Time to get another LGA and explore Gascoyne Junction. It's a very neat town, rebuilt after the floods. Some of the history has been retained, and that is where we spent some time looking for the cache. We got a tad distracted and searched in all the wrong places, then as we stood around feeling disappointed, we spied the damm thing, phew!!!! It's always a good feeling. Cache in good order. Tftc

Found at 3:16 PM GAFF3.Left our Murchison camp along the river this morning heading to Gascoyne Junction and thought we had enough fuel to make it. After travelling 298 kms towing a 3.5 tonne van observing fantastic scenery with wildflowers; red boulders and cliffs, we made it with the car computer saying we had 30 kms worth of fuel left in the tank. See c-pprass - told you we could do it RazzWent over to the museum and I thought I made it look as though I was really interested in the construction method of the ancient machinery Red Face However - there was no "micro" to be seen. So started to look elsewhere and after checking way out there, came back and from a different approach angle spotted the "other" sized cache which ended up being about 9 metres from GZ.This town looks so new and modern! Has it just been re-built?Thanks to Team OutnaboutFeedback: This sort of a cache container is usually rated as an "other"

WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 93 - Carnarvon Day 1. Day trip to Gascoyne Junction and beyond. My last county beckons and I hit the road early for a day trip. I found the cache I was looking for in Gascoyne Junction and headed a bit further north to The Kennedy Ranges National Park for a small hike up onto the plateau for two more. With time sill available I headed south to a random roadside cache before getting back on the blacktop for the run back to Carnarvon. In the late afternoon I stopped at the Rock hole on the Gascoyne river and then went back to the van to cook dinner. Tomorrow is a day around town and a chance to meet some more east coast cachers. After getting a snack from the servo / pub, I ventured across to the visitors centre to have a look for this cache. Plenty of spots some thing could be hidden, so I worked along the items and was a bit worried until I looked over in a different direction and as the hint says, it was there ready to be seen. Log signed and now off to the Kennedy Ranges for a hike. Thanks for the cache Team Outnabout48674.2 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Geocaching NSW 2022 A#531**Albida**

I had to search about a few areas, then it was easily spotted when in the right place. Both my caches found it was off to explore a few others. Cool to see big red roos and have a dingo run off from us, but by the car for a bit. In town caches found it was south for another then onto Temple Gorge for a few more, wow, what a stunning place!

I knew what I was probably searching for, and indeed I was correct....but it still took a while to find----------Decided to do a long road trip, flying in from Canberra, starting and finishing the drive in Port Hedland. It was a long day of flights, followed by 7 days of lots of kilometres. I stopped at every 'point of interest' along the way, I wanted to miss nothing! Earthcaches, Virtuals & AL's are always very good waypoints for interesting things as well.Every night I downloaded a bunch of podcasts and these made the kilometres fall away. This was the first outback road trip I have done where I saw more emu's than kangaroos. The wild camels walking in the desert were also very cool to see. My trusty swag served me very well.

31-May-23
We are having a little bit of time off from helping our friends in Nanson we decided to head north to try and collect a few more LGA's and Lab caches and anything else that pops up on screen.

This cache is in one of the four remaining LGA's that we need in Western australia so we were looking forward to finding a cache here.
We really enjoyed the area around gz and we are a little bit shamed to say that it took us quite a few minutes to locate the container but we can say we had a good look at some of the artifacts here before the find.
Once we added our name to the log and returned everything as it was we continued to have a look around this very interesting location before they shut the doors.

Many thanks for bringing us here, a favourite point from us.

Did not find this 1. Looking at the other comments, it seems it was too hard for newbies like us.

Catching up on some late logs, now that I have time, while travelling.

We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA. I was happy to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them.

Found this while in the area. Took a bit as the GPS was jumping about but then spotted something out of place. Introduce Shirl the curl to her first hide.

Thanks for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

We had a look round the exhibits here with ilook4geo before looking for this cache. After tearing our attention away from the other interesting bits and pieces the cache was quickly spotted and really stood out from its surroundings. Log was signed and all was put back into place. Thank you to Team Outnabout for bring us to this little feature in Gascoyne Junction.

Had an idea this one was going to be tough. Had the advantage of a Saturday arvo so didn’t feel like we had eyes watching (although I believe nearby staff are aware of this cache). After testing out a few possible hiding locations, we expanded our field a little and soon noticed something familiar. May have missed it if we hadn’t seen something similar elsewhere. Signed and returned as found. The town is certainly very different to when we were here many years before (pre-flood). Happy to be able to tick off a cache in a LGA we had not found one before. Played with the skeleton first, checked out the museum and then into the geocache. Tough!! I was about to give up when Shire lady came out and asked if we were geocaching.

Yep!! Then she showed us the cache. It’s a ripper and I reckon it would have been a DNF without her help.

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving from Carnarvon to Gascoyne Junction.

On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.

Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.

Thanks to 'Team Outnabout' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'The Junction - A Tough Life' and the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.

Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest.
