Found with goldielover after doing the 3Capes hike. We moved up the road to a little town Orford. A nice place to visit and a great base camp for the two days it took to complete. This has to be the best power trail I have ever done. The amount of work you and some helpers have put into these is a credit to you all. I think this is the first power trail I have done also, with a 100percent find rate. All your co-ords were perfect and you had us going on a few of the trickier hides. We were stunned at the quality of most of them as well. If I had more favourite points to give, I would have. If these had been stand-alone caches, I am certain you would have more favourite points in the bag. When goldielover solved these back in Brisbane it was our intention to quickly grab them and accumulate a few badly needed favourite points. This trail is not how it worked out. I have finished with less than I started. It is a real pity I can't remember exactly each of your caches individually but i have given favourite points along the way.Sorry for the generic log. I have a hundred or so to do.Once again, thanks heaps for your great series. It has been a real pleasure to complete.TFTC
it was time for lunch so we high tailed it to the picnic area and this amazing hide. very nifty and kept us guessing until the realisation! cheers!
Great hide found with a torch at midday.Wonderful spot for lunch. We stopped a while.27 June 2024 12:03pmGeocaching in Tasmania with catnap777 on our honeymoon. [:X] [:X] Does it get any better than this? This was our second bite at the snake. Back in 2022, cat' and I completed a big chunk of it, but were thwarted by a grader moving way too slow, and a clock whose hands moved way too quick. This time, heading south from Rheban to Kellevie, we managed to sneak past the grader (yes he was back again, or still at it), and we did this stretch starting much earlier in the day. [^] We even picked up a couple we had DNFed last time. TFTC&Series The Snake Charmers. We especialy loved the variety and enginuity of cache hides in this series, and your abilty to hide and maintain so many larger caches in plain sight is astounding. [^]
27 June 2024 11:33 .Our third day in Tasmania after a wonderful couple of days caching Melbourne on the eve of our wedding, and working our way to Geelong ready to board the ferry here for our honeymoon. Sunday 23rd of June, to Saturday 29th of June, 2024, will forever be etched in our memories for all the right reasons. The Apple Isle sure turned on some awesome weather for us, you would not have believed it was June. This series was started on back in 2022, but we had to leave a few as the grader was working this section of the road, and we had run out of time anyway. Blow us down, but the grader was here at this same stretch again, but this time we were here early and they were just starting so we were able to get the job done without bothering them, or they bothering us.*There was one dnf, and 2 we couldn't get to because log trucks were working that section*dalerious and I enjoyed working through each puzzle, and we particularly enjoyed the variety of puzzles.Although I have used the above few paragraphs throughout logging this entire series, the information about the cache, hide and location will be found after the asterisk *. Unless there was status quo.
Today we headed out to complete more of the TTSS series. I thought the first few we had done were pretty good but then was blown away by some of todays hides. Brilliant, what a power trail and what a lot of effort, time and money youve put into this series. World class. We completed around 40 today leaving us with a big day for tomorrow. Fingers crossed the grading work doesnt interfere with finding tomorrow. Found some epic hides today which if there were such a thing as a golden FP they would be super worthy. I think I found a top 5 ever find today it was that good.We had a super day, lovely picnic lunch along the way. Husband hates power trails but even he enjoyed this one, maybe not the blood sucker that attached itself to him found before his shower tonight .Id messed up one lot of coordinates but luckily our perch on the hill for lunch we got 2 bar of 4G so I could fix that one up and make the find, yay. We found everything we looked for today which was a massive bonus.Big thanks to the COs for this stupendous series. Giving out FP here and there for the series as well as for all the fantastic ones Im embarrassed by how long this took to spot. We would have liked to have done the walk here sounds interesting if only we didnt have more caches to find . TFTC
TFTC. Over the past two days I have been working my way through the snake series. I had a couple of DNF's and a couple of incorrect co-ordinates and I believe one or two missing caches. The weather was beautiful although cold. All caches were incredibly well constructed and it must have taken considerable time and many visits to get this all set up for our enjoyment. This is the generic part of the log, for some I have added a bit more detail. Thanks you Stainless-steel-rat and gooseandegg, and anyone else who assist you have excelled. I have never driven this road before.Again, I have seen plenty of these hide types and again this is a particularly good one.
An early start for the day as Im planning on making a bit of a dent in the TTSS series.A beautiful sunny day spent in the Australian bush finding some very sturdy cache containers all the while enjoying some fresh, clean Tasmanian air.TFTC The Snake CharmersKeep smiling
Today we are tackling the TTSS, after spending some time solving all the coords. My score was 2 leeches (that I know of...haha) super clever hide, adding another FP. Tftc
Taking some time off to explore more of the apple isle with RoamingHowie. Day Four: Orford, Triabunna, TTSS series and various caches & AdLabs along the way.

