Hello ricardinho.nz,Another day, another Cache.Together with Dr Donna travelling through New Zealand. We arrived at Auckland Airport and made our way up north. After visiting Cape Reinga we went on our way South to reach Stewart Island with stops in many different Citys all over the country. Of course we have an open eye for nice Caches but take what we can get. Today we came across your Cache and signed the logbook with our names or took pictures for Virtuals and Earthcaches. Its great how many nice spots we are able to discover through our journey and how many of them we only See because of Geocaching! Thanks for bringing us to this place and takeing care for the geocache.
Our stage today takes us from Kaikoura to Picton. On the way we see sea lions again, many wineries, unusual stones and trees and great beaches. The caches also take us to places we would not have otherwise visited. This way we explore the area and can turn some caches into friendly smileys. A big thank you to all owners and greetings from the Moorhelmi from Germany

Driving down the east coast was great due to the aquatic wildlife here.We spent ages looking at various seals at this spot, and also dolphins further out.Obviously it was lunch time for some and lying in the sun time for others.Pic belowThanks ricardinho.nzA fav from me
Touring around SI on our post-mega holiday and discovered this magic spot. We spent ages walking back and forward spotting the seals of different sizes and colours; around 50 to 60 in all. We'd not seen nesting seagulls up close before either. Thanks ricardinho.nz.
CaptainVimes and I have crossed the ditch to attend the Geo Toroa mega in Dunedin and tour around the South Island for two weeks.Amazing to see all the seals and some of them very active. So many cute young ones too. Thanks ricardinho.nz and happy caching
Caching with taybee nz on our way back from peggioh. Been a great day so far. Nice to see a bunch of seals lazing on the rocks haha. Tftc
Cool. All yhe seals are looking pretty lean. Perhaps still being affected by the cause of last year's dieback??Tftc
We are on our way north after attending the Mega in Dunedin and stopped here for the cache and some pics of the dealsTFTC
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there we had crossed over on the Ferry earlier in the week & are heading South thought wed stop here & view the seals couldnt get over how numerous they are almost forgot to do the caches the GPS took us down towards the exit of the carpark but no sign there, I had seen it as we drove so we walked back to the entrance of the carpark took the necessary photo (attached) were pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... On a road trip with Net61 from Blenheim to Kaikoura collecting caches as we head south. We were lucky that there was only one other car in the carpark today. We stopped to check out all the seals below basking on the rocks. TFTC
Thanks for virtual cache. On holiday exploring top section of the South Island. Love Ohau Point, so many seals!
Wonderful spot to see a lot of fur seals. Havent seen so many seals in my entire life before. Unfortunately the pictures I made are not showing too many, I rather made videos.Actually down the way I learned that the earthquake also put some plants into troubles as they only grow in this area and nowhere else worldwide and that most of them have been effected by the big earthquake in 2016. (First picture)
Lovely place to stop and watch the seals and have lunch. Was last here in 2015 and remember the waterfall.
TFTC, what a fabulous spot for a bit of seal watching while enjoying a brew could easily watch them all day
Driving past this way today so stopped off to check out the views here before taking some photos and continuing on to find the nearby trad, TFTC
Its a cold blustery day here today. This was one of my husbands bullkelp study sites in the 1970s. There werent any seals here then; they moved in subsequently. TFTC.

So many seals to see here - wonderful. Thank you for showing us this place. Thank you very much for the cache!
Fifth day in New Zealand ??. This is my first visit to this extraordinary country and the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. In the past, it always failed due to the lack of a travel companion. Now I had the chance to join a large group of mainly German geocachers and I was delighted to take it. After a stopover in Qatar and 8 days in Australia, our journey continued from Auckland to Queenstown with various stopovers.Today we continued our journey by bus from Blenheim to Christchurch along the coast. On the way, we saw lots of seals sunbathing on the rocks. That was a real highlight. We also passed this virtual one and were able to take the required photo with a little creativity. Thank you for laying & taking care .Fnfter Tag in Neuseeland ??.
Today we took the bus to Christchurch and passed the sign. We stopped a few kilometers further to observe the animals. TThank you for their virtual cache, says ollilein

Our bus tour took us along the coast. We saw an incredible number of seals. ?? Such a colony was absolutely new and fascinating for us. ?? We knew that we wouldn't be stopping at the Virtual car park. That's why we were creative on the way there and prepared ourselves for the photo. We hope that the owner will recognise our efforts to fulfill the conditions of "Seal the deal (Canterbury)". ??Danke ricardinho.nz??

