Found at 1:33 PM GAFF3.This place would have been a hive of activity in its hey day - but now it is a tourist mecca and even on a sunny winter's day there were muggles all over the place! Thanks to Team Outnabout
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 94 - Carnarvon Day 2. After a huge day yesterday, I was hoping for a relaxed day today. I started off with a visit to the Carnarvon Space museum. It is very impressive, they have lots of stuff, but not all of it is explianed. The mock up moon lander is very impressive and the outside dishes are huge. I ten headed into town to have lunch with dghoffy, another east coast cacher catch up. The afternoon then became a time to do the second set o labs and the rest of the traditional caches around town. I again met up with dghoffy and we did a few caches together. I had been thinking of an evening outing, but I was not up to it and had dinner in the van and an early night. Tomorrow is the drive to Coral Bay. I had a look for this the day before, and went back today as there were more Labs here to do. I again searched where I was looking yesterday with no luck. I even had a chat to a farmer who explained how the tractor was used, and not just for moving things. I then realised I was in the wrong spot and found the cache almost immediately. Oh well, better late than never. Thanks for the cache Team Outnabout48692.3 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Lackey AKPrincesswarrior A#497**Albida**
Came lateish after spending most of the day at the Quobba blowholes and Aquarium. Mr S made short work of this one, TFTC.
Found after visiting all the museum spaces. Paying attention to the hint helped zone in on the cache. TFTC
It would be 25 Years since we visited Carnarvon and it nice to be back. A lot has changed. Nice to have Lunch at the cafe at the old jetty. TFTC
I walked along the whole Jetty back in 1990 when I was 10, I remember we saw a turtle in the water at the end. Sad it was destroyed by Cyclone Serjoa.
Out to find a couple of caches in the area. Met with the volunteers of the museum. Lots of wonderful history to discover. Museum reopened in June this year.
It was a quick find this evening here. What a lovely view and boy this would of been a pain to work back in the day. Tftc
Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.Doing a bit of sightseeing around town. This one had us stumped for a bit. But finally got it.Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC
On our travels we found in Carnarvon and took the opportunity to grab a few caches. This was a nice quick find for geo hubby as I had walked past it twice, thanks for placing this cache
Carnarvon is a really nice town expecially around the coastal areas, lots of museums and points of interest too. Quite peaceful and scenic. Great to explore a bit this morning with the AL's and some caches before heading back to Hitch up and get back on the road again.
Found with e.gregory1 on a trip from Adelaide to north-western Western Australia for four or five weeks. Camped out along Milinya-Exmouth Road before heading southward to spend most of the day around Carnarvon and on to our next campsite somewhere near Overlander Roadhouse, finding a few caches along the way. Thanks for the cache Team Outnabout!
Found on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. Last night we camped south of Coral Bay and this morning we continued traveling south towards Carnarvon and beyond. The cache was a quick find and was in good condition. Thanks Team Outnabout for the cache.
Searched for quite a while and then gave up. Glad for the adventure lab out here.
A shame the jetty is closed. The museum and lighthouse keepers cottage were also closed. Oh well got some gelato, a photo of the jetty and a smiley. Tftc
We headed out to the historic present to have a look around. Visited the three museums and was interesting talking to the volunteer at the lighthouse keepers house. The cache was a nice quick find. Thanks for placing it here for us to find
Back on holidays chasing the sun, travelling around and collecting a few caches on our way. Found your cache easily and it was in good condition. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of holiday.
Tftc. I remember walking this jetty as a young person! Alas no longer. Enjoyed seeing the mother mudlark sitting in her nest!
Found it with the help of the hint. The nearby signboard is worth a read. Very interesting.
Struggled to find this until I read the hint.. then a quick find although a friendly gecko jumped onto the cache of a ride which gave me a fright. Tftc
Canarvon
Arrived into town this morning & have set up at one of the many caravan parks.
After lunch, we visited the information centre then started an doing a few caches close by.
We wandered out along the jetty making our way to GZ, just a short search & we saw a tell tale sign of a cache.
This is an amazing area to explore, we found a variety of cahes.
Thankyou to the CO's for hiding this cache

We are having a little bit of time off from helping our friends in Nanson we decided to head north to try and collect a few more LGA's and Lab caches and anything else that pops up on screen.
Our last visit to this area we called in to do a trad by the same name. Things have changed quite a bit since then and the jetty appears a lot worse for wear. The infrastructure around the jetty seems to have had a lof of improvemnt.
We started heading to gz and our hearts sunk a little as we are very hit and miss on hides on this type of thing but today we got lucky and the cache was located after a fairly short search and the log book now contains our name.
Many thanks once more for the cache.

