Found with goldielover after doing the 3Capes hike. We moved up the road to a little town Orford. A nice place to visit and a great base camp for the two days it took to complete. This has to be the best power trail I have ever done. The amount of work you and some helpers have put into these is a credit to you all. I think this is the first power trail I have done also, with a 100percent find rate. All your co-ords were perfect and you had us going on a few of the trickier hides. We were stunned at the quality of most of them as well. If I had more favourite points to give, I would have. If these had been stand-alone caches, I am certain you would have more favourite points in the bag. When goldielover solved these back in Brisbane it was our intention to quickly grab them and accumulate a few badly needed favourite points. This trail is not how it worked out. I have finished with less than I started. It is a real pity I can't remember exactly each of your caches individually but i have given favourite points along the way.Sorry for the generic log. I have a hundred or so to do.Once again, thanks heaps for your great series. It has been a real pleasure to complete.TFTC

Big thanks to The Snake Charmers for creating the TTSS series! Your effort brought an extra spark of excitement to our geocaching quest. This discovery was find number 1248 for us, marking another memorable moment in our adventure. Living and traveling full-time across Australia in our Toyota Coaster, we're always on the lookout for caches to uncover. Today we headed out to complete more of the TTSS series. I thought the first few we had done were pretty good but then was blown away by some of todays hides. Brilliant, what a power trail and what a lot of effort, time and money youve put into this series. World class. We completed around 40 today leaving us with a big day for tomorrow. Fingers crossed the grading work doesnt interfere with finding tomorrow. Found some epic hides today which if there were such a thing as a golden FP they would be super worthy. I think I found a top 5 ever find today it was that good.We had a super day, lovely picnic lunch along the way. Husband hates power trails but even he enjoyed this one, maybe not the blood sucker that attached itself to him found before his shower tonight .Id messed up one lot of coordinates but luckily our perch on the hill for lunch we got 2 bar of 4G so I could fix that one up and make the find, yay. We found everything we looked for today which was a massive bonus.Big thanks to the COs for this stupendous series. Giving out FP here and there for the series as well as for all the fantastic ones TFTC

Well this is the last of the series. I will need to return to clean up some DNF and incorrect co-ordinates. I wanted to give all the caches a fav. but I don't have enough points. This fav is for all the others.

I absolutely enjoyed doing this trail, from solving the puzzles, to the beautiful scenery, the subtle hints and the well constructed caches and the best bit, no snakes seen. Thank you for all your work on this series. My second day to hopefully clean up this series. Another early start as its supposed to be getting pretty warm today and I dont want to bump into any sunbathing wiggly stick TFTC The Snake CharmersKeep smiling

Second day tackling TTSS, bit cooler today and starting from the south today.Quick find here, tftc

25-Sep-23
With high expectations of finding about 13 hides in this cool series coming up from the South, my hopes were dashed by the "No Reception" factor. (Seriously! It's 2023 and not even Telstra can be got in this spot!) Big Grin Thankfully, the night before i drew up a Mud-Map of the first 2km of this Famous Tazzie Road. The spot was quickly 'guessed' ha ha with the handy hint [^] as i parked up as close as possible and of the road. Signed the log of the regular sized cache at 11:03 on Monday the 25th of September 2023. Returned the cache and then the rain started to spit. That was the cue for me to end it now and drive back home to find a way to be able to load co-ords offline where needing reception isn't a problem as i have many of them already solved.{A word to myself.... "Mate, it's called a GPS unit!.... Get one now!!" Big Grin} ha ha.I will get them as there is always a way. (In the days when i was green i never even had a phone that was compatible for the GC site [:o] so i had to take pics with my camera from the computer and just try my luck at the GZ area when out and about. I did that in the ADL Hills in Cleland National Park and still got them. I look back now and just 'Cringe' Big GrinIt was a challenge i 'actually enjoyed' funnily enough such was the passion for this newly found hobby [:x] CoolI can say that [GC88Q95] is all fine and dry and the log book within the cache is too.TFTC SSR Smile

Taking some time off to explore more of the apple isle with RoamingHowie. Day Four: Orford, Triabunna, TTSS series and various caches & AdLabs along the way.

Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, stainless-steel-rat

It was time for a return trip to Tassie to explore the southern part of the state. I paired up with OzHockeyChick for a 5 day caching blitz with some sightseeing in between. Today was Day 4 and we headed north east from Port Arthur to Orford and Triabunna via the TTSS trail with the sun shining all the way.

