Kolour and I organised a long weekend in Canberra to catch up with the great Domsky duo. Of course there was much caching to be done! Off the plane this morning, a CITO, challenge caches and some targeted caches were on the agenda.A quick find at this great doggo park, thanks Aquilus1 for the cache.

03-Aug-24
Im visiting Canberra from Brisbane with Willis007 for a long weekend with the Domsky duo, our wonderful guides, targeting mainly oldies and challenges. This is my first time geocaching in the ACT.Domsky dropped us off near the top of Black Mountain, then we enjoyed the walk down, finding many caches along the way. We met up with them again at this park and signed the log while we were here. Tftc

We had not visited this particular dog park before and came by this afternoon where quite a few dogs were enjoying the afternoon winter sun with their owners. We parked close to the dog park and then made a walk down to GZ where we found a very cute container. Appropriately themed and our name has been added to the log now. Thanks Aquilus1Domsky

Out for a days caching. Opted to spend the day in Canberra. Spent much of the day walking hills and grabbing lab caches.Really enjoyed my walk around the Black Mt precinct. This was one of a handful I found today. Thanks for contributing to my fun day.My last find before leaving this area. Proved to be a good parking spot for the nearby cachesTFTC ??

Found It!A quick find here with the help of the hint. And I'm glad there is a hint since it would've taken a lot of searching without one!TFTC

Nice to be back in Canberra after moving away a few years back, was new to caching back than with no caching friends in Canberra so didnt get many finds while here. Everytime I come back to visit the family I try to get some more but when it was announced this year's MEGA would be in Canberra I was super excited. After attending the closing ceremony I made the call that we (me and bellahappychappy) had to spend the last night doing some caches i wouldn't usually try alone on my own. Grabbed a late night feed over north side than had a look to see what else we could try before calling it a night. This one was the last one on the list for tonight being minutes from our destination. A quick walk in the dark to find this cache and what a cute cache! Tftc

1st of 8 found today.Only one dog in residence as I parked and headed off to GZ. I was very concerned about my ability to find this one given the surrounds. Thankfully my fears were unfounded.Cache is in good condition and very cute.TFTC Aquilus1 and the mark mark.

A quick detour on the way home from dropping some stuff at the new digs. My god moving house is a slow process. Anyway.

A nice wander near the bark park, which was fortunately deserted at this dark and gloomy hour. Plenty of roos around though, with their spooky eyes glinting by torchlight.

A bit of a wander around to get to GZ and then a fun discovery, which earns this one a favourite point. Thanks Aquilus1!

I returned to attempt this one again, after a DNF on 27/Jul/2021. Decrypter accompanied me. We both searched for awhile. Decrypter finally spotted the cache, but on the second time he checked a spot. Nice to change Sad to Smile. TFTC Aquilus1.

Went bush from the dog park carpark to locate this cache. That involved making my way across 2 thankfully dead beds of blackberry vines before reaching GZ. To other searchers I suggest another not so direct approach. Logpaper was wet but I dried it as good as I could before singing and returning to its lair. TFTC.

I leapt over the flowing water. Frogs croaking. I made my way to GZ. I searched among the native 'grass', but a DNF. Maybe I didn't extend the search far enough. DNF!

Looked for a while. Reception was a bit poor but a rewarding find.

#11730 - 1:42:00 PM; Needing a multi, a regular sized cache plus some others for my personal challenge today, I set off on the hunt after dropping the geohoney in the city. With the two major items taken care of, it was time to pick up a few others in the general area. This cache has been on my radar for quite a while, so happy to finally make the find today. Parked close by and wandered to GZ for an amusing find at the end of the hunt. TFTC Aquilus1 Smile

29-Jun-21
Just a wander in the bush and found this among the native grasses below the little tree just as the clue said. TFTC.

18-May-21
The final cache for my adventure today, making this the ninth find, and only 1 DNF. TFTC

Out and about today with the hope of spending the afternoon grabbing a collection of caches from Black Mountain.

First of the day and fitted my need to turn around to park on the correct side of the road so I stopped in quickly to grab this one, followed the needle until it said 20m and the was a gully in front of me... why do I always find the hard way? Nice quick findnonce on the correct side.

Didn't have a pen! Fell in creek bed on way but fun anyhow. Put faint muddy thumb print on back of log or is that pawprint?

Nice hide. Appropriate looking cache.

Was heading further west to get my daily caching fix, but got stuck in traffic, so stopped here. I am glad I didn't try to find this in the dark. Nice cache.

The log was wet, so I did what every good cacher does and wiped it on my work shirt....
Then let it flutter in the wind and sun.

After grabbing the City Views cache over the road, this was my last stop as I headed back to the car. Cache was found quickly...due to the great hint...otherwise it may have taken me a while. Again, log was signed, cache replaced and it was then up to the road to the car.

Thanks for another one Aquilus1......a fav point for the hint....and the container.

Second day of caching in Canberra this weekend. Weather looks a lot better then yesterday. With that said the bike came out if the car so I didn't drag it along the whole way for nothing. Lots of caches found again, thanks to all for hiding. Also made good progress towards a few goals.

Yeahhh! Finally found- Camo blends in very well with bush. GPS accuracy really good today. Out for a bike ride picking up caches around the city to get some exercise before indoor rock climbing late afternoon. Wanting to change the blue face here to yellow and that was accomplished today. Coordinates changed from:
S 35° 15.576 E 149° 6.569

Coordinates changed to:
S 35° 15.574 E 149° 6.571

Distance from original: 15.7 feet or 4.8 meters.

Fixing these to a little more accurate. It is a bit bouncy in this area but this should help a little, with three devices today we all got different numbers!

**Today:**

Itching to cache today so checked out the map and decided on a list I could hopefully achieve whilst the weather was so nice, to get outdoors and go for a walk or two...! Big Grin

Ended up finding caches near Belconnen Way, Lady Denman Drive and also Yarralumla! Cleaning up any that I still hadn't found along the way. Was lucky to not see too many other people on my adventures, just the odd bike rider on some of the trails I went too! I did notice the Yarra Kebab shop was packed with people waiting outside for takeaway's however as I drove past... crazy times!

---

**This Cache:**

Wow had no idea this Dog Park existed, it is huge too! Not a single person here today though, I wonder how popular it is? I've noticed some dog parks in Canberra are quite popular! This one should be too considering how impressive it looked!

The cache was found in a couple minutes, thanks to the hint. Coordinates are slightly off but the hint is bang on and there is only really 1 place that looks like what you are describing.

Thanks Aquilus1, cute guardian too!

Sadly a DNF on this special day. We looked for over 30mins but no luck. Thought we knew what we were looking for but maybe not given we came up empty handed. We will be back hopefully before another four years.

# 5885 Found with CBRChic on a slightly less hot afternoon. We weren't keen to travel too far or deep into the bush in the current conditions, so this short amble did the trick.
Thanks Aquilus1
