Hi StrangeTrousers, We found your 1.5 1.5 Virtual Virtual Tarcutta Memorial Hall - Virtual Rewards 2.0 on 21/9/2024.Find 3117 for BFMC.A quick detour off the freeway, purely and solely for this cache. I have heard wind of a challenge cache coming soon back near home that will require 100 virtuals in Australia across a number of states. We have the states, we have 100 virtuals but not quite 100 in Australia so they will be targeted on this trip.Jumped out of the car with the youngest (caching as gcrew). A nice little hall, quite enjoyed the mural. TFTC.

I was headed to Sydney from Melbourne and detoured into Tarcutta to refuel. Then I decided to buy a coffee to fortify me for the second half of my journey. Unfortunately the local cafe was closed so I consoled myself by finding this virtual. Actually I was going to do that anyway, coffee or no coffee....Thanks for find #6222TNLN

Found with sir_spectre as we started to make our way home to South Australia from ACT.Thanks

25-Apr-24
Stopped here to get my virtual count over 100. The hall was in use at the time. Anzac day isn't the best time to do this virtual, so many muggles.Found with Mogni. Myself and mogni are headed off to canberra on the " I missed the Capital GeoBash Mega " holiday, since last minute family problems came in to play and we had to adjust our plans by a few weeks. On the way over we targeted multi's, wherigo's and puzzles to make sure we had 25 in each or at least close to that total ( or more ) as possible, getting as many new New South Wales LGA's as possible, the 17th most favourite point NSW cache and every cache size in New South Wales. In the ACT it was getting 2 of the 5 oldest letterboxes, oldest wherigo in Australia, 2nd oldest earthcache ( with a side trip to get the oldest earthcache of course ), and ACT oldest cache too. I also hosted a CITO and planned on getting every different cache type i could and eevry different cache size as well. I also needed 9 more virtuals this trip to get my virtual count over 100. Finally canberra was far enough away from from house to complete the well aged well travelled cacher 0 to 1000 kms with a cache every 10 km's ( i only need 7 more caches to complete )Leaving the ACT it was going via Victoria to get there last active web cam cache and slowly getting a total of 20 finds in each LGA i passed through if i had enough time plus also hosting a CITO in Victoria as well. A busy 11 days. Trust me by the end of the holiday you would have thought the 6 meter ladder weighed more than 13 kg's to amount of times it was used or carried up hills or over creeks. If your cache was found with a broken container/lid it was replaced or if the log was full it was replaced or a extra log if the container was big enough ( except for nano's, do your own maintenance on nano's.

Photo taken and back to the car and off on the next challenge.A big thanks to the cache owner for making this cache available to be found.

After failing dismally at the Holbrook sub, it was nice to have some confidence at our next planned stop en route to the mega! We have a national series back home especially for Village Hall caches. We see you have SideTracked over here, perhaps you could contact Geo Jaxx and ask if she'll add this one to the series? Filled up with petrol next door, then no problems encountered with this find of course - photo will follow with WiFi later... thanks for bringing us here.

#1805After a really tough six months, The Welder and I have run away from home despite crossing the border, we can still hear the fireworks going snap, crackle and pop. We climbed out of the car at GZ still gobsmacked with the latest. But cracked up laughing at the nearby artwork a few buildings up as it really summed up the moment well! So lucky CO you get two photos, one of our visit as proof and the other of nearby artwork which could be taken so many ways, but fitting for us today! Hope you get a laugh! Thanks for the cache!

28-Mar-24
Heymissjo and I stopped by for a handy virtual en route to the Canberra Mega. It was Heymissjos idea, despite it being me that needed the cache.Thats #GeoLove!Around the time our photos of evidence were taken, in true Warner BROTHERS tradition, a brick fell out of the sky and landed on a coyotes head. When the coyote stopped seeing stars from the concussion, a grand piano similarly fell out of the sky and squished the coyote. When he extracted himself from the cacophonic wreckage, a large ACME anvil plummeted perfectly from above, hitting the luckless coyote on the head and burying him about 30 feet underground.Due to the concussions, the stricken coyote could not remember that he himself had catapulted these heavy objects into the sky in an attempt to catch the fabled Roadrunner.Poor coyote thinks hes just having a bad day. Thanks for the stop, and the Warner Brothers memories.

