Shame we couldnt find this one. Was the birds nest hiding it? Did we not look hard enough? Beautiful grounds though and nice and quiet this evening!
It's December, and to help me achieve one of my Geocaching goals I need to log 300+ caches this month, which means an average of ten a day. Today I am making my way south from Oakura in the Taranaki to home in Wellington. I spent a good part of the morning in and around Hawera finding a number of the caches that were available.No problem finding the cache here, all good.---Thanks to Rick-a-mortis for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge
7.40am. In Hawera for a day so time to find a cache or two. Easy one here but no log so I added a page from my note book.Thank you. David.
Found where it should be but log book was gone and the thing was on the ground . Very cool spot tho

Having just scored a find on the replaced cache at the Waihi Cemetery we planned to score some McDonalds – Mr Geckoh was hanging out for a coffee and Mrs Geckoh wanted a frozen coke. Cache was quickly found, thankfully as the Po Po pulled up opposite us so we were keen to get on our way. TFTC

️ Parking ️ was wonderful. It made finding this cache really enjoyable. I thought there might be some trees here so we could park in the shade and have lunch here. No such luck but a nice hide anyway.
A night in Hawera, early morning find after some very heavy rain. Thanks Rick-a-mortis for the cache.
Extra stealth going on..Nice day sun beaming..Found today noticed another cacher was here yesterday...
Log very wet. Not sure how this could happen. Thanks for the water proof paper
Thank you
A new years drive with the opportunity to grab caches as we go. Circled the clubhouse and found it TFTC
Had to get the boys out do a road trip we headed in - what better way then to log a few caches in the way - tftc
With team bop Philip.Perry McJandals and Nzflossy back in June going back through and logging the caches I forgot to log back then thanks for bringing us to this part of New Zealand really enjoyed our weekend away.

#12,443. A park, walk and grab in Hāwera. Fortunately, GZ itself was relatively quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find, even though it was about 11 metres away. The cache was in good condition. The waterproof log book was doing its job well. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

A plan was hatched recently to hit the Naki area this long weekend. Nice to get away and grab a lot of our solved puzzles and ALs plus others along the way. Signed logs Team BoP to save room on log sheets.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

On tour with part of Team BOP having lots fun and laughs. We targeted one trail and lots of cool different caches. Thanks to all the COs for the work that goes into making and maintaining. Looking forward to the next visit as well TFTC Just one more
Team BOP is back on the road this time heading to Taranaki with our sights set on some Labs, some geo-art & everything else in between
Our current incarnation includes Davidson Clan, NZFlossy, McJandals and myself and we’ve signed the cache logs as ‘Team BOP’ to save time and log space. We’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey as most caches have been found quickly & without fuss thanks to accurate coords and a straight forward placements.
I appreciate there’s a stigma attached to cut’n’paste logs like these so I’ll try to provide cache specific notes retrospectively when I get home. We do genuinely respect the work put into these caches, particularly some of the puzzles, but with a numbers mission like this - the hides start to blur together unfortunately. So Cheers COs, TFTC and most importantly - thanks for bringing us here

#9546. I am travelling north to Taranaki to pick up some of the TMGT geotour caches in this region. I am having a 4 day weekend so there is plenty of time to drive here and take in the scenery and find some geocaches. Spent the first night in Hawera and this morning I was picking up the local Adventure Labs. I then headed out to the old pa site after breakfast to get the TMGT cache. Heading back into town now and stopped here to find this cache. Parked so the neighbours outside talking could not see what I was doing. Luckily it was a quick find thanks to the hint. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks Rick-a-mortis for hiding the cache here.
A nice and easy find at GZ. Made even easier by the fact there were no muggles around.
TFTC Rick-a-mortis!

Making our way through Hawera to grab some caches in the outskirts. This was a quick find, signed log and left as found.
Thanks for the placement Rick-a-mortis.

