Visiting the Adelaide region for a week from Port Macquarie. Today was a very long and somewhat arduous day, starting with an early morning walk around Glenelg before heading out towards the hills, Hahndorf, and Mount Barker. We then finished it off by targeting as many caches on our to-do list as we could before making it back to Glenelg just on dark for some gelati. Overall, it was a mostly successful caching day and are thoroughly enjoying our visit to Adelaide thus far.Our 4500th cache, although adventure labs we found later today means we have to log this one before some other cache we found beforehand to make sure this one is logged for #4500. Extremely hazy today so the views were very limited (I Can Virtually See For Metres would have been more appropriate title for today). We still managed to enjoy a nice lunch and splurge on some goodies at the shop, nice to see so many Australian made products in there. Answer sent. Thanks for the cache
Escaping for a few days with Tweety2 to attempt to fill our D/T grids & clock up 1000 finds for the year for me! I just finished my D/T grid & we were headed to get some celebatory food & drinks, but as we drove past Mt Lofty I couldn't help but pull in. With my shirt pulled down low to cover the recently formed holes in my pants from that last T4.5 cache, we made our way to the summit. We admired the views and then checked what caches we could find while we were here. Tweety2 sent the answers on behalf of both of us on this one. We snapped our picture, & now it is time for those celebrations! TFTC!
After completing our D/T grids today, we were winding our way home and detoured to take in the view. So glad we did.
While visiting non-caching family members in Adelaide, we went for a drive up Mt Lofty and managed to gather the required info for this virtual, as our first Australian find. The view was great but the wind very cold so we didnt stay long. The gift shop had some interesting information about bushfires. Answers sent to CO. Many thanks for the virtual, The Tardis Trio, fave point from us.
We had day in Adelaide before flying to Brisbane so what else would you do but try our luck at some caches. We were concentrating mainly on Adventure Labs , Earth Caches and Virtual's as there is less muggle problems. We couldn't believe our luck with the weather today for our trip through the hills. We pulled up near here for an Ad lab wpt but were definitely not going to leave a virtual behind. The cache name certainly sums up the area, we happily took the required picture after admiring the views for awhile. Thanks for setting this virtual up.
TFTVC, sadly the view today was barely meters but we have flown a long way to not see this view
Down from Brisbane with IolantheK continuing our 3 week adventure that will end up in Perth via the Indian Pacific Now in Adelaide at Mt Lofty. We had to get at least one cache before the bus took off again.Answers sent to CO.TFTC The Tardis Trio
T-Tech and I are travelling on the Indian-Pacific train from Sydney to Perth! Wahoo! Tick that one off the bucket list We've reached Adelaide and are taking the Hahndorf Gin excursion. First stop was the view at Mount Lofty and despite the cold weather, we were able to get this Virtual cache sorted. The sun was very low on the horizon so our photo is rather washed out! The visit to Ambleside Distillers was very interesting, and the meal and entertainment at Haus enjoyable. TFTVC, The Tardis Trio.
In SA with Hubby for a holiday from QLD and catching up with family who are playing tour guides.Mount Lofty was a wee bit cold and wet, but when the cloud lifted the views were amazing. After lunch at the cafe, we were able to get some photos and find the info required to log the cache.
Mrs Woodyrothwell and I had not long landed at the airport, grabbed the hire care and headed straight for the mountain. This week we are staying in Hahndorf and visiting some wineries in the Adelaide Hills and we desperately needed a map. We can both sniff out a winery like a blind dog can sniff out a rancid piece of meat, but feels better to cross them off on a map like you have achieved something. We cant believe that the last time we were here was 19 years ago. There is actually a very strange reason we remember it was 19 years ago. We came to Adelaide for a weekend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We came to Mt Lofty and found a key ring with my wifes name on it. Its a pretty rare name so we have never seen it anywhere else. On top of that, that ugly, fugly, busted, skanky key ring still has our front door keys on it.They dont sell the old leather key rings with names punched into them. They are all digital (and fresh and young and clean). We grabbed some maps, an answer and a photo. tftc
Took a short hike today with the family up to the lookout. Nice clear day, even if it was a bit cold! TFTC
Today was our last day in Adelaide (from Brisbane). Most of the day was filled with a roof top climb on the stadium and a drove to Hahndorf. Didn't get a lot of caches today. I think the holiday energy had worn off.
Today I needed some geocaching therapy so I targeted the Mt Lofty area for a morning of caching. Its been awhile since I visited the top of Mt Lofty so I picked a nice sunny day to enjoy the view. Answers have been sent to CO. Thank you The Tardis Trio, for placing I Can Virtually See For Miles for the geocaching community.# # #15061 # #
#14002 11:25We saved ourselves $5.20 as the card reader from the ticket machine was no longer working and the machine only accepted cash. But who carries cash nowdays. Some great views from Mount Lofty over Adelaide.TFTC Tardis Trio.
South Australia - Adelaide day 4... Brief visit in Victor Harbour for obvious reasons... Webcam!Visited this spot on my way back to Adelaide as probably it will be quite difficult to reach this place by using public transport. So the advantage of having a rental car for one day did a good job...I didn't see for a miles as the clouds were low today and also I had to evacuate myself due to a rain. But picture was taken and answers sent!I'm logging this Virtual as my 10586 find. Many thanks The Tardis Trio for a placement.
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - The Tradis Trio [^]
Now the 2024 LEAP Year Mega in S. A. is over, cleaning up as many caches in the area as possible!Visited the top with TeamAstro and endeavour3 , the latter sending answers for us both. Quite a few up here, no wonder as the view is fantasticThanks The Tardis Trio for your fantastic efforts and for contributing to this great game for myself and others to enjoy

