa as we were on the hunt for this one! After a couple of mods to our pole we got the cache down and a quick sign of the log. Then the fun begins trying to get it back in! Another mod required but we got there in the end. Such good fun and something totally different from all the nanos! Thanks for placing for our enjoyment whilst making memories. Tftc.
Veni, Vidi, ViciHaving finally unlocked premium, its time to catch up on logs. Caching around Perth with BFMC, we found lots of interesting caches. Thanks to all of the cache owners who have placed and maintained caches for us to find.
Hi LAXA, We found your 3.0 4.0 Micro Traditional Suburban 'FISHING' on 25/3/2024.Find 2905 for BFMC.My in WA is off to a solid start, thanks to the CO who turned up as I was staring blindly into the foliage without success!A few days in Perth, first visit here since 2007. Caching with gcrew3220, grabbing what smilies are possible between work committment s. Thank to all the COs whose caches we found.
A while back we did a number of the them fishing caches in town. This trip we had our TOTT for other targets so on coming back through town to the airport recalled there were some others around.
Plenty of looking and couldn’t seem to match the photo so I to the old logs to see it had been slightly repositioned. Spotted it lower than suspected and soon had cache in hand to complete the signing duties before re hoisting TFTC

All good here on a lovely autumn morning in the middle of the week..no one in the park and after a quick reconnoitre it was back to the car to grab the tool and cache quickly retrieved..a brand new log in pristine condition..cache in excellent condition tftc
Another quick find here. Sighted by me and retrieved by Chwiliwr. Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

Today we went on a fishing trip with ilook4geo and scored a good sized catch. There are plenty more still to be caught but this was one that was snagged without any problem. The container was retrieved and a neighbour across the road came over to see what we were doing. He was quite interested as we explained a bit of the game to him. Both names were added to the log and all was then replaced where it was found. Thanks for this cache go to LAXA.
Enjoyed some tree fishing together with goingplaces2, even though the day was very windy. This one was easily found and retrieved. Signing duties were soon done, all was hoisted up again and it was time to move on. TFTC.
found some time today for a long overdue cache maintenance.
the cache was found where it should be hanging.
Happy Fishing

Pleased to be able to stop by here today to grab this cache that started a craze here in Perth.
Almost looked right past the cache when we first arrived but after getting it down a new catch cry for the day was born... “dad do you have your pen?”
Thankfully Mr Z ran back to the car to grab it and we were on our way again.
—————
What was initially intended to be a morning out caching ended up being a whole day out with the two-twins collecting a number of fishing caches before heading to Freo to end our day out.
We managed 10 finds and 0 DNF’s today.

Thanks LAXA for placing this cache for me to find, this is find number 2669 for me.

Quite a few technical issues with this one but we are resourceful and.wont be beaten! Very pleased with ourselves we didn't use too much bad language!
Find 34 of 34 for the day. First we crashed our way around the Harrisdale Swamp, then picked up two suburban fishing caches. Solving the DE Treasure Troves quickly became a relatively easy process via excel macros although there was often guesswork involved - if there was a more direct and unambiguous route we didn't find it. Today was the day to collect on our work!
Driving home and decided to call in on the nearest fishing caches as they are difficult to do when using our normal mode of transport - 7m poles and bikes don't go together. Spent a while craning our necks up at both trees and coming to the conclusion the cache was gone. Said as much to Mrs O and very quickly she picked it up off the ground. The container has been trodden on by an elephant, maybe? The wire is not a loop any more either. Managed to unsqueeze the tin enough to get the log out and sign it Will need some TLC, sorry. Thanks for placing and showing WA this new type of hide, LAXA!

Spotted whilst out for a walk with friends, will have to come back with a fishing rod to retrieve it another time

I definitely wasn’t stealthy here, wearing my bright red and blue hockey uniform hauling a 7m pole. I spotted it fairly quick, had to walk back to the car because I’d forgotten my pen (rookie move), and replacing was slightly longer. My neck thanks you for a quick find here.
Thank you for bringing the idea here. Have a favourite point for your initiative and efforts

After some FTFs in the morning, and having a beer and lunch at Dutch Trading Co in Vic Park, I met up again with Tiger777 to continue the caching run with where we left off prior to lunch.
CO drove past us here and eventually wandered over to say g'day. After a short chat we said cya later to nab a few more caches before sun down! Cheers LAXA!

Mr OOH YEH decided to try his luck with some of the Suburban FISHING caches today. Managed to snag 5 out of 5 so he was happy with his catch. This was the first catch of the day and it was quickly spotted TFTC LAXA
The GeoKids enjoyed this one also, fighting over who was going finishing and who was throwing it back. Thanks for the fun and the cache!
Kapelula and I let the geo kids get this one. We had plenty of laughs but together they were successful in retrieving and returning the cache.
Thanks again to the CO for lending us the equipment enabling us to complete these two great caches.

