I hope these three phone photos qualify for this smiley. It was really helpful having the examples of each photo to get the right location. Very pleasant here on a cool but sunny morning and lots of people out and about enjoying the sunshine and scenery. A great idea for a Virtual, thanks tommygun9.
One of my target caches for the weekend, I do like finding virtual caches of all ages. Took me a while to get going so headed off to the breakwater first for a stroll then returned for success x3. Images will be uploaded shortly. FP here, of course.A slower easier day of caching today after a morning call back to the UK was made and a leisurely start to the day. I was keen for a couple of Multis near Urenui base, some kiwiana caches then a trip into NP to get the virtual caches in the city, plus other random ones here and there. Once again thanks to all the local, and no longer local, COs for their hides and maintenance.
Low tide to walk into both picture views. Nice one to todo at sunset. No one about to see me wander out still fully dressed. TFTVC.
Walking along here and managed to find the 3 locations required, though I never actually spotted the carpark cam location. Grabbed some screenshots on the phone to make the find. Thanks tommygun9.
I have the week off work so have come up to Taranaki for a couple of days or so for caching, tackling the Forgotten Highway and hopefully finally knocking off the E174 challenge that I signed some years ago. It's not quite the same, is it? I hope they come back in some capacity. Anyway, it's easy to spot me in the photos - I'm the one in the hat and blue hoodie. All good here and TFTC+FPFind #6544 at 19 March 2024 7:18 pm
We are in Taranaki for a couple of weeks so picked a group of caches to earn the Equinox souvenir today. This was the third of three and challenged our computer skills Mrs nzk struck a pose in front of the cameras while Mr nzk attempted to capture screenshots on his iPad. We were successful in the end (see attached pics). Thanks tommygun9 for the fun virtual, a fave from us!
As youngest team member of team GO_Jack, I want to do some virtuals during my six-month trip to New Zealand and Japan. On the way to the Paritutu Rock, I also pass this virtual. Opened the site on my mobile and after 3x print screen I can continue. It's probably obvious, but I'm the guy in the green t-shirt .Thank you very much for this one and greetings from The Netherlands.#3.569 - tommygun9 TFTC!
As one of the rare webcam cache owners ( had 2 until one had to be archived ) when we saw this virtual we thought we'd check it out, especially since we know this would not have been allowed as a virtual requirement back in the UK. Anyhow we went to all three locations and got the required shot - Tim in view with his wide brimed hat on. Our webcams are called 'Stick 'em up' and are required to put your arms in the air. So to follow on with that theme these three shots had Tim with arms in the air - well almost - due to the time lapse one was missed so no arms up, one had one arm up the other had two. That'll do TFTC Tim and Viv - ddm
We popped down to New Plymouth for a night to see the lights at Pukekura Park, got a couple of geocaches while we were there, had a bit of fun working out where to stand, thanks
Happy New Year, and welcome to 2024.My travels over the first few days of the year took me from Upper Hutt, where I welcomed in the new year, up here to New Plymouth, to see some bands play, via the Wairarapa, cos that's the way I travel. Having had a busy Geocaching month in December, January will be a little lighter and I will be targeting geocaches that I need for specific purposes. This cache was one I found. That was a bit of fun. I didn't really understand the parking rules around here (they really like to make things confusing) but after I sorted out hose issues I manage to locate the web-cams and take the required pictures.---Thanks to tommygun9 for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge
Heute konnte auch dieser Virtuelle gefunden und geloggt werden.Danke an den owner fr's herfhren und ausdenken.TFTCSchmerzbefreitGreat Webcam Cache thanks See pictures enclosed, the nice man with blue shirt
We are celebrating Christmas at the Holiday Camp. We had a great time with a good meal. We did the virtual/webcam cache the 25th to rest from the 24th evening. The cache is quite easy, the link is good and the camera live is OK.A Nice cache!
Day 16: Around TaranakiTodays journey took us around the Taranaki Region, where we headed as far south as Cape Egmont before heading up to Pukeiti, and back to New Plymouth for two more parks: Tpare and Pukekura Parks. After that, we searched for the best views of the Maunga from Te Wera Wera Bridge and walked the Coastal Walkway back to the Port. Another truly productive day, and thanks for all the caches around the Taranaki Region. (End of the cut and paste bit)Heres the specific log for this cache: Fun little webcam cache here, and a good rest after a long walk from the Bridge to the Port. You can find me in blue and with a red cap in the photos attached. Thanks for the bit of fun here, and thanks for the virtual!
Stopped by here with rattll (dodging paying the parking fees for a five minute visit!) Not able to see the webcams online, for some reason, so took my own photos instead. Tftc!
I stopped by here with matagouri and dodged the many muggles to get the required photos (sorry selfies not webcam photos). Thanks for setting this up
Nearing the end of our fantastic North NZ touring holiday, T4mmmy and I are now heading from south to north for our flight tomorrow. I really really wanted this one - would have loved this to be a true webcam type, but next best thing. The driving rain (which eased marginally for us - thankyou) was not going to prevent. All worked splendidly for us!Thanks tommygun9 for bringing me to this location. FAV!*{Overall find #11865}*
We are staying in Eltham Taranaki with a cousin I have never met before. We were lucky enough to be chauffeured around various places and picked up a few caches. We stopped here for a fish and chip lunch and sat on the nearby benches. It was very windy on the coast today. Afterwards we completed the tasks for this virtual. Shame it isnt a proper webcam.
What a hoot of a virtual, yes that’s me checking out my phone & saying to myself, yip that’s it, screenshot needed, push those buttons to make the photo, walk to the next camera. Thanks for bringing us here and having a super cache. Favourite given as it was so enjoyable and entertaining.
That’s me in the skirt, with my shirt hanging out, looking at my phone tray to take a screen shoot of each camera. Such a fun virtual to do. Favourite given.
After driving here, there and everywhere yesterday, today we decided to cache in the city.
Out and about with LNM1961 revisiting Taranaki and collecting caches.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache tommygun9.

