Great cache this one.
Was not sure of the access route immediately, but soon figured it out. Then I took a while to open it, as I didn’t want to force anything and what I thought was a hinge, in the end was not.
TFTC Taysema. I get the play on words here (I think) so have a fave point. Sorry for the late log.
Day 5 of our Northland road trip, and today is Whangārei to Paihia, the more scenic way via what is called the ‘secret coast route’.
A few caches on our travels today, but to be honest, we just drove past most of them. Handpicked a few to keep the numbers rolling.
Made pretty good time through there, then took a mainly metalled road as the more direct route to Kawakawa. Checked out the sights there - including a train rolling down the Main Street! (Ok, that probably isn’t a big deal), then off to our digs in Paihia. We will be here for quite a while and have a few trips planned.
Thanks all COs for maintaining the caches.

Great little find, drove past on our way to get a few on the Whangamumu Track, but the tide was in so decided to grab on the way back when we were able to go without getting our feet wet.
Took some CRC with us after reading previous posts of the cache being rusted, but didnt really need it as it was easy to open once you worked out how the door worked.
Great cache construction. TFTC

We went past on the way there due to the tide, so collected on the way home instead. What a fantastic cache and it took us a few mins to work out how it opens however once opened managed to sign the log and replace. Thanks for bringing us here. TFGC
Found it but the hinge is rusted and I was unable to open the box without breaking it. Need some maintenance I think.
With time rapidly running out in the month to achieve the Mt Elbrus souvenir and no chance of the planned trip to Auckland for the now postponed Mega, an alternative plan was hatched to round up the few remaining unfound ones on the back road route to Russell.
After a little side detour down to Bland Bay, it was back on the road north and a stop off at this one. After the half hour spent chasing red herrings, I was hoping for a quicker result here and thank goodness it was. Quite a bit of water in the cache, but otherwise quite a neat hide here. TFTC

TFTC... after a stunning day spent in Rawhiti with our beautiful whanau for Geodad's eldest granddaughter and daughter in law's birthdays... we were heading back towards home and thankfully muggle Mum didnt mind if we stopped for a couple of caches on the way.
Thanks to the great hints we were able to find this easily after a little adventure climbing over and ducking under.
Cache was in fantastic shape and very nicely constructed. Such a beautiful bay here and look forward to stopping in another time.

Brought a new cacher to visit this cache, we were impressed by its construction and the effort put in to make it!
Thanks for making our game fun!

Yet again I'm filling in my dot days. I was at Russell Playcentre this morning so I popped out to grab this one afterwards.
We've had a lot of rain lately so I was wondering how the road was out this way and if the cache floated. No problem with either. The tide was fairly well in today but it wasn't a worry as I had my aqua shoes. It was a quick find and sign. Neat work on the hide, thanks

Anchored in opunga cove and decided to kayak around to get this one. Lovely calm morning. Spotted a couple of kingfish swimming in the bay. Have dropped off a trackable. Now heading to Jack's bay. Thanks for the cache.
Great cache container. It’s always nice to see that someone has gone to a bit of effort to place an interesting cache. Lovely peaceful spot, too. TFTC
Dude I found your cache. It took a while to get the station open, thought it was stuck. Found the tricky opening system and the cache was soon in hand. TFTC

Stopped for map check and saw a cache nearby. Nice one once I worked out the opening trick.
Over in Russell having a yummy lunch at the Duke today with friends. Decided we needed to have a wee roadie around a few of the beautiful bays. So just had to do a little cache or 3 thx. The tide was out but beautiful warm sunshine. Enjoyed a wee stroll and nice quick easy find and sign thx.
Nice cache!! Out on a drive with kids and decided to grab this while out here. Tftc.
