Here on a little road trip from Wollongong. Great views. @ S 35 16.224' E 149 9.477'
Was down in Canberra for a conference and while I was busy, I couldn't leave without visiting some viewpoint where I could see the whole city. This was the chosen one, and I managed to come up with geojessr and enjoy the various "axes" in my view. Was lovely being able to spot the hexagon of buildings that is Civic and where I was staying. TFTC!
The day the King was in Canberra so was i, wonder if he's free for a catchup later
Kolour and I organised a long weekend in Canberra to catch up with the great Domsky duo. Of course there was much caching to be done as well! We spent our last day in Canberra focused on some oldies, virtuals and challenges. Unfortunately the skies were not as clear as they had been over the weekend, however, that was not going to stop us.Thanks Sol de lune for the cache and bringing us here.
Im visiting Canberra from Brisbane with Willis007 for a long weekend with Domsky, targeting mainly oldies and challenges. This is my first time geocaching in the ACT. Domsky was busy today so we hired a car to finish off finding our target caches.Unfortunately the weather wasnt as nice today, but it was still a great view. Photo attached and tftV
Stunning morning today, clear skies and sunny. But wasn't able to visit until the afternoon, where the clouds took over and a few drops of rain were threatening to make our viewing time short. However the stunning panoramic view was well worth it. Tftc
Goldy is visiting Canberra with my friend "goldyscacheelf" for caching, museums and history.I have taken my foot off the pedal recently when it comes to caching. However, I have never been to the ACT before so the Territory is my cache oyster.I'm targeting the virtuals and highly favourited caches around the area.We started by visiting Parliment House (a place I didn't know you could even enter), went to Mount Ainslie, then the War Memorial. We had some time to visit the Mountain so we went up and had a look and did the virtual cache. Thanks for bringing us to this cool spot.Photo attached. Thanks Sol de lune for this virtual cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 4168 on the 13th of July 2024.
Ainslie fr weitere schne Fotos... Vielen Dank fr diesen Cache und Gre aus Deutschland. On our last day in Canberra we wanted to enjoy nature a little more and see kangaroos and koalas. We chose the "Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve" as our destination. After walking many kilometers there and taking lots of great photos, we went up Mt. Ainslie in time before sunset for more beautiful photos... Thank you for this cache and greetings from Germany.

Hallo, greetings from Germany. I saw this Virtuell Cache on the map and I found an old Photo from 2014 where I was here in Canberra. I was 11 Years Old. Small boy. I am proud to have the Australian citizenship. I a lot. My last visit was in October 2014 in Canberra. It was a amazing experience. We visited the Palament Building and Questacon the Science Museum. Rode Bikes around the Lake and had an amazing time. In the Australia Capital City Canberra. Lots of good Memories.Australia means a lot to me. I really miss the Country. Oh man how fast can 10 years pass since the last Visit. I hope to come back soon. Lots of love to Australia from Natur_Freund.
We originally planned to run up here, but thankfully a buddy was kind enough to drive us. In exchange for the lift, I introduced him to caching. A fantastic viewpoint on a sunny afternoon.Greetings from Oxfordshire, England.
This is always an impressive view. It gives a great overview of the thought and magic Burley Griffin put into the planning of Canberra. We always come up here to look every time we come to Canberra and a bonus to find a Virtual here.It wasn't a very warm day, but it was sunny with blue skies. Great for photos. We woke to a very cold morning and then the fog came in. A short move today as we traveled from Bowning to Canberra. But we stopped in downtown Yass to try two Ad Labs before heading further. We only managed a couple of caches on the way due to roadworks, but after setting up in Canberra we headed out to see what we could find. After driving up Mt Ainslie to see that magnificent panorama of Canberra we headed back and walked up ANZAC Avenue. Always a good thing to do, but this time with a series of Labs as our guide. It only warmed up a bit, but still a good day hadThank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Sol de lune.**SKI Pair****
Today we went on a hike to Mount Ainslie with our holiday dog Ziggy. We took the more leisurely way up and then made our way back almost in the fall line. On the way there were a few Tradis, a Wherigo and a Virtual to collect. Thank you for the caches, which made our hike more varied.
Hello its me, and it's quite chilly. What a view!Mt Ainslie is my favourite place in all of Canberra. I can't brain I got two hours of sleep. Merry birthday.