Decided to get down to Adelaide for a few days as part of the Great Leap Forward Mega event. The general target was EarthCaches, Virtuals and Adventure Labs with plenty of other finds along the way.Nice views!TFTC!
Find # 13950I'm in the Adelaide area for the Great Leap Forward event. Not just for the days event, but making it a week long trip of caching n catching up with mates.Flying solo......Day 7. With an invite to go out on a boat, we had headed out to Adventure Island for the caches. Then I was solo Caching around Adelaide grabbing high D/T and fave point caches and detoured north for a series I've had my eye on for a while and was highlighted in the Mega informationIn all the years I've been over to SA for the Tour Down Under I've never been up here. So today was it. Wow I've missed out big time. Great view and worth the drive. Think next time I come up here I'll have to make it a night trip. Answers sent in and photo attached. Dropping a fave. TFTC The Tardis Trio
We made a slight detour on our way home from the Adelaide Leap Day event deviating to find a particular cache in the Adelaide Hills. So while we were here we thought we would come up for the view and the virtual and then continue on towards Tailum Bend for tonight. We also thought it would be fun to do the third optional question as below3. Optional. A plaque on Flinders Column has the elevation as 710 meters above sea level. What does your GPS say?Using our iPhones we had 2293.82 feet or 704.36m approxTFTC and have sent the CO our answer
#7559 Its our last day in Adelaide, were heading south in pursuit of more solved puzzles and exotic DTsThanks for the cache!Answers on the way

What a great spot to watch the sunset from. Weve never been here before so thank you for the cache and luring us up here. ??
Same place, different day, better experience. ??Together with my beloved wife Madeye&Moody I've been here the day before, but there was almost no visibility. A 100m perhaps, clouds were low.Today it was the perfect day for a second try.The GPS showed 716m a.s.l. and we could see much farther than that. Thanks for showing this place.#4292
Together with my beloved husband Destinator I explored this great location. We were at 716 meters and today we enjoyed an awesome lookout to Adelaide! ?? The weather was really bright and we could see for milesThank you for leading us here and many greetings from Germany.#4438

