Called in on our way to Mt Gambier. The lake is extremely low. There has been some work done at GZ trimming tree branches and maintaining the fence. In the process, the cache has gone. We think the cache had a good life, but we won't replace it, so someone else can make use of the area if they wish.
Did a long search without finding cache but was having trouble with GPS, it might be worth a check by the owner.

Not much to Dive In(to) at the moment (except pine needles). Late in the afternoon it was a muggle free zone, and so an easy find.
Thanks, Robmc.

We've been past here hundreds of times but never stopped, thanks maccamob for the reason to explore. The water's very low, but the pine trees smell fantastic, a pretty spot.

We are still sans GPS Unit, so our trips are to find ones that seem easy to find, but alas, this one escaped us. GeoTodd has a good time, as she toddled around the GZ.

Returned to this site for another look. This time I had the cache in hand about 10 seconds after getting to GZ.
I think that since my last visit I have learned how to use the GPS and got better at what to look for.

I had just returned mud coated and unsuccessful from the nearby 'island' cache and needed to redeem myself. Before long pine needles were sticking to the mud and I began to resemble a giant echidna. Cache found soon enough and I made use of the nearby (receding)reservoir to clean up. First of 17 finds on my trip west today.
Had a good search around where I think GZ should be, but could not find this one. There were some cut pine branches dropped nearby, perhaps they have been dropped on top of the cache.
Fourth of Twenty Two finds on the BBBBB (Bacchus Marsh, Ballan, Ballarat, Beaufort Bash) in company with Daks Emu Mob. Finally made it to this location after driving past on the highway several times. I was glad it was not summer as I have seen heaps of Muggles at this spot, today the place was deserted and the cache was soon in hand. Thanks Maccamob.

Found this today at about 1:20pm while driving home from Ballarat. Despite the sunny 30C degree there was nobody at the nearby picnic area. However there were plenty enjoying water sports on the water near GCJKBQ nearby..

A short walk from Rain Gauge and here we were at about 6:30pm. A really nice autumn afternoon to be out and about after a fruit run down to Bacchus Marsh. Well hidden but an easy find none the less. We looked through the cache and signed the log at a conveniently nearby picnic table. T: shell & Kiwifruit spoon, L: Stick on glow patch & glue stick. Thanks Maccamob.

Dear Maccamob,
I logged your cache today at 5:45pm as the twentyeighth cache of thirty four on our Ballarat and Beyond Cache Bash with Dak and Embi. Yet another cache that both the others had already found on previous visits. Dak had described this one as a particularly hard find on his visit and when it turned up in absolutely the first place I checked, it made up nicely for the second of two gaffs I had made earlier in the day. Thanks for the cache. I have certainly accumulated a fine collection of 2002 caches this week
Kind Regards,

My first Cache! Took a couple of visits as waether was to hot yesterday and I was still working out the GPS machine. Found it this morning alright though. Being close to home made it a good starting one.
Not quite sure if we took the right road into this one. After a short walk we found the GZ though. GPSr was playing up a bit, so it took us quite a while to find the cache. Its hidden rather well.
Certainly an area I'd like to come back and explore a little more.
Took: Star wars pen + glue stick.

teamed with one half of 2dudes for our introduction to geocaching to find this one
Jase found this one on the way to the Motorbike Exhibition with the Geo-parents. It was a very windy day, so we were glad to get back to the car and cross yet another one of the list. Dean, Troy & I had previously attempted this cache on another geocaching trip without any luck......Turns out we had the right tree, just didnt look hard enough. We have replaced the log book with a brand new one as the old one was extremly full.