Amazing view and perfect weather today after a couple of wet days. Thanks Sol de lune for creating this virtual and highlighting Canberra from this lookout.Adding to our favourites
15:56we spent this day in tidbinbilla nature reserve where we saw many unusual, beautiful species like koalas, potoroos, birds, butterflies and many more.after the walk we made a short stop on this view before we continue to the next accommodation. thanks for the cache.
After a wedding in Bowral, we stopped here on the drive back to Melbourne and I couldnt resist grabbing a quick snap to add this smiley. Thanks for the opportunity to get this one Sol de Lune.
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. With only light rain forecast we decided to take the GeoBikes back into the City and attempt the caches and AdLabs along Anzac Parade. With a quick stop at Duntroon to collect some previously missed caches. Unbeknownst to us out of towners the CBD was a bit of a traffic nightmare due to road closures for the Canberra Marathon. [B)] It took forever to move the last 1km.Once on the bikes things went a bit smoother. Mr Felix tackled mostly the AdLabs whilst Mrs Felix tackled the intercache and Wherigo. Before joining forces again and visiting the war memorial for the 3rd time this week to gather yet more information. The rain tried to get us but held off other than a couple of very light sprinkles. Looking forward to coming back here on 25th April 2024. Wow this was crazy busy this afternoon. Lots of cars and people having a party! Cars were double parked including the mini car club. Quick picture and we moved along.TFTC Sol de lune

The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 4. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WA/WAC (WA Crew)
Over from the West to enjoy my first Mega.Out to fill my grid and find some high favourited caches. Lots of laughs catching up with old friends and making some new friends along the way. Signing as a team - WA4Beautiful view. Fav point awarded. Some logs are delayed and out of order - Apologies for that- its been hectic trying to keep up! Many thanks Sol de lune for placing this hide for me to find and adding to my adventures.
Over here for Canberra Mega from Western Australia picking up caches and meeting like persons. TFTV night time view
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. Ripper view! Love a night time lookout, its something I visit in every city I go to. This is my first time in Canberra, and the first time up Mt Ainslie. Cheers Sol de lune! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
We headed up to Mt Ainslie at night as this was our last night in Canberra. The crew Geotrakka Burns345 Cirrus_WA Barnzy12 Lachlan1.77 and Leg5 spent some time taking photos and having some laughs before we make the trek home to WA tomorrow. It has been an amazing time here and the hospitality of Canberians has been awesome. Virtual requirements completed with FP.Cheers!
I love Mount Ainslie and often came up here for lunch when I lived in town. It was jam-packed today, and I even got to annoy some Instagrammers by being in their shot - how dare I be out in public!! Thanks for the virtual it was heaps of fun.
Found on our journey over the week here. This weekend was mega weekend and we headed over with Courtneyrose_ Freddo, Team Waldron, e.gregory1, Davidwazza and Featherwaite as part of our team called: ABP (Alphabet People), the log books were either signed with the name, ABP or our individual caching names.A great weekend away in the capital and a very well organised mega, it was nice to be back in the ACT caching once again over easter with great weather. Thanks for the cache