Yesss…extraordinary site! The trip is making me think about re-imagining Australian history! In Carnarvon for a few days with plenty of time to explore. Have travelled WEST from home base 4200 km away and that includes altitude as well so enjoying the landscape and habitat changes of this BIG country. TFTC and the lure to visit.
A quick find with a familiar name in the logbook
Brad and Janet are on another epic journey.
This time it involves many of Len Beadell’s 6500km of roads including the Anne Beadell, the Connie Sur, the Heather, the Neale, the Gun Barrel Highway, the Gary, the Talawana Track, the Gary Junction Rd and more.
And of course a 2 day visit to Maralinga which Len also located, surveyed and largely built as he had with Woomera and Emu. An amazing man.
If you don’t know of him he wrote some wonderful books. Laconic with a dry sense of wit, they are an excellent read. They are also available as audiobooks as is a recording of his brilliant after dinner talk one evening in Shepparton. Worth a listen.
And now the Moon Tours trip is over we are heading back to Adelaide via whichever way takes our fancy after a few days rest and repair in Karratha.

One last cache for the day. When approaching GZ I already thought, that this could get a longer search. Fortunately I was wrong and with the second grab the box was mine and we got another Smiley.

On our way to visit Exmouth for the eclipse. A brief stop in here to take in the sights as well as top up on food and fuel.
Pity the jetty isn't restored to walk on it, but totally understand why its not going to be. Interesting read of the history in the area. TFTC

Heading north for one mintue of moon shadow. This is one of stops on a long journey.

Found on an early morning walk after failing last night due to leaving my phone in the hotel - I knew roughly where but didn't have the hint. It was still dark when I got there but soon located it, tftc.
Found with thanks. I put the 15th as apparently don't know the date. Signed as Flea. Thanks
I'm winding my way up to Exmouth for the eclipse Last night I camped at Goodies just north of Gero, and today it's an overnight camp in Carnarvon. I've picked up a few caches to break up the drive, and I have a trio here in Carnarvon to grab before a pub rendezvous for dinner with friends making their own way up from Perth. Very interesting area, little did I know I'd back again tomorrow for some Ad Lab stages! No-one else here today though so was able to have a good look around the host before making the find. No problems here today - TFTC
Quick park and grab. Logs abit second hand but it's there and has plenty of space! Tftc
Gosh that was tricky! Stick your hand in the hole. Be careful of the rust.
First cache in Carnarvon after the drive from Geraldton. Visited the Jetty, we spend 5 Dollar for rebuilt And hope, the Jetty well repair️ TFTC and greetings from Switzerland
Nice hide. Up in canarvon for a stop over and decided to find some treasures both caches and scenery!!!
We were glad to find the cache, we hope that the jetty will be reconstructed some day
I looked there once but was blind. Then just before I was giving up had a last look and there it was. Tftc!
Seems the hint was too cryptic for me. Searched for around 15 minutes but just could not find the treasure.
Was not sure about wandering around searching for this cache as I was barefoot, but no prickles so found OK.
Caravanning, Caching and hunting Wild Flowers on our trip to W.A. Staying here to get our fridge fixed. This took a lot
longer than it should have. The phone came in handy. T.F.T.C

We were on a driving/camping holiday up to Exmouth with a few stops on the way and than camping our way back to Perth. Stopping for some caches along the way.Found some lovely and learned some interesting things that we wouldn't have stopped to look at if it wasn't for caching.A great time was had, even though one day our campsite was flooded and we had to move to a new site, many animals crossed our paths including a snake in Exmouth, overall it was a great adventure.TFTC
Catching up on some late logs, now that I have time, while travelling. We are on the road travelling up through central Australian and down the coast of WA. I was happy to grab a few caches along the way and this was one of them.Out for a drive, expoloring the area. Interest history out this way. Made a quick find at GZ.Thanks for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.
On my way to Perth via Broome with a few detours for LGAs. TFTC.