It was time for a return trip to Tassie to explore the southern part of the state. I paired up with OzHockeyChick for a 5 day caching blitz with some sightseeing in between. Today was Day 4 and we headed north east from Port Arthur to Orford and Triabunna via the TTSS trail with the sun shining all the way.
Finally working our way along TTSS and what a fantastic trail it is, far from a smash and grab powertrail!. Well thought out, good parking locations and great quality hides with some real treats thrown in. A very cool picnic area and a great hide.
Thanks stainless-steel-rat for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

Checked on this one and it's still in place and so are the leeches, I only collected one and not four like the last finder.
Cache ready to be found.
Cache ready to be found.
One of only 4 caches we didn't find in this series. We did a couple of laps of the structure then realised that Mrs Beetle had fallen victim to a leech. Then we realised we had many other leeches trying to attach themselves to us. Then some muggles arrived so in the end we gave up. Did wonder if anyone has ever bled to death while caching before?? [See attached photo]
We'll be back as we hate being beaten by what is obviously a great hide. Thanks.

We enjoyed this location, the BBQ area and picnic shelters were a nice spot to stop for a bite to eat.
Loved the sneaky hide on this one.
While visiting on holidays we attended a few Cache Events and everyone has said we have to do The Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series.
Finally we've got around to it and completed the TTSS over a few days.
A couple of hours one day, a full day the next and a couple more hours on the third.
We thoroughly enjoyed finding all the caches, there was a nice mixture of containers and some very cool hides.
From now on when other Geocachers ask what are the good caches in Tassie, we'll be recommending they do this series as well.
Well done to all involved in setting the series up, the effort you all put in was fantastic.

A group of 11 of us from New Zealand came over to cache in Tasmania, stayed at Hadley Orient Hotel in Hobart for 3 nights, then 3 nights at Launceston. This is our last day here. Tonight it's back to Hadley's then fly out tomorrow afternoon. G-2 is our nominated driver and Pagenz (our tour director) and me are in our rental. We return the car in a few hours but we know we'll not finish this power trail, just not enough time.
My first impression was seeing that tree with the boardwalk surrounding it, the etched in holes where the planks were inserted in order to cut down the tree. We have several trees like that in New Zealand, but not cut down though, a few in the Waitakerie ranges, west of Auckland, but the biggest more impressive ones are up in the Coromandel peninsula in the forest along what's called the 309 road, metal road, but a short walk brings you to a Kauri tree with a big boardwalk, you can touch the tree and it's about 2.8m in diameter.
The cache was cool too, and I have one exactly like it! Great minds think alike. A FP here too off course.

Find 33 of 43 during a day first spent amongst the fir trees, then on a lunchtime walk around Sorrell, the TTSS run from Kellevie to Rheban and then an evening walk around Swansea.
Would have liked to do the walk but time was running out. Mr O went all round on hands and knees here, Mrs O just went straight to it. That's annoying. Nice hide, worth a fave.
TFTC stainless-steel-rat!

We’ve been meaning to come back up Wielangta road for a while now but the weather and other things have always intervened.
Today was the first opportunity in three weeks to come up this way with nothing else scheduled and no rain according to the bureau, though it did rain twice but not for long.
We planned on entering Wielangta road from the south to look for our only DNF in series, and also to grab a traditional near Copping that we missed last time.
We drove straight past the trad as there was caravan parked at GZ and decided to get it on the way back.
It started to rain semi heavily as we headed towards Wielangta road, and it was still raining when we arrived at “TTSS - Round the twist” - our only DNF in the series from a month ago. The rain had stopped by the time our half hour search ended but we hadn’t found the cache.
So we drove further up the road planning to have another look for that one the way back. While the road was a lot busier than it was the last couple of times that we had been here we only had one cache where we had to come back because of muggles.
We kept going up the road collecting all the caches on the way including many that will get favourite points.
We also collected the TTSS caches on Earlham road and Rheban road, doing Earlham first and then onto Rheban which we followed up to spring beach before coming back down Wielangta from the north to get the nine caches there that we missed last time.
We managed to find to all fifty three caches in this series that we hadn’t yet found, including Round the twist. We also found the Copping cache as well as one other to make a total of fifty five finds for the day.
The time and effort put into this series is incredible, as are the cache locations, names and, of course, the containers.
We missed this one the way up as a pair of muggles were standing close to GZ. No muggles around on the way back so we stopped off to have a look for the cache. After ten minutes of searching Zozetta found it while I was looking in a different place. Wonderful cache one of the best in the series. Favourite point given.
Thanks for placing and maintaining the series The Snake Charmers!