Have tried this one before with not luck. Primarilly because of the man watching me from his camper. No one around today so everything was fine.
We had word that dak was in the vicinity again today, so asked him to check on the cache for us - it is still there, safe and sound.
Our GPS has been spot on lately, so we think we had the right tree, looked for a while in the obvious (and not so obvious) but couldn't find it.
We went on to get the other 2 caches nearby.
We will keep an eye on this one and try again on our way to do some of the Melbourne ones in the next couple of weeks

Was out getting wood today up around Blackwood and of course you cant leave home without doing a cache. Is that right? I had about 5 printed off but this was the only one we had time to do.(Typical of my story on Tangled Web although I wasnt with my wife today) An easy find, no muggle trouble and no swaps cos I wasn't in my car where all the caching do-dads are. I dont reckon muggles would ever be a serious problem here after some of those city caches I've done, and tried to do lately.
Anyway thanks again Maccamob. Enjoyed it as always, and my reluctant mate has now had a taste of this game.

While returning from a great weekend of caching in Adelaide we stopped off for this cache before the final leg to home. With a gale blowing, rain and pitch black darkness we decided the timing was right and headed for the GZ.
After a brief search the cache was found and logged before you could say “snowâ€.
Many thanks Maccamob for the cache in a place I must stop off at in daylight.

Second of the Pykes Creek Reservoir 'threefer' (although I only logged two of them), and last of ten finds for the day. I might have known that there would be a maccamob cache here, with the Werribee River so close by. I've never been here before, and I didn't know how to gain access. I drove past the reservoir, and in the process of doing a U-turn, I fluked it for the right entry road. [^] There were so many places that seemed to fit the cache description, but the cache soon gave up the fight at 1520. I managed to avoid a needle-stick injury. Thanks to maccamob for the cache.

At last we made the time to stop by this wonderful spot to explore and do some caching. The water level has recovered quite considerably since this time last year, when we thought that it was going to completely dry up. Found at 5.00pm after a brief search. Thanks maccamob for bringing us here. Took: Mirror, Left: Golf ball.
I found this on a trip to Melbourne to catch up with the folks and do some business. Shift work does have the benefit of time off during business hours.

Dragon's Pearl and I found this without any problems. We also dropped off Kiwilamb from Canberra. It's closer to an International Airport so it can get to NZ. Thanks for the cache maccamob.
Visiting friends and just couldn't resist. A short drive and found it quite quickly with the help of Nina. It was a bit exposed as cover had probably been reduced by some gusty winds so we made sure it was well covered when we returned the container to its spot. Took a marker pen and a superball. Left a yellow plastic shell, a hairclip and a laminax sample card. As we left, we weren't sure if another cacher was coming in but probably just picknickers.
Found it @ approx. 16:40
Doh. Didn't realize that this one was on hold. I was driving past and saw this one on the GPS, and thought, might as well have a look. Might not be a multi, or virtual, muggled, whatever!!!!
Found without any trouble. I can confirm that the cache is fine. Water levels are way down at the moment. Levels are that low, all boating activities are suspended due to the danger. So no chance of it being effected by the recent freak storm.
Took Parachute Man
Left Super Ball x2
Thanks Maccamob

Located this one at 3:10pm. The only people within range of the cache were a retired couple settled in for tea and scones in the afternoon sun with their 2 very alert little yappy guard terriers. Strategy time. The diversion strategy called for Raskal2 to divert attention with Raskal3 whilst the cache was retrieved. Success - TNSL and left a Xmas brooch (for 05 of course!) and a Tigger figurine. Off to guage the rain now.....
Thanks maccamob.
Thanks maccamob.
Walked from rain gauge to this one, Even after all the recent rain we were suprised how low the water is.
After having visited nearby winery, I stopped here with Essi and Antti. Nice place. Surprisingly no onlookers in spite of Summer weekend. Took sleeve badge, left reindeer.
We found this cache after first visiting another nearby one. Not too prickly, and all was high and dry. Took an angel, left a keychain clip. Thanks for the break on our drive from the Grampians back to Melbourne!
Cheers

Just had to stop and try another cache before I made it to Melbourne. Did the exit ramp and headed back into this one. Where is all the water? up north we don't have anything that looks like this. An intersting spot and we disturbed a bunny in our final search. Left a badge and took some bubbles.

