There are still a few caches to collect in Oatley Park. And we were actually able to find and successfully log two multis, the lab caches with the bonus and a traditional and a myst. We had a great day in the park with wonderful views and lovely walks. Always accompanied by the calls of the cockatoos. Many thanks to GeodudeAu for placing the caches. Greetings from the Moorhelmi from Bavaria
Our first multi cache!Easy find if you get the coordinates correct. Very fun find for our family, TFTC!
Although this wasn't the final cache today it was the final cache that was a unique find for me. I learned some history and some new words here. The maths worked, but rassilon256 and I made the approach harder than it needed to be
Well you never know where you will end up or what you will see and find. Our walking group today visited the Lime Kiln wetlands and then came to Oatley Park and the leader chose The Castle for our morning tea stop. I did not know that structure was there! While they were resting and eating I explored the castle and collected the required information and calculated GZ. We did some more walking then everyone dashed off not staying for lunch, things to do I guess.I had things to do too, walk to GZ!So I sat in the Castle grounds to eat my lunch then walked along the track to GZ. I did not know there were Oatley Park Baths, and they are huge, 318m from one pontoon to the other!Quickly found the cache once at GZ as the co-ords were excellent.TFTC # 5916
A quick find once at final GZ. Spotted after a short walk from the first stage. Interesting place to gather some info!
Found while completing the Adventure Lab in the area. What a great place for a quick multi.
9 weeks post open heart surgery & I have to say it is lovely to be able to get out and walk in some beautiful scenery again. OK I'm still not going to win any speed or distance competitions, but I can get out & about & do bush walks & stairs I couldn't even have thought about a few months ago. Woohoo! A nice easy multi & a beautiful walk to GZ. TFTC.
After struggling with the entering coordinates found it quickly at gz. Kids enjoyed this cache. Tftc
This one felt like a real adventure! With castles and coastlines and maps to buried treasure of course! Felt like a proper pirate!
Signed and returned as found, matey! Arrr! Take a favourite point from me!

Gathered information for coordinates and was on our way. Explored the structure all the way around, lots of great hiding spots but no luck today. Hopefully next time!
Followed the task- got coords and found the cave, however after searching for some time we couldn’t find it. Lots of great hiding spots
Found It!
Interesting structure. Didn't see Darryl Kerrigan there. Did the counting at WP1 then went to GZ after the nearby event. Nice spot and a nice walk.

I am gradually catching up with my logging - am currently a "few" months behind. But that's still over 100 caches! At least my most recent finds are up to date - just need to fill in the gap!
To be honest, while I still find searching for caches fun, I'm finding logging less so. But I have to log to get me stats and souvenirs, so...
Only a few Adventure Labs and my First2Finds have been written up in a timely manner - don't want people racing out when it's already been snaffled.
Nevertheless, I have kept up with my 2022 goal of 16 finds per caching day. In fact, for the most part my modus operandi has been to actually aim for 20. So far I've only failed on that a few times, and only by 1 find. Amazingly I'm on track for 19 finds per day, I just have to put my mind to my future goals... 25 per day? Owwww.
Thanks to all the CO's who have made it possible to keep my goal in sight. Most of the finds have been Traditionals, but a few Puzzle series and the odd other cache type have been grabbed where possible.
Sorry the logs are very generic, but I'll never catch back up otherwise.
###END OF GENERIC ABJECT GROVELLING SECTION###
Another day just keeping those numbers ticking over. Headed to Oatley for a few finds, Oatley Park in particular. found two there, then botched the Earthcache - missed one piece of info. Sigh.
So headed to a spot in the middle of the river for my final find.
And of course one DNF reared its ugly head.
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
Now here is a familiar spot. Love me a good crenellation, I do.
Unlike the last find here I quickly crunched my numbers and had a promising GZ.
Headed there, and muggle free, I only needed a quick search to turn up the prize.
Signed, replaced and then off to the Earthcache that still needs another visit.

