With a MEGA in the pipeline, a group of us Marlborough cachers set about solving the Airplane, Albatross and other challenge caches in the area. This is one that wasn't on the list. After travelling down the day before the day before yesterday, a 12 hour drive from Renwick, this was my fourth full day here after completing the Airplane and Albatross the days previously.Thankfully a couple of sunny dry days to be out and about prior to this but sadly the rain had set in now.The day after the MEGA, and before popping back down to the event, I went the other way to find a few. Not found here. I did find a hint object and item but no cache.
On a roadie with kiscardi getting some caches for a challenge. I wanted to get this cache earlier this year but a sea lion prevent me. Thanks
On a roadie with Hal2929 today. We are both trying to complete a challenge requiring 100 caches from 100 different cache owners. Not so easy when you live in an area with only a dozen or so goecaching people placing caches. So Hal2929 found a good number of caches that neither of us had previously picked on earlier trips north. Thanks Thomasgcache for placing and maintaining this cache so we could come and find today. Great day out in reasonable weather. We saw lots of amazing views and picked up lots of different CO's caches.
We were a little put off by the number of DNF's on this one, but decided to have a look anyway. It didn't take long- it is there- and we just managed to sign and re-hide before a dog walker came down the track. Thanks for this one Thomas.
Couldn't see the brick by the fence. A few doggy landmines to look out for though... helpful neighbour!
Not today. Searched a good few possible spots but no luck. Wasn't sure if it was on private property or not and didn't want to go looking around too far from the road for that reason. Coordinates too imprecise, I think.
Co ords not great and look under every brick ( hopefully ) and found nothing but spiders
This is a nice and dry cache, thank you. I found it 24m from the posted coordinates but as the description told me where to look, it was a relatively quick find. TFTC, nicely placed in its hidey hole.
Our penultimate cache collect for a days exploring on this beautiful Peninsula. No wind today so a good day. TFTC
Cache 1028 had decided that while I was on holiday a trip to Dunedin was in order to fill in some missing spots on my “hidden dates” grid, I asked Wombats_4 if she was up for a roadie and she was more than happy to come with cache coordinates Were way out but luckily another caches had added correct coordinates in their log making this a quick easy find. T4TC
Yep, hint helped as coordinates are well out. Bag has holes in it, as pencil fell out. Logbook dry

Like others I had noticed the co'ods were 25mt out, these could have been corrected easily on the GC site and a handy parking WP added as so many whiners would continue to complain about your first cache. Obviously no one local has offered to reach out. We had the big wagon today and while we didn't like turning around in someones driveway, I think they would definitely notice if we were to park over their gateway with the CCTV warning so managed to find a spot long enough by the fence on the grass berm before the walkdown began. Spotted the hint in the new plantings and drew the dry cache outta hide. Not everyone likes bagged caches but this was keeping it clean and dry from the sandy situation. Some swag got swapped, my No.1 luvs Scoobie, wruff! and returned the cache to hide with some clinker cover. Surely a bigger cache might get used sometime? We just might try the track to the trig if it's available to the public one day. *RTP 325pt, Nov Kilimanjaro Summit [S](https://www.geocaching.com/souvenir/?guid=f5c275f0-6839-4d06-abd0-19d9d41d4062)ouvenir nailed, 230pt leftover*. Like other cachers, co-ords were a bit out for me, but used the hint which took me a possible place, but it turned out to be a red herring. Started heading back to my car, looking for other hint items along the way: saw something similar and decided to check it out. And there it was! TFTC.
On a three week trip to the lower South Island with tmann421 hunting caches.
Enjoyed the trip around and the challenge of the finds.

*Another good cache found on a nice day going from cache to cache with woolwood9.*
We soon had the container located after reading other logs which pointed out the problem with the way off co-ords. SL: **tm/ww NZ**
Thanks for putting this cache out for us to visit
Co-ords are around 25 meters out which is too far.
Most other loggers have pointed out co-ord error of between 20 -30 meters.
Needs to have the coordinates updated to where the cache actually is.

A good find for this targetted cache. Read a previous log to get closer to GZ, then an easy find tftc
A fun day out caching with nana (wombats_4) The coords were out but looked at a previous log for help. Easy find then tftc
Arrived at GZ and felt a little conspicuous as we were in full view of the nearby house but thankfully the find was made quickly and afterwards we watched a bee keeper checking a nearby give. Found with Spoonz2
Thanks coordinates are out but easy find with hint. Congratulations on first cache placed.
Coordinates were about 30m out for me but the excellent description and hint assisted in pinning the location. cache all good TFTC
Thanks for placing this cache here. We had started up the track as I still had 30 meters to go, but decided to go back when it started climbing again. Both 1sophie1 and Mr p&vee saw it at the same time while I was watching a seal walk past.
Found on 12/12/2019.
Found easily but the coords seemed to be off for me today.