Really annoyed that we had to miss this one the other day due to a group of muggles camping in the area. Had the opportunity to head back and have another try today so I took it! Took some time but found it eventually. A very sneaky cache this one! Tftc
After solving all of this series a few days ago in preparation we decided to see how we would go today. The goal for today was 100 finds in a day.
We ended up looking for 92/105 of this series (and found 9 others to reach 100) and only had one DNF.
The cache containers were all well sized and it never got boring with a lot of nice hides. Several favourite points were given out.
Thanks to gooseandegg and stainless-steel-rat for the series.
Saw something sus and it indeed turned out to be an imposter. FP for this cache.

This one took a while but eventually the cleverly hidden cache revealed itself. Doing the TTSS with hellyonfire today. Some very nice caches along the way. TFTC
Exploring Tasmania with hellyonfire cache by cache. The weather has kept us on our toes and our ears frozen, and we enjoyed every moment. Thanks to all the cache owners for the creative hides and/or great locations.

We so wanted to find this one as there were so many likes but no such luck. Did find a snake though. Will be back.
Second day In Triabunna today, going to tackle some more of the snake letterbox run. Worked this series out several weeks ago. Thanks to The Snake Charmers for the caches. Favourite point for this cache.
Solved all of these before coming to Tassie.
I knew I wouldn't get them all due to terrain and time but did what I could.
A big thank you to all the CO's that have contributed to this series.
Sorry for the generic logs.

Too clever for words, almost gave up when Peter said.. look a at this! Definately a favourite.TFTC
Today is our second day on this series. We went back to where we got muggled out yesterday afternoon and then started again. We really enjoyed our day, found most of those we searched for and met up with another team along the way. Always great to meet up with others that share this strange obsession of ours, thanks for the chat jodie.rose and Oscar. Favourite points added to the caches we liked best but overall thanks for such a great series, great effort
Great cache that took some looking ( thanks GH for finding) and a great location to. FP
Trip log: Day 4 of 5 with GreyHams on our Tasmanian Caching Trip. A trip planned with counties, and caches of quality as we pass. If your cache made our list it had a quality we sort... thank you for your cache!
Today's focus was the TTSS, so many letterboxes - we had more to do than time allowed but the focus was to try for as many as we could, and all of the larges. With the colder weather that was okay but forcast of rain and possible wet muddy roads, well, this was about to get fun!
As it happened we never did get the rain, it wasn't so cold and the roads were not really muddy but oh did we still have fun! definitly the BEST letterbox series I have ever completed and I will go as far as to say I doubt it can be topped. I gave out SO many FP's, the names of the caches, the containers, ALL the larges and the humour. It just kept giving and we just kept going taking our time and enjoying each creative letterbox along the way.
Out of time on the series it was off to each new county we still had to complete... and they needed to be completed by the end of the day. A night time wildlife encounter drive delivered a huge number of wombats and little hoppy things, we luckily avoided them all as we wound our way through forests in the dark along the way into Launceston for the night.
Super enjoyable day through the typical amazing and changing scenery Tasmania has to offer.

One of the best series I have ever done. So many great containers.....in fact most of them were fantastic. The names, so funny, so well done. I am giving every one a FP as they nearly all were awesome in some way

