A quick find at GZ, after working out where it was. Interesting to see things from the other side, though there wasnt all that much going on. Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5
After the calculations off to the hide. Found it tucked away, but the log book bag is full of water. Cheers
Found it: 28/03/2024Sorry for falling behind with logs. Ive been busy catching up with family and have also been unwell. I havent completed logs from events - QOBM, Leap Day, and Canberra Mega, so I am catching up now. Thank you for the cache and hunt.
Canberra Mega trip, a last minute decision to join Team Astro and Deanside in Canberra for Easter. Logs signed as TAD, what a great trip. Thanks to The Farmers 5 for all the effort in placing and maintaining these caches.
Found on the Mega Capital Geobash coastal loop via Adelaide - Barrington - coast to Mexico City loop. A lot of caches and white line fever was sweated out. Thanks The Farmers 5 and clear skies from TeamAstro. Cache the planet! Some logs signed as TAD as teamed up with Tenkae and Deanside for additional fun.
Now chasing caches around Canberra for the Easter 2024 Geobash, signing as TAD which encompasses Tenkae, Astro and Deanside. Enjoying great company and the different aspects of our Commonwealth Capital. Thanks for placing the cache The Farmers 5 contributing to this great game we play. Happy trails, deanside!
Start of the last morning in Canberra and tracked down this multi. Wasn't sure about the final location, but it worked out ok, quiet here at 8 in the morning on Easter Sunday. Around 6pm the plane to Brisbane (then Townsville) took off to the north from about opposite that GZ point, I was sitting on that side window. Thanks for an informative multicache, The Farmers 5.
TFTC! Well done Bunadoorian for this find here, with Grub62. Was told at first waypoint to not take any photographs, only look. Nice quick multi all the same!
Grub62 did the calculations and I found this cache tucked away out of sight. TFTC.
bunadoorian, Smiley1982 and myself hatched a plan to find as many different types of caches we could today. This was our fourth type and sixth cache for today. Wow what an interesting area and so much to learn. We were visited by a lovely security man from the building just making sure we were just reading the info and no photos taken. I have very much enjoyed the caches you have hidden and that we have found The Farmers 5. This was no exception. bunadoorian made the find on this one. TFTC
Out and about again, headed over to Sydney early in the morning, grabbed a hire car and got some local hides before driving to Canberra for the MEGA. Super excited my first MEGA and heading over with 2 others from the Cockburn Crew - signed log as WAC to save time. This is 14196, hoping to clock over the 15,000 finds in the week in New South Wales and ACT.Thanks to The Farmers 5 for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. We heard about a Mega in Canberra a year ago. Having never been to the big capital, we booked our accommodation and the planning began.Which caches shall we do? Wow they really love their mystery caches in ACT! Ok, we need to get our thinking caps on and solve some of these puzzles pronto. There were many heads put together to solve some of these and many headaches created along the way.We have made the trek from Adelaide to be here and appreciate the efforts of all those involved to make the Capital Geobash happen.
Today we found Black Box Flight Recorder on our travels. On a brief visit to Canberra for the Easter Megaso many caches, not enough time! We were asked by the security guard if we were taking photoswe very quickly answered we were reading the plaque which he was fine with but remained watching us.so we asked if we were on ex RAAF land to which the answer was yes, but the land is now owned by the airport, some is still military. Thanks The Farmers 5 for being part of our geocaching fun.
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers The Farmers 5! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
Found 29 Mar 2024 at 11:10:21amOut and about with earthbound chief and Team_Crumble in a beautiful sunny day. Many thanks to The Farmers 5 for placing Black Box Flight Recorder for us all to find