Thanks for putting out this cache for woolwood9 and I to find!
SL **tm/ww NZ** (may just be a black smudge on the many wet or plastic logs)
We soon had another good cache located.
*No problem, quick stop!*

Had the day off work so headed off for some caching from Whanganui to Hawera. actually stopped here to have a picnic and pleased to report that I did score. Thanks
We are on a ten day road trip to Taranaki, The Forgotten Highway, Taumaranui, Ohakune and back home to Palmy. Along the way will be sightseeing, short mountain walks, museum visits, a rail cart journey and, of course, geocaching. On Day 2 now we gradually made our way to Stratford.
Heading out of Hawera we stopped for this quick find which was exactly as we had expected except the container was empty - no log sheet. So we have supplied a new one, on waterproof paper. TFTC

As dusk was approaching I was looking for finds that were relatively close to park and grabs and found this one in an area I had not visited before. A quick and easy find was made and returned safe and sound. TFTC
Quick stop here, let the car running and headed to GZ to make the find with the rest of the family staying in the car. TFTC
Teamed up with Cats&Dragons, for an overnight mission down the West Coast focusing in and around Hawera. It's been awhile since we've done a trip like this and it was great to be out finding caches again. We left Hamilton at 7pm Friday night and returned midnight Saturday, with only a few hours of sleep needed we managed 116 finds for the trip. A big thanks to all the cache owners for their placements.
A couple of games going on here today, but still managed the find without drawing to much attention to ourselves. Thanks for the hide.

I had stopped with the intention of looking for this cache but didn't bother when I saw many muggles about. I drove past again about half an hour later and saw the place was deserted. My GPSr wasn't needed as I identified the hiding place from quite a distance away.
A quick easy find with haydn.seek's alternative coordinates of S39 34.545 E174 16.685. TFTC
Was at the wrong white box for a bit! Geo coordinates def off about 50 feet. Needed the hint.
(# 5706). A flying visit to Taranaki primarily to get the TMGT geotour caches. Day 2 was to drive from New Plymouth to Hawera then back on home directly. A quick find. Everything in order. TFTC
Stopped and visited during our Xmas roadtrip around the area. No problem locating this one TFTC. Merry Christmas and safe travels to all cachers
Got this one tagged with the help of the hint here. Cheers.
Day 4- Tuesday 17 December. Hawera district today.
Running around the Hawera district today in Toby, while Zara rests up. Checked Manawapou viaduct and Nowells Lakes.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are spending Christmas exploring Taranaki via geocaching. Its been an amazing 3 week adventure. Rattls BBQ was a great event, meeting many other cachers. But also managed to fit in a few more events, especially New Years Day celebrating the start of 2020. Lots of caches - over 500. Lots of cache maintenance. Lots and lots of kilometers. And lots of amazing places visited along our journey. Mt Taranaki remained elusive for much of our travels and the caches on it at the top. Loved Pukekura Park Night Lights Show and the the Wooden Mechanical toy exhibition at NP Info centre.

Cache GZ seems to be 10 metres out. But the hints works (as the stoney patch sure didn't.
Day four of Taybeedragon's and my big 3 week circumnavicaching trip around Mt Taranaki, starting from Palmerston North. Today is Hawera - it's going to be a slow trip!!
Highlights:
* 3 weeks, 536 caches
* Mt Taranaki had been removed for washing, which was a bit of a shame. Even after it had been returned we were only allowed to see it for it was less than half an hour a day.
* High percentage of caches with crappy coordinates
* Amazing Pukekura Park
* AMAZING Pukekura Park light show!
* Pukeiti Gardens
* Lots of cache maintenance!

Planning for the [NZ Mega 2020](http://nzmega.com) event is well underway. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 23 to 26 October 2020. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
* 20 years of geocaching worldwide.
* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](https://coord.info/GC87777) - you won't want to miss it!

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... This weekend’s mission was about completing the North Island leg of the TMGT. It involved a fairly extensive road trip through the Wellington, Manawatu/Whanganui, and Taranaki regions. We also made a plan to pick up other caches along our driving route...
There were a few vehicles parked nearby, but not a soul in sight. A quick find. Thanks Rick-a-mortis and TFTC.