Aquilus1 and I have been on a mission.....a mission to collect Australian states/counties. The target this time was Tasmania, with neither of us having found a cache yet in Tassie. So a loop was planned, starting/finishing in Lonny (even the plane pilot called it this!! Love that!). I was driving so my logs are a little more generic than Aquilus1's, my apologies.
Day #1 Leave Canberra at sparrows, transiting through Melbourne and collecting our car....first things first was to get the oldies along the cataract gorge, which was great as Aquilus1 had never been to Tassie before and its a great place to start. Onwards up the Tamar and then zigzagging across through Devonport, Burnie and eventually ending at Stanley.
Day #2 had us go back to Devonport for a FTF......yay! Then onto Hobart, via Queenstown! Long day through blizzards, hydro power and SO MUCH NOTHING! Beautiful nothing of course
Day #3 around Tassie.....into Huon valley, freezing to death in the water in Clarence, passed Port Arthur to see some caves and ending up in Sorrell
Day #4 was power trailing large letterboxes until we had to head back north to Lonny, via Buckland, Oatlands, Fingal and Scottsdale..... dodging wildlife after dark.....so scary!
Day #5 was a quick duck over to Flinders and back..... car rental place thought we were nuts! Then back to Canberra, safe and snug under my blanket for the -5 night.....now THATS cold!

Found with gwd.aussie while enjoying a tassie caching adventure. Before leaving Victoria we solved many caches so there are plenty of caches we want to grab (not only solved caches but old caches, favourited caches, challenges and caches that help with challenges) however sadly we will not be able to find them all.
Had a coffee and biscuit while we make the find.
Thanks The Snake Charmers

Well this took me longer than it should. I should have resorted to the hint faster.
This one was discovered by mr_johna while i was busy searching somewhere else entirely.
A great spot for a piknik. I am truly surprised nobody's come out here to hide one on or near the end of this two hour jaunt in the bush.
This one gets a favourite for the stealthy execution, love it.
Nice big old duck too. Once upon a time.
This cache works out to now be my 2800th find, a little mini-milestone i'm already guiltily past the next one though, eep!
Thank you !!

I spotted the hide, and said "it's within 1m of where I'm standing"... still blanks.
A cleverly hid container in a nice rest stop. Unfortunately, I left my lunch behind in the fridge at home.
I solved the Tiger Snake series soon after it came out. But had been holding off on collecting them as I had an ambition to complete them all in a day. In order to do that, I thought I would need some help from another cacher, or a driver, or both. As it happened, the stars were aligned and a trip was in order today, with a driver who is (until today) a muggle, and not used to travelling with passengers as she's more for 2 wheels than 4. We set off at 5:00am from Hobart, collecting the third member of the party (smallwombat) from Huonville, had an over-priced toastie and coffee at Sorell and picked up a couple of caches in Copping before starting the Wielangta Road southern end around 08:20am. As it turned out, our designated driver knew Wielangta Road very well as her sister lives on it! Our journey took us up to the picnic area, onward to Orford for lunch (because muggins here left his lunch - not onion sandwiches but ham cheese vegemite tomato lettuce and onion in the fridge, and muggins here also forgot to mention to one member of the party to bring some) and back down with the aim of tackling Rheban Road back up to Spring Beach. A research mistake meant that my assumption of which bridge was out was incorrect, and only busted once we were on the wrong end of Rheban Rd and could see the bridge in question at about 4pm. It was at that point that we decided to "call it" and not travel back up to Orford, back down for 13 caches, back to Orford and back to where we were because that would make us late for an impromptu visit for our driver that was locked in. In the end we had 12 non-TTSS finds for the day; and all of the TTSS series found bar the 13 past the (missing) bridge on Rheban Road. Muggins here might have accidentally written the wrong date in a few caches. The pace of some of the finds - I was barely remembering my name to write in the logs. Smaller logs were signed as "JA/SWB/E" or similar. There are some truly excellent caches on this series and many of the titles and hints were met with surprise, chuckles and the occasional dad-joke groan. I have tried to leave fav points but I don't think I have enough. I really appreciate the effort that The Snake Charmers have put in scouting locations, making and placing these caches, and maintining them for our enjoyment.

Today was our first day of this big tour through this forest.
Thank you for all your work with this amount of caches!

This was a very pretty little spot with an excellent geocache to find as well !
Although a vehicle was parked here, we presumed that they were on the walk as they were not to be seen anywhere.
Thanks for the cache, The Snake Charmers !

Day Two of attempting to tame the serpent and putting it to the Snake Charmers ! The day starts bright and windless. Looks like its going to be a warmish exercise. Continuing to do the "paper work" now the day after. A bit showery this morning, so a good activity to log these from yesterday's marathon. Made this our lunch stop, which we had entirely to ourselves. Just as well, because this sneaky cache took a little while to zero in upon. Mrs rhubarbroad gets the credit for this one and wishes to award a favourite. TFTC
Day 1 of the Snake. Bit of a cloudy and drizzly day as we set out to find the Caches in this series after a great weekend on the East Coast attending the Events held. Found with CoxFamily7310. Such a great weekend away.
Thank you SSR and GooseandEgg for the huge effort making the Caches and planning and placing them here for us to find and enjoy. The range of different containers and hiding places kept us excited to see what would come next.
With Cherie from Cox Family7310.

