*27 Apr 2024, Found @7:30PM, Find # 3829.*I never really enjoyed maths at school. Today though its taught so differently and in a way that students are able to understand the concepts. I looked at this puzzle a number of times trying different approaches. A bit of a hint was needed to get me on the right track then bingo. Thanks atsmug for challenging me with this puzzle.**Thanks to atsmug for placing this cache.**
When I was at school I was quite good at Maths but this problem stumped me for quite a few years. A hint from a friend gave me a start and then the required numbers fell into place.Today I made the trip to this lovely little location, a place that I visited often during our COVID Stay At Home (or within 5km of home) and after a short search I found the cache.Thank you atsmug for this puzzle and cache.
I’ll never understand why this puzzle was so hard to solve. I had the right idea early on, but whatever I did with that right idea hadn’t produced the right numbers. After a year or two in the unsolved pile, the approach to this came up at the first SirOz Memorial Puzzle night. When applied, sure enough this time the numbers fell out nicely.
Today was the day to collect - we were out here for basketball. Happily the coords were good - it was in the place I looked. Thanks atsmug for both puzzle and hide.

Found by Mary and David at 17:45. An interesting puzzle! Found on our way home from the "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl - Kangaroo Ground" Event. Picked the wrong spot first, but a PAF set us straight. Gets a FP from us. Our thanks to atsmug.

Cheers for the cache

Out and about with My good caching mate Omegaman1971, there are always plenty of laughs while we are turning caches into smiles.
Had this solved for some time, was good to finally turn it into a smile.
Thanks atsmug for the cache.

Mark of LaidlayM&M kindly agreed to chauffeur me around the suburbs to assist in my challenge to find 20 in each LGA.
So far I’ve found a trad, multi, Virtual, Earthcache, and now this Mystery cache.
I’m not very clever at maths, but am okay with simple addition, such as adding another smiley face to my map.
Thanks for this addition

We came up to Research to borrow a ladder from LaidlayM&M, who live just around the corner from GZ. The puzzle was solved quite a while ago, but I hadn’t had time on recent visits to find this. Requiring an “Unknown “ cache to help fill a gap on this date, I felt today was the time to have a go at finding it. We had places to go, cars headlights to replace, so time was short. Luckily it was found in a surprisingly open and public place after a search which should have been shorter. Thanks for the fun!
I had so much trouble with this cache right from the beginning, first i had trouble with the
maths, so had to ask CO for a hint, that helped I knew what to do, I haven't been to school for
a long time, so now i was on the right track.
Next problem finding the cache, this place is a real mugglesville, and trying to find by stealth
was not easy for us, people asking if we are alright, so we would give it away.
In the end I once again asked CO for a hint, which was given, so to day boxing day myself and
Geo-wife came here once again, this is the only time i have seen this shopping strip empty,
we had the place to our selves, and soon found the cache, I thought i checked here but here
it was. It felt so good to sign this log.

This is one that seemed to make sense but it wasn't until GT37 went to her puzzle solving class that the answer become evident. Easy when you know how. Thanks for placing this for us to find.
If it hadn't have been for my puzzle lessons, I doubt that I would have ever worked this out. Thanks to all involved and thank you for the puzzle and cache.
Had my numbers sorted and was nearby so I stopped to see what I could see. No joy so I checked the clue. Gee I left my paperwork at home so PAF to work out where to look. (I was looking suspicious here.)
Soon had what I wanted and headed off. As always a sneaky hide.
Now back at home I realised that there was a multi I should have checked out. Looks like another trip back here.
Thanks for the fun atsmug

Mr Riddell used his brain, a pen and a piece of paper and bingo… good results.
We ended up in the neighbourhood so it’s pick up day.
Nice hide and quickly found.

This puzzle had me flummoxed for a long time. Eventually a chum gave me a hint and I had some coordinates very quickly. At the final GZ it was hard to search for the cache as there were a lot of people milling around but I would not be denied. I waited patiently until I say my chance to grab, sign and replace.
After a failed attempt yesterday in the heat I awoke to find a mild and overcast day. While I don’t often wish for ordinary weather, it does make for more pleasant caching sometimes. I decided to make another attempt and clean up some of what I started yesterday. Before I left however I had this puzzle to complete.
I thought I had finished this some time ago but with no corrected coordinates or notes I must have only come up with theories. I completed the maths and couldn’t get the checker to agree. Oops and error on my part.
With the coords at hand it was a quick find at GZ and fortunately I was able to discreetly sign the log while muggles hurried by oblivious, worrying about their Christmas lists and chores.
Thanks atsmug for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

After a long day tackling the CSS series, apparently our day was not quite over. With beckNmonts & Crustyvarmint, we headed over to collect this solved puzzle.
What a busy area, but it didn’t stop Beck locating the little sucker. Really nice hide atsmug.
Maths & I don’t have a good relationship, in fact we don’t get along at all. When Beck asked me to work on this puzzle with her, I panicked. I tried my best, but she was way too quick for me and had it solved in no time.
Thanks atsmug for a great puzzle and brilliant hide.