Answers sent via Geocaching messaging system. On a two and a half week family holiday road trip to SA from Victoria.2023 was a very tough year for the plowfive team, with Mrs plowfive experiencing some very serious health issues starting in late April. The rest of the year was spent in and of hospital (mostly in) getting treatment and finishing with an autologous stem cell transplant requiring 3 months isolation post the procedure. We are wishing for a much better 2024 and a very long remission for Mrs plowfive. So with treatment completed and Mrs plowfive feeling just well enough to travel we packed the car and headed on a road trip to some of our favourite places including Adelaide and the Limestone coast to make some great family memories. We had a great time and even managed to do a few geocaches. Thanks for the virtual cache The Tardis Trio (and congrats for being awarded one).
We visited here today on what is probably our last day in Adelaide, shame it was an overcast morning, still a great view. Thanks for the virtual Tardis Trio.
Sparkie and Goldy are back for a special Christmas catchup caching session today. We were meeting up in Mount Barker. However, I decided to swing by here and grab the virtual and EarthCache. As I've been eyeing off these caches for a while. I made my journey up to the summit and completed tasks for both caches. A nice day and nice view up here. The answers have been sent and a photo has been attached. There's a lot of cyclists up here at this hour. At least they don't have to pay $5.20 flat rate to park up here. However, I found the caches and the money spent goes to Conservation, so it was worth it.Thanks The Tardis Trio for this virtual cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3888 on the 22nd of December 2023.This also brings me to day #413 of my daily streak.
Thanks for providing a virtual in this spot, and what a view , thanks for placing for our enjoyment, I measured 709 mts at ground level, not sure what height the 710 was taken
Visited with Mr MR while on a tour to Hahndorf. Wonderful views. Thanks The Tardis Trio.
There are amazing views from this lofty position. We could even spot out cruise ship.Found with YGAT who has sent our answer to the CO.Thanks The Tardis Trio.
The bus 823 from Crafers to Cleland Wildlife Park stopped here for a bit. The nice driver encouraged us to check out the view. He did a crossword puzzle while waiting.

Left Adelaide after a bad nights sleep and headed up to Mt Lofty for a coffee… runners and hikers everywhere. We had a great view for about 5 minutes until the mist/fog rolled in & it became freezing cold. TFTVC
Found whilst being a tourist in my own town

A very windy and cloudy view. Adelaide is there.....somewhere! Great walk up in the morning with a friend, cloud descended for the lunch visit with the wife
Could virtually not see much over a metre today...fog and cold wind. Had a lovely lunch inside where it was warm though
I found free parking, climbed up & soon had the photos & info I needed (coming via Messenger). A charming introduction to Adelaide. Thanks for bringing me up here. I enjoyed my look around - books on poisonous spiders included

Enjoyed the walk despite the rain. Legs will be sore tomorrow. No views today apart from clouds
Last time we were here, many year ago it was a white out and we could not see beyond our noses. This time after a cardio workout we arrived at the summit and were rewarded with great views. It is well worth the hike up.
Picked up the Rat from her den and headed south to the Mount Lofty area for a Monday Meander. This was the third of eleven done before a FTF hunt changed plans. Normally I tend to ignore Virtuals but decided to put this one on the list for today. Answer sent, photo about attached. The GPSr didn't want to tell me an elevation no matter how nicely I asked it.
Thanks The Tardis Trio for putting out this cache for us all to find.

The waterfall gully carpark was full and so we decided to park at Mount Lofty. Before we had gone hiking I collected the answers and made a foto.
The hike was very arduous after three months without sports due to a knee injury but totally worth! TFTC

Answer sent to CO. Walked up from the lower car park of the Botanical gardens very enjoyable but MrsH did highlight ‘it’s all up hill’ of course it was! Coffee and cake at the top as a reward. My GPS said 711 metres. Lovely day.
Auf unserer Kreuzfahrt mit AIDAmar haben wir auch Mount Lofty besucht. Ein sehr schöner Blick in die Ferne. Und die Fragen waren schnell beantwortet.

I finally arrived here after Google Map directions had me travel up the old road from the last virtual cache I found and its instructions were either late or totally wrong!
Dithered about trying to find the info on the earthcache and finally got to do this one.
I also got the trad close by.
Thanks for the virtual today, with 6 degree temperature and fairly windy as well.

Thanks The Tardis Trio for this virtual cache. It was a bonus discovery after hiking up from waterfall gully. I'll have to assume there was a nice view. The rain started just before I reached the top, and I could see it was raining on the view as well.
Answers sent to CO. a relief to get to the top after starting the walk from the bottom. Amazing views. TFTC
