Travelling through Blackall with goingplaces2 and located a few caches. This wa a quick find. TFTC.
Just passing through Blackall today with ilook4geo, so we only wanted to do a few quick caches and go on further for the night. We had a few solved puzzles on hand so decided to look for those. Each was an easy find and each had two more names added to the log. Thanks for the cache placement go to RoddyC.
Have been planning a trip around central Queensland for a few months and noticed quite a few puzzle caches here in Blackall. Managed to solve a few before arriving here. Had no trouble finding any of them. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache
Last day in Blackall visiting family today before we drive south. Had a quick drive around town to collect a handful of caches I had solved but hadn't bothered to go and sign yet. Tftc
A puzzle that I solved before my Longreach trip.I started on Blackall's southern puzzles and challenges series at 12:50 hr, and it took me a little over one hour before I finished at [Grey Nomad Challenge](https://coord.info/GC8DZQ9) at 14:00 hr. I subsequently stopped at this geocache, and after a short search, the cache was found reasonably quickly. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks [RoddyC](https://coord.info/PRC80AY) for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------This 1.5 week trip, the purpose was the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster (QOGM) in Longreach, with its aim to encourage tourism and support in rural towns. Departing from Brisbane on Friday 15/09/2023, I travelled solo taking the northern route through Gayndah, Emerald and Jericho on my way to the event, and then returned through Blackall, Morven, St George, Goondiwindi, and Toowoomba arriving back on Monday 25/09/2023.My Longreach highlights included the two QOGM muster/rally days visiting Muttaburra and Isisford; the Qantas Founders Museum; Stockmans Hall of Fame; Silver Tails Rail Sunset Tour; and the general historical town vibe. Other highlights to/from Longreach included climbing Mt Scoria; Barcaldine's Tree of Knowledge and kayaking in the water park; Blackall woolshed scour; and the smaller intriguing and historical towns that I passed through.During my travel days when I was time-poor, I targeted geocaches that were older in age, high D-T, puzzles/challenges, and rare cache types. In addition, I added 7-8 visited LGAs to my statistics. The scenery was memorable with picturesque sunsets, and a diversity of flora and fauna. There were plenty of kangaroos and wallabies, emus, goannas/lizards, brolgas, hawks, and alas wild hogs, and goats.Today, with Longreach QOGM finishing up, it was time to commence my two-day drive home. After making an early departure from Longreach following the [QOGM 2023 CITO](https://coord.info/GCAAHTW) event, I passed through Barcaldine, Blackall, Tambo, Augathella, and then finished up in Morven where the [Morven Major Munch](https://coord.info/GCAE0HW) dinner event was held. I made sure to see the historical sights like the woolshed scour, murals and drilling setup in Blackall, before playing through the Wherigos and finding puzzles and challenge trail. I extended my day after sunset, and completed the Murweh Triangle (MT) geoart puzzles from Augathella to Morven. It was a fairly full day in warm conditions, but the geocaches placed from previous QOGMs were enjoyable, and it was good to add Blackalls LGA to my statistics.Adventure Labs completed: [The History of Tambo](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/0c74ee1c-bb7e-46cc-b899-55918a0094d4); and [Augathella Art](https://labs.geocaching.com/goto/a28da373-e575-4d0c-b1f2-14a832b17597).
Day 17. A last minute plan had been hatched to make my by way to QOGM. Very little planning had been done but a very rough outline was in place and it was going to be a day by day trip.A wonderful stop in Augathella overnight and today we are on the home stretch with Longreach our final destination! We made it to the end eventually and signed the log. Thanks RoddyC for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.----------------------------------------------------------Are you planning a trip to Victoria? Check out some of these caches on the nominees list for the 2022 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards. The shortlist is available [here](https://coord.info/BMC8QYR)
DAY 12The last leg of our journey to Longreach to join in the QOGM festivities after traveling 12 days zig zagging our way through NSW and visiting family on the coast. Teamed up with RoamingHowie at Coffs then made our way to Bourke and up into Queensland, caching and camping all the way. With only a few more towns to visit we should make it to our final destination late this afternoon.Up and over to find the small cache of this solved puzzle. Thanks RoddyC for the Mystery placement.
We are on the way to QOGM number five.