Travelling home with becknMonts and Knight_shift, after doing another series of caches, becknMonts suggested we stop here and sign the log. Her radar/cache eyes were working exceptionally well today, and she soon had the cache in hand.
I have delayed logging the find for a couple of days, until I had solved the puzzle. Another clever puzzle, and hide, atsmug. Thanks for your work.

After a day out caching the CSS series, we headed out to get a few more puzzles in the area. This is one I’ve been wanting to sign for a long time! Thanks for placing the cache atsmug, and for the puzzle, a favourite point
In the area doing maintenance on our own caches and the weather improved enough to find some caches too. GMelb and quiet1_au had solved this puzzle together some time ago.
We started looking around at GZ and had a suspicion where it would be but we couldn’t find it so we PAF’d. Our PAF confirmed our suspicions, we just hadn’t located it… a better look and we had the cache in hand.

Out with xambo4u on a day of caching. A tricky puzzle until you know how, and then it is easy. (Needed a poke in the right direction to solve it.) Wow, what a hide - a little like the puzzle - easy when you know !!! A favourite point. Thanks atsmug.

Ah, it was so nice to be out of lockdown partly and be able to go more than 15km from home. So Fleabag and our 2 smallest geokids headed over this way for a couple of hours entertainment and cache finding along with a bakery stop-off of course. Found everything we looked for with a long search at one place but at no DNF's today which made it even better.
With a small hint from a puzzle solving session I took another look at this one and got a answer that the checker liked. Nice quick find at GZ today.
Thanks atsmug for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

Out and about with echidna44. Solved the puzzle with some help from friend. They seem to easy when put on the right track. Really busy little shopping space and tricky to not look like your up to no good. Glad there was two of today. Excellent puzzle and hide. I will give it fav. Thank for another excellent cache atsmug
Out for a walk to collect a few local caches in the fresh and cool air.
A bonuses here as this was a previously solved cache en route. Sneaky hide.
Thanks to atsmug for the placement and fun.

150 metres from home, our closest cache. We owned and ran the Research Post Office until February 2020 so it was even closer to us then. Our handover day was February 29th 2020 so when finished we went and got our first cache. I worked it out (with advice) a few weeks back but have been saving if for the Vinson Peak challenge. Onwards and Upwards. TFTC
I have had this one on my solved list for quite sometime but due to unforeseen circumstances I was not able to retrieve the log until today. So while I waited for my coffee order at the new cafe I was able to retrieve, sign and return the cache to its hiding spot. Thanks atsmug for the puzzle, cache placement and for the couple of hints needed to turn this one into a smiley .
Found with icw, the maths genius who solved this puzzle. My sole claim to fame is that on first reading description and clue I knew where GZ would be. However, my initial cursory search didn't find the cache. I returned once icw had the geochecker's tick and found the container in the only place I hadn't looked. Tftc.
Found with Ninja Tortoise, great puzzle once you get the gist. Living in the area helps one to be patient to avoid the dreaded muggles!
It’s always a great feeling to solve an atsmug puzzle. Even better when the first thing you try works and you get a green tick. Can’t believe this was placed almost a year ago and we’re the 3rd to find! Incredible hiding spot in a high muggle area. TFTC

I solved this puzzle a few days after it was released and visited gz but with the number muggles around on a Friday night I couldn't find an opportunity to search.
No such trouble this morning and I quickly had the container in hand.
Thanks atsmug for the cache. A fav for the clever puzzle.

YAY! Another atsmug puzzle. I do like this CO's puzzles. We have a very similar way of thinking.
I thought this was going to be simple. However, as I stared at these digits, nothing was coming to mind. I added up this and that, tried a number of conversions, but one method came up with something which made me think I was on the right track.
I followed that path and, without having a "37 42" and a "145 10" I added numerous red crosses to the checker.
Checking my calculations many times, I sat and stared at my workings, double checking this and that.
That is when it hit me. Surely not! A quick try of the checker and bingo! I reckon I made record time to gz, to find a usually muggle heavy area quite deserted. Only one man who was paying too much attention to his phone.
Thanks for another clever puzzle, atsmug! A favourite point from me.
