Been to final previously and saw where the cache was hidden. Not there today when we came armed with a pole. Not sure if the parrots have moved it out of their way.
Day #2. I have had WAGB, and caching in WA, on my todo list for some time. I contemplated booking in earlier in the year but couldnt commit. Two weeks ago I decided I might just be able to make it work. So a mad scramble began. Last minute flights, accommodation and cache plans - tick, tick, tick! After being awake for almost 24hrs yesterday, I enjoyed a good nights rest and it is time to go again. Focusing on some caches and LGAs north of the river today, this is just one of the many great caches found. These little buggers stumped me for a bit, but I eventually worked out some numbers that the checker liked. The handy TOTT from meme28 sorted out this find and I was on my way.A big thanks goes to LAXA for taking the time to add Suburban 'FISHING'- Fish for plastic pieces to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Wow! The fun just never stops.Have you logged your will attend for Victoria's first ever Block Party? (Think Mega but even more special!)Join us on 22-23 March 2025 in Sunbury to celebrate 25 years of geocaching by logging your will attend at [**GCAP417**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).
With the assistance of a previous finder locating the container was fairly straightforward however that was the end of the easiness at this cache.First sign that this might be a bit harder than expected was when I had to jump with my arm and TOTT fully extended to retrieve the cache.Once signing was completed we started to reverse the process to no success, multiple times over the next 40 minutes kept getting close and having the pole bend in the wind losing sections and fixing things up before trying again. Changed angles and tried cloning other smaller nearby trees but in the end with the wind getting even stronger we got the cache back to a suitable and reachable location all be it not exactly where found and messaged the CO to explain the change. Venturing out with fellow geocachers I C Nothing and monkeywand, for our regular Tuesday night expedition. This week centred on the locales of Willeton and Canning Vale. Our objective was to try and change a couple of blue faces to smileys to mixed results. We also ensured we were equipped with the necessary TOTT to go fishing for some caches too.The evening proved fruitful, with a tally of 10 successful finds, though we also encountered a couple of DNFs. Thanks go to LAXA for placing and maintaining the Mystery cache Suburban 'FISHING'- Fish for plastic pieces for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 22:17 on 23/4/2024.This is find number 8869 for me.
Spending the night with IC Nothing and Cirrus_WA searching for hidden treasure. I don't think I've ever spent this long trying the return a cache before. Took a little finagling to get the cache down with CWA having to jump even with an extendable TOTT, but 40mins later, we were rethinking our decisions for the night. Cache returned to slightly more manageable spot, with hope not to receive ire from the CO.
Veni, Vidi, ViciHaving finally unlocked premium, its time to catch up on logs. Caching around Perth with BFMC, we found lots of interesting caches. Thanks to all of the cache owners who have placed and maintained caches for us to find.
Hi LAXA, We found your 2.5 4.5 Micro Mystery Suburban 'FISHING'- Fish for plastic pieces on 25/3/2024.Find 2908 for BFMC.The light was starting to fail but I needed 1 more cache to qualify for a challenge cache I signed in Adelaide recently. So I found myself here, pole at close to full extension. A tricky retrieve in the failing light but got the job done.A few days in Perth, first visit here since 2007. Caching with gcrew3220, grabbing what smilies are possible between work committment s. Thank to all the COs whose caches we found.
A while back we did a number of the them fishing caches in town. This trip we had our TOTT for other targets so on coming back through town to the airport recalled there were some others around. We had this solved so headed over. Plenty of looking and figured we had the correct object. It was then time to read some old logs and released it was not in its correct position and then soon found and signed the hide. We have now put it back in it’s near correct position so being your rod. TFTC
Nice quick find here as cache was around a stump at the bottom of the big deal tree. Replaced log which was mush. Tftc and the puzzle.
Quick find this time by Chwiliwr. I was looking up.
Log in bad condition but made a ctbh on it.
Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.

Day 1 of serious caching in Perth today. My main task was to find challenge caches which I will check if I qualify when I get home. After this I attacked a few pole caches which I was looking forward to.
Tftc.
Found at base of tree. Left there as was unsure where it went and log book soaked and needs replacing

Today we went out on a fishing expedition with ilook4geo, even though it was quite breezy. With new co-ordinates in hand we went and found GZ. The cache was spotted very quickly at a different level to what was expected. Log was signed. Then we wondered whether to leave it where found or not. We did not know exactly where it had come from, so we decided to leave it as the tree is home to several nesting galahs and we did not want to upset them.
Thanks to Little A for placing this cache.

Enjoyed going fishing today with goingplaces2 and this was one of the caches we reeled in. After the log had been autographed the fish was sent swimming back into the same place. This one was not where we thought it might be. Thank you to Little A for placing this cache.
Yay! Pleasantly surprised that no fishing was required anymore. I actually missed the hide but MDV spotted it. The log has dried out so was easily signed. Thanks.
A tough puzzle until you see the bleeding obvious! I was able to get this cache down but with a strong breeze I really struggled to get it back up, In fact it was hard to keep the pole in the air. I gave it over to SSR to return as he is just a little taller than me. As if to laugh in my face, the breeze abated as he returned it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
With the Wangaratta mega postponed, I suggested to stainless steel rat that perhaps a Perth trip was in order, knowing full well he hadn’t graced the West yet. We used up one of our last airline credits and with a little top up we were set. As usual we had a hit list of high D/Ts, virtuals (although I had done most on previous trips), oldies, large caches and favoured ones. We only scratched the surface but had a blast doing it.
We brought a ladder and pole with us but kayaks were going to be way too much to cope with on a five day whirlwind visit! Thanks to the many CO’s for their hides, maintenance and assistance.