After lunch is was off to get the challenge caches and then onto a few solved puzzles ending the day with the Barcoo Night Cache. What a day. 32,922. Found during our Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure - a 33 day epic tour of Northern NSW and Outback Queensland finding many caches, attending great events and catching up with awesome Cachers along the way.Queensland Outback GeoMuster (QOGM) 2023 Longreach Adventure Day 14. Well the trip was well and truly underway. I have never been to a QOGM before, and since this was the last one I decided to head up there for the fun. We have a couple of days in Blackall with an aim of cleaning out as many caches as possible along the way. Today we headed south again cleaning out more caches. This was the next find of the day. A quick find once at GZ. Signed the log, usually as F65 A33, replaced the cache as found, then we continued on our journey. Thanks to all the COs for putting out these caches !!
Accompany with DeafVW, DeafCat, and DeafPhantom. I am appreciative of them because they are young and have more energy and good equipment as I didn't bring Ladder with me.
Handy one of them can climb, so I just stood and watched.
Thank you for organising the cache and hunt.

Tftc RoddyC, we missed this puzzle series last time we were in Blackall
Now we have the time to collect the smilies for our puzzling efforts.
Now we have the time to collect the smilies for our puzzling efforts.
We are now on our way to Longreach for the QOBM event next month. As we missed the big event here, it was now time to grab some of the caches around the area. Another big day today, doing some of the trails around the area. Today was a more relaxed day, picking up a few with Woolaston just around Blackall.Stopped off here and made a quick find. Thanks RoddyC for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.
On the hunting trail with Happy Feet while on a slow roundabout route to QOGM 2023 at Longreach. Currently based in Blackall to continue clearing the local map. A quick find here. It’s a great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

A wet day in Blackall today, so we wanted to remain close to town instead of getting bogged. A number of local puzzles we haven't solved, so we thought we'd do the Jetset Mob (failed due to phone issues), WhereIGo and puzzles we have solved.
Finally solved this one this morning when I finally realised I had an app that would give me the right coords.

QOCM this year (my second) had a very slow start. With the first couple of days I was a little under the weather & mostly house bound; I was appreciative of the group to battle on without this key member .
The weather has been perfect & the cache hides great as usual… some more great than others. I don’t recall any DNF’s but then again, who wants to!
The gadget caches were fabulous, the challenge caches challenging and will remain so for a while yet as I try to qualify. Therefore, a bit of work to undertake.
Once finally in the field I signed as either Muggle 65 or MB&C2 on muster days. Thanks to the QOCM team for putting on another great event.

After a bit of a snooze we all hit the road again. Doubt we will find a coffee cart out here another fun session albeit pre breakfast
Puzzle sorted, and after driving in on the drying muddy road to sign the challenges in this area (none of which we qualify for…yet), we stopped here to collect this puzzle Hide.

Travelling homeward bound to Busselton from the Townsville Mega, how lost can we get?
It’s been 2 months since the CacheQld mega and we are still in Queensland, that’s still a long way to go to get home to WA
But the fun bit is, finding all these geocaches along the way.
No matter where we park our caravan for the night, it’s always an exciting day to see this great country through the eyes of the local geocachers.
Thanks to all the COs for showing us your favourite spots along the way.

Like all geocachers, I’m taking the scenic, slow route to Townsville. Along the way we detoured for, amongst many others, this geocache.
Another fun puzzle that ahomburg couldn’t find.
Thanks for placing the cache RoddyC, without hiders the game wouldn’t exist.

Not sure if these weren't here last visit or if we maybe didn't have them solved. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.
Happy to be able to visit here again and collect some more smileys. Not sure if these weren't solved or if they weren't here but happy to have another smiley. Thank you for the cache.
We are zig zagging our way north with micaparamedic, Papi4506 & Geoturtle37 and after camping at Windorah after having a very expensive one drink at the pub we were heading off this morning towards Blackall letting geocaching be our guide.
Lockdown's in Melbourne were a pain in the proverbial while we were stuck at home but it did give us a chance to work on some puzzles and we were hoping that the borders would be open for the Easter Mega we started working on Queensland ones after we had finished Victoria.
This one had us going for a little while and then the penny dropped and it all began to fall into place. Today we were hoping to finish off by finding the physical cache.
We pulled up near gz and after a short walk in the relatively long grass we had the container in hand and we all added our name to the log.
Thanks RoddyC for the cache.