Cockburn Crew on tour to the Canberra Mega. Day 1 involved a bunch of caching around Sydney before making our way to Canberra for the Capital Geobash. We found a huge variety of caches, and its great to cache in new territory that we havent explored much in the past. Unlike our home state of Western Australia where we have found just about anything and everything.A beautiful day with great weather and even better company. Thank you to the local COs for a great day in and around this great country of ours.
Quick find while in Canberra for the mega. We enjoy multis without too many steps! TFTC
Nice cache. Well done. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Canberra to AdelaideThe generic bit.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. Found on our journey over the week here. This weekend was mega weekend and we headed over with Courtneyrose_ Freddo, Team Waldron, e.gregory1, Davidwazza and Featherwaite as part of our team called: ABP (Alphabet People), the log books were either signed with the name, ABP or our individual caching names.A great weekend away in the capital and a very well organised mega, it was nice to be back in the ACT caching once again over easter with great weather. Thanks for the cache
Found on a visit from Adelaide to Canberra to attend the Capital GeoBash Mega event over Easter.Today I teamed up with FeatherWaite, Team Waldron, gridge98, CourtneyRose and Davidwazza. Logs were signed ABP to save time and space on the logsheets. It was a productive day, focusing mainly on caches of interest, with a variety of cache types. The weather was fine and quite warm, in contrast to some of the other times Ive been in Canberra over Easter. Thanks The Farmers 5 for the cache.
Found during the Mega event in Canberra over the Easter long weekend. Our team comprised courtneyrose_, Davidwazza, e.gregory1, Featherwaite, Freddo, gridge98 and Team Waldron, signing the logs as ABP to save time and space in the logbooks , or with our individual caching names. Enjoyed a great weekend away finding a rewarding range of cache types, d/t combinations, cache hides and retrievals. Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5!
This little cluster of caches near the airport was just the thing before our trip home a bit later. It took a few moments to find the required info and even then I wasn't overly confident that I'd done so. Approaching GZ didn't help my confidence any but with my PiC minding the car nearby, I mosied on over to my calculated GZ for an unbelievably quick find of the nicely hidden stash at 12:55. So I was right after all. ????TNLNSL. Thanks The Farmers 5.
Big day of caching with WACrew. We ended up at the event after exhaustion had set in. It was tough jumping between GPS, cachly and about 10 different labs. Theres something to be said for having all lab stages within close proximity. Thanks for your contribution to making today an excellent day. Much appreciated.
Day 2 camped at Canberra Park for the Mega EventThis morning doing some caches along the CBR series with the Snakepitters.A great morning out, it was good to have a driver that knew his way around the area.We did a variety of cache types, finishing the day at an event by the lake.Australians have made so many great inventions over the years. Signed log as DIMERS. (DiMorgan/Snakepitters)Thanksfor placing this cache The Farmers 5
Out this morning doing some caches along the CBR series ith DiMorgan. A great morning had by all and the ocassional toot from a passing local. Di and Mr Snakepitters were dropped off to do the Ad lab and this virtual. We grabbed the required info, did the calculations, loaded it into the GPS and off we went to the GZ. Parked behind and went out looking. Bill spied it. Sgned log as DIMERS.(DiMorgan/Snakepitters)Total Caches Found 15641TFTC The Farmers 5
Found today after a better look. Nice to collect some solved multis on a day I need a multi! Tftc
Out for a Sunday stroll with Takibi. Took in a few caches around Fairbairn and also watched some planes. After obtaining the necessary information at GZ we continued on the full loop around the precinct. As we approached I wondered if we had miscalculated but once we honed in it looked feasible. Only a short search yielded the cache which was a little damp but the log itself was dry enough. Replaced and back on our way. TFTC.
Container a little wet but actual log nice and dry.

