Found on our journey from Western Australia. With Caperdoodle 2. Visiting maffra for a wedding and got some geocaching in. Took two tbs a we are travelling around.
Cache was found after a short search. Then the fun started. Got there in the end. Thanks for the fun. Cleaning up Victoria with gridge98. We are on a mission this week. Completing twenty finds in Mexican local government areas is the challenge. Another find with the correct criteria. It is in Victoria and we have not accumalated twenty finds in this local government area.Today was the day to find this cache. Today is Fryer's day the eighteenth day of the octavus month of the Roman calendar in the wonderful year of twenty twenty four. We found your cache container and added some inky stuff to the paper sheet or note pad you have supplied for a log book or scroll. The cache container and log book or scroll were in good condition. It was a bit windy today. It was so windy today. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. Worked out what we needed and arrived at GZ, the cache was found after playing around. Cache signed and returnedTravelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. Thanks for the cache
Neither of us are all that keen on finding caches on private property, silly I know but there it is, and usually M stays in the car but luckily today he came to investigate. It was him that worked out what was missing while I was still standing there looking puzzled. I knew I kept him around for something! Thanks for find #6425TNLN
Cache # 11245 on 25 Apr 2024Decided to take advantage of the ANZAC day holiday and make a long weekend of it - added a road trip with Bobl27 to the mix and all is set for a fun few days. We are travelling from home in the ACT to Victoria via Cooma and then doing a relaxed loop to Melbourne picking up a few caches and counties along the way. And then straight up the Hume home! No tricky DTs or long walks this trip. This cache: last one for the day, but first one for this county. A quick review of the box at the final coordinates suggested what was needed, and it was indeed correct!! Decided not to take any swag this time! Thank you pullw for the cache and the fun!
With Wombatwandering on our second day Melbourne to Canberra for the Mega via Gippsland. WW loves TBs so this was an essential stop. We were about 5 hours late in our trip to Canberra but couldn't go past this.
A fun letterbox. Worked out what we needed and then we were able to sign the log. I love that these sort of caches exist. Swapped trackables and then it was off toward some smoke which gave us a bit to worry about. Found with ConnieandRick on our way to Canberra. FP!
After staying at Blores Hill campground near Heyfield overnight, we spent the day travelling through Maffra, Sale, Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance and across to Tostaree Cottage farmstay just east of Nowa Nowa, sightseeing and finding a few caches along the way. Enjoyed the fun cache hide! Thanks for the cache pullw!
Back on the mainland, after nearly 3 months in Tassie. So nice to have avoided all the excessively hot weather.Staying nearby before heading to the east coast. Grabbing a few hides along the way. I'm always a little warry when doing caches at a residence but spotted the owner in his garden, so had a chat before actually opening the hide, with a little help. Took a few Travel Bugs to continue their journeys. Thanks pullw for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
A quick and easy first letterbox cache. Couldn't retrieve any trackables so dropped one off instead. TFTC pullw#92
#6360.
We were visiting friends in the area and decided to explore Maffra for the afternoon. This was our first cache in town and a great one too. The kids loved finding a larger container for a change. Thanks for creating this cache for us to find! FP awarded.

Visiting Maffra for the first time we sought out a couple of caches to sign. After driving 75 metres north from the given coordinates we located the cache or what we hoped was. With a hunch we got the code right on the first go and had access to the logbook. Took 1 TB and left our cow with the Whittlesea Mega ear tag to start its journey in the never never! We thought the cow was appropriate for this dairy area.

Was so nervous to go up to it but we did it. I did take the travel bug and have logged it
Over obligatory coffee, the TKB's made plans to go searching around Maffra on the first day of daylight savings.
Absolutely love this geocache! I was given the honors of retrieving the cache AND DISTRUBED A HUNTSMAN! Kashbound needs glasses!