Swearah had this puzzle solved in preparation for our trip and we’re so stoked to finally be out here to collect.
At GZ, I was giggling as Swearah was attempting to get up the bank, twice….she’s so coordinated
The container here was looking a bit rough so we replaced it with a new one with a fresh log. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache RoddyC!

Jagged this puzzle midway through our puzzle solving adventures. Now krcamber and I are in town for a few days and finding them - yay!
An easy find at GZ but the container and log had seen better days so we replaced with new log and ziplock in a small sistema.

Found while traveling on my 'Quest to the Cape' trip from Adelaide to the northern tip of Australia on Cape York Peninsula. The plan was to tour along the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, out to Noccundra and through Quilpie, Blackall, Barcaldine, Hughendon and Ravenshoe to Cairns, then out to Weipa and up to the top. Based myself at the Barcoo River Camping Area at Blackall for two nights, heading out each day to do a circuit of caches in the area. Thanks for the puzzle and cache RoddyC!
These puzzles have been solved for a while. Now that we are in Blackall we won’t be leaving until we have looked for them all.
The rain stopped yesterday, but we had to wait until the sun came out this morning before we could drive the vehicle out from the riverside camp without ripping up the ground. Unfortunately a number of others didn’t have either the time or patience to wait with the result the entrance to the camping area is all rutted, ripped up mud. After 2 days only able to walk out we were glad to be able to get out and find more of the caches around the area. Thanks to all the COs that have put them out, we’ve had fun exploring the area, finding all the things the locals know about and seeing the sites. We appreciate your efforts, and the efforts of the locals who hav3 welcomed us and helped us while the mud kept us captive!

Day Five of our caching adventure in Blackall. Today we attempted some caches in and south of town.
Thanks for placing this cache here. Over the years, Geocaching has taken us on many adventures and to lots of wonderful destinations all over Australia. Without 'caching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wanderings. 'Caching has also introduced us to a diverse group of like-minded people, many of whom we now call friends.
**Coordinate Accuracy:** We found your cache around 3m from where the GPS said we should be looking.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
Thanks for the hunt today,
Regards
Ian & Penny

Blackall Trip Day 1. Spending a few days in the area caching and sightseeing. Quick find to sign log having previously solved. Thanks.
Great cache. Thanks for arranging and interesting placement. Our thanks to RoddyC for placing this cache and enhancing our enjoyment of the area.
Day eight of my outback Queensland trip and hopefully I will get Blackall completed and be in Barcaldine by the night. Wow there is so much to do in and around this town and some really fun caches. Again I will have no problems in continuing my challenges of a trad a day and a cache a day.
Meet up with Willis007 for an early start, as there is a good deal to get completed today. Plus it was nice to have company on the drive around today. The plan was to do the loose caches , the Evora road trail, wool scour trail, Ravensbourne road trail and anything else as we pass. with most of the hard work already done it was a matter of signing logs today.
All good with this cache and with the log signed and cache returned as found, it was onto the next one. Thank you for placing it here, I really enjoyed the drive around this area today.

Thanks for the cache RoddyC and QOGM 2019.

Day 6 of my travels north from Adelaide in search of some warmer weather and a few caches. After travelling up the Strzelecki Track to Innamincka, I made my way to Blackall via Quilpie and Adavale and stayed for a couple of nights.
I had previously been to Blackall in May 2018 and found most of the caches in the area. But since then a whole lot of new ones have been published - enough to make a return visit worthwhile, particularly given that I really enjoyed travelling around the region last time I was here.
Today I headed out with a view to finding a selection of caches of interest. They included around 24 Traditionals, 20 Mystery caches (including a night cache), 9 Letterbox hybrids, a Wherigo and an Earthcache. Only one of those ended up being a DNF.
Prior to leaving Adelaide (in fact over the past year or more), I put quite a bit of time into solving the puzzles up this way in anticipation of my next trip to the region.
Thanks RoddyC for the puzzle and the cache.