After solving this series it was nice to get the opportunity to get out and find them. I travelled with Merilyn Tas and after events in the swansea are we spent 2 nights in Orford ready for a big day out caching.
Unfortunately we didn't get them all done in one day as the BLOODY engine light came on the car so we had to knock off early afternoon. The poor little car had just got hot, its only a little Gutz and the road sign does say sections suitable for 4wd vehicles only!! I sure seen the biggest pot holes I have ever seen. For a road that I thought would be not used at all it was surprising the amount of cars we seen. Day 1 we found 67 and 38 on the second day we were lucky to have no DNF as most had hints to help us out. Was also happy to celebrate my 800th find along the way and Merilyn celebrated her 500th.
Wow what an amazing series so many different container types of along the way. So much time and effort put into making this serius possible you boys have done an amazing job...im sure you have shares in a pipe company.
With Great thanks to Stainless Steel Rat & Goose and Egg.
Stopped for lunch and toilet. Nice cache have given a FP

A tricky hide which surprised me on how quickly I found it. Accurate co-ordinated coupled with luck i guess. I must make time to do the walk on a future visit.
On a trip down to Orford to search for the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series of caches in the Wielangta National Forest.
We found all of the snake caches great fun, some very funny cache designs. A lot of thought has gone into the design of this series. The caches are of good quality and co-ords in most cases are very good. Exception is down to swirly GPS and not CO’s. This series is like having an up sized big mac meal. When you do the series, you will know what I mean.
Nearly every cache has good parking and access to GZ.
Well done to the Charmers on a brilliant series. No wonder you are collecting a lot of favourites.
Another cache we felt would be a DNF and ruin the series collection.
We left to collect others and get into phone coverage to call a friend.
Armed with new info we revisited to find the cache.
Strangely the log book was missing, we replaced the log book and returned cache back to normal.
This completes our series and yipee we have found them all.

Very sneaky post which took us quite a while to find and I think it may have been just stubbornness that got us there! A favourite point for this one.
The puzzles for this series were solved some time ago in preparation for the right time to head off to find them. What time could be better than a birthday weekend for Mrs Coder, with the addition of completing our 500th find! Having headed down from the NW coast for the trip we were able to complete the series with one overnight stay, and take time to explore along the way. All caches were found in excellent condition, with only 3 dnf's which we expect may have become casualties of a flood. With such quality caches placed, we took the time to appreciate the effort put into each of these, and ensure that all bags containing the log book were sealed (which unfortunately many of them closer to Orford were not).
This is by far the best trail we have completed so huge thank you to SSR and gooseandegg for their mammoth effort.

Driver RoadieR doing a sterling job with the driving and finally got his reward of lunch at this great spot. Nice to revisit this cache - so clever!
We finally got to the picnic ground and stop for lunch, much to the driver's relief: he'd been hanging out for a while, but we couldn't pass any caches without looking for them..lunch just had to wait!
I set off to look for the cache while the picnic lunch was being unpacked.
tassietan had previously found this one and I needed her to point me in the right direction.
Excellent hide. Thanks stainless-steel-rat . A favourite point.

The first of the Tasmanian Tiger Snake series found today. Can’t believe how bad Weilangta Road has become (mainly from the Kellevie end to here - from here to Orford not
too bad). No snakes or leeches to be found today. Will give my first cache find in the series a favourite, as it is a clever hide and I know I’m really going to enjoy this series. Thanks GooseandEgg and Stainless-Steel-Rat for your amazing efforts. Incredible!

We stopped for lunch at this spot and so I quickly looked for the cache. The sneaky hide took a couple of looks before locating. A favourite point for the hide and the series - would like to come and get more on another trip

When I briefly met the COs at the Gong mega last July and they said “if you’re even in Tassie…” I had no idea that six months later, I’d take them up on the invite. Actually, barely two weeks ago today, I had no idea I would even be joining J+J this trip but here we are, third of an impromptu six days away and easily ticking off this trail. By the time I returned home, had kick started 2020 with 355 interstate smileys (about a third of my average yearly total) thanks to four geoarts and numerous finds along the way. Mostly good co-ordinates, clues and some creative camo made for a successful day out with a muggle driver and two experienced eyes free to hunt. Apologies for the generic log unless additional comments required. Top two favourite of the day! Nice job
We’re travelling in Tassie with Mizmaz .This is our 3rd day and we are targeting this series. This is a great series, with good coordinates and great containers with plenty of variety.