Out and about on a caching mission to collect some geotour caches for the Wanganui/Taranaki region, and of course some other caches we couldn't go past since we were in the area anyway!
It was nice and quiet at GZ today - probably would have been mayhem a few hours earlier being a Saturday.
Cache was soon in hand.
Thanks for setting it up Rick-a-mortis

Not too hard at night with no muggles, I'm sure on a busy morning it would be more of a challenge.
Up here for an awesome weekend jaunt with Team Gators, TheWanglers and Karma Reprint to do a loop of the mountain in 48 hours grabbing as many caches as we could while having a good laugh. Logs signed as some derivative of (KT)^2
Cheers Rick-a-mortis for the cache

A planned geocaching trip to the USA was shelved (but is all go for this time next year!) so we came up with a weekends Plan B. Taranaki with TheWanglers, KarmaReprint and KiwiMoose - logs signed (TK)^2 or a variation of. A really fun trip with the forecast rain and thunder seemingly always in the distance but never hindering us. A really fun weekend.
Arrived in New Plymouth; grabbed the rental and hit the road running - aiming for Hawera....
Hawera finally arrived at...accommodation checked into & tea finally eaten. A bit of light drizzle - but keen bean use figure there is still a bit of time for a few more find and signs.
Quick find and sign at night - cheers.

Day one, New Plymouth airport to Hawera.
A long weekend cache raid to Taranaki. The weather didn't stop us doing anything, and we had fun times. Logs were signed with a combination of KT and 2 depending one which of did the signing. Thanks Kiwi Moose, Team Gaters and TheWanglers for a choice time.

A plan was hatched for a few of us to head to America for a Mad Mission. With life getting a bit crazy a downsized trip was organised as I had sorted childcare for the cachelets. The big America trip is now set for next year. We asked a member of our crew if we could go to Nelson, Dunedin, Auckland, Wellington, Hastings the answer all came back "I don't have many to find there". We left it to that member to suggest an area. He came up with New Plymouth and a loop around the mountain. That's a go from the rest of us. We sorted puzzles, gpxs, motels and a car and hit the ground running. The forecast was doom, gloom, rain, hail and lightning. Oh well, sounds exciting. We had very little of any of the weather that affected our caching and found we had all overpacked (thank God!).
Day 1: We grabbed the car and started caching at 2pm and made it to Hawera after 8pm settled into our accommodation and had a bit to eat and hit the town before calling it quits for the day.
Spotted from the car!!
Thanks for the cache Rick-a-mortis.

I took the new co ords.. S39 34.545 E174 16.685.

Cache is missing so have changed the spot . Please re read disciption if you have not found this 1
searching here yesterday to no avail but then search abandoned as muggles starting coming out of building to cars. so maybe next week..
Oops! Forgot to log this a few days ago, after an afternoon down Hawera way. Excellent spot for a cache - and a new part of gown for me. Nice hint, too. TFTC
We had planned to come to Hawera a few weeks ago just for the day to attend a special geocaching event we left home at 6am, yes another nice quick find here today cache was all good thank you for placing a cache here and bringing us to another area for us to explore no muggles here today. TFTC
Went and searched this one was awesome find had to be very discreet loads of muggles about but managed to grab it jump in my car signed it and places back un noticed
Yesterday Juty Bug & I popped down to claim a FTF (or 3). Today the rest of 'the Team', feeling left out, made the trip again and I tagged along to get my one daily cache. After visiting yesterday's three Smileys we rocked up to here for an easy find thank you. Signed log then on to Queen Elizabeth park but that was a futile exercise unfortunately. Well fortunate for me as I only wanted one today. TFTC Day 96 of consecutive daily geocache finds. Also a dot day so "thanks" again
As a young boy I lived close by when it was mainly paddocks and no sportsgrounds or many houses around. A huge change indeed. Found the container quickly with the hint. Waiting for a woman walking five dogs straining on their leashes as she tried to get them from the car and on to the fields proved entertaining. Tftc Rick-a-mortis.
Found with the help of a light and a few muggles around but still easy to do just missed by 15mins for ftf
I was at the computer working on an email when ding ding 2 new caches in MY area so think think quick down load the two to a list and then onto the GPS all with in two minutes. I called out to the cook keep my dinner warm I am going out after two geocaches and out I went getting a torch on the way then plan A head for the closest which paid off. I thought I saw it was close to the end of Fantham st so pulled up there and dived through the hedge looking for something that what make the hint make sense but 133 M away so off I went in the general direction and as I got closer the hint made sense and nobody about so a quick look and nothing obvious so down into my praying position and bingo there it was
I was shaking like a leaf now and fumbled opening the container then the bag and yes a clean logbook
[FTF] 1745 hours a FP for this thanks