Queensland Outback Geomuster 2019 trip to Blackall. Day 5. The second full day of organized activities took me, along with Smittengranny, Nana Nel and Wazza to Isisford. We took a detour along the way and had a great day from breakfast to dinner with a mayoral meeting in the middle. Another hot day on the road. Before we headed off to Isisford I visited a few caches just outside of Blackall.
Thanks.

Day 8 on our road trip to QOGM 2019 at Blackall and today we make our way from Alpha to Blackall. We had a great day making our way around the area and enjoying the fairly quiet roads along the way. After arriving in Blackall we were soon out searching. Thanks so much to the COs for placing the caches here for our enjoyment.
Having met up with JooJoo57, Richmond Lad and Selva Girls, we headed out to find caches in and around the Blackall area. Sorry these are generic logs but with so many to do from this trip I only made rough notes against some of the finds. Just enjoying being here for QOGM 2019. Signed logbook with JKRS
Out here , staying at Blackall for the QOGM 2019 Event. So many caches and so many to find. Thank you to all CO's for the placement of these caches and bringing us to places we would probably just drive past. Found the cache, signed the log and returned it to where it was found.

Found by Mary and David at 14:10. Luckily the engineer knew about this one. Spotted an old pair of hand shears in the tree above. Wonder if they were left here by Jackie Howe himself? Our thanks to RoddyC.
TFTC,
After a sort of bad start with some of the puzzles, I made contact with Everlasting and Nana nel to continue working as a team. We managed to solve all the published puzzle caches before leaving home and have continued with the new ones.
Came out today with AU.Fait to find some caches they had missed and continue with collecting cache finds for ourselves.

Registered for QOGM2019, we went out to get my FTF and Smittengranny's, we had lunch and au.fait joined Wazza9 and I to do some close by challenges, all solved before leaving home. Quick find, signed log and replaced. Thanks to RoddyC.
Back to Blackall now for QOGM 2019. Setting up and putting a few finishing touches to what needs them.

TFTC. We had solved these series of puzzle caches while we were housesitting innBundaberg. Some were straightforward while others required some joint effort research. All solved in the end. After finishing the picture book trail we were returning to camp on the Barcoo. A short detour to find some of the puzzle caches on the access road.
Headed out this way with micaparamedic with the intention of finding the picture puzzle series. After a short diversion for a couple of traditionals we are now onto our original goal. TFTC RoddyC
Camped at Barcoo Reserve for the QOGM event Blackall, grabbing a few caches on the way. We visited your cache at 1:40 PM Logs signed Coongoola or CG. Thanks for placing this cache RoddyC
Took SmittenGrannys path tag and left one of ours for the next lucky finder.

Arrived in town in time for morning tea and are camped near the river. After checking out the map I decided to go for a stroll to pick up a few caches. Silly me! Once I started I just kept on going despite the midday heat.
This was a slightly trickier puzzle as I didn't dig, or delve, quite deep enough. Eventually with a nudge from a friend, I managed to find the correct page which led me to the coordinates. I quite enjoy puzzles that aren't too hard - ha ha ha! I do have to be able to solve them though.
Thanks for the cache RoddyC. Log signed.

Now that this one has been found I will log my golden smiley. It was really good day when the CO and I drove around and around this area placing hides and there are still more to come up the road a bit. There are more hides to be released prior to QOGM2019 and of course there will be some released in batches over the QOGM2019 weekend as that is what the plan is especially for first to find releases. there are some extra benefits coming your way when you come to Blackall for QOGM2019. TFTC RoddyC and QOGM 2019
Camped at the Blackall caravan park with Roostaman and X-Trailers.
This morning we headed out with Roostaman to complete the Evora Road traill before heading further afield to see what Geocaching could show us about Blackall.
Found a regular size cache here.
