WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 29 - Bruce Rock to Corrigin via Quairading. This was a day of roads that while sealed, were not in much use. I visited a few used to be towns with one which still had a church and a scheduled service for April 27 2025, at lest they can plan ahead. I saw a rabbit trap on the old rabbit fence, lot of effort went into that enterprise. I had a few disappointing fails and plenty of great caches along the way. Plenty of cloud about today, but I think that just made it warmer. No sign of rain so far. Attending my 1st BYO Marshmallow event and needed to walk the dog and warm up this morning, a lovely walk through a frosty campground. A quick find TFTC

On the way home from the [BYO Marshmallows VII](https://coord.info/GCA8FDW) weekend picking up a few smileys here and there.

GPSr lead me straight to GZ and flipped over something more in hope than anything and unveiled the cache, another clever hide.

mavz243 I found your cache at 10:07am, this was the 2nd of 5 finds for me today and brings my total find count to 8031. The cache was in good order and I replaced it as found.

Enjoying some time off work out and a weekend out of town for Granett’s event at Kwolyin, in the Shire of Bruce Rock. Thank you to all the COs that were involved in placing caches that provided the weekend’s enjoyment.

Out on a morning walk with Ebenie and SirFancy after our first night at Kwolyin. This was a neat cache, the fourth of its type I found in the last two days. Cheers mavz243!

Full time nomads since February 2014, back in WA to visit family.

Still tootling around the countryside picking up some smilies after WAGB. Based in Quairading for a couple of days we ducked out in the morning drizzle, thankfully it cleared up for the most part of our day.

On a road trip around the wheatbelt areas of Western Australia for a few weeks. We are enjoying the many friendly towns along the way, wether staying in the CP’s or camping out. So far, we have found every cache that we have looked for, and hopefully our streak will last as we move around to the next town and beyond. Thank you so much to the CO’s of every cache for placing them for our enjoyment. They certainly bring you to many spots that you might not stop at otherwise.
This one was located close to where we camped for the night. Sneaky cache.

We had been planning an overnight trip to Kwolyin for some time and the cooler weather forecast for this weekend firmed up our plans! We set sail early to grab a bunch of Waymarks in York before powering our way east bagging caches as we went along.

G’day there mavz243, I was in this area today and found your cache Kwolyin Tennis Court GC88YA1. Our name was added to the log book at 1:27 pm on 18 December 2021. A huge thanks to you for placing this cache here for us (and others) to find!

We took up Geocaching on 3 March 2013 and this cache brings our total find count to - 12965.

On the road with megawat60 after our month camphosting at Cape Arid. Today we meandered through the Wheatbelt to our next stop, Kwolyin Campground. Here I could still see the tar sealing and the lines on the courts. Quick find, TFTC!

We have travelled from Portland Victoria across to WA to see our daughter.

We are the victims of what we have now learned was unleaded petrol being added to the diesel tanks at Eucla. Many vehicles broke down across the Nullabor and we were one of the early ones.
As a result our car has been towed to Perth (from Cocklebiddy via Norseman and then Kalgoorlie)

She has now FIFO'd out again so we were able to borrow her car and head out to explore the wheatbelt. Day one and we headed to Kulin to tackle the Tin Horse Highway.
Day 3 of our trip and we leave Corrigan and head back to Perth. After reading about the rock we took a small detour to have a look. What we had thought was a town on the map turned out to be an extown and we never really found the right way to access the rock. But we did get to climb it after we collected the caches below.

We camped her overnight and in the morning I went for my usual morning run and found a couple of caches on the way. A nice job on this one but it was just that little bit different to make it stand out to a geocacher.
I was soon on my way to the next one

Out for a wheatbelt road trip after the COVID travel restrictions have been lifted. With WAGB20 being cancelled in the pandemic, an invite to join others to celebrate the long weekend was perfect.
First night was camping at Elachbutting Rock with Barnzy12 and Cravo10 where we hit some great finds, beautiful locations and had fun on the dirt tracks weaving our way whilst caching out to Kwolyin Rock for the second night where we met up with a nice crew of fellow geocachers to enjoy sitting around a large campfire sharing stories. I have lost count of the rocks Ive climbed - but my body says many
I then head off on my own caching along the way to Northam where I spent a couple more days hunting through beautiful Toodyay and York and surrounds.
A huge thank you to all the COs for placing and maintaining their caches. The places I have seen and the fun I have had are testament to why I love this game so much. Its been a big 5 days and I am pooped but I have loved every minute!

Could imagine the setup here when the town was up and running and claimed the find after a brief search that once we found the cache we wondered how it took so long.

After conferring with the boss I organised for a leave pass for the weekend, that got extended for a second night, and headed out to the Wheatbelt to join fellow caches.

Day 1 had me dropping the kids off to nanna’s and slowly, much slower than expected, making my way out towards the agreed upon destinations. With half the day gone before I reached Midland I decided that I would make Kwolyin my base for the weekend and grabbed a few new LGA’s on the way.

I arrived at the camp and met up with Fratra and some members of the FOTT. In between showers and gales I was able to get my tent set up, wander around the camp area grabbing the caches available and had an enjoyable night chatting with the crew.

Out for the company and camping for a couple of nights, with the added bonus of picking up a few smileys, I joined SVKR_WA, Kyzabra, chickenhawk07 and for the first time caching in ages Rokadz!

The weather this weekend made us question our life choices at times, but all in the name of adventure.

Rokadz and I joined SVKR_WA in his car who did all the driving and directing for the weekend, a big thanks.

Plans to camp at Kwolyin free camp saw us pick up several caches as we made our way in, with the intent to arrive a bit after to lunch to secure a camp spot as it was the start of the Covid-19 restrictions being lifted might have seen a rush out of Perth, while we figured the rain that was forecast to fall for most of Friday afternoon and night would keep people away, we did not wish to take the chance.

After a break in the rain we wandered the area to pick up those in the area. A fav point for this cache, it was good to hear your story the following day on how you created this cache, nice one.

SVKR_WA, Allied_OZ and I decided to head away for a weekend at Kwolyin. Chickenhawk07 was with me as well. This was our trip out and we decided to grab a few caches on the way up with the the goal of getting there around lunchtime.

Many thanks to mavz243 for placing and maintaining Kwolyin Tennis Court. We found it, signed it, and put it back as found. We found this one at 5:09 pm on Friday and this is my find 8526.

With travel restrictions lifted to some parts of WA, it was time for a road trip. There was some conversation around a trip to the Wheatbelt and meeting up with some other cachers. From this a plan was hatched.

So, I headed out Friday morning with AlliedOz and Rokadz really early. The weather had been awful all week, and it was likely to be a little rough today. We met up with Kyzabra and Chickenhawk07 in Kalamunda at 0630 for our first cache of the day.

We weaved our way through the Wheatbelt heading for Kwolyin which would be our base camp for the next two nights.