Visiting Australia for the first time. On Holland America’s Noordam Cruise ship. We just visited 6 cities in New Zealand with Hobart our first Australian stop. Aloha from Hawaii. Thanks so much The Snake Charmers for placing this cache. Caching with foomanjoo. Signing as CL and FMJ.
Fast and fun find with Cache_Lee during a day’s adventure off the Noordam. I had tried to partner up with a local for the TTSS run via the Facebook group for Tasmania and managed to find a teammate from Hawaii! We picked up a rental car as soon as we disembarked the ship and made the drive to the furthest north cache in the series and scored a bunch of smileys on our way back to the port. Perfect coords, names, and hints. I greatly enjoyed this series! Looking forward to the Farewell 2019 event in Hobart tonight! Thanks for the fun, The Snake Charmers!

A visit to the south of the state gave us the opportunity to complete this series.
Starting from the Copping end we snaked our way towards Orford. A total of 7 hours on the trail including breaks.
What a fantastic series. We were impressed with the quality of the hides and the attention to detail. The well stocked caches and variety of hides made this an outstanding series.
Awarding a favourite point to each and every one.
Many thanks gooseandegg and StainlessSteelRat for creating, placing and maintaining this series for our enjoyment, we really appreciate all the time and effort you both have invested in this series.

Today I headed to Tasmania for a short visit to catch up with family and friends; my second trip to the state this year! I also scheduled some time for geocaching, with some particular target caches in mind.
After arriving in Hobart mid-afternoon, I picked up the hire car then headed towards Orford, primarily to do the TTSS letterbox series, and also to see some friends that live there. The main cache targets for the day were the ones along the Rheban Road between the Wietlanga Road and Spring Beach.
It looked like it might rain for most of the afternoon, but it fortunately amounted to nothing.
All of the target caches were found in good order and without any trouble. I also managed to pick up a few other opportunistic finds along the way. I have handed out a few favourite points to some of the TTSS caches that I enjoyed.
Although this cache was on my list to find as I headed back towards Hobart tomorrow, I stopped here for a look snd thought I might as well grab the cache while I was here. Nice hide!
Thanks The Snake Charmers for the cache.

With a planned event this weekend postponed we decided to use the gap in the calendar to check out this fantastic series, we've thoroughly enjoyed these inventive and often surprising finds. Thank you so much for the time, thought, creativity and effort put into these. A truly beautiful part of Tassie to explore.
We began caching at 10.32 and our last find was at 7.50pm, almost all of the caches were easy, quick finds.
Didn't take long to have this familiar container in hand, and given the weather decided to not play nice the area was very quiet at 2.21pm

After staying in Orford overnight, our plan today was to attempt the remaining 40 caches in the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series. The rain of yesterday continued overnight but cleared during the morning. We were very happy that we found the remaining caches today and in doing so, completed the series.
Our experiences today only reinforced the comments made yesterday. Without any hesitation we can say that the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series is one of the three best trails in Australia that we have attempted, and we have certainly tackled quite a few. The planning, cache preparation, attention to detail, creativity and the cache hides are of the highest quality – some were superb. Over dinner last night we contemplated the caches to which we should award favourite points. The superb and outstanding caches were obvious. However, as we looked at the others we recognized their very high individual quality and compared to others we have recognized recently, we concluded that all Tiger Snake caches that we found today should be awarded a favourite point. The only regret was that we could not award multiple points to some caches.
In most instances today, the coordinates were quite accurate although there were a couple of caches where the cache was a short distance from the confirmed coordinates.
The hint was very important in this location because our GPS units were rather slow to settle in this vegetation. We found the cache after a short search. The cache and contents were in very good condition.
Congratulations gooseandegg and StainlessSteelRat on an outstanding series. We appreciate the efforts that has gone into all aspects, from the initial concept through to the placement of superbly crafted caches. You have created the best trail by far in Tasmania and one of the best in the country.