We have borrowed a fishing stick and have gone suburban fishing. This is number 4 for today and we are getting good at this TFTC LAXA, loving it
Another easy find and retrieval but as usual the putting back was a challenge. I do like fishing tftc
I have never been suburban fishing before and had never heard of it. My son, his daughter and I headed out this afternoon having escaped from baby duties this afternoon. I really appreciate the assistance of the CO in helping me to log this cache. Greetings from Northern Ireland. TFTC
A quorum of the Fott was here so we are retrospectively claiming the find. If that's an issue let us know.
A little fishing trip with some members of the FoTT, AlliedOz, Kyzabra, SVKR_WA & I had an enjoyable couple of hours tracking down these unique hides.
Arrived at GZ to find the CO in attendance to watch our shenanigans, eventually had the cache at ground level to do the signing duties.
LAXA I found your cache at 2:10pm, this was the 1st of 5 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5455. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

A quick get together with some of the regulars for a little fishing fun and any other unfound caches if they cross our paths.
Bumped into the Co at this cache for a laugh at Granett and his pole prowess.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache LAXA you help make this game what it is.
Cheers for the cache

We all arrived in Kyzabra’s car to find the CO and the kids in the park. Granett gave this one a try first and despite a couple of false starts we made the find.
I had been interested in the new “fishing” caches that had been hidden not to far from home in the last few months.
A plan was made to meet up with Granett, Kyzabra and AlliedOz. Granett borrowed the required equipment from one of the COs and we headed out fishing.
In a previous working life I used to use similar equipment to measure the height of shipping containers travelling East by train. This was much more fun.
LAXA SVKR_WA found your cache Suburban 'FISHING' today at 14:09:00 14 Jul 2019.
LAXA - Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment. We love travelling the state and visiting some places that we would only visit due to this game.

Geo-hubby had a day out with iluvtrekking while I attended a course in South Perth. A fun new way to access a cache. Fortunately a quick find between the heavy showers. Thanks LAXA
Did some checking and decided we needed a better rod.Fortunately a very obliging CO was home and met us at gz with his amazing fishing pole it certainly made light work of reeling it in. Really fun cache and so appreciative of the novelty these caches bring to the game a fave
Interesting new cache type. Luckily the gusty wind we have had over the last few days abated, even if only for a short time. Thanks Laxa.
I had read about these types of caches and had prepared for their arrival. With the right tool is not hard to get.
The wind made it much harder to put back.
Thanks for the new style.

Sometimes, things just happen.
Like looking at FB at lunchtime and seeing a post from Fratra that they were going to be nearby attempting a cache that needed a TOTT that I did not possess.
Headed down here after the other fishing cache and happy Fratra leant their tott so everlasting and I could also grab this one.
Very cool concept. Have another fave for something different.
Thanks heaps to LAXA for placing and maintaining Suburban 'FISHING'. Glad to grab an unplanned cache today. I added my name to the log and replaced where I found it.

Well this was a ripper.
I had seen some videos of these caches thanks to the CO and the power of Facebook and YouTube and they piked my interest.
Fast forward and this cache was published so I parted ways with some dollars and ordered a pole of my own online.
I got impatient waiting for it to arrive and contacted the CO who agreed to meet me at GZ.
Rolled up with the wife and she spotted the container and we had good fun retreiving the cache from its position and then putting it back.
A great concept and look forward to more!
Thanks laxa for something different.

YAY — [^][^] — *FTF*@ 10:10am — [^][^]
I saw this cache had been published after I woke from my peaceful sleep this morning, and a couple of things went through my head!
Should I attempt such a cache with absolutely no way of retrieving it [?] ... or
Should I go back to bed [?]
Of course the novelty of the hide (and the D/T) had me intrigued, and i just had to venture down for a look-see.
But first ... some MacGyvering
I call in to the local hardware, and after parting ways with $21 of my hard-earned, i was on my way down the hill. Arriving at GZ almost an hour later, i could immediate see that potentially, the locals might be quite curious as to what i might be up to!. Ahh, to hell with them ... i’ve got a mission to complete [:o)]. I was quickly out of the car to scout the scene and try to spot the lofty container ... BINGO. It’s only just up there. Surely that’s not 7m up to that i thought.
I untied my newly bought gear from the roof rack of the car and carried it over to behind the nearby big tree to assemble it (hopefully) in peace
Once i had it all together, i heaved it skyward ...
Well it bent and swayed, wobbled and tilted ... like a fishing rod with a 300lb Blue Fin Tuna attached to the end of it!! .. then i realised i was a little too short to hook the catch!
I would have to stretch out with one arm holding the darn thing to actually reach! .. even more of a feat to behold [:o)]
I battled for a while before i finally managed to stabilise it enough to get close to the prize.
And with some serious concentration and manoeuvring, i hooked it! With a quick trust upwards, the cache was released from it’s home and it was soon in my hands [^]
I quickly checked the logbook and was pleasantly surprised that there was no names in it [^]. I added ours to the top of the page with a good deal of satisfaction . Looking around, still nobody cared (or noticed me).
Now .. to get it back up there ...
Let me just say this ... getting it DOWN is the easy part. It took me twice as long to place it back on the branch from where it came, but i eventually did it .. YAY. And not one person from any house came to see what on earth i was up to. Maybe they were all watching from inside, and thinking .. i’m not going out there, he’s got a 6m pole to beat me with
TFTC LAXA ... certainly a fun cache, i just wish Janine and the kids were there to laugh at me. They would have been in hysterics
A FP for sure!

Upon publication of this we knew we didn't have enough "equipment" to build what was needed. We have had a few jokes with the CO's today including asking if the required piece of equipment was at home or in their car as we were hatching a plan with Barnzy12 to go and rob their house . Once the ftf was logged we received a message from the CO's inviting us to join Little A and Mr X in the retrieval of the cache and the signing of the log. Even with the specialised equipment it still took some maneuvering to retrieve and replace the cache. Awarding a fave for the adventure and the uniqueness of the cache. Our specialised equipment has now been ordered, so game on .
TFTC LAXA this is find # 6846 for us.