This has been on the list for a while and I'm here today with kbucky and Tiz13 got a bit of a nudge on what to do here so kbucky had the honers here as l was thrown the container after a massive 4mm spider was woken up after we stopped laughing we added our signatures and replaced...TFTC pullw
Took a few attempts to get into this letterbox - I had the right idea but my idea had to be manipulated - good thing the CO was on hand - had a quick chat while I stamped my book. Pullw then issued me a challenge to solve his nearby cache on the rail trail. I already had it on my list, so challenge was accepted....Go check it out see if you can figure out what I couldn't - it really is a nice contraption - if only I knew how to work it.
This was such a great little spot. The code was a good little trick. Definitely a fav
Suscoe decided to head out to the Maffra area today.
Another delightful late Autumn day with some sunshine, but a cool breeze to keep us company.
What beautiful countryside and we enjoyed our travels.

Find # 10806
Found while travelling with sharkiefan, on an extended long weekend.
A bit of a late start due to last night being a rather late one / early morning . We stayed local to cache around the area. Grab some puzzles and a couple of the series. Ups n downs all day. A few great, noteworthy, finds and some frustrating DNFs to add to the list.
Once again we ended up in Maffra to find a couple more up there and once again another interesting day had.
Knew what to do and got the LB quick. A bit of a google check and we found the required number to get to the log book.

*Cache find # 12234.*
Today I headed off on a two day trip wayout East as I was needing two more maps for the UBD map challenge but along the way I stopped of at a few other caches of interest.
I was now passing through Maffra but there were a couple of caches I wanted to find here before continuing on my way.
I am always on the look out for letterbox caches so I had to make a stop at this one.
I arrived at the cache and had to think about the next part to the puzzle, after a while the penny finally dropped and I had gained entry to the log which was stamped and I was then on my way.

Day 5 of the Bring In The New Year (BITNY) road-trip and a big day it is with my 6000th cache milestone, coinciding with the completion of the mammoth Victorian Premiers Challenge. Some LGA caching is thrown in also as we head back towards Melbourne.
A nice letterbox that had us soon scouting around the front of a house and signing a log! A nice twist on this type of cache.
Thanks pullw for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

DAY FIVE: Traralgon, Morwell, Heyfield.
A clever letterbox cache. We had the lock open in no time.

I drove Aquilus1 around Victoria, it was a great trip and some great sights were seen. It was actually very relaxing not being involved in where/what we were collecting....I should do it again sometime. Thanks for making me come, it cheered me up no end.

Nice letterbox. Took a few minutes to work out the combination but not too long.
Trip log: I have had a trip in mind for a while now, a 'Victoria loop' which would see a number of counties travelled through but also visit the last active Web Cam left for me in Australia and a 2000 cache which would see my Ausmer complete! A trip would not be complete without some company so a little convincing and a suitable friend was talked into coming along... and for good measure they would drive and keep me from getting myself into too much trouble while at it!
Counties featured high on my list, but each one filled with quality... oldies, larges, and types that where sought. As is the way the list led to a varied and interesting trip with some very amazing locations discovered along the way.
Day one saw a lot of distance travelled but just four caches found for the day, all quality and after a trip up Mt Buller late in the day we settled into the finest lodgings Mansfield had left.
Day two started well and the highlight among many was GC7A with my Ausmer complete but a great cache location and the gate installed for easy access was a hit. Our journey took us onto a number of locations and through the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It was here with the light drizzle that settled into solid rain that I was thankful of my driver who calmly followed my directions despite the conditions as I juggled caches on my list to replace the walks the rain and the 13 degrees weather had made too uncomfortable. Ending the day cold and wet in Dandenong the accommodation made up for the previous nights and the local pizza sure did hit the spot.
Day three saw a return to lovely weather with us driving the guard rail hwy... endless guardrails on all roads. Frankie the Gnome wasn't on the list but too hard to miss as we passed! Down to Mornington Peninsula and through some interesting locations towards Lakes entrance and stopped in Bairnsdale overnight.
Day four and after a little local caching around the 'lakes' area on another lovely day, it was the long haul up towards Eden. The 2020 fires devastation was enormous as we drove through the endless winding road with all the fluffy looking regrowth. Crazy to think back to that time and see how nuts it all was. Another full day but made it safe and sound back home again.
Many thanks to all the CO's for your caches that led us on an enjoyable journey through some interesting locations with great places visited along the way..

There aren’t enough letterbox caches around, always love when I can find one. Nearly didn’t try for this one after seeing it out front of a house. Thankfully the area looked quiet so I did and it was easy enough to gain entry. One travel bug dropped in as well as a couple of small swaps, 3 travel bugs taken.
Thanks for a great cache, left a favourite point!