With ABCDF4, eyespyben, and Gap (of Fap and Gap)... A planned expedition into the Taranaki region. All logs were signed with our individual handles, or Team HRP (Huntly, Rotorua, Papamoa) depending on who accessed the logbook first...
King's Birthday Monday: We have completed three webcam caches, but this was by far the most user friendly set up we have encountered. We arrived at the boat ramp and found a bloc of blokes breakfasting on the verandah. We obviously entertained them very much and they were curious to know what we were up to. We spent such a long time here that we forgot our purpose… Our best photos were taken here at the boat ramp, in front of an audience, as we mastered the timing. Our others were embarrassing… Thanks tommygun9

A free afternoon have Deane some time to go for a good walk along the coastline and this virtual was on the cards for tracking down. TFTC, a great idea for a virtual. ps, I’m in the blue T shirt.
Back today for another attempt at the *Walk the Plank* cache. JT & SP2 were going to join me for a nearby lunch but no; Closed!
So they departed and I got on to my other unfound caches nearby, including this one. Unfortunately the Boat Ramp webcam was down so had to come back to get the required selfie. Congrats for being awarded a Virtual Award. Great use of it. Thanks

We're heading to New Plymouth for an event we had on. Although there's a severe weather warning, that won't stop us from geocaching!
Had to look at our surrounding to figure out where the cameras were pointing. Shame they discontinued webcams.
TFTCSL, Thanks tommygun9 for this Virtual cache.

Cycling the waterfront cycleway on a superb New Plymouth afternoon.
I see why you took sunshine capital of us last year.
This was a fun Virtual and I wasn’t expecting to say that after reading the cache page.
Luckily Ms M has data on her plan so I did the physical navigating as she did the surfing.
Lots of boaties out today. They weren’t admitting to catching much.
A bit of lag on the web cams, to be expected. We are the two miscreants in the bike helmets

We had a great bike ride down the cycleway today and being technologically challenged, I opted for the selfie option. Unfortunately I am also struggling to put more than one photo on this log so I’ll have to write another log including the other photos… really enjoyed this cache - thanks for setting it up
This is my fourth geocaching excursion to **beautiful New Zealand**!
Due to Covid [xx(] I had to wait for 3 long years to again return to my beloved Middle-Earth [:X].
This time its a road trip enduring for 26 days, covering both North- and South-Island.
Today i strolled around New Plymouth and was happy [:o)] to collect some geo-treasures along the sea-side, including two walk-intensive Labs.
This virtual reward contributed to the finds of today. Cool!
Was easy to spot the cams .
A big thanks [:X] to the owner tommygun9 for the fun and the webcam-experience [^]!
Best regards from Germany !

Headed up to New Plymouth with BFG for a weekend out of Wellington.
Now that is a clever virtual! Took me a couple of minutes to get to the correct locations, but the screenshots hopefully tell the story!
Number 12296 for me. TFTC tommygun9 for placing this cache for me to find.

We were in town for the weekend to see the lights at pukekura Park while we waited for it to get dark we decided to get some caching in until it got darker.
It was surprising the time lapse here .
Thanks for the placement and the smiley.

I visited the only remaining webcam cache in New Zealand in November. At least here you didn't have to hang around in front of a hazardous materials store. The time delay of the live stream was funny.
Thanks tommygun9 for creating this webcam virtual cache.
We have been camping with family at the very nearby Belt Road Campsite, and as it's New Years eve we walked down here to watch the last sunset of the year...
The first 2 cams were me and my son on the beach in the twilight. For the carpark walk my partner joined me but is a bit of a chicken and wouldn't go closer to the cam.
Bye 2022 and here's to a fantastic 2023!!