Finally working our way along TTSS. All was good here at GZ.

Thanks stainless-steel-rat for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

I can’t tell you how long this series has been on my radar to start! Something always seems to come up or it rains etc.
Today we set out to put a dent in them starting from the Kellevie end.
This was our first and a quick park and grab.
Thanks for the cache and thanks for the effort put into the series. Looking forward to making more progress with it.

Cache replaced and ready to found again.

02-May-23
No luck here and unfortunately I didn't get the cache owners message about replacing it until we got back to our laptop at Orford. Pretty sure it's not there so perhaps the next cachers to visit this series could bring a replacement. Thanks.

07-Mar-23
After having found our solved puzzles on what we have taken to calling the Wattle Hill Loop we decided to head out past Kellevie to get a small taste of Tasmanian Tiger Snake. This was our first stop. Unfortunately we had the same experience as the 2 other recent visitors and came away empty handed.

04-Mar-23
Our first one on the TTSS trail and a DNF to start with.
Hope this doesn't continue.
We spent a bit of time looking and found an obvious place according to the hint but no cache.
I guess this is one for us to do next time.

22-Feb-23
Our first attempt at the TTSS series and our only DNF for the day. Not sure of the style of caches at this point, but it's possibly not there. Maybe washed away in the recent rains. Had a pretty good look over the drain and found a good hidey hole but no cache.

25-Oct-22
Absolutely love this series, in one of my favourite places on Earth. Thank you. No phone reception so logged online later. An incredible rainy, misty day with dencoxclan getting lost in the temperate rainforest. Just brilliant. Such creative caches and hides.

25-Oct-22
I first noticed this series not long after we started caching and from that moment on wanted to come and find them one day. I solved four of the puzzles a few months and left the other hundred or so for another day. So when Zozetta and I decided to have a go at them I had two days to get them done. I solved thirty six on Sunday leaving sixty five for Monday. I managed to get it done and so today we went to the southern end of Wielangta road and worked our way up from there. We ended up with twenty seven finds and one DNF. The weather didn’t look good this morning but it wasn’t too bad once in the Wielangta forest.

Each cache location is well thought out with plenty of room for parking and the containers and their contents were never boring!

A quick find here, though it was a bit muddy.

Thanks to the The Snake Charmers for placing this series.

Our first in this excellent series, and we took the TB from this cache for catnap777 to move on.

Found with catnap777 on our Geocaching holiday toTassie doing what we love doing most. [:X]

The Snake Series slithered onto my wishlist the very first day I heard of it, and cat' was bitten too the day I mentioned it to her early in our relationship. Razz
Over 100 letterboxes lined up, with large and unique types scattered throughout over a couple of counties in God's own country was all just too tempting to ignore. Twisted
Having worked through all the projections from home, it was finally our turn to take on the snake on our homeward leg. Cool

After being chased South a little early by the weather, catnap777 and I just set up camp down there for a little while longer which suited us just fine. Smile We had a lot of geocaching business down Hobart way, and as far south as you can go, but now that much of the water up north had subsided, it was time to head back up there via the East Coast this time which also meant via this amazing Geoart series. Big Grin

TFTC&Series stainless-steel-rat. Cool

Every cache we visited in Tassie added to the joys of our holiday adventure finding caches in every county on the main Island during our 10 day visit. [^]

Found and signed with dalerious Razz.

The Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series . Well, where do I start with this awesome set of caches. dalerious and I chose this series to do on our first trip to Tassie as a caching couple, because it not only covered a huge quantity of Letterboxe's, which we both desperately needed, but it also had some Mystery caches thrown in the mix as well Big Grin.
Unfortunately for us, grading of the middle section of road, and time restraints meant that we will have to finish off the series next time. And if I have it my way, next time will be very soon Razz.

All containers were found in excellent condition, unless otherwise stated. A great mix of containers and hides too Smile.
Thank you stainless-steel-rat for an awesome drive Razz. We even got to see the star of the show; yes YOU and a fair dinkum Tiger snake .
I will be giving favourite points intermittently.

We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.

We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.

Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest Big Grin.

We humbly thank all the CO's that provided all the caches, and we can't wait to do it all again down under, under, very soon Big Grin.

