Woo hoo!!! Finally made it to my first ever QOGM, was so sad to have missed the earlier ones, but this one was great! Loved the musters and the creative activities. Sadly its now time to head back home. Taking a bit of a roundabout way to pick up a couple of extra counties; Barcoo, Quilpie and Bulloo that we missed on previous travels. So glad that we have made the trip it has been such an incredible adventure, full of amazing scenery and incredible wildlife! Great to be out travelling the countryside again with GLISS! Signed as G! 32,670 Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 9. Well the trip was well and truly underway. I have never been to a QOGM before, and since this was the last one I decided to head up there for the fun. Having basically cleaned out the Charleville region we are now heading to Quilpie for a few days. A new County for me Today we headed up to Adavale and Lake Dartmouth. This was the next find of the day. A quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, usually as F65 A33, replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey.Thanks KerryL62 !!

QOGM 2023 Longreach Day 8. Quilpie Day 1. Driving from Charleville to Quilpie via Cooladdi. Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 are on our trip in early spring to Longreach. With no caching left to do in Charleville, we packed up and started west. With plenty of stops along the way, but the best was at Cooladdi where had a good look around and a late breakfast. On to Quilpie, where despite the rodeo and show being in town we were able to get a site at he caravan park. The afternoon was spent visiting the various caches around town, and even doing a bit of maintenance where required and possible.

This was the second cache we replaced after spending some time talking to other roaming cachers just down the road. It is not metal anymore, but should be apparent to a cacher's eyes. I hope this lasts another few seasons.

Firstly I will appologise for the boiler plate log. This does not take away from all the effort that the QOGM placement team and other geocachers have taken to ensure that we have a fantastic QOGM.

This log covers from around the 20th September to the final day of QOGM the 2nd of October, 2022. We attended many events and found untold nuimbers of caches that included puzzles, multi's, Whereigo's and AL's. We made new friends and caught up with old friends, both locals and geocachers. The meals that we had at two of the events where out of this world, such that we cannot give them a star rating as we do not have enough stars. At the final event their was so many prizes, we feel that you whould have been very unlucky to leave this event without something. This year we were not able to team up with our usual cohorts and were invited to join another group who were fun, enthursatic and well organised. It was very different for us to not be the driver. We look forward to hopefully attending next years QOGM in Longreach. SL TFTC

Started the new lab
Then started on the ones in town.
Got it eventually ... lots of spots to look.

A great but long day had out in the countryside driving to Cooladdi and then onto Quilpie, a place I had never been to before. Our group of three signed all logs as Team SIP (Snickersallan, Imbunda & patrol14)

Teamed up again with Snickersallan and Imbunda for a drive to Cooladdi for the event and decided to head further west.
Now we have arrived in Quilpie we stopped to grab this cache.

Day 1 of QOGM caching.
After an early start at Cunnamulla, we headed to Cooladdi via the Cunnamulla QOGM challenge trail. After the event, we then headed out to Quipie and Windorah for a look around.

Day 3 of my outback travels and the continuation of my Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster for 2022. As a continuation from last year’s event and a very successful team collaboration of Willis007, Jacs Team, Triple turmoil and myself; we continued with the team again for this year. We have worked hard in getting to a point where we can just jump in a car, go, and have fun for the day. There are lots of laughs and repetitive jokes seems to be the call for each day.

Today was a drive to Cooladdi for an event and then a drive to Windorah via Quilpie. Yep a 12 hour day of driving, collecting some LGA’s and a few caches along the way. We left the event and set off on our mission. Ticked off a few personal goals along the way; a couple of extra LGA’s, another couple of earth caches and a few extra caches in the haul. With time pushing we just made it back in time for the last dinner bell at the pub.

Thanks for the caches and the travels out here today.

After catching up with a few familiar faces we continued our roundabout adventure with an overnight in Quilpie. Thankyou for placing this here for us.

Caching Charleville in a convoy to Cooladdi for the local event for QOGM 2022 and slipped across to Quilpie to visit some muggle friends and take them out caching.

A good quick find here without the use of my GPS. I have found they are pretty useless in this kind of situation. Use the eyes for a probable hiding spot instead. TFTC TNLN SL

We finally made it to Quilpie and headed straight to the Bulloo River camp - unhitched and then headed off to explore the town.
First cache was this one and we thought that we were going to be there for ages going through the rocks - but after 19 years of caching we spotted where the cache was going to be due to a nice pile of rocks and found it in that very spot straight away [^]
We then noticed some hens clucking in the nearby bushes - are these wild chickens?

Travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.

Still lot's of chickens and roosters wandering around. Took a little to locate but got there in the end.

Quilpie is where I spent the first couple of years of my life (I'm now 63) before moving to Charleville then Brisbane.

Found while traveling on my 'Quest to the Cape' trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia on Cape York Peninsula. The plan was to tour along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, out to Noccundra and through Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns, then out to Weipa and up to the top. I ended up staying at Quilpie overnight in a free camping area at the eastern end of town. Thanks for the cache KerryL62 and Quilpie Information Centre!

In Quilpie for a couple of days before heading further west. At GZ we hunted around for a while - there were lots of potential hiding spots! Eventually a likely spot was spotted and the cache was found - thanks.

But if you walk and don’t swim it’s about a km
Worst of all it was a strait forward find so without resting I returned
God knows I needed the exercise

I has my mind set on the cache being hidden in a particular place. I was wrong. I trusted the gps and looked elsewhere and found this cute little container waiting for me to sign the log. Quilpie has a lovely big sign at the start of town.

Fooled us last time but today was a pretty quick find not sure why we didn't find it last time. All smilies now for us in Quilpie, tftc

Out Quilpie for work and decided it was time for some site seeing and why not some caching as well while out in this gorgeous part of the world. So day trip it was. loving the variety of caches out here.

Day 5 of of a Queensland road trip with EatSleepCacheRepeat and JACS Team - Big day of driving today - Charleville to Cunnamulla via Quilpie and Targmomindah. Just collecting any cache that got in our way.

Day is getting rather warm, so good quick find. TFTC!

This cache was on the list for us to collect while passing through on Day 5 of our geotrip to outback QLD. I love taking photos of town signs, and this one is a beauty! TFTC

Luckily a quick find in what could be a difficult place. It’s starting to warm up now so back to the car and onwards we roam.