I found GZ quite easily, then had a total mental blank. I just couldn't think how to find the required code. I made a desperate PAF and returned later to open and sign the log.

Was a bit worried about looking suss here, but no-one was out about, must’ve all been in having their tea. We guessed what was missing from the comfort of our car, then had to stop myself from doing a little jig when we saw we were right. The cache was soon opened and we were happily adding our name to the log book. Thanks for something a bit different. TNLN, SL, TFTC
We have had our daughter, her husband and their two kids staying with us during the COVID lockdown so that we could look after the kids whilst they were in lockdown. They have just left as school goes back in Melbourne, so we are taking advantage of our new freedom and set out to find a few geo caches. Our stats for 2020 are looking pretty woeful, and very different from what we had planned! At least the weather gods are on our side today. These been extensive wind and rain over the past few days and there are minor flood warnings out for a few of the local rivers. Today is bright and sunny, and we’ve worn our waterproof shoes! Caching today with Rebel Acts-it’s so nice that we can share outside activities like this since the easing of COVID restriction in regional Victoria.
We are also collecting the Seven Wonders of the World icons. Having completed the first 7 we are now well into the ancient wonders.
We initially headed to the wrong spot, and after being questioned by a local continued on our journey to the right spot. Made a logical deduction (we thought!), but ended up jumping the wrong way. Got it on our 2nd attempt. We’re amused to see the advertising brochures taking up space in the letterbox

The weather was looking good , with restrictions lifted in regional Vic We could now do outdoor activities with others so I teamed up with My local caching Friends Ski Pair to head out to East Gippsland and do some caches, armed with My mask and Sanitizer, We had a great day exploring the region, this is one of the caches We found today. We almost went to the wron house but we soon had that sorted nad the cache was in hand on our second guess.

With the relaxing of some of the restriction I am enabling this cache again in anticipation of being to get out and about again. Yahoo!!
Due to the Corona 19 virus I think this cache is best to disable for awhile. Being in a small subdivision I think it is not appropriate for people to be visiting. Hopefully this passes soon so in the meantime stay safe, keep your distance, wash your hands and isolate if you can
On a smokey January day, we decided to do a cache run. This was an unusual letterbox. Felt very exposed in the middle of a suburban type street. Cache found, little mystery solved, log signed. TFTC pullw.

A very nice little set up. Took my sister with me who was kind enough to set off the car alarm while I was securing the cache again. I should of left her at home. She is 43 and still follows me around. She never came to visit us when we both lived in Canada but I come to Australia and she comes to visit. Sigh...
Anywho... a fine cache and off we go for another adventure.

After having moved on to a new camping spot this morning, we headed out to do a caching tour of the Maffra and Stratford district with ilook4geo. It was overcast and cooler but no rain happened till late afternoon and then it was very light.
We found a variety of caches and some took longer than others to pinpoint. This one was a successful find and with a little bit of thought the container was soon in hand. Log was signed, all was replaced as it had been found.
Thank you to pullw for this cache placement. Favourite point given for this one.

Out on a caching hunt with goingplaces2 while staying nearby. Found an assortment of caches and added both names to each log that was located. It was a good day with more smileys added to the tally. Enjoyed finding and opening this one. TFTC.
We were away for the weekend for our anniversary staying at Stratford which is one of the closest towns to The Billy Goats Gruff cache which we wanted to get to finish the Ausmer Challenge. That was successfully achieved yesterday so today heading home via Maffra we decided to check out the caches in this lovely town and this was next on the list. Info gleaned we soon accessed the cache and took 4 TB's and left 4 TB's

Out caching for the day, I decided to stop and try my luck at this one. We headed this far afield to visit a friend of MontsII’s from his primary school days. We realised what was missing and soon had access to the log. Thanks for placing the cache pullw, it’s great to find caches where the co has gone to effort!
I finished up with my first patient with enough time to spare to grab this little gem on the way to Briagolong for my next patient. Easily spotted and I took to technology to help me sort out my next step (probably should have done it the manual way but generation X over here) Three TBs came for the ride with me. TFTC pullw! Nice property too!