Today we found TTSS - W South on our travels. We are on another visit from Melbourne just because…well, maybe it’s all those puzzles we solved during those many lockdowns! Having the opportunity to sign some actual logs is exciting!

Thanks stainless-steel-rat for being part of our geocaching fun.

02-Jul-22
After solving all of this series a few days ago in preparation we decided to see how we would go today. The goal for today was 100 finds in a day.
We ended up looking for 92/105 of this series (and found 9 others to reach 100) and only had one DNF.
The cache containers were all well sized and it never got boring with a lot of nice hides. Several favourite points were given out.
Thanks to gooseandegg and stainless-steel-rat for the series.

This one was the first one we did in the series as we started it from Kellevie.

Headed to Tassie with my muggle driver to complete some geoart and this high scoring series has been on our radar for quite some time. Did not disappoint in the least. Had a great 2 days completing this series, had mostly hits but also a few missus which just means we'll need to come back another time to complete. Thanks CO's for the caches. They were absolutely awesome and great fun to find.

Third day In Triabunna today, going to try to finish the snake letterbox run. Worked this series out several weeks ago. Thanks to The Snake Charmers for the caches.

17-Mar-22
On a road trip from Hobart to Stanley with my mum over 2 weeks. We visited a number of towns and we were mainly targeting Virtuals and Earthcaches due to the amazing locations they take one to. We did pick up the random traditional, multi, puzzle, wherigo and even a couple letterbox caches whilst travelling.

After a nice sleep in Port Arthur, we had finished out planned 4wd Buggy Tour and now we were making our way to Triabunna for tonights accommodation. We collected some caches along the way, including some of the TTSS caches, but only a couple.

Thanks for placing and mainting this geocache The Snake Charmers Big Grin

Solved all of these before coming to Tassie.
I knew I wouldn't get them all due to terrain and time but did what I could.

A big thank you to all the CO's that have contributed to this series.

Sorry for the generic logs.

QOTSA and I are trying to get the mountain reach the peak souvenirs. We had planned to have a big caching day on our only weekend off together but then we were placed in lockdown. I finished my shift at Fortescue Bay and With 3 hours left of the challenge QOTSA met me at the Wielangta Road Junction with the aim of getting them all! Our first find! Thank you

We're trying to knock this summit souvenir off in the next 2 hours. Many thanks.

Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. With inclement weather approaching we utilised today to grab some along dirt roads. Managed to find a few of differing varieties! A fun day despite being soggy wet ! Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round!

22-Oct-21
Over the last few weeks wasn’t sure our trip to Tassie would go ahead. I’d call it the covid hokey pokey. Glad the planets aligned and the trip went ahead.

First day of our adventure we were going to wrangle a tiger snake and hopefully photograph a Tassie tiger.

Knew these caches were on a dirt road and figured there would be a point of no return where the car would surrender to the mud. That speculation was our called and what we were willing to risk. Managed to collect a few snakes while the heavens decided whether to crack open or discharge the sprinklers. The later looked the better bet. Thanks to the snake charmers for putting this series together.

22-Oct-21
The first day of our Tassie adventure and of course the weather reports are not looking good. We have the Snake pencilled in for a few days from now but given the likely wet weather we decided to grab a few from the end we were going past so we would at least get a few.

Took a while to get our eyes in, but there it was safe and sound and before long we had our first snake trapped in the bag.

27-Sep-21
We decided to start our quest from the point farthest from Orford and work our way back towards town. We really enjoyed all the caches we found, the hides are very clever, the cache names are great and we really appreciate the work that has gone into the series. Sorry for the generic logs, favourite points for the ones we liked best

Found all okay.

Trip log: Day 4 of 5 with GreyHams on our Tasmanian Caching Trip. A trip planned with counties, and caches of quality as we pass. If your cache made our list it had a quality we sort... thank you for your cache!

Today's focus was the TTSS, so many letterboxes - we had more to do than time allowed but the focus was to try for as many as we could, and all of the larges. With the colder weather that was okay but forcast of rain and possible wet muddy roads, well, this was about to get fun!

As it happened we never did get the rain, it wasn't so cold and the roads were not really muddy but oh did we still have fun! definitly the BEST letterbox series I have ever completed and I will go as far as to say I doubt it can be topped. I gave out SO many FP's, the names of the caches, the containers, ALL the larges and the humour. It just kept giving and we just kept going taking our time and enjoying each creative letterbox along the way.