**Total find count: 1399**It's GeoBash Mega weekend!! And nothing better than going geocaching around the nation's capital! for high favourite caches!Came up here earlier today for the GeoBash car parade, decided to come here for a night view of the city. It certainly did not disappoint with spectacular views.
We're in town for the Mega event and of course we had to take part in the Car Parade. While up the top of Mount Ainsley we decided to grab a few caches. This one was an obvious one to grab given we were going to take a selfie anyway! The geobrats were being a bit of a pain, so after multiple attempts we told them off and then had a selfie without them. Not our finest moment, but an accurate reflection of our day so far! Thanks for the cache - this is an amazing spot.
Found at 11:54 AM GAFF1.After the Car Parade event, we headed off to do this Virtual and a few other caches around here. A fantastic view on such a beautiful still day. Thanks to Sol de lune
In Canberra for the Mega. Sunday was a convoy to the top of Mt Ainslie. A great view. TFTC
After a tour of the Australian War Memorial and a visit to a market, my muggle friend and I came to Mt Ainsley to enjoy the view. I have been here previously in 2007. That day, it was grey and overcast and cold. Today, it was warm and sunny. Either way, the views are magnificent from here. TFTC
Found while attending the car flag rally.Been up here a few times over the years. Photo will be added shortly. FP given for the viewThanks Sol de lune
Looked at the view and realised where my tax dollars are being spent. The trip bit.Easter geocaching festival of twenty twenty four. This time it is the turn of Oz Mega GeoBash MEGA event in the nation's capital. It is time for a road trip across country to Canberra in the Sporty Pajero Sports. Freddo and Gridge98 traveling from Adelaide via a strange inland route that takes in scenic rural locations, dusty roads, punctured tyres, overheating batteries, various tools of the trade, special campgrounds, and lots scope for many many geocaching finds. Along the way we saw running emus, jumping kangaroos, wandering deer, dead foxes, herds of wooly sheep and stray steers.Arriving in Canberra we met our colleagues e.gregory1, featherwaite, team walron, courtney rose, davidwazza, e_smilie, and georode, signing as ABP, plus a huge group of other like minded excited mega geocachers attending event after event, and more events.Day one. Adelaide to Broken HillDay two. Broken Hill to WellingtonDay three. Wellington to CowraDay four. Cowra to BathurstDay five. Bathurst to CanberraDay six. Canberra to CanberraDay seven. Canberra to QueenbeeyanDay eight. Canberra to AdelaideThe generic bit.I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of padding the word count and winning that one hundred word diamond badge again. Somebody moved the goal posts. So many caches to find. So many caches to log. We find them, sign them and replace them. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Apologies for the generic part of the cache log. We do apologise for the generic logs. Thanks to all the cache owner for placing this cache here for our enjoyment. Thanks for the cache. Merci la cache. Danke fr den Cache. Gracias por el cach. In Canberra to attend the Capital Geo Bash mega event. I attended the Queanbeyan Mega event a couple of years ago which is when I did a lot of the touristy things. This trip was more focused on Geocaches. There has been an abundance of new high quality caches published since my last visit so more than enough to keep me busy. Obligatory photo is attached. Thank you Sol de lune, for placing Canberra - You're Looking At It... for the geocaching community.# # #14499 # #
Well it is Canberra Geobash Mega time and Im spending 6 nights up here on the Mega site and also the ACT has put on some brilliant weather for us so far.Well it is day 3 for me and after finding a few caches with Team Pork first thing this morning it is time for me to head back to Uni (or actually attend Uni for the first time) and see if I can graduate after attending all of the courses at UGC.After failing to graduate it was time to head back towards the city and find a few more caches.I was too busy at Uni and I missed the car parade but I came up here in the afternoon. It was packed and I had trouble finding a park had to resort to parking off road. What a great view from up here looking over the War Memorial and down ANZAC Parade. Thanks Sol de lune TFTVC.
Came up here earlier today for the GeoBash car parade, decided to come here for a night view of the city. It certainly did not disappoint with spectacular views. Cache 34 of 35Day 2 of 3 Oz Geobash - Caching with @itsonlybarney, @TeamPQS and @JustWanderingAbout
The second time Im in Canberra and I do love it a lot. Especially since I am into democracy and all that fine stuff. So lovely to look out over this lovely city. Greencordial asked BenM70 to do up a caching found template while she is doing the driving and Im doing duck all. Im actually just pressing the screen randomly like Im actually enthused to be doing this. Anyways, we are visiting the national capital to attend Grrencordial2nd mega as I got scared by Covid for Dayboro and didnt take the punt that Townsvilles coolest cachers BenM70 and burgo78 did. Thank you Sol de lune for placing this cache for me to enjoy!
Grub62, Smiley1982 and I visited your virtual geocache this morning. A great view from here if a little hazy today. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.

Found as part of the GeoBash Easter Parade to the top of Mount Ainslie. Fantastic views from up here ... but you know that already! Photo coming later when we have hotel Wi-Fi...
Found while in the area for the Mega run up the hill for a photo. First time up here but couldnt stay long as there are plenty of trees but no toilets up here and way too many people
????This is the Geobash boomerang trip, why boomerang? Whizzed past this area last week on the way home from South Australia and here I am back again. ??This cache, why???can't pass a virtual Quite a few people said they didn't expect to see me back for the Mega here and neither did I once I'd returned to Brisbane last week. Some investigations on the car and a final decision on Wednesday night and the speedy turnaround on unpacking, washing and repacking the car saw me leaving Brisbane on Thursday lunch time and arriving in Canberra on Friday morning. Phew!??Has been great catching up with everyone again and enjoying the activities and the wedding yesterday. Early start this morning and a bit chilly for a Queenslander but having fun scooting around finding caches before the car parade.Nice view up here.TFTC??

In Canberra for the Easter long weekend. Found after attending the Geobash car parade on Mt Ainslie.TFTC
bunadoorian, Smiley1982 and myself came here to get a special virtual cache. This is a surprise to me but this is my 4000th find. What a great place to celebrate and view Canberra. Thank you Sol de lune for placing this cache here.
Planned a walk up Mt Ainsley to see the mega car parade. Unfortunately missed the parade, however the caching adventure around Mt Ainsley definitely made up for it. As a Canberran local, one would have thought Id walked up Mt Ainsley many times. However, Ive never made the adventure up, only driven to the top. Was definitely an enjoyable walk and itll become a staple for the views along the way and up top. Thanks Sol de lune for the cache!
Quick mission. Love these virtual that request a photo of your gps when everybody uses their phone that is also a camera. Thanks
TFTC! A beautiful spot to look out over the city. Thanks for bringing me here. This was a very special find, as it was Grub62s 4000th cache. So we attended this location altogether for this very special find. Enjoyed this special find with both Bunadoorian and Grub62!
Well well wellI can see why uncle Walter won the design a capital city competition back in the day. I love the subtle changes in this view every time I visit.Today the lake was almost azure and endlessly shimmering, while the Brindabellas and beyond were covered in a light hazy film, from the recent back burning. Photo credit to Baristayanthanks!
Up at the Canberra geobash and today with the family was a touristy and fun day with a few virtuals here and there and this was one of them. Now that is a good view. Thanks Sol de lune for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