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. A lovely area to visit.
Great puzzle. did not know the area was here. the walks are amazing and the wildlife beautiful. cheers eddie.
Certainly a nice place to visit. A very nice multi with straightforward questions. Then a nice walk to GZ to find this nicely placed cache. TFTC GeodudeAu
Interesting feature in an unexpected area . With the assistance of SueDan83 our "task" was quickly done. Now I know what Crenels and merlons are ! TFTC GeodudeAU
Back in February 2021, Mrs Gaztek came to collect the required information but hel off the hunt for another day. Over a year later we returned together to hunt for the container. The river is very, very brown. But we are lucky to have a mostly sunny Sunday to be in this great park. The path to GZ is wet and a little slippery but the container and log are safe and dry. TN L a bird tag and a ladybug SL TFTC Cheers… Gaztek
Enjoyed looking around the castle and the walk around the park in general. The cache was a quick find once at the right level however was not so easy to reach. Finally got there in the end. TFTC.
TFTC,
Always good to come over here and spend some time walking around.
What a journey it has been to get my signature into the log book.
It started with a problem I am finding becoming more common. Too often, I am reversing numbers and during the months that I have spent on this cache with Nana nel, it has happened twice.
Well we had the correct location on our last visit but after a long search gave up. Today we were back again and this time, I picked up something a previous finder said and after a short visit to GZ according to my GPS, I used an old school caching technique to locate the cache some distance from where we suspected it to be.
Visited trackables.

Back today to have another look, I felt we had checked out all the rocks, caves etc in the area, just not this place, Wazza9 quickly had his hand on the cache, signed the log and left a trackable to travel. Thanks to CO.
Made an error at counting tables but that’s a fantastic castle. Looked at my program of work for the day and had Norwest then Riverwood, thus completed my work at roughly 2:30pm, allowing me the opportunity to cache out this way. Spent the late afternoon in lovely Oatley Park.
Rather a quick find after correcting the tables, thanks geodudeAU

Nice find with The Teddies. Coordinates were not exact so took us a little longer than expected to find . TFTC!
GeodudeAU I found your cache The Castle on 28/12/2021, 3:50 pm. This is my find 3257 and find # 4 today. Did the observations and calculations and came up with favourable coordinates. Lovely walk to GZ for a quick and easy find. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
Found this one after gathering the info last time I was in the area. I parked the car to head around to the grey havens and got this one on the way. Thanks for taking me here, it’s an odd construction and doesn’t really fit well in the Australian bush! TFTC
What a beautiful day to be doing some caching in southern and soutwest Sydney, almost too hot at times.
I grabbed a handfull of Labs and mixed bag of caching types as I made my way around the burbs.
Never knew this place was here and a bonus being 2 for 1. Grabbed the info and then made way to picturesque GZ.
Thanks to all the CO's for placing thier caches and the wildlife encounters I had along the way.

No problem working out this one at wpt1 while I ate my ice cream. Last cache of the day after an awesome walk around the park. Off to a very spectacular spot to find GZ. Cache is in great condition. Still well hidden.
First day/weekend back caching out of area after the lockdown, woohoo. So nice to be out there again.

My previous time here was disturbed by a group of school kids so left for another time. This is the next time and rechecked the figures and found the cache
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache GeodudeAU

Out for an afternoon cache run collecting some caches around Oatley Park. Another nice two stage multi - information was gathered from WP1 before doing some calculations and then proceeded to walk around to our calculated coordinates. A quick find at GZ and surprised to see the container survived the recent fires only by inches. With the cache in hand we signed the log before replacing as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for the cache GeodudeAU.
The following TBs came through for the mileage : Vanlith The Youngling, Bob geoMinion, Dave geoMinion, Evil geoMinion, Larry geoMinion, Jerry geoMinion, Stuart geoMinion, teamMerlin's 7 Deadly Ducks Tag (Lust), teamMerlin's Football, Mary Hyde's Treasure, Hidden Creatures Geocoin TB, Merlin's Steed

After gathering all the information recently I did my maths and today back to make the find. I wasn't entirely sure I had things right but after a nice walk along the water I was soon at my GZ and after a bit had the CIH. There had been a little backburning which I was worried about but that came right to GZ but no issues with the cache. Certainly an interesting feature and this is such a nice piece of bushland. TFTC!
Out here in Oatley Park to do the CO’s Adventure Lab and managed to find a few extra caches.
Walked around The Castle collecting information to complete the coords.
Then there was a lovely walk along one of the many trails in the park to GZ.
If it wasn’t for the hint I doubt I would have found the cache.