Out of time on the series it was off to each new county we still had to complete... and they needed to be completed by the end of the day. A night time wildlife encounter delivered a huge number of wombats and little hoppy things, we avoided them all as we wound our way through forests in the dark along the way into Launceston for the night.

Super enjoyable day through the typical amazing and changing scenery Tasmania has to offer.

15-May-21
One of the best series I have ever done. So many great containers.....in fact most of them were fantastic. The names, so funny, so well done. I am giving every one a FP as they nearly all were awesome in some way

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Aquilus1 and I have been on a mission.....a mission to collect Australian states/counties. The target this time was Tasmania, with neither of us having found a cache yet in Tassie. So a loop was planned, starting/finishing in Lonny (even the plane pilot called it this!! Love that!). I was driving so my logs are a little more generic than Aquilus1's, my apologies.

Day #1 Leave Canberra at sparrows, transiting through Melbourne and collecting our car....first things first was to get the oldies along the cataract gorge, which was great as Aquilus1 had never been to Tassie before and its a great place to start. Onwards up the Tamar and then zigzagging across through Devonport, Burnie and eventually ending at Stanley.

Day #2 had us go back to Devonport for a FTF......yay! Then onto Hobart, via Queenstown! Long day through blizzards, hydro power and SO MUCH NOTHING! Beautiful nothing of course Smile

Day #3 around Tassie.....into Huon valley, freezing to death in the water in Clarence, passed Port Arthur to see some caves and ending up in Sorrell

Day #4 was power trailing large letterboxes until we had to head back north to Lonny, via Buckland, Oatlands, Fingal and Scottsdale..... dodging wildlife after dark.....so scary!

Day #5 was a quick duck over to Flinders and back..... car rental place thought we were nuts! Then back to Canberra, safe and snug under my blanket for the -5 night.....now THATS cold!

Thank you putting out this series, but sorry for the generic logs

We are on our tassie caching adventure.
We solved so many puzzle caches, more than we can find in the short time we are here.
Also we have a list of other cache of interest to find.

Out caching with D@geo
Thank you for the Cache The Snake Charmers

09-May-21
Found with gwd.aussie while enjoying a tassie caching adventure. Before leaving Victoria we solved many caches so there are plenty of caches we want to grab (not only solved puzzles but old caches, favourited caches, challenges and caches that help with challenges) however sadly we will not be able to find them all.
We were late getting to this series with this the first one for the day found around midday and we are hoping to get as many as we can on our way through to Orford as needing a few letterbox's for a challenge.

Thanks Snake Charmer

I think mr_johna summed it up perfectly in his log, so i'll just add a few extra words...
This was the first in the series and the fourth cache for what soon became my biggest geoouting yet.
Thank you for the effort involved. Holy smokes.

06-Mar-21
Our start to the series... about 8:20am for this one.

I solved the Tiger Snake series soon after it came out. But had been holding off on collecting them as I had an ambition to complete them all in a day. In order to do that, I thought I would need some help from another cacher, or a driver, or both. As it happened, the stars were aligned and a trip was in order today, with a driver who is (until today) a muggle, and not used to travelling with passengers as she's more for 2 wheels than 4. We set off at 5:00am from Hobart, collecting the third member of the party (smallwombat) from Huonville, had an over-priced toastie and coffee at Sorell and picked up a couple of caches in Copping before starting the Wielangta Road southern end around 08:20am. As it turned out, our designated driver knew Wielangta Road very well as her sister lives on it! Our journey took us up to the picnic area, onward to Orford for lunch (because muggins here left his lunch - not onion sandwiches but ham cheese vegemite tomato lettuce and onion in the fridge, and muggins here also forgot to mention to one member of the party to bring some) and back down with the aim of tackling Rheban Road back up to Spring Beach. A research mistake meant that my assumption of which bridge was out was incorrect, and only busted once we were on the wrong end of Rheban Rd and could see the bridge in question at about 4pm. It was at that point that we decided to "call it" and not travel back up to Orford, back down for 13 caches, back to Orford and back to where we were because that would make us late for an impromptu visit for our driver that was locked in. In the end we had 12 non-TTSS finds for the day; and all of the TTSS series found bar the 13 past the (missing) bridge on Rheban Road. Muggins here might have accidentally written the wrong date in a few caches. The pace of some of the finds - I was barely remembering my name to write in the logs. Smaller logs were signed as "JA/SWB/E" or similar. There are some truly excellent caches on this series and many of the titles and hints were met with surprise, chuckles and the occasional dad-joke groan. I have tried to leave fav points but I don't think I have enough. I really appreciate the effort that The Snake Charmers have put in scouting locations, making and placing these caches, and maintining them for our enjoyment.