Took a few mins to find but easy to obtain once spotted

#1518 I’ve always wondered what was down this road but have never actually ventured out this way, and neither had Turtle! It made for a good little adventure as we stopped by here to grab a multi find for the day. The information was gathered and a set of coordinates for GZ crafted. Off we went to go find the bounty. GZ almost had us scratching our heads before Turtle had an idea and found the cache. I’ve never known you could get out to the back of the airport but now I do. Thanks Farmers5 for highlighting the area for me and letting me learn about David Warren
#3364 I had never been out here before. I had passed the road many times but had no idea what existed beyond. With DeadThief today keeping me on track we put together some viable coordinates and moved on to GZ. With the size of the hide in mind we came up with a rather quick find. Logged and returned to its hide. Thanks again The Farmers 5 for bringing me to a (for me) new area of Canberra.
Just out for a lovely day to catch up on caching as this was on my list so decide to head over here to grab what I need and head to gz wow wow what a great hide and view TFTC The Farmers5
Of course I couldn't give up, my weekend off for any other reason than Geocaching. With four Geo-events at Canberra and a bonus friend’s party Saturday night meant that is where I'm headed. It was a great weekend full of fun, dancing, catching up with friends and finding many Geocaches along my travels. This was one of the caches or events, I found (or DNF) or attended at some point over the weekend. TB visit on all found caches. I would like to thank all CO's of the caches I found, for allowing them to bring me and the caching community enjoyment. TFTC's and TFTE's!
This one was next on the list to find BUT I should have done it first as I needed to backtrack. At the WP, it took a moment to find the sign. I took a photo of it and went to sit down on the seating just over the road to work out GZ. After then I was worried that I had it wrong when I saw GZ but after a short search I found the cache in it's hidey hole. Thanks for this one and now onto the next one.

After having this in the solved basket for awhile it was time to pick up today. Headed off after work but before peak time and found it pretty quiet. There was water in the container but the log was dry.
Thanks For getting me out and about The Farmers 5

I didn't get past the first WP, as I failed to spot the sign. There is an entrance sign, but that was about 20 metres off GZ. I couldn't find another sign, and I checked Google maps to see where it should be, and still failed to find it there. DNF.
Even though we work very close to the start of this multi, we have never got around to it (until now).
It was fun to read about Warren and his story, before making the short trip over to GZ. It’s a nice hide and a peaceful spot (most of the time ). TFTC and TNLN.

Found after dinner in Dickson with G & La_Shee. I've had this on my solved list for ages and needed a regular and multi for my calendar. This was a quick find. Thanks for highlighting this Australian and invention. TFTC.
Some really great history associated with this cache of course! Calculations were nice and straightforward and after a couple of other finds along the way got to GZ. Seeing it was a larger container made the search somewhat easier and looked in a few spots before I spotted something likely and before too long had CIH. A nice one. TFTC!
3rd time lucky tonight. After two DNF’s I wasn’t feeling confident as I started my hunt for this one. Thankfully I soon had the cache in hand and was out of there before the nearby muggles could get interested in what I was doing. Thanks for the cache.
On a weekend it was fairly quiet so we were able to gather the required info quickly and easily. GZ felt a bit dodgy but the younger GeoTeen made the find in a flash. Thanks for the multi TF5
I was out this way for other reasons so I decided to take a look at this multi. Coords looked good so I headed to GZ, where I found the container.
TFTC!
TFTC!
A cache check after some DNF s and all good , still there.
It’s a multi , meaning the cache is not at the first stop at the sign .
Good luck !

We searched for a fair bit but all the logical spots came up empty. Re-checked the co-ords but still no joy...
Starting early this morning with a CITO at 7am. Then some caching around the northern part of Canberra.

Nice one. I enjoyed this simple informative multi. Great hide too. It took us a while. I was habving a day out with my mate Knightech. TFTC.
It took me a few tries to calculate A correctly but I got there eventually. The cache location was identified quite quickly but I was a bit apprehensive going for the grab. I got over it and soon had the log in hand. TFTH
I love this sort of multi...
Informative, straight forward, and interesting.
Read the info, did the sums, and found the cache after a short walk from car. Nicely hidden too.
Nice work!

Yeah yeah of course he was right and.i had a too lazy look the first time. Himself gets to cred for the find... 18 months after we first found the sign..no smoke in our eyes this time.
Time for another trip into the ACT in order to collect some more smiles with TARDIS 0061 and phlphotos. On the way we also collected a number of traditional, mystery and wherigo caches paying particular attention to the CBR series. With our TOTTs in tow, all containers and logs found along the way are in excellent to good condition. Would like to say it was a nice quick find, but it was more a case of deja vu as we had to backtrack to WP1 in order to get the details from the correct sign. That said, once at GZ a quick find made. Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5.