Been meaning to get out to all these “snake” caches but knew we would need a full day to collect them all and today was that day. We started off early and had planned to have lunch in Orford and then finish the loop off. We accomplished all of the 99 “snakes” (had collected 6 on the day of publication) and 1 other cache in Orford. We had heard wonderful reports on the quality of these caches and they were true. Luckily we have a lot of favourite points to give out. The road has deteriorated, since we were out this way when caches were published and we had to dodge huge holes with water in them but it was worth the rattling along and zigzagging all over the place!
What.....no large cache here, very disappointed!!! We looked and looked and looked for this one, I think we went around twice. I heard voices in the distance and thought we really need to hurry up. Finally Lady membsec spied the little beast, not really so tiny but it caused a lot of trouble. Signed and replaced the clever hide before the muggles appeared.
Another favourite point.

This was the target of the day, with the largest series of letterbox caches in the country to date it was a must do on my trip to tassie.
A great series full of a variety of hides and some well crafted caches. Definitely not your normal power trail. We enjoyed the creativity on some of them. Some took some searching as the co ords were a little out but the hints were all good.
In total all but 4 were found in 6 hours.
Today was a long day out but purely for caching with JLrockstar, we decided that we would head down and tackle the new TTSS series starting near Orford. Followed by a few other caches. All together a total of 121 finds for the day.

TFTC,
A big thanks to Team The Snake Charmers for developing such a great series. I saw the comments on the Geocaching Tasmania Facebook page when it was published and then from The Hancock Clan who advised us to prepare for an experience we would enjoy. And enjoy we have.
Its going to be difficult placing individual logs for all we have done so I have decided to do this generic log and add individual comments to some that I can remember of the 79 found caches that made up my day. 78 TTSS caches down and still many great caches and locations to go. A reason to return if we can't complete them this trip.
Hear we go on an amazing day out in the The Wielangta forest. Cache #74, added a Favourite and visited trackables.

In Tasmania for 10 days staying with the Hancock Clan, out today starting the TTSS series, with them and Wazza9, solved all this series before coming to Tassie, this is a great series found 79 with 1 DNF. Signed log and replaced. A big thanks to Snake Charmers. Lovely fire going to warm us up. Goid hide.
The Bear hadn’t seen this type of hide before and definitely wants it to be a favourite.
Thanks for this cache.
Thanks for this cache.
What s tiny cache, not what we had become accustomed too lately. But it was nicely hidden.
Hello stainless-steel-rat thank you for the cache.
After finding this one we stopped for a while and had some lunch.
Today EeePees and I headed off to find the rest of TTSS caches with all of the cords plotted and the battery well charged there was nothing to stop us today.
As expected the quality of caches was excellent. As the driver I was supposed to stay in the car and work out the next easiest cache to drive too, but I couldn't help but to get out and have a look at a few of them and even managed to say I'll go and get this one.
But this did cause a little problem near the end of the series where I missed a road and had to come back for the last few caches along that road.
I know EeePees wasn't worried but I know if this was a rally valuable point could have been lost.
Thanks to EeePees for another great day out.
Sorry for the generic log. But I think you know how much I have enjoined finding your TTSS caches.

Thanks stainless-steel-rat, and gooseandegg, for this cache and indeed the entire TTSS, and for an excellent two days.
Nice hide, ended up relying on the hint. This was a bit like opening a vault, so it's appropriate, and a great area, that this is the one that enabled me to access the lock to the vault to complete the museum mystery game.
We then spent some time here for a lunch break, no herring sandwiches this time!
Chatted to a couple of muggles (although one had some geocaching experience many years ago) on their way home from Orford.
A fav here too, for all that.
Found with AlbyDangles, thanks mate for the fantastic company, as always.
More detail on today’s exploits can be found in my log on TTSS Earl of Stump, our last and final TTSS find, thus completing the ‘snake’. [Hyperlink]( https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=e2af7fbb-a8b9-4946-9dec-a83c0143151d)