Another nice cache in one of the most enjoyable series ever ! [6]
Thank you to both goosandegg and stainless-steel-rat , who can be very proud of your efforts. The cache placement, parking, variety of geocaches and hides are all fantastic ! Cool
Above all your sense of humour and character shows in all of these hides Big Grin
I think that it was caughtatwork who commented why place a micro where a bigger cache can go ? Well, this series certainly follows that rule, and it shines because of it ! [^]
Thanks for the cache (s) , The Snake Charmers ! Big Grin

Day Two of attempting to tame the serpent and putting it to the Snake Charmers ! The day starts bright and windless. Looks like its going to be a warmish exercise. Continuing to do the "paper work" now the day after. A bit showery this morning, and uncomfortably windy, so a good activity to be logging these from yesterday's marathon. Just about to be driven over the edge by this 'ordeal' today (and yesterday). But HEY ! ! we have come to the end ......... or it could be the beginning. I must say we are a bit over burnt stumps for the time being. Need to go back to the lovely greens and browns of the north west coast in the next couple of days to regroup for any future marathons. Thankyou to all concerned for your exceptional efforts in creating this trail. Long may it survive in its entirety and challenge. rhubarbroad (x 2).

Day 1 of the Snake. Bit of a cloudy and drizzly day as we set out to find the Caches in this series after a great weekend on the East Coast attending the Events held. Found with CoxFamily7310. Such a great weekend away.

Thank you SSR and GooseandEgg for the huge effort making the Caches and planning and placing them here for us to find and enjoy. The range of different containers and hiding places kept us excited to see what would come next.
With Cherie from Cox Family7310.

This is the first cache in the series that we have found. Starting at the bottom and working our way up.

01-Nov-20
After the celebration events of yesterday my aim today was to find as many of the remaining TTSS Series as I could. The end of the trail so now I return to look for Bulk Hulk and Groovy which so far have eluded my searches.

01-Nov-20
After solving this series it was nice to get the opportunity to get out and find them. I travelled with Merilyn Tas and after events in the swansea are we spent 2 nights in Orford ready for a big day out caching.
Unfortunately we didn't get them all done in one day as the BLOODY engine light came on the car so we had to knock off early afternoon. The poor little car had just got hot, its only a little Gutz and the road sign does say sections suitable for 4wd vehicles only!! I sure seen the biggest pot holes I have ever seen. For a road that I thought would be not used at all it was surprising the amount of cars we seen. Day 1 we found 67 and 38 on the second day we were lucky to have no DNF as most had hints to help us out. Was also happy to celebrate my 800th find along the way and Merilyn celebrated her 500th.
Wow what an amazing series so many different container types of along the way. So much time and effort put into making this serius possible you boys have done an amazing job...im sure you have shares in a pipe company.
With Great thanks to Stainless Steel Rat & Goose and Egg.

Our first cache for the day an easy one

02-Sep-20
On a trip down to Orford to search for the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series of caches in the Wielangta National Forest.
We found all of the snake caches great fun, some very funny cache designs. A lot of thought has gone into the design of this series. The caches are of good quality and co-ords in most cases are very good. Exception is down to swirly GPS and not CO’s. This series is like having an up sized big mac meal. When you do the series, you will know what I mean.
Nearly every cache has good parking and access to GZ.
Well done to the Charmers on a brilliant series. No wonder you are collecting a lot of favourites.
Cache is in good condition and good co-ords led to a quick find

30-Jun-20
Finally got to travel the rough Weilangta Road today with Daughter and Grandaughter. First find for the day and we took the brooch and left an Ooshie. TFTC Smile

