After collecting a tree fishing hide not too far away, we sat in the car and had a look at this puzzle. It turns out that we dont know our fish very well, but Google was a great help and so between us we managed to get the puzzle solved and since it was a short drive away we made our way to GZ, for a quiet search, a careful retrieval and then a safe return after signing the log. Thanks MrX and LAXA.Domsky

27-Apr-24
Out doing some fishing after spending the night doing some mystery solves. Nice height for our pole, no need for bush craft to get extra length. Signed log and replaced as found. Thanks for placing for our enjoyment whilst were out making memories

24-Apr-24
Monkeywand spotted the cache not long after getting to GZ and started to undertake the retrieval after working the container past a couple of smaller branches we were signing the log before replacing. Venturing out with fellow geocachers I C Nothing and monkeywand, for our regular Tuesday night expedition. This week centred on the locales of Willeton and Canning Vale. Our objective was to try and change a couple of blue faces to smileys to mixed results. We also ensured we were equipped with the necessary TOTT to go fishing for some caches too.The evening proved fruitful, with a tally of 10 successful finds, though we also encountered a couple of DNFs. Thanks go to LAXA for placing and maintaining the Mystery cache Suburban 'FISHING'- Do you know your fish? for me and others to find.I added my name to the log at 22:06 on 23/4/2024.This is find number 8868 for me.

Day 1 of serious caching in Perth today. My main task was to find challenge caches which I will check if I qualify when I get home. After this I attacked a few pole caches which I was looking forward to.

Tftc.

After a couple of dnfs it was good to spot and recover this one.

Went out this morning to go fishing on a another windy day with ilook4geo. No problem in finding this one and the retrieval was not hard either. After the duties had been done and the cache log was decorated with both names, all was put back in place. Thanks go to MrX for placing this cache.

Enjoyed going fishing today with goingplaces2 and this was one of the caches we reeled in. After the log had been autographed the fish was sent swimming back in the sea of leaves. Thank you to MrX for placing this cache.

I struggled with this puzzle because I had not noticed the link to the word search. I was set straight by a fellow cacher here in Tas who also decided to solve the puzzle too.
I spotted the cache quickly, pretty sure SSR got this one down.
Thanks LAXA

With the Wangaratta mega postponed, I suggested to stainless steel rat that perhaps a Perth trip was in order, knowing full well he hadn’t graced the West yet. We used up one of our last airline credits and with a little top up we were set. As usual we had a hit list of high D/Ts, virtuals (although I had done most on previous trips), oldies, large caches and favoured ones. We only scratched the surface but had a blast doing it.
We brought a ladder and pole with us but kayaks were going to be way too much to cope with on a five day whirlwind visit! Thanks to the many CO’s for their hides, maintenance and assistance.

This was anotehr shoart walk to GZ and an easy pole fetch too, thanks for the cache.

Myself and Goose had many plans for the tickets we used for this trip, i cant remember the details but I think it was three canceled Mega's and after the last cancellation we only had so long to use up the tickets and with a little bit of cash added we worked out we could have to a trip to Perth to hunt for some fine looking caches.

A 'shortlist' of 587 caches was put together for the trip albeit with the PQs of the whole state as a backup just in case we wanted to forgo sleep, in the end we found 120ish caches in 4 and a bit days, 60 of which were in the 4WD FOTT Go Bush series.

While we were over we got a chance to go to a GIFF Event and briefly meet a few of you locals, thanks for the chat.

Thanks for the cache.

09-Feb-20
We looked at this puzzle for a bit before we worked out what to do. An easy solve in the end. Got to GZ and had a really hard time getting the cache, with a few bush modifications to our pole we had enough length to get the cache off its host. TFTH and puzzle!

09-Feb-20
Today I headed out with the geoson and Kapelula in the aim of collecting solved puzzles and some fishing Pole caches.
This was tough retrieval with where KB placed it.
Definitely a bit of neck pain to get this off the branch. Our pole was also slightly to short with some bush modifications we were able to retrieve the cache and sign a ?blank log.

With some help from the CO I finally managed to solve this sneaky puzzle last night. Unfortunately we couldn't spot the cache today.

10-Oct-19
Omg. 20 mins and my neck was so sore it would not go back in position. The log is set so I’ve left it on a high but lower branch sorry. I’m not cut out for fishing!

Phew that one was at a full stretch on tippy toes for me, got there in the end tftc

I solved this one soon after it was published, but with me at work, I couldn't rush out with my 4 pieces of PVC pipe and roll of silver tape this time [:o)]. Instead, I laid down some hard-earned on a flash new 7m long official geocache retrieving pole Big Grin
Arriving at GZ, we spotted the cache quickl. With a quick extension of the pole, we soon had it in hand and the log signed. replacing the hide was also a breeze .. thanks to our new toy.
Thanks for a fun cache and the puzzle MrX .. keep em' coming Smile

A quorum of the Fott was here so we are retrospectively claiming the find. If that's an issue let us know.

A little fishing trip with some members of the FoTT, AlliedOz, Kyzabra, SVKR_WA & I had an enjoyable couple of hours tracking down these unique hides.

I was onto the theme for this one straight away and had the thumbs up soon after publication. Arrived at GZ and we spent about 20 minutes with craned next before sending an SOS to the CO who arrived a short time later with the replacement container.

LAXA I found your cache at 3:51pm, this was the 5th of 5 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 5459. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

An impromptu FOTT gathering was built around going fishing today. Allied Oz, Granett, SVKR_WA and myself.
So we met at Granetts abode and made our way out in our “boat” for the day. (Granetts not had succcess in converting cars to boats )
After 30minutes hunting, a phone call to the CO and him joining the hunt, revealed it had gone AWOL

Replacement issued, signed, and placed.

A fav for helping out as well

Many thanks to MrX for placing and maintaining Suburban 'FISHING'- Do you know your fish?.

After looking skywards for around 20 minutes, we put out a call to the CO. He arrived and was not able to locate the tree let alone the fish.

Between us we worked out another spot and it’s off again.

I had been interested in the new “fishing” caches that had been hidden not to far from home in the last few months.

A plan was made to meet up with Granett, Kyzabra and AlliedOz. Granett borrowed the required equipment from one of the COs and we headed out fishing.

In a previous working life I used to use similar equipment to measure the height of shipping containers travelling East by train. This was much more fun.

MrX SVKR_WA found your cache Suburban 'FISHING'- Do you know your fish? today at 15:51:32 14 Jul 2019.

MrX - Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment. We love travelling the state and visiting some places that we would only visit due to this game.

*ftf* @ 7.30am.
We are not big fisherpeople but with a little help from our friend Mr Google we were able to get this puzzle solved. Mr fratra has been working so this morning was our first chance to find the cache. Took a while to spot this one and luckily we had our recently acquired TOTT which made for a quite an easy retrieval.
Awarding a favourite point.
TFTC MrX this is find # 6963 for us.