Today we were out tidying up a few niggling issues on the TTSS series and decided it was now appropriate to log ‘the other half’ (as a beta tester). Stainless steel rat and I are able to move from cache to cache without a map or compass now, we’ve checked and tested them so often.
For quite some time the idea of a big series had been throw around. Lots of road trips were made looking for a suitable location but we turned our noses up as so many options, not being happy with various components such as parking, safety, longevity and interest. Truthfully I can’t remember who suggested The Wielangta Forest Drive and surrounds but I had driven it many time in the past and had enjoyed it so was keen for sure. It took at least a dozen visits scouring, hiding, upsizing, fixing and beta testing the series. We wanted to give teams the chance to find a hundred caches in a day (a long day but we believe it is doable), and to make sure there was a good range of sizes.
The shed at the ‘rats nest’ was a production line of caches for months, with midweek sessions to make many of the caches and then painting over weekends. Others were ordered or scrounged from a range of sellers. This was of course when we were not out searching for locations to hide them! All up it was around nine months of work, fun and frustration. Our biggest concern was the reliability of our coordinates. We would leave a location happy we had accurate recordings but on the next visit the coordinates would be off. Subsequent visits would sometimes be different again, or revert back to the original ones.
No matter how each visit went, we always paused for a beer as we finished up for the day. We would be cold and damp but celebrated our efforts, knowing we were getting closer to publishing with each long day in the field.
Once the caches were all hidden we then had to create the artwork (thanks SSR) and do the listings and projections for over fifty caches each but we could stay warm and dry doing that. Everything was finalized before we tripped off to the Gong Mega so it was just a matter of waiting for the launch BBQ with anticipation.
Sincere thanks to my family and Mrs SSR for accepting we’d be gone for hours on end to create the TTSS series. Now we can go back to actually finding caches!

Hi to the Charmers
An early morning start to come and search for more of this great series
The weather was drizzly when I left home and was much the same when I arrived at the first cache - it improved immensely a short time later which helped add to my caching day
Found 33 of the series today - all varied finds and appropriately named - before returning South to visit with Mum
Arrived at the car park and was greeted by a Parks and Wildlife worker After a small chat, down to look for the cache for the second time
On the first occasion, it was too dark to see and without a torch I had no chance
It's wonderful what a bit of daylight makes to searching out a cache - quick find was had today
A great spot and one I used to visit quite often when I lived on the Peninsula
The cache was Sainted at 0939 hours
Today, it was a round trip of 262 km in the car and even though most caches weren't far from where I parked, I managed to walk 7.45 km utilizing 9424 steps whilst burning 1630 calories
TFTC and cheers

Also had a lovely walk through an avenue of trees which was pretty nice.
TFTC and Thanks for the series
VERY VERY clever hide. Favorite point given

Have seen this type of hide before but this one has been done very well.

Today we thought we might find the 35 caches needed for the "Mystery at the Museum" to crack open the safe so we headed off early to the Wielangta forest knowing we had more than enough caches there to find. After finding what we needed we continued on to find 44 which meant our 7000 th cache find was obtained doing this fantastic geo art. Ok we reached that target and then thought, not many to go until we have them all so this was number 30 of 75 found.
We had a fantastic day, the hides were well stocked, very creative and made use of the surrounding environs. The containers were well cammoed and we hope the shares in your plumbing store have gone up! Not to mention the world is now a safer place because all the ammunition has been removed from ammo cans and geocaches hidden within. We laughed at some of the names as they made more sense once at GZ. The hints provided were appreciated. A very big thank you to you both for setting this series up. We just wish we had enough favourite points to give one to each cache. TFTLB. This was Mrs W's favourite cache (so far, I might have more than one). Very well done, deserves a favourite.

Found by Team member HatGillie whilst having a spot of lunch by the fire with Tas22. This was my last cache for the day and what a great day it was TFTC
Out and about with Lil Rafa for a weekend at Orford. After grabbing a yummy breakfast at the event run by The Snake Charmers we set off to find a few caches. Nice quick find, all caches today are all good quality and in great order, thanks to the CO's for all their efforts. TNBPLN. Log dry.
Loved this spot! We will definitely return here now that we know about the place - a perfect spot for lunch or morning tea. Mrs H went off in search of this one and loved the camo. It must have been good as she hasn't shut up about it hehe! Fav point for sure then! TFTC!

Another joint FTF with RLD4963 - we rarely get a chance to go and search for FTF's, and so today was a special opportunity for us. After having a bit of a rest stop and enjoying some lunch, another warm drink, a bit of warmth in front of the fire at the Weilangta picnic shelter, and catching up with some of the other cachers and sharing some of our adventures for the morning, we moved on to grab this cache - lucky to get a FTF for this one as there were lots of teams close by at the time. Lucky we had a mobile temperature gauge to assist with the find!
A great spot for a cache.