19-Jun-20
Our first find of the series and we have already been checked on by 3 friendly locals (1 on a cruiser and 1 in a truck), it appears that our "town car" may have them a little worried about if we will make it through on the rough terrain. It's lovely to be checked on, but honestly, despite the road being marked as 4wd only (our car is an pretend 4wd) there really weren't any difficulties. Plus the frequent stopping and travelling slowly counting down the meters to the next cache really did make for a comfortable trip.
The puzzles for this series were solved some time ago in preparation for the right time to head off to find them. What time could be better than a birthday weekend for Mrs Coder. Having headed down from the NW coast for the trip we were able to complete the series with one overnight stay, and take time to explore along the way. All caches were found in excellent condition, with only 3 dnf's which we expect may have become casualties of a flood. With such quality caches placed, we took the time to appreciate the effort put into each of these, and ensure that all bags containing the log book were sealed (which unfortunately many of them closer to Orford were not).
This is by far the best trail we have completed so huge thank you to SSR and gooseandegg for their mammoth effort.
A favourite point from us.

'Z'ipadeedoodah! Headed off for a day of caching with The Roadies today, tackling this mammoth local series from the south end. Very excited to be out caching again with good friends. Found the first one quickly and we were on our way. Not sure how many we will get done in the day, but we are sure we will have fun.

29-May-20
tassietan and us solved this series while covid19 restrictions were in place. Now that travel restrictions have eased we decided to make a start on finding them.
An amazing effort in creating this series Snake Charmers! Thank you so much.
This is the first one we found, and set the scene for the day..great container, dry log, lots of swag!

Hi stainless-steel-rat, had to get a cache today to collect a souvenir for 02-02-2020. This one fitted the bill nicely and it was only 12km from home. As usual a lovely hide and a very nice camo cache container. Boy they are big playing cards lol. Added a smiley and a souvenir thank you for this great series and in particular fitting the bill nicely today with TTSS - W South.

When I briefly met the COs at the Gong mega last July and they said “if you’re even in Tassie…” I had no idea that six months later, I’d take them up on the invite. Actually, barely two weeks ago today, I had no idea I would even be joining J+J this trip but here we are, third of an impromptu six days away and easily ticking off this trail. By the time I returned home, had kick started 2020 with 355 interstate smileys (about a third of my average yearly total) thanks to four geoarts and numerous finds along the way. Mostly good co-ordinates, clues and some creative camo made for a successful day out with a muggle driver and two experienced eyes free to hunt. Apologies for the generic log unless additional comments required.

We’re travelling in Tassie with Mizmaz .This is our 3rd day and we are targeting this series. This is a great series, with good coordinates and great containers with plenty of variety.

Visiting Australia for the first time. On Holland America’s Noordam Cruise ship. We just visited 6 cities in New Zealand with Hobart our first Australian stop. Aloha from Hawaii. Thanks so much The Snake Charmers for placing this cache. Caching with foomanjoo. Signing as CL and FMJ. This was the last cache of the series making it 106 caches. We started about 1030am and finished at 8pm...so about 8 1/2 hours as we stopped for lunch about an hour. Then returning the car at the airport and Uber back to Hobart. There is an event tonight at the park overlooking the fireworks. What a great day. I would have given more Fav points but I am limited and don’t have any. Thank you again for this first GeoArt internationally for me.

**LAST ONE!** Fast and fun find with Cache_Lee during a day’s adventure off the Noordam. I had tried to partner up with a local for the TTSS run via the Facebook group for Tasmania and managed to find a teammate from Hawaii! We picked up a rental car as soon as we disembarked the ship and made the drive to the furthest north cache in the series and scored a bunch of smileys on our way back to the port. Perfect coords, names, and hints. I greatly enjoyed this series! Looking forward to the Farewell 2019 event in Hobart tonight! Thanks for the fantastic run, The Snake Charmers!

Came out today with the thought of doing as many of this series as possible with the help of my geosons . We found a variety of hides in a range of placements. Mostly they were all good at the caches Thanks gooseandegg/stainless-steel-rat for creation of the series and the placement of the caches. Apologies for the generic nature of the logs the sheer volume has defeated us once again Cheers

A visit to the south of the state gave us the opportunity to complete this series.

Starting from the Copping end we snaked our way towards Orford. A total of 7 hours on the trail including breaks.

What a fantastic series. We were impressed with the quality of the hides and the attention to detail. The well stocked caches and variety of hides made this an outstanding series.

Awarding a favourite point to each and every one.

Many thanks gooseandegg and StainlessSteelRat for creating, placing and maintaining this series for our enjoyment, we really appreciate all the time and effort you both have invested in this series.

Found on the second day of a short visit to Tasmania catch up with family and friends.