Down here for a drive with TARDIS 0061 & teamMerlin didn't find #01 but found the rest till lunch break quickly. The micros were signed TARDTMPHL to save space or similar sequence of the 3 names. One of the containers was missing the log but had a spare in the car. The rest were either signed in full or stamped.
Came here for the multi got the information from the main sign headed to GZ only to find that it was the wrong sign. So back to the listed coordinates and got out and found the sign you really wanted us to use. With the new coordinates headed to GZ and soon found the cache
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache The Farmers 5 and thanks for the information on David Warren and the Black Box Flight Recorder

What a fabulous afternoon. I was travelling with KittyKatch, Sol de Lune and LuckL10N hoping to clear up masses of the CBR wherigo series. The company was great, the weather very cooperative and we found all that we went for. The only downside was that when we tried to turn north into Sutton Road for the caches in Kowen Forest we were met by a road block manned by Police. So it was that we decided that another day was the go and we turned around and enjoyed socialising over a drink and some eats.
Having worked out the final coordinates for this multi it was high on the list as some of us are chasing multis this month. TFTC Log signed.

Out for a day of caching with Smittengranny, LuckyL10n and Kittykatch and the goal was a few of the CBR WIG caches, however being in the area, we weren't about to miss a multi. Details were sorted and off to GZ we went. A bit of fumbling around however the cache soon revealed itself and our names were soon in the log.
The area has certainly change since I first started coming here in the very early 80's.
Thanks Farmers 5....

We are visiting Canberra to be with the family for a couple of weeks. At the moment the borders to Queensland are open but we are ready to flee if needed! Today we came out geocaching with OlMaLol, Who are keen on all things to do with flying. We remember parking very close to G said when OlMaLol Was a young pilot, and we would watch him doing his circuits around the airport.
Today we were all back on a different mission. It was a quiet Sunday afternoon, but nonetheless, our reading of the information at the starting waypoint aroused the curiosity of the security guard inside the building. She was very chatty and happy to talk when we told her we were interested in the history of the black flight box ( which of course is ).
While chatting, the mosquitoes were biting, so we made our farewells, hopped back in the car and did some number crunching.
We parked as close as we could for GZ, although we did wonder if another car nearby might be a fellow geocacher. Not so. He was definitely a plane spotter! You should’ve seen the size on the lens of his camera. I guess he must not have been able to do much filming earlier this year during the height of the pandemic in Australia.
At GZ it was a quick find and we soon had the log signed.
Thanks for another interesting adventure The Farmers 5

I had an errand to run out at Majura Park so thought I'd nab some of the CBR Wherigo series and a few others. The road was a little busy but no problems with pull over space near the caches. Best to do from north to south
While out in the area, I decided to swing by this one and check it out. Gathered the info then moved away from the location to do the easy sums. Worked out the likely spot and then drove around to find the area totally deserted. Wandered over and around and made the quick find and sign! Good to see a few planes taking off whilst I was out this way and I was very surprised to learn an Australian invented this piece of vital equipment! I definitely learned something new and interesting today!
Thanks for the neat multi, The Farmers 5 Awarding a fave point for this one!

Not hard to find real GZ with clues. Unfortunately cache storage was half filled with water and everything inside either rusted or filthy. Still able to sigh big somehow.
The first multi I ever attempted, and was successful! And was 6/6 today.
Need to work on my co-ordinate reading prowess still; my phone's dodgy GPS was also not that helpful. But still managed to find the cache after trolling around looking suspicious for 10 minutes or so.

Had enough time between qork and dinner to come out here and do a one step multi. Qhilst this place is always a bit weird after hours, that seemed to serve me well tonight.
Qantas put up a bit of a show with starting and landing planes while I was there.
Cache has collected a bit of water inside and some of the goodies are rusting. I drained it out, but didn't have enough time to let it dry out.