This was the first of eleven caches for the day done in partnership with the captain of 4 Men and a Lady.
Found gz easily but had to wait for ranger muggle to leave area. Reservoir still low on water.
I surprised my partner for the day when I gave him a sports drink in the car park. He took a swig and said “gee-wizz is this alcoholicâ€Â.Sure is! Our team is not called WINE TIMERS for nothing. Had a couple more swigs and headed onward.
Took – candle shell

This might be quite busy on hot days but on a dreary, wet and miserable Melbourne Cup day, it makes for quite an easy find.
I walked right up to it and did the log at 18:30 in the car so as to stay dry (not to mention warm). TNLN although silvester, ICE Beetle and Chaos Kids TBs had a look in.

Just checking in on behalf of Maccamob as they're overseas... All is still good with this one!!!
The location was very obvious to the trained caching eye in this case, easy find. Had no caching stuff with me so TNLN.
Out with Uncle Gary, Linda as well as little G today we approached the location using age old information dredged up from our deepest darkest memories about the layout of this location. I haven't been here since I was a nipper.
Uncle Gary and Linda took off with the GPS leaving G and I to struggle behind. A few minutes later a Linda found her first ever cache.
We took a dog and some stickers.
We left a Finger Freak and a Possum.
Thanks for bringing me back to a place I haven't been in years.

Found at 9:30am. This was an easy one to spot as some of the covering pine needles had blown off, I don't mind and easy find. I see the recent rains have not been enough to fill the nearby water reserve, but what's there is better than dry dust. No swimming today. My swap was a wooden like comb (out) for a pack of colouring pencils (in).
On the way to the 'Mission Possible' event in Ballarat, Quasar and Skyfox stopped off at this cache on the way. A fairly easy find, Skyfox found it in a few minutes, just as it started to rain. Left a shell candle.
Wrote wrong log for this one so have amended it.
I see what you mean about the pine needles. Did a bit of search and finally found the cache at
1720. Left 2 packs for stickers and took an emergency blanket.
On the way back to the car slipped and my knee ended up covered in mud .
My 7th Maccamob and 8th cache for the day.

After a fruitless 1/2 hour search wher we did find an empty container, the ELTHAM Mob (dcr) decided this one may have been raided (?) Will need to have some one who is familiar with the site check the photos to see if we found the remnants.
... oh well, still on a good strike rate
The lake is looking extremely dry, as Dr Suess would say *a rather depressingly dry depression*.

One last cache on the road home after a long day's caching - pitch black by this stage of the evening! Grabbed the torch and headed off, thankfully we found it fairly quickly. Took a water pistol and left a whistle. Decided against attempting a dive - I was never much good in the water anyway, and the pool looks almost empty ... I might hit my head!! Thanks Maccamob.
Found on the way home from Ballarat, a nice rest from the concentration required when driving down the freeway in the pouring rain. Took sticky toy and left water pistol from 'kong meng'. thanks maccamob.

Found at 3pm - the first cache for the long weekend. With maccamob driving, it was pretty much a given we would get the closest parking spot! My GPS led me to a likely area, and although it tried to take me elsewhere at the last moment, I spotted the cache container quickly. Took a packet of tissues and left an emergency blanket. Thanks maccamob!

We thought this was a beautiful body of water and with it being a warm day there was quite a lot of people around. We found the cache without too much trouble and left ornamental wooden comb and took card. Thanks maccamob.
Found by Ray and Maya (The Nomads) at 6:40PM, our last for the day. When we left Devilish we decided that was to be the last for the day, but as we drove home with OziExplorer running on the laptop, we saw Dive In approaching on our path, so we decided for one more. Lucky we did, I don't think this one would be to easy in the height of the holiday season. There was no one around in this instance, so we had it very easy. We swapped the Audio tape from Grave Mistake for the Chocolate Frogs. Thanks Maccamob, from Ray and Maya.
Wonderful spot, but would imagine it would be very busy in summer. After briefly being distracted by a bird with a flourecent red chest, the hunt continued fruitlessly, until the GPS was reset, and success followed.
