Had a climb around the tree branches but we did not succeed in finding it today
Not sure if maybe it was blown away in the cyclone, but we couldn't find this one today.
Definitely not as high as I was anticipating. Suspect this one may have moved based on a hint, but it made for an easy find today! TFTC
Out on a riverside stroll to knock out a few more caches with BlackPearl26 this weekend. Not much of a climb today as this one was hanging out a bit lower than expected. Put back a bit higher to ensure it doesn’t end up in the river any time soon. TFTC ️
Getting down the slope was harder than getting up to the cache. We think it has fallen from its hiding spot and just sits there in the fork waiting to be put back up.

Out with the Flexi Team.
BlackPearl grabbed this one to save us from the extra risk assessment required if others climbed.
Fun placement.

Getting a few on this side of the river and adding more smiles to my map, nice easy climb. Tftc.
I enjoy a tree climb and had fun here. Getting on to the first limb was the toughest part, the rest wasn't too tricky. Our canine companions didn't know what to make of a human in a tree!

The last log for this was questionable to me as i read it, as was my chances of finding this one when I scoped out the tree. Couldn’t see it anywhere so instead of putting a needs maintenance, i did what I have done a few times with tree fishing caches and scoped out around the base of the tree. Presto, found it with a broken zip tie. Heading back to the car with it to see if I can find one. I added my name and one other who gave it a red hot crack. Because that’s the kind of muppet I am. If you don’t get a follow up log it means I either replaced it or can be found near to where I found the black preform. Not quite the DT I’m chasing but it will do for a daily
We are walking the river picking up some more smiles .. This cache was one of the hard ones to get to.. We are getting on in years...as we made an effort,we are going to claim it as done
Team coongoola are in Townsville for the Mega and finding as many caches as we can.
Great caches along the river.
Thanks GeocachingTownsville for placing this cache.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 14. Townsville post Mega section Day 2. For my last day in Townsville, I joined TikvaNZ for another section of the Ross River power trail, with a bit of on and off again rain and a closed section we did pretty well. After that I set myself a list of puzzles and other non -trad caches to find for the day, which all took a lot longer than I expected, not to mention the ongoing rain all day. It has been a wonderful time in Townsville, and I have many more caches to get, so hopefully I will get to pass through again later in the year.
Thanks for the cache GeocachingTownsville

Day 14 of a 3 week holiday driving from Canberra to Townsville and back to attend the Mega. This morning Albida33 and I did some more of the Ross River Power Trail by bike/scooter. Apart from having to skip 4 due to being fenced off, all caches we attempted were soon found. TFTC.

Out caching with Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and Geoturtle37 today. We had hoped to hire bikes to do this but the rain seems to have washed that idea away.
Please excuse the generic logs but we have over 2000 caches to log. We all had a fabulous time searching for and find these caches. Thank you for all the work that has gone into placing this series and now maintaining them all for our enjoyment.

Out and about with Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and Papi4506. Spook spotted this one then there was only the retrieval left. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find.
Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks GeocachingTownsville (F=33 H=101) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

Catching up with late logs.
Today we were out and about caching with Geoturtle37, Papi4506 & micaparamedic planning an easy day with some sight seeing and some targeted targeted caches that we wanted to get.
When we left Melbourne we had plans of hiring push bikes and doing this entire series but it seems that we are all made of sugar and would dissolve if we get wet so the rain put paid to this plan. Today we were just picking up a selected few.
The rain had eased again but this time we had the correct TOTT with us just in case and we glad that we did as it made life so much easier to retrieve this cache once it was spotted.
We added our name to the log and retuned everything as found,
To save room in the smaller logs we signed as "The Vics"

Just did a Map Compare and found some more I havent logged yet.
Found with the MEGATRONS crew after way too many lemonades at the trivia event.
Temporary fencing?
I move this all the time to get into job sites.
The boys were happy with my efforts and we made the find here... and some others too.
Cheers Geocaching Townsville

With a goal of collecting 150 caches in a day, our plan was to tackle both geoarts, hit the RRPT and collect some other caches in between. An early start was in order to achieve this goal before getting ready for the Trivia night at the MEGA.
A huge thank you to all the COs for preparing and placing the caches we collected today, the variety of hide locations, types and containers was fantastic.

The day had come; the plan to get 150 caches (excluding labs) in a day for another challenge was here. The planning and prep started two months ago when I was at the Wangaratta mega. With the recent zoom events for puzzle solving a big help and the Geoarts of the saint and the book catering for two thirds of the task, it was just a matter of finding 50 more caches so as I was able to complete. Today I had Willis007 with me; we picked on a few quick easy finds as we were passing and motoring between arts. We then grabbed the bikes and went for a ride around along the Ross river parkway or is that power trail.
The Geoarts were found easy and thank you. The book art did slow us down a little with some hides a little tuff to find. the power trail was fun some good caches and some that also slowed us down. However, by the end of the day we were done and the challenge completed.
Thanks to my caching buddies, the CO’s for the caches and the great areas I got to see today.

MEGA Trip - day 3
Assembled the full MEGATRON crew (bella at waggy, dahumbug, tardis0061, crash2079) for an early CITO at Charters Towers and to find as many types as we could in the day.
Having found various types in Charters, we headed to the Saint geoArt puzzles and letterboxes which we collected in record time. Then a quick stop off at the Mega site to complete the maze, before a sprint to Pallarenda for more challenges and solved puzzles. We thought the day would end after the Trivia event, but it seems we were within reach of 100 finds in a day. So what else to do but turn a section of a power trail into a series of night caches.