21,729. Found during an afternoon caching run around Canberra today.
minniek and I headed into Canberra this afternoon on a mission to collect 10 caches. This was the next and last one on the list. I happen to know this building pretty well, having been inside several times. The info was gathered and GZ calculated. We did this one on a quiet Sunday afternoon and it sure helped. A quick find at GZ and we were out of there.
Thanks The Farmers 5 !! A bit of humour at his funeral - love it.

Headed into Canberra with fitzy_1965 for a bit of caching today.
With the base being all quiet on a weekend, we made quick work of solving this multi and heading to GZ for a quick find.
Cache is wet inside so emptied out the water the best we could and replaced it back in its hidey hole.

Wasn't too sure abut the coords I calculated, but the maths couldnt have been any easier.... so off I went. Found in a logical spot
After the earlier weekends forecast of rain, rain and rain, a change to a dry day was welcomed! I only needed one cache for the day but ended up with a few others, the advantage of the weekend meant I could get something a lot further from home!
Plenty of parking was also a great advantage of the weekend, was a little unsure of the GZ at first but a check over the numbers and decided it couldn't be anything else. I was able to park as very close by and the cache was quickly found. Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5

To Canberra for some shopping on a very cold, windy wet day.
Water in cache but log ok. Good spot for plane spotting...if there were any to spot. Damn Covid!

I was out for a morning of shopping to get some much needed supplies and along the way I stopped at a few caches. It was very quiet out and about today, but the shops were busy enough.
I was a nice quiet day, so stopped and did this cache while I could.
Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5

Cache 6029 on 29 Feb 2020.
A lovely morning out geocaching with Fox in Jox, grabbing a few different cache types to celebrate 29 February coming around again... the second time since I started geocaching in 2014...this time there is the added incentive of the new BadgeGen 29/2 add ons for various different badges!
Wanted a multi for the day and this one was one the way. At the posted coordinates we were a bit confused until we saw the plaque near the front door. The security guard came out to check on us, and realising we were “mostly harmless“, not only stopped being defensive but invited us inside to look the photographs in the foyer. We wondered if she was bored... eventually wrestled free of the guard and made our way to GZ for a quick find!
Thanks The Farmers 5 for the cache and the fun!

Out and about with AngelG27 on Leap Day. Had a lovely chat to the Security Guard. She even invited us into the DSTG building to look at the 'interesting' display. Once at GZ, container was found quickly. TFTC TF5
A nice little offset. Arrived at the posted coords and grabbed the information required, a quick calculation and we had a set of coords. We arrived at GZ and made a quick find. Thanks The Farmers 5 for another interesting cache.
Info gathered quickly with a quick find at GZ. Log was dry but container had water in it.
I learnt a lot about someone I never knew off. Very interesting. Love a multi like that. At GZ thought I’d got something wrong but soon cih. Tftc
With a few free hours whilst the kids were at Czech class, targeted a few close by Multies and Mysteries. All solved quickly and without issue, the mysteries earlier in the week, the multies as I went. Windy again today, how long will it last? TNLNSL TFTC
Found with Nissan 65. Another caching trip up from the south coast. Thanku for the cache
Had to head into work a few hours early for some paperwork, so decided to find some nearby caches whilst I waited for my shift to then start.
Have been eyeing off this new multi for a while now and decided it was a good time to come make the grab. It has been a long time since I have been down to the back of the airport in this strange little off-location suburb, the last time I was here was in 2016 grabbing the other two traditionals nearby!
Worked out the answers fairly quickly, which I was thankful for as I had parked within eyesight but probably not the best spot...!
I then made my way to GZ which was much more cruisy and had the place to myself to make the good find
Thanks Farmers 5, was awesome to come back out here, a rarely visited part of Canberra for most I would assume!

Enjoyed with muilt and nice walked to GZ from short parking area...

