Out looking for some caches today and enjoying some walks. Looked at the wrong hint objects to start with then Mrs C spotted another. Looked along and found the cache. Thanks for our first visit here and the cache Aslan*.
This is a cool area. Ive never been out here. Found the cache safe and dry, quickly spotted. Find #2500!
A quick find. We used to live in Brooklands until the earthquakes and then sadly we were red zoned. A lovely place to live. TFTC.
Decided to drive up to Brooklands after spending time at Spencer Park beach. Havent been to Brooklands for many years. Sadly not a lot of life these days. Took a few minutes to find this one. Started searching in the rock cages initially but that looked too daunting and they were actually 8m+ from GZ. When I started looking in the correct area, the cache was a reasonably quick find! #6947. TFTC.
I've been out a couple times, to collect this one but there's always been someone nearby! Today was different though, so I had no issues. TFTC Aslan*, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 1 today, making this find #4569
Up this way for a work related reason that has been tagged onto our holiday. Luckily for me there was an extra person who took over from me, leaving me free to Geocache. I've never travelled these streets in the immediate area before. An ideal place to bring someone who is just starting to learn to drive. I founded around for a while but once I took the time to observe my surroundings I changed my search area. All dry within. Thanks.
Good little score, left a lil photo from my last cache today in there too with a little swap token
Been meaning to get this one for a while now. Feels like spring so good time for some caching
BaldEd and I rode our bikes from Kaiapoi out to Brooklands to locate and sign off a few caches.
This is one for me only as he already had a smilie for it.
Cheers for the cache, Aslan.

I was out and about this morning finding exploring different areas and finding a few caches along the way. I am fascinated by these lost properties. The stories they could tell would be amazing. Found the cache after a short search. TFTC, Biggles.
Some big ol spiders hiding about! but i quick flick off the cache and signed TFTC
Coordinates spot on for me, however first checked out some larger items nearby; TFTC
Was looking in the wrong spot for a bit but after checking the hint and refocusing it was a quick find. Nice spot here, TFTC!
Never been out here before, reminds me of red zone in town.. peaceful and quiet, thanks Aslan for another great hide
JD and I decided to have a campervan getaway. It was just an overnight trip to Spencer Park. Now that we found the cache we're going to bike to a cafe in Kaiapoi for lunch.
Thanks for hiding this cache Aslan* I appreciate it.

200th cache and it's a Aslan thank you for all the great finds so far I look forward to the next 200 tftc
Was just about to dnf this. I realized the cache was probably bigger than I was expecting so out I get and searched again. Found tucked down deep in leaf litter. Great area to visit if somewhat sad that people's homes have been taken away. Thanks for bringing us here Aslan*
Returned later for another look and after digging deep in the leaf litter it was there thanks
I remember the cafe that used to be nearby. It was a magic place with such a view. Took my Mum there for a cuppa once and she passed in 1998. Cache is an easy find and all safe and dry. TFTH and the memories Aslan*
12 January 2022 10:08. First cache of the day. How did I overlook this one when I was last here? No problems like that today, TFTC.
I haven’t been geocaching in ages, but I’m picking it up again as I take a few mental health days off work. This is a lovely quiet spot to come, even on a dreary day — cheers!
Found this for the second time, must have forgotten to log last year. Now in the log book twice. Muggle near by made this harder then Needed
After some nearby work, scrambled to make the find. weird coming back here after all the clearance, friends had a house nearby. Thanks for the effort that goes into placing and maintaining a cache.
Decided to walk the area for a change of scenery for us. Such a great place to wander. Found the cache easily enough. TFTC.

Quickly found on a caching expedition after the weather changed for the better. TFTC!
I hadn't been out this way for ages - some years, I think. It used to be almost an "alternative lifestyle" kind of area, so sad ..... I've just spent the afternoon at Pines Beach/Kairaki, a similar kind of place, really,
Thanks for this cache, Aslan*.
Thanks for this cache, Aslan*.
A nice easy find at the end of the road.
I was muggled by two K9s (Boxers - one stereotypically bouncy), but no sign of a two legged one anywhere. Got the log signed and I was back in the car before they heard a whistle and left.

Nice easy find while out for a run in the area. Hard to believe its been ten years, very desolate area in 2020. TFTC
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on a lunch time excursion on a pleasant winters day to this part of town to find five caches for a challenge we have set ourselves.
It's been a while since we have been to Brooklands, and agree it is a shadow of its former self. There were a few vehicles and muggles near GZ, but we were hidden from sight, though I do wish SW had worn something more camoed than his bright orange sweatshirt! Didn't take long to find the cache. TFTC.

#18227. Despite there being a handful of houses in this "suburb", GZ was surprisngly busy (a couple of people out on the mudflats and a couple of people very close to the cache). Thankfully the cache didn't take too long to locate. TFTC.
A quick detour on our way home from the City.A car was parked closeby, but we found the Cache just out of their view..TFTH
After a dnf at Karaka Concealment I needed cheering up. Quick find. Place is alot different to the last time I was here pre quakes. TFTC and the memories
Wow, I've never been out here before and it's looking a bit empty isn't it. I'm sure it was a nice place to live before and it's sad to see. A quick hunt around and success. Cheers
After an afternoon at Spencer Park, we took a detour on our way home to look for this cache. It was a quick find. TFTC.
Came out to bottlelake forest for a bike ride...this cache not far away so detoured to it and the equally nearby TMTG. Nice quiet wee spot....just a few whitebaiters in the dustance (tide was out)...Cheers.
The cache was a quick find and I am doing the 360 Trail with the Breeze Walking Festival.
Thanks for this cache. We have not been here for a while and it is still devastating to see the red zone. We cannot imagine how hard it must have been for the families to leave their homes. And we are wondering how a handful can still live there - without neighbours and a community aside. A reminder of what we went through.
A nice quick find as there was no one about. Quite sobering seeing all the mowed and fenced areas knowing people's homes were here. Thanks for the hide.

A quick and easy find. Had to wait ages for the American cruising car to cruise on off. Cheers
Found on a wee drive.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

After waiting 20 minutes for people to leave the spot we gave up and drove to another area by the river. Then we went back, found they'd gone and found the cache. Thanks.
My GPS was semi-dead, so I used daughter for navigation instead! Quick find, TFTC!!

Wanting to increase my calendar days to a minimum of 11 finds per day eventually, today was a good day to find 1 geocache. Not too bad! And if I found one today, that would also mean that June is complete! So I was pretty keen to go somewhere.
Went here then, and had a quick find. My daughter had however spotted the playground in kainga out the car window, so we had to stop there on the way back home - and spent a very very long time there!! Haha.
TFTC!!

I stopped by here before work today, I was surprised at the number of people still living out here. I frightened a white faced heron on the water as I approached gz, and he looked very graceful flying over the water. The hide was soon found. Tftc!
To continue with my personal challenge of changing my daily finds to a different shade of green I needed to find one cache today. But the cold winds this morning had me delaying my proposed cyclocache ride to after lunch. Even so there was still a pretty cool southerly blowing when I set off at 1345. 8.4km later I was at GZ and quickly located the cache. With signing duties done I biked back via the stopbank to Stewarts Gully and then home via the road. Thanks for the cache placement Aslan*.