After arriving in Hobart the previous afternoon, I picked up the hire car then headed towards Orford, primarily to do the TTSS letterbox/puzzle series, and also to see some friends that live there. The main cache targets for the day were the ones along the Rheban Road between the Wietlanga Road and Spring Beach.

Today I headed south again from Orford, completing the other 90 or so in the series and opportunistically picking up one other traditional along the way.

All of the caches were found without any problems and in good order, and I have allocated a few favourite points to some of the TTSS caches that I enjoyed.

Thanks The Snake Charmers for an excellent geoart series.

With a planned event this weekend postponed we decided to use the gap in the calendar to check out this fantastic series, we've thoroughly enjoyed these inventive and often surprising finds. Thank you so much for the time, thought, creativity and effort put into these. A truly beautiful part of Tassie to explore.
We began caching at 10.32 and our last find was at 7.50pm, almost all of the caches were easy, quick finds.

Our first cache of the day at 10.32, a very quick find which got us off to a great start. TFTC

After staying in Orford overnight, our plan today was to attempt the remaining 40 caches in the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series. The rain of yesterday continued overnight but cleared during the morning. We were very happy that we found the remaining caches today and in doing so, completed the series.

Our experiences today only reinforced the comments made yesterday. Without any hesitation we can say that the Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series is one of the three best trails in Australia that we have attempted, and we have certainly tackled quite a few. The planning, cache preparation, attention to detail, creativity and the cache hides are of the highest quality – some were superb. Over dinner last night we contemplated the caches to which we should award favourite points. The superb and outstanding caches were obvious. However, as we looked at the others we recognized their very high individual quality and compared to others we have recognized recently, we concluded that all Tiger Snake caches that we found today should be awarded a favourite point. The only regret was that we could not award multiple points to some caches.

In most instances today, the coordinates were quite accurate although there were a couple of caches where the cache was a short distance from the confirmed coordinates.

This was the easiest, by far, of the drain caches to access despite the overnight rain making it a little slippery underfoot. The hint led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in very good condition.

Congratulations gooseandegg and StainlessSteelRat on an outstanding series. We appreciate the efforts that has gone into all aspects, from the initial concept through to the placement of superbly crafted caches. You have created the best trail by far in Tasmania and one of the best in the country.

The Tasmanian Tiger Snake Series has been, without doubt, a great caching experience. Any of our future cache hunts will have a very high standard for comparison. In hindsight, we strongly recommend that people take their time when completing these caches as there is so much to see in this section of Tasmanian forest. Most places we visited today had very interesting and quite varied wild flowers and there were a variety of fungi. Take your time and enjoy the forest as well as the caches.

Been meaning to get out to all these “snake” caches but knew we would need a full day to collect them all and today was that day. We started off early and had planned to have lunch in Orford and then finish the loop off. We accomplished all of the 99 “snakes” (had collected 6 on the day of publication) and 1 other cache in Orford. We had heard wonderful reports on the quality of these caches and they were true. Luckily we have a lot of favourite points to give out. The road has deteriorated, since we were out this way when caches were published and we had to dodge huge holes with water in them but it was worth the rattling along and zigzagging all over the place!

This was our first for the day and being early were were alert and therefore it was a quick find.

Thanks for all the hard work!

Thanks to the COs for their placements and apologies for the late logs

This was the target of the day, with the largest series of letterbox caches in the country to date it was a must do on my trip to tassie.

A great series full of a variety of hides and some well crafted caches. Definitely not your normal power trail. We enjoyed the creativity on some of them. Some took some searching as the co ords were a little out but the hints were all good.

In total all but 4 were found in 6 hours.

Today was a long day out but purely for caching with JLrockstar, we decided that we would head down and tackle the new TTSS series starting near Orford. Followed by a few other caches. All together a total of 121 finds for the day.

TFTC,
This is our second day driving and walking around this very special area.
Once again, every cache is a great experience.
The storm last night resulted in many trees falling, however the maintenance crew had already cleared every road we used.
The end of the trail for us this trip. Only 1 to come back for one day and adding a favourite for the series. Visited trackables.

Thanks for the cache stainless-steel-rat. RLD4963 and I made a last minute decision to for a Sunday drive to find some caches, so we loaded the GeoGSP in the car and headed off.