I love virtuals every time. This was a quick one which suited my needs today. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:Today I continued my month long journey from the U.S. along the east coast of Australia!! I was on my way to Canberra for the GeoBash mega and reuniting with the Aussie friends I left behind when I left Adelaide almost a month ago. I had a a shorter list than usual in hopes of getting to Canberra by early afternoon. I think I found all that I sought, but either way, it was a successful run north. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but know that I appreciate you.

Weve camped at Gundagai for a few nights and thought a day trip to Tumbarumba would be a great idea.Off we headed, up over the mountains, through Tumit and Batlow and on to Tumbarumba for a scrumptious lunch at the Tumba Bakery. A few caches were found in town before heading back to the caravan a different way. We always try and do loop trips so we see different places as we travel. This was an added bonus on the way back to the caravan, was calling into Tarcutta. To see the Truckers Memorial and this Virtual Cache at the Tarcutta Hall. The painting on the side wall was done by Sam Brookes, such a talented artist we met and spoke to while he was painting the SiloArt at Eudunda, in SA. Nice stop on the drive to Melbourne. Lest we forget. Our first visit to Tarcutta - good to learn about some of the history of the area while doing so. Pleasant that theres the rhyming memorial hall and memorial wall opposite each other. Quite a few commemorative pieces around here, including one for the Tarcutta Waste Water Treatment System (unusual choice!). Photo with the hall attached. Thanks StrangeTrousers for the virtual Smile--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In the spirit of reconciliation we would like to acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of country on which we geocache throughout Australia and their long lasting, and ongoing connections to land, sea and community. 6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.between Canberra and Melbourne, we take a few breaks to discover some sites Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful spots

Cachehilsen fra Ellen Sch, Norge Finally me and MrVon sr have made it down to Australia and New Zealand, -an old dream has come true. Team Eika and Ingsve have also traveled with us on this trip.We have been traveling cross-country for a month, and the goal is to end up in Adeleide and mega-event on the leap year. We have especially looked for old caches, to fill jasmer'n, for a couple of pieces, and for the other two of us who have started to think about review two.The vast majority of them showed up at their places, sometimes we had to search a bit, but we were usually lucky in the end. There were also some DNFs too. We have mostly logged in with the common nickname N4 (ingsve, Von sr. TeamEika and Ellen Sch), but our own nicknames are also used.A big thank you to all you CO's for laying out and maintaining your caches. Without their work, we would never have been able to make a living with this hobby.Always nice to have a new smiley face on the map. Cache greetings from Ellen Sch, Norway

As a once in a lifetime holiday, this year we are traveling for 7 weeks to Vietnam, Bali, Australia and New Zealand. In Australia we meet Ellen Sch and MrVon sr and Ingsve to visit these last two countries, so here we cache together. Now we have solved many caches so we have a large number of solved coordinates. But we are interested in all types of caches, so if you receive a log, it means that we have visited your cache. We haven't quite decided where we're going, but we'll probably let the weather decide for us. We want warmth because in Norway it is now freezing. We will stay for about 2 weeks in Australia and 2 weeks in New Zealand and we will end the trip with the Mega event in Adeleide on 29 February. So thank you very much to all of you who make it possible for us to travel around finding caches. On March 6, we set course for Norway again. There are extremely nice people everywhere and we are welcomed, we thank you very much. Thanks to our cache friends for good company on the trip.

Velk cesta do Ocenie - den 9 - Canberra, Capital Territory - Yass, New South Wels - Ballarat, Victoria - 820 kmDnes m ekal prvn dlouh pejezd z hlavnho msta Canberra pes Yass v New South Wels a do Ballaratu ve stt Victoria. Prost vedle toho auta jede 5 minut a pak ho konen pedjede. Peklo. Jsem po t dnen cest dost unaven, tak asi brzy zalehnu.I drive today a long way from Canberra through Yass to Ballarat in Victoria. Together 820 km and was hot and very sunny. I found some caches on the way like this one. Late afternoon I make a short detour and found the oldest cache in Victoria with fantastic view to the valley. In the evening I arrived to Ballarat and stopped at another old one (Medievil) and saw my first live small cangaroo there. So I spend a nice day. Thanks for all caches and greetings from Czech republic.