After the trivia we still had a bit more energy to spend so The Bug, Crash, Tardis and myself headed out for a few more. A bit of wild life around and interesting doing some tree climbs at night.
An unusual find of something that was a non caching item at one GZ but we didn’t touch.
A bit cooler and we had enough head lamps to make the finds.
Typically signed as Megatrons

A fun little climb, I love tree climbing in the dark because what makes it hardest for me is looking down at the ground and becoming a bit shaky! Can't see the ground in the dark though! Signed this one at 8:52pm tonight, TFTC

**Today:**
Day 11 of my road trip from Canberra - Townsville Mega Event!
**Found with sebass19**
Today started with a long drive, Port Douglas - Townsville, we needed to arrive by 10:30am to drop off taytayy1 at the airport, which meant we were on the road before the sun was up!
I then had a short amount of time alone to fill in whilst waiting for sebass19 to arrive in Townsville after a flight from Canberra to join me for mega festivities!
He soon joined me, we filled ourselves up with food for the afternoon, and started caching non-stop like crazy for the rest of the day with the final cache find at 10:15pm! Already done fishing caches, events, tunnels and tree climbs - and it was only day 1 in TSV!

Muggle hubby found this one. Met gerrynewgirl as well whilst we here and after a couple of false starts had the cache in hand. TFTC.
I downloaded a few caches along the river last year and now I actually have a chance to find a few. After a short search, I felt hot, tired and defeated so sat down nearby in the shade to contemplate my next approach, However, I noticed a family coming along the walkway holding what I thought was a GPS, I sung out "When you find it, let me know". The female of the group looked suprised and I then walked over and introduced myself, giving them a couple of pathtags for their collection. cosmonaut97 was their caching name and Mr cosmonaut97 found the container and duly signed it on my behalf. They related to me that the MEGA was on in Townsville next week, but unfortunately I will be back in Charters Towers. TFTC.
I had a few hours this morning before I had to drive home and had the mountain bike packed so decided to do some of this trail, I didn't have time to finish it so will be back another day.
Overall I liked the array of different caches with some being an easy ride all the way to the cache and others needing some tree climbing/fishing ability.
Most of the caches and logs were in good order.
Many thanks to the CO's for placing.

Out caching with Wolffman05 who’s visiting from Cairns. We decided to attack some caches along the Ross River Power Trail.
Arrived at GZ and started a visual inspection to try and spot the prize. I was glad to have the much younger and fitter Wolffman05 was with me, as he completed the hard Monkey yards to retrieve the log.
SL. TNLN. TFTC GeocachingTownsville.
Find # 1620.

Out with Team JLBL thanks for hiding this cache and giving us the opportunity to explore the area. Happily this one was achievable for us.
Thanks for another great climb! Brought out my inner monkey quick grab and nice view! TFTC!
On the bikes today with Bill from DiMorgan, it was the RRPT Trail not sure how we would go looking at some of the terrain ratings, but decided to give it a go.

MrG likes to see his prize before he starts monkeying around so it was a while before he started the climb. With something to aim for he made his way to the cache, unscrewed the lid and the log dropped to the ground. It could have been worse, it could have made it to the water. MrG wasn't that keen about more monkey business than necessary so I'm going to take credit here for a cracker of a throw of the log sheet in the grip of a pen. TFTC GeocachingTownsville.
Lucky the big kid was up for the climb because I was ready to give up. Thanks for the cache.
29/6/20 Enjoying a lovely walk today with wife and kids. Found it TFTC Unable to sign balancing with a repairing broken ankle. Try another day. On holidays and not worth a fall.
After having a look at the logged images, I spotted the price quickly and it wasn’t a too difficult climb to reach it, even though it is a damp day.
Found! It was a fun climb and a bit of a challenge!! TFTC found with @Jollyyoghurt
Found with @VicRoadnight!! This champion did all the hard work climbing this one!! Boy is it up there.
Out on the leap year to log some hides.
Almost got my head on it before I spotted it.
Despite the rain these containers are holding up well. I’m not holding up as well against the mozzies.

Back in Townsville again to catch a plane back home. A chance to grab some more caches in your city. A total of 12 this morning along this trail and 1 DNF in 1.5 hours. Thanks for the hides. This one was soon located and a short climb to find. FP for this one
Too tricky for us this time. Spotted a likely place but couldn’t get high enough safely
RDO Bridge to Bridge adventure. FOUND IT! We were really worried this was not going to be here after reading all the posts that had been logged since BenM70 snatched the FTF. Alighted the tree maybe in haste and started searching in some obvious places with no success. We were a little worried that the recent DNF’s might have been true, but were confident that it was there as indicated by the CO. Read the FTF log again, looking at the picture. Scouted around the tree branches from the ground and after a determined search spotted the bullseye. Now the challenge was on to try and get to it as we wanted our 21 for the bridge to bridge. We werent letting the “fear factor” get us this time, reminisent of Burgos FF5. After several different attempt paths the cache was accessed and 2TF signature added with a smile on our sweaty, sunburnt dials. Next problem, getting down. Bugger, do we call the QFES or risk it for the biscuit with a potential call to the QAS. QAS option has more credibility than chickening out. Carefully descended the tree with less finesse, but made it back to earth with no bark loss (pardon the pun). This challenge made our trip. TFTC
On every Power Trail there has to be that ONE cache that goes unfound [:(!]
Here it was !!
I gave it a good wave from below,
but there's no way I'm going up there,

DNF - so this adventure proved to provide a lot of laughs and some great team work figuring out a way to drag and build smaller logs/branches to help elevate us with our short legs. Monkeys climbed but it still couldn’t find will definitely come back to this one with a longer legged friend in tow
Held off on this one yesterday as i thought the [FTF] had a chance of going another day with it being a bit more of a challenge. Enjoyed the tree climb up in the darkness with plenty of splashing happening below me. Thanks for these that will go a fair way towards keeping the daily streak alive. Appreciated.