Found while in New Plymouth visiting family over the new year, thanks for setting up this unique cache as a virtual...not many webcam caches around these days.
Photos attached below, thanks for the cache.

My Aussie phone is expensive for data so I opted for three selfies at the locations. Ended up having brekkie at Bach’s too.
Fantastic idea and favourite point added
Sandyofthesea and I took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We are now in the North Island of New Zealand for two weeks seeing family and finding caches.
tommygun9, I found Almost a Webcam Cache (Taranaki) today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Such a great virtual hide in New Plymouth.
I've found this cache during my first day of the Queen memorial weekend in Taranaki.
Managed to get 3 pictures by the cameras.
Enjoyed it so much.
Thanks for setting it up.

School holidays so time for a tiki tour to visit friends in Taranaki. I picked a wet morning to do as it will be our only opportunity for a while. Managed to get the three photos necessary which surprised me. Impressed that there wasn’t much delay in the video. Thanks for fun of completing this cache.
After many attempts I have mastered the art of this technology LOL
That is us (2 Bulbars)
Many thanks for setting this up and the challenge it created

We had fun with this. We walked there but didn't have a clue how to get all the pics. So went back to computer and got the new plan. So we now have the pics to show that one of us is there. TFTC
Finally .. i visited the site and it took me some time to get to the right places each time until my data ran out and i thought i would have to start all over again another time but now looking at the videos i actually do have three which means, i think, i did actually get to the right place each time . i really enjoyed this 'almost web cam ' cache...pity it cant be these days ! as i only have two - one in Chch and one in geneva , This is worth a fav point from me . Thank you for this experience
#20975. Really enjoyed this one. Had to be patient to deal with the lag in the various feeds. Didn't take long to get the three screenshots (Troodles included the photos in her log). TFTC.
Found with StreetWalkerNZ on our first day in and around New Plymouth. The weather was gorgeous and there were a lot of people out and about.
Invested a whole dollar for parking then had a wander to find out the locations for being in shot of the web cams. Took a wee while to find a couple of them, then looked up and spotted the cameras!
Have only found a couple of real webcams so far, one in Tauranga and one in Chch. Tried for a Melbourne one many years ago but it was not working when I visited so not able to log it.
That's SW in the white T shirt and dark shorts, while I'm nearby in denim trousers
Great idea for a virtual. TFTC.

Saw this virtual and had a few minutes, so I quickly came over.
You’ll see me in the green shirt looking at my phone!
Enjoyed the views for a few minutes until wandering around trying to get in frame for the Webcams!
Funny idea for a virtual! I do wish there were more webcams around though!
Thanks for the virtual!

I have recently moved to Whangamomona but like to try and come in once per fortnight and spend some time with my grandparents which now means normally spending the night after racing around town doing jobs during the day only to travel home tomorrow and get my groceries on my way.
After a full on day, I was quite keen to get some fresh air so I made my way down to Ngamotu beach and spent some time walking in the water and just doing nothing. I need to remember to make more the to do this when I come in, it can't be all rush rush rush.
After my walk, I drove here and collected the necessary information, it took me a bit of time to work out where the carpark one was! There was a slight delay in the first two photos so I could almost pose in them, but the third was almost too quick for me. A nice way to enjoy the evening, fav point awarded.

Time to visit this handy and 'different' cache. Probably better at low tide. Wanted to face the web cams but with the time lags caught myself looking down at the phone. Good work and thanks tommygun9 for setting this one up - a great idea.
Had to stop for this while in the area, as I’ve published 2 ‘webcams’ in the Capital — though mine have a log to sign. Had fun completing the requirements, though the Car Park photo wasn’t great as the web page kept locking up. Thanks tommygun9!
Definitely had to do this one while we were in the area. There was a bit of a lag with one of the cameras but we got there in the end. TFTC tommygun9!
Feeling pretty shameful as it’s the 5th of January and I haven’t logged a cache for this year yet! So off we went this morning to the newest virtual in town. What a cool idea! We had to wait for a hearse to pull in and back up to the entrance of the nearby club for a funeral and who steps out of the drivers seat but a good friend of mine! We waved at each other and carried on but I’m hoping she wasn’t watching us trying to position ourselves for these pics as we must of looked funny…here she is unloading a casket and we are facing the sea looking down at our phone in a straight line! FP for the laughs and for thinking of a different idea for one of these!
We came here with armed with a pose we were going to do in all 3 photos but that plan was aborted when we were spotted by a friend of trayc.g’s. We had to use same photos sorry as we couldn’t really stick around with funeral goers turning up. Thanks for a fun idea.
Thanks for giving us something to do on Christmas Eve and also a {FTF} for both sueparr2 and Juty bug. Good one, Tommygun . Merry Christmas and FP