After a wander in the wilds of Beard, I decided to pick up a few more urban caches. I've been looking for an opportunity to do this one since it was published, and a lazy Sunday afternoon seemed ideal.
It's always weird coming back to the old Fairbairn RAAF base - I worked here before the site was sold off and its funny how in amidst the new buildings and re-named streets, some things are just as they were 20 years ago (gz for instance is unchanged).
As for the cache, the required information was easily gathered from the interesting plaque, the final cache location calculated and the find made, all without seeing a soul.

Waited for a quieter time on the weekend to attempt this one. Just my luck that it was wet windy and stormy, yuck! So damp knees and muddy hands but cache located and log signed. Job done! TFTC
A day's outing with Marmaduke Rothschild and contesta caching in the Queanbeyan area and around the airport. On ya David Warren! TFTC.
A days outing with Contesta and JohnnyBoyACT around Queanbeyan and the airport area for a few caches. We did illegally park at the wp and gz but only there for a short time. TFTC.
TFTC good one for my 300th cache!
Out for a caching day with JohnnyBoyACT and Marmaduke Rothschild, and a great spring day it was for it too!
I was the one without a GPS in my hand and I picked the hide and went straight to it

A nice opportunity to revisit a former hunting ground of mine, although now a shadow of its former self.
Also good to acknowledge an Australian scientist who made a significant contribution to aviation safety but who didn't seem to get due recognition during his lifetime. Fortunately that seems to have been rectified somewhat since his death and it's good to see that Dr Warren has been recognised by the geocaching community too.
While gathering the data I was approached by a friendly guard who originated from South Sudan and it was great to shoot the breeze on a quiet Father's Day before heading off to GZ for a quick find, close to the squash court I used to play on.
Nice adventure and essential piece of aviation history. TFTC The Farmers 5 and FP awarded.

Out at Queanbeyan for some parts shopping. Once here with the nice weather a few caches were in order.
Interesting history here and a cool final location to see the flight recorders start and land
Thank you The Farmers 5 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

I started my caching day with this multi given it seemed a good time of the week/day to do it. Cache easily found. Appreciated the information. Watched the RAAF VIP plane take off. Impressive. TFTC.

I had been eyeing this cache for a few weeks now and finally made the weekend trip out to RAAF Fairburn to collect the information and make the find. TFTC The Farmers 5.
I needed to pick up a few things near by and Tankengine kept me company before we went to do a little cache maintenance on our own stuff for a special day tomorrow.
As we were driving along, Tankengine mentioned this one and that it was worth taking a look. So we quickly stopped in (and luckily too as I received a phone call I had to take so stopped easily in the quiet here today). But back to the cache, after being shown the starting point and how interesting is that! We were then of to GZ, thankfully I had Tankengine who had already foudn this one confirm where we were going.
I really liked the final GZ, nice spot. It's funny how I just think of Top Gun everytime I'm down here. LOL. The cache was found, signed and returned. Tftc The Farmers 5!!!

I had 3 caches around here that I had not secure on previous work visits to Canberra. Well, two really until this one appeared.
With the sun long gone and the building occupants also no longer around, I figured it was a perfect time to have a crack at this multi. Important information gleaned from the listed coords, I made the corrections and headed off to what I hoped was GZ. It looked ominous on approach and I wondered whether I had missed something at the start, but as I arrived and noted a little more space that I could initially see, I was a bit more confident. [^]
I headed in and immediately spotted a tell tale sign that led me to the cache. I took the container back to the car for business, then returned as found once my name was added to the log.
Thanks for the history lesson, while I knew the black (actually orange) box was the result of some clever Aussie engineering, I have never bothered to find out who was the smart guy. Now I know.
Cheers Farmers 5.

Found on a last afternoon caching run before the car goes in for repair tomorrow. What an interesting cache, with some very interesting history behind it! It was a great read at WP1 before heading off to GZ for a quick find. Very windy and cold at this time of day, but it was a great cache with a cool GZ. TNLNSL. TFTC TF5!