Found this pretty fast... thanks for the cache.. now I have to turn round and walk up the hill. Thanks
Out for a bike ride this morning, down Karetai Track on a very hot day. When we were getting the bikes around the gate I remembered that logs had come through yesterday for the Rambler's Reward saying that Kerynz and the Frame Family had found "Entrance to the Karetai Track". That must be around here so why not have a look for it while we're here? No GPS with us of course, but out with the phone... oh bother, no phone signal, we'll have to come back some other time. Don't worry says Mr D, looking smug, it's right there in plain sight! And so it was, huh. Nice clean and dry double container. Left a pen. Added some camouflage and a rock so it's a bit better concealed. Now on to the climb out of Smaills Beach and the climb out of Tomahawk...
Some changes are needed - here's help links that will explain how to do them:
7.2. Edit a cache page after publication: [https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=201](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=38&pgid=201)
As the T2 rating shows, this cache isn't wheelchair accessible without assistance. The cache page should be edited to remove the "wheelchair" attribute. [https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=106&pgid=71](https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=106&pgid=71)
The ground would be too rough to get beside the cache and a person in a wheelchair wouldn't be able to reach the cache. An unassisted wheelchair user without a grabber can only reach caches between 20 cm and 1.4 m above the ground. [https://www.researchgate.net/publication/321099019_Geocaching_for_the_wheelchair_users_a_pilot_study_in_Luhacovske_Zalesi_Czech_Republic](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/321099019_Geocaching_for_the_wheelchair_users_a_pilot_study_in_Luhacovske_Zalesi_Czech_Republic)
7.7. Update geocache coordinates:

Many finders have said that the coordinates are 20-25 m out. Looking on the satellite map, this cache is shown in the middle of the lawn of the house beside the road! WEKA have given some better coordinates in their log. The link above tells you how to change the coordinates.

A stunning Saturday morning out with Frame Family and the newest four-legged member of our team, Nala. Co-Ords were a bit off for us (about 25m). Tftc
Out for a lovely walk with Kerynz and the newest member of our geocaching team! She was so excited to smell all the new smells on her first geocaching adventure, so the walk was a bit stop/start but still enjoyable! My phone had no service so had to rely on Kerynz’s. The coordinates were out on this one but the hint helped. TFTC.
Despite the highly inaccurate coordinates, the hint plus some logic made this a quick find. Our coordinates were S45 54.284 E170 33.951. TFTC
Lovely little hide, didnt go up the track today but would have been a great day for it!
Nearly gave up as looked to be on private property. Checked logs and confirm 22m error.
7 day challenge brought me out to this cache and this was a nice and easy find with KJR. TFTC
Another newish one which meant I was one day closer to completing the 7 day streak. A bit of an evening drive with Gadget169 and even though coordinates were a wee way off, with the hint the cache was soon located TFTC
I knew there was a new one up this way and after a dismal weekend we decided to take the dog for a walk. My phone died so I wasn't sure where to find it but I thought I would check how well my geo-senses were working... and as it turned out it wasn't bad! First place I looked. Great cache on a lovely track. Well done Thomasgcache on your first placement.
I've just recently converted all the little green circles in this area to yellow smiles and this popped up within 10 days of doing so. Today I was heading out in the car for a placement and decide to do a bit of a detour to grab this and another a little further away. A nice quick find on a cool day.
Well done on your first cache. I know the entrance to the track so parked down at the fishing club and walked up. If you drove up to the cache you would really attract attention. Co-ords were 22m out for me but the hints are so good (well done!) that I spotted the hiding place on my first walk past. There was a man cutting grass (!) in full view of the hide so I went and spoke to him and explained what I was doing because I would have looked really suspicious otherwise. He seemed a nice guy and interested. Don't think he will be a risk to the cache. Fortunately a parked car shielded the hide from the house opposite. A good outing on a bitterly cold morning with heavy snow threatening. TFTC. Looking forward to more of your hides.
More traffic and people up here than anticipated. Just grabbed the cache in between a young boy running into a nearby house and a car pulling up behind me. Continued on for a walk up the hill. Had already cancelled the weekend plans due to the bad weather forecast, but it’s turned out to be a glorious day. Thanks for the excuse to come back here.