My husband and i are on a 2 week vacation from BrisbAne Australia and today we travelled from Kaikoura to Nelson. What a beautiful drive and today i really wanted to stop here to check out the seals and of course find this cache. There were heaps of seals here and they were having a lovley time swimming around. We took the photo needed and a lot more. Thanks for taking us here and for the fun virtual. Giving it a FP when i have one to give
Great spot for seal watching. We are visiting from Canada and are combining sightseeing with a bit of caching. We have relly enjoyed our tour up #1 highway.
decided to pop past on our way to Christchurch to see the seals and saw the opportunity for this cache! Tftc
This was the only sign I could find. It doesn't look identical to the one in your photo though. TFTC
On our way to Kaikoura, I was driving and hubby says there are seals. Spotted the carpark/viewing areas and quickly pulled in. So many baby seals there today - lovely. I trotted off to take the required photo while hubby returned to the car. Many thanks for setting
From Christchurch, on our way to Blenheim, we took this awesome coastal road and past this seal beach. I checked it in advance to plan a stop here. Two easy caches are always welcome! The seals have loads of pups, which was a blessing to watch! A fun virtual thank you. Wandered down to get a photo of the sign after taking lots of photos of seals. Heaps of babies on our visit. All calling for their mums.
We stopped by here on our tour and found the cache. Took a photo and watched the seal. Thanks and gretting from Germany.
Though it was a bit windy it was great to see the seals bathing in the rays of the sun. Thanks for the virtual and a FP given.
Visiting from the UK and stopped to take a look at the view. Bit of a windy day so we didn't linger too long but we did see a number of seals and youngsters on the rocks. Also delighted to see the Spotted Shags nesting in the rocks nearby. TFTVC
Well this was incredibly unexpected. 1MinnieMoo and I pulled up for this one and we were so pleased to see some seals somewhat up close. We took our obligatory photos and moved. TFTV richardinho.nz
28/9/2023 Find #6661Day 20 of the Fangsoki/1MinnieMoo New Zealand South Island adventures. Today we left Nelson, journeying to Hanmer Springs. We were keen to grab a few caches along the way, particularly wanting a couple around the Marlborough area. Of course virtuals are always of interest, and somewhere that we might see the seals is an added bonus too!!And see the seals we certainly did today! There were so many of them here - and yes you could also smell them. Big ones, little ones, sleepy ones, restless ones. They were all there for the viewing, so wonderful to see. Thanks for the cache ricardinho.nz.
Parked up, watched the seal, made a coffee. Took a few snaps and then waited for the long red light; how long must the traffic works go on here? That wall is taking forever. Q. Why did you make the virtual location different from the photo location? Not having images on the GPS meant I took my photo at the given coordinates; where I had the choice of a rather cool stencil or a very informative sign.
Pulled over here on the way to Kaikoura. My son loved the seals here and got really excited about how many of them there were. Took me a minute to spot the sign (as had parked at the other end) but all good! Tftc
Heading down to Christchurch for the weekend. Had time to grab a few caches on the way. Managed 10 caches all close to the road. Quick stop, find, sign and then time to watch the seals. Last time we were here was pre earthquake so interesting to see all the changes. Great spot, happy to add a favourite point. Thanks for the smiley
We were driving home from Kaikoura, so this was a natural stop. It was raining really, really hard so I only had time to take a quick photo at this sign. TFTvC.
We stopped at Ohau Point on our way the Kaikura. An amazing spot!we saw hundred of seals !

What a great spot for a Virtual Cache. There were tonnes of seals out and about, talking and squealing amongst themselves. Our dogs were a little concerned, they do sound a bit like puppies.
We have attached photos as per the requirement. Thank you for the placement here. TFTVC

Passing by here once again . last time we had grand daughter with us and we took her up to the Pool via the DOC track which she loved. Can no longer do this track at the present but we could still watch the seals on the rocks at this point. The seal pups are just like dog pups - on the go all the time . I took a photo of the sign and then continued to locate the trad that is near by . this is a great lace to stop to break the journey and it is wonderful what they have done here since the earthquake . loved the metal 'sculpture on fence line as in photo . thank you for this virtual cache here .
On a 2023 Autumn trip to the deep south. This is a must-stop location on the Scenic Kaikoura coast. I was lucky enough to have seen the seal frolic under the waterfalls, before the quake. One of those great memories.
Rahmschnitzel2704 and I passed by here during our roadtrip through New Zealand and also visited this interesting spot.
Thanks a lot for showing us this place!