No this one was at the extreme reach of our TOTT and it took a number of tries to get ti down and back up.
Myself and Goose had many plans for the tickets we used for this trip, i cant remember the details but I think it was three canceled Mega's and after the last cancellation we only had so long to use up the tickets and with a little bit of cash added we worked out we could have to a trip to Perth to hunt for some fine looking caches.
A 'shortlist' of 587 caches was put together for the trip albeit with the PQs of the whole state as a backup just in case we wanted to forgo sleep, in the end we found 120ish caches in 4 and a bit days, 60 of which were in the 4WD FOTT Go Bush series.
While we were over we got a chance to go to a GIFF Event and briefly meet a few of you locals, thanks for the chat.
Thanks for the cache.

We spotted this cache easily and then did the fishing.
The logbook is wet / soaked, but we tried to sign it.

Well I should have know what I was in for with a laxa fishing cache. Cache found easily but retrieval took 15minutes even with a helpful muggle providing direction. Retrieved everlasting hook which was making the retrieval with a bit more challenging. My neck is glad it is now over and needing a bit of attention from the Chiro. Unfortunately this cache did claim a casualty being my fishing pole. If anyone finds a black cap that belongs to the bottom of the fishing pole I would be grateful for its return as I can’t find it.
Laxa I have but the cache back in the host but it will need to be repositioned as I have not got in on correctly and my pole is not operational until I can fix it.
Thanks for another challenging fish cache.

The ring really is stuck. Now the hook from Everlasting’s pole is also stuck to it cause the only way we could get the pole back down was to pull with full force. Surely there’s other trees that don’t require a puzzle to be hidden 8m up in it. My second dnf here and it’s convinced me I avoid all other fishing caches out this way. As you can tell, I’m clearly missing the fun in this style of hide.
Just checked on this one
I is not easy fish this one down but I could do it with a 7m fishing pole in under 10min.
Happy fishing

Puzzle done. Came out once and found I wasn't tall enough and pole not long enough. Came back on a 1.2m step with a 7m pole. After 30 minutes I gave up - I couldn't get the cache over the fork of the branch - no matter what I tried. I will wait for someone to try and get down (or CO), then attempt again.
We have put out a number of these cache types in South Australia and no-one else has yet. So we were keen to try our hand at some local ones here during our visit. We had solved this one fairly easily as we knew this type of puzzle from previous experience. On our way back to Perth from Albany we detoured past this location to do the retrieval.
We did need to stand on tippy toes but that was enough so we did not need to go back to the car to get any other adjuncts. Our pole was pretty mobile in the wind but it did the job.
Logbook signed and everything returned to its original condition and location.

Solved this one last night with some help from the CO. Another cleverly written puzzle that taught me something new. Mr atCat made the retrieval here and thankfully we didn't come across any disgruntled neighbours. TFTC LAXA
Approached by grumpy lady at closest house. Presume she’s taken it. Pretty sparse tree and couldn’t see cache.
Found this puzzle easy to solve as we are a fishing family. A little bit of a stretch and I had the cache and preformed signing duties tftc
This was the next cache we arrived at to try out our new 7m geocache retrieving tool out!
I looked at this puzzle at work for a while, but with lots go Googling, nothing was coming into fruition . Later one night, Janine messaged me with a screenshot of the green checker .. smarty pants
Arriving at GZ today, the container was spotted quickly, but there was a problem ... a Galah was literally sitting on the wire
I extended the new tool and raised it towards the cache, but the Galah was not too keen to move on. At one stage, I thought he was going to bite the end off it .. I reckon I touched him with it before he flew off, leaving me to hook the cache.
It was retrieved and replaced without problem .. or problematic Galah [:o)]

A quorum of the Fott was here so we are retrospectively claiming the find. If that's an issue let us know.
An impromptu FOTT gathering was built around going fishing today. Allied Oz, Granett, SVKR_WA and myself.
So we met at Granetts abode and made our way out in our “boat” for the day. (Granetts not had succcess in converting cars to boats )
Another team effort at this one with Allied having the honours of retrieval.
Many thanks to Little A for placing and maintaining Suburban 'FISHING'- Fish for plastic pieces.

A great tree - lots of wildlife living in it. Can’t take any responsibility for solving the puzzle - happy to be in the company of those that can.
AlliedOz hauled this one in.
I had been interested in the new “fishing” caches that had been hidden not to far from home in the last few months.
A plan was made to meet up with Granett, Kyzabra and AlliedOz. Granett borrowed the required equipment from one of the COs and we headed out fishing.
In a previous working life I used to use similar equipment to measure the height of shipping containers travelling East by train. This was much more fun.
Little A SVKR_WA found your cache Suburban 'FISHING'- Fish for plastic pieces today at 15:02:46 14 Jul 2019.
Little A - Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment. We love travelling the state and visiting some places that we would only visit due to this game.

A little fishing trip with some members of the FoTT, AlliedOz, Kyzabra, SVKR_WA & I had an enjoyable couple of hours tracking down these unique hides.
Another puzzle that took way too long to sort out, needed a hint before I was on the right track. At GZ Allied was the one to spot the container so we made him do the fishing duties.
LAXA I found your cache at 3:03pm, this was the 4th of 5 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5458. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

This puzzle had us stumped for a while until we looked at things differently and with a bit of help from our son it all fell into place. Mr fratra has been working so this morning was our first chance to find the cache. We spotted this on approach and luckily we had our recently acquired TOTT to help us with the tricky retrieval.