OCW frazeydaze on a lovely Sunday morning in a lovely park. After collecting the necessary information from the castle it was off to gz where frazeydaze was all over it and had the CIH in quick time. I was a bit apprehensive walking to gz seeing all the back burning recently that has been carried out by the RFS. Cache container and contents are all in good condition. TFTC GeodudeAu.
Worked out where GZ was and took a walk only to find a dozen people sitting 8M from the cache. Time to walk away and come back another day.
While doing the new Adventure Lab cache in Oatley Park we also did this one. After getting the information we headed off to GZ.
There has been a fair bit of hazard reduction burn off in the area but we found the cache in good condition. TFTC GeodudeAU.

Having a nice long walk around Oatley Park today and visited the Castle. Expanded my vocabulary, collected what was required and calculated GZ but it was in a different direction than where I was heading. Will return another day to seek the container. Cheers... Gaztek
Second time lucky with this guy. Came back, re did the calc, ended up in exactly the same spot but this time cache was soon found. This area is great, the rivalry between the cockatoos and cookaburras is really funny. Thanks for placing
It feels good to avenge a previous dnf! I came by today and recalculated the coordinates I got last time I attempted this cache, and to my surprise I got the exact same set of coordinates. So I set out and I realised that a simple misunderstanding of the description cost me the prize last time! This time though my head was clear and I made a quick find at ground zero! Thank you for the multi!
Lovely afternoon stroll through the park. Never been here before so thanks for bringing me down here.
After a failed attempt to find parking at cronulla we decided to head to oatley park. Thanks for this multi in a beautiful location.
Very fun cache to find. Kept looking in the wrong spots at first but found it in the end. TFTC
My first multi! Loved the puzzle and hunt. Make sure you take a tall person with you to find the actual cache. My 5'2" is too short. Cache in excellent condition. Oatley Park is lovely, spent the day here.
Found it with Anominous Sign on 19/07/2020.
Never would I thought there is a castle in Oatley. TFTC!

We had a nice walk around the castle, collecting the needed info. Then off to GZ. A few passes of the area and the cache was found. TFTC!

After getting a dnf on a mystery i looked this one up. I saw it when it was first published and has been on my to do list ever since.
After parking at the castle and getting my first bit of info before i even left my car i gathered the other numbers while a maintenance worker cleaned the area.
Ive visited Oatley Park a fair number of times but never actually walked along the section on my way to the cache. There were a fair number of people out this morning taking advantage of the cool before the sun makes any form of exercise unbearable.
Thanks to the clue i located the cache quickly once i reached the GZ.
Thanks.

I really liked this one!
Having dropped eldest nearby for a music lesson, what better way to occupy the time than a quick cache.
Got a few odd looks from the crowd partying inside the castle, but quickly got the info then headed along the pleasant wander to GZ.
Checked a few likely spots then the nicely hidden cache was in hand.
Nice to return to this great park.

Stopped into the beautiful castle and began answering the questions before coming up with some coordinates. After arriving at what I thought was gz, I found a spot that matched the hint so I began my search around the cave. Despite my efforts, the cache didn’t turn up and I ran out of time on this one...
A lovely piece of history, a pleasant walk and a good size container. What’s not to like?

Found this fun multi after a visit to the nearby adventure playground with geoboy.
Geoboy enjoyed helping to collect the required info and after a quick calculation we had some likely looking final coords. Off for a stroll, admiring the views and wildflowers along the way to GZ where the first pass of the area left us empty handed. A quick double check of the coords and a second search of the same area revealed the well hidden cache. Signed the log, swapped some swag and dropped a TB. All in good order here.
Thanks for a great multi geodudeau, learnt something new about castles today, a fav point from us.

Got all the info just ran out of time (read: kids were over it) to collect the actual cache. Will be back.
Where have all the hounds gone? Saw this published early this morning but I had things to do. As it seemed to be still unfound, we arranged to meet in the carpark, and quickly collected the data. Calcs made and off to GZ. I always enjoy visiting Oatley Park, and a nice stroll to GZ revealed an empty log book! So it's [FTF] with EverestHigh at 11:15. We are the winners and the Kings of the Castle. And I learnt two new words today. Have a FP. TFTC

Today we explored the features then took a nice walk towards GZ
I overlooked the cache twice but PDG didn’t miss it !
Have a FP for an interesting multi in a lovely location