We had really enjoyed searching for some of the northern caches in this series a couple of months earlier so now we are trying to savour the rest of the series - a couple at a time. After enjoying lunch at a nearby lookout, we decided to find the caches in this series that were south of our lunchspot. This was a nice quick find at GZ. Once again, thanks again for a quality cache in this quality series.

Hello stainless-steel-rat thank you for the cache.

Today EeePees and I headed off to find the rest of TTSS caches with all of the cords plotted and the battery well charged there was nothing to stop us today.

As expected the quality of caches was excellent. As the driver I was supposed to stay in the car and work out the next easiest cache to drive too, but I couldn't help but to get out and have a look at a few of them and even managed to say I'll go and get this one.
But this did cause a little problem near the end of the series where I missed a road and had to come back for the last few caches along that road.

I know EeePees wasn't worried but I know if this was a rally valuable point could have been lost. Big GrinBig Grin

Thanks to EeePees for another great day out.

Sorry for the generic log. But I think you know how much I have enjoined finding your TTSS caches.

Thanks stainless-steel-rat, and gooseandegg, for this cache and indeed the entire TTSS, and for an excellent two days.

This was our first TTSS find for the day, just 55 to go, so it was nice to make this find and set us up for the rest of our Tour de Wielangta.

Found with AlbyDangles, thanks mate for the fantastic company, as always.

More detail on today’s exploits can be found in my log on TTSS Earl of Stump, our final TTSS find, thus completing the ‘snake’. [Hyperlink]( https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=e2af7fbb-a8b9-4946-9dec-a83c0143151d)

Today we were out tidying up a few niggling issues on the TTSS series and decided it was now appropriate to log ‘the other half’ (as a beta tester). Stainless steel rat and I are able to move from cache to cache without a map or compass now, we’ve checked and tested them so often.
For quite some time the idea of a big series had been throw around. Lots of road trips were made looking for a suitable location but we turned our noses up as so many options, not being happy with various components such as parking, safety, longevity and interest. Truthfully I can’t remember who suggested The Wielangta Forest Drive and surrounds but I had driven it many time in the past and had enjoyed it so was keen for sure. It took at least a dozen visits scouring, hiding, upsizing, fixing and beta testing the series. We wanted to give teams the chance to find a hundred caches in a day (a long day but we believe it is doable), and to make sure there was a good range of sizes.
The shed at the ‘rats nest’ was a production line of caches for months, with midweek sessions to make many of the caches and then painting over weekends. Others were ordered or scrounged from a range of sellers. This was of course when we were not out searching for locations to hide them! All up it was around nine months of work, fun and frustration. Our biggest concern was the reliability of our coordinates. We would leave a location happy we had accurate recordings but on the next visit the coordinates would be off. Subsequent visits would sometimes be different again, or revert back to the original ones.
No matter how each visit went, we always paused for a beer as we finished up for the day. We would be cold and damp but celebrated our efforts, knowing we were getting closer to publishing with each long day in the field.
Once the caches were all hidden we then had to create the artwork (thanks SSR) and do the listings and projections for over fifty caches each but we could stay warm and dry doing that. Everything was finalized before we tripped off to the Gong Mega so it was just a matter of waiting for the launch BBQ with anticipation.
Sincere thanks to my family and Mrs SSR for accepting we’d be gone for hours on end to create the TTSS series. Now we can go back to actually finding caches!

A day out with Geo Kid E, mainly to crack the safe for the current game. Had great fun along this run of caches. Some OMG moments and some OMFG moments.
Also had a lovely walk through an avenue of trees which was pretty nice.

TFTC and Thanks for the series

First for the day.

Today we thought we might find the 35 caches needed for the "Mystery at the Museum" to crack open the safe so we headed off early to the Wielangta forest knowing we had more than enough caches there to find. After finding what we needed we continued on to find 44 which meant our 7000 th cache find was obtained doing this fantastic geo art. Ok we reached that target and then thought, not many to go until we have them all so this was number 1 of 75 found.
We had a fantastic day, the hides were well stocked, very creative and made use of the surrounding environs. The containers were well cammoed and we hope the shares in your plumbing store have gone up! Not to mention the world is now a safer place because all the ammunition has been removed from ammo cans and geocaches hidden within. We laughed at some of the names as they made more sense once at GZ. The hints provided were appreciated. A very big thank you to you both for setting this series up. We just wish we had enough favourite points to give one to each cache. TFTLB.
