Train would have been so much fun, sadly we seem to need much more excitement on rides these days. TFTC
After a late start e set off to complete the lower section of the Dog's Head Trail. On the way we finished of a Lab and picked up a puzzle but had to pass on some tree-fishing caches as there were too many muggles about. With that part of the trail complete and the rest left for another day we headed out to the Walka Water Works. Time to do some walking, rather than in and out of the car. The area was a surprise with lots of interesting features, particularly the building. The current works detracted somewhat, but we guess the work must be done.Another great day!Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache kingfisher_au.**SKI Pair****
First one of the Walka Water Works trip with SLElliott today. Hint helped, quick find. TFTC
The boys (the male Triton and Tack123) headed over to Walka Water Works to bike ride around the tracks seeking out all the caches as well as labs that have been added to the map since our last trip to Maitland. It was sad to see the beautiful building fenced off and to learn the reason why but it is still a lovely area to visit and exercise in. The unfit Triton remembers bringing her kids here for picnics when they were younger. We had 3 DNFs here but on the whole we had a successful trip, zig zagging in and out to each cache enjoying the various hides especially the 3D printed ones. Thanks kingfisher_au for the series placement.
Be careful red belly spotted near suspected location so will leave for another day
Found with Portstevo on our long weekend adventure! perfect day for caching around a heart shaped lake, thankfully not as hot as yesterday. Tftc
After recently seeing the latest Wonka movie, though I know not related, this series sparked my interest. On the drive back from Tuncurry to Sydney today made a stopover with JimmyDave to read about the history of the place and do the caches around the lake. Last find the day. We had had enough of bush bashing in the lantana so just elected for an easy one on the path. Was quite warm by then too and we were ready to finish the drive and get home. Thanks for this series and an interesting place to visit.
Out with my GeoChauffeur today and some Muggles to check out the Water Works. It would have been great to have been able to see more of it however a lot of it is fenced of due to it being cleaned up of asbestosis and some updating. It was still nice to visit the area.
There seems to be so much history around the area would be great to go back when it is finally finished it renovations.
Thanks kingfisher au for bringing us to this piece of history...

What a lovely walk with the kids. This will be our last one for today but we’ll definitely be back. Thanks kingfisher_au for a really pleasant couple of hours meandering.
My last walka wander was in summer of 2021 and I remember it being a long hard slog. Today the weather is beautifully mild and I must be fitter because it was a lot easier.
Found this one quickly with no troubles TFTC

I was there yesterday, definitely there, very sneaky you may need to feel it not see it
Found remnants of a broken container, half bracelet, Batman minifig and scraps of a notepad, but no cache, despite it saying owner checked on it today.
Was in a bit of a sad state, we had a suitable container with us so we replaced it
Container was broken as mentioned by others. Replaced container (still “guarded”, and blends in with guarded) and sent CO message with photos.
Found it. The container is in pieces and the pages of the logbook were everywhere
working on replacement , there is light at the end of the current tunnel back in play soon
Hi kingfisher_au,

Down visiting the family for the weekend. Hit the trail at walka for a warm 37 degree sunday afternoon. Had the dad and brother in tow all 3 of us rode the trail. It wasn't far in when we noticed the temperature dropped. Felt a cool breeze for the remainder of the afternoon (must have been in the 20s).
Loved the few hours spend cycling around and doing a mixture of cache types that I haven't gotten in my previous visits here.
Many different and some familiar cache containers today. Lots of creativity has gone into the trail and containers. Few favourite points even rewarded.
