We are on a one week holiday road trip from Sydney to Brisbane to Sydney, with pre-booked accommodation at the Ingenia White Albatross Holiday Park in Nambucca Heads, the Big4 NRMA Treasure Island Holiday Resort on the Gold Coast, the Blue Dolphin Holiday Resort in Yamba, and the Big4 Leisure Tourist Park in Port Macquarie. Planning to collect some caches around our accommodation stays, and also stop-off for some targeted caches along the M1 Pacific Motorway route. Photos will be uploaded to logs after our return to home base.Today we are leaving Port Macquarie and heading back home, with our week long road trip now at an end, but we still managed to collect some caches and Adventure Labs along the road out to Settlement Point before bidding farewell to Port and heading southward on the M1 Pacific Motorway. Stopped for a couple of roadside caches along the motorway route, at Johns River and Nerong, which served as handy rest breaks. This was the 5th of 10 finds for the day (day Cool, and 92nd find of the holiday. This one was next, as we drove back along Settlement Point Road, and it was a nice quick find on arrival at GZ. TNLNSL, and then replaced as found. Cute little birdy. TFTC Tatt2squared.Find #7250

Up from Sydney for casual geocaching in the Mid North Coast and staying a few days in Port Macquarie. We are about to give up on finding this little blue wren when Mrs Gaztek spotted it tucked away in the foliage. Very cute container. SL TFTC Cheers Gaztek

17-Oct-24
Pulled up near GZ to find a trailer and a large ride-on mower on the grass. With no one in sight, I walked to GZ to begin my search. Within a few minutes, Mr Mower Man turned up driving an even bigger ride-on and began mowing the nearby grass. He then turned and was heading for me to I decided to give this one away. I'll be back in PM at some point to try again.

We were on a ride around some caches. Getting to this was like The Case of the Disappearing Path. How much nicer is a cache when its part of something that fits its surroundings. TFTC Tatt2squared.

We are staying down the coast to avoid the coldest of the winter weather in Victoria.

In Port, grabbing a few around this lovely area, where it isn't too busy with the holiday makers.

The cute container was found after a short search, once at GZ.

Thanks Tatt2squared for placing this cache and doing the maintenance, so we can enjoy finding it.

Unlike the nearby rainbow lorikeet, the blue wren is both an attractive and interesting bird and not socially offensive. TFTC Tatt2squared. Found 18/6/2023 10:13 am. Cache 2004 for us.

It was actually the PMQ tourist guide "discover" that had quite a bearing on our caching fun this afternoon.
Another quick find as we made our way around town.

Thanks to Tatt2squared for adding this well themed cache to the gameboard.

Quick find after a change of plans for the day. Peaceful spot and nice container. It’s always a great day for caching.
TFTC Tatt2squared

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria

And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

A lovely day at Port Macquarie, so what to do in the afternoon? Go Geocaching of course.
We hadn’t been to this area before, so its virgin territory for us.
The coordinates for this cache were spot on and so a short search found us with CIH.

28-Mar-21
Dayboro trip. Day 3. I was supposed to be in Port Macquarie, but could not because of the floods affecting the van parks. This did not stop me driving down from Waughope for a day around town caching. Plenty of evidence of the devastating floods, I think only one of my DNFs would have been caused by the floods. I was looking for a puzzle cache today, it took three trys, the first failed due to my ladder being too short. After a full day I did some shopping and then found time for logging after dinner in Waughope.

My GPS said I was in a lake, but there was a cache to be found and it was hiding in the scrub, and this time I saw it OK.

Thanks.

Out for a bit of a wander this morning and decided this string of bird caches would be a good way to earn something for my exertions. Managed three of the four ... it seems that I either spot this sort of hide straight away or not at all.

Thanks for a nicely themed series Tatt2squared.

I was out for a walk with the geodog after staying round the corner for the night. Nice and fresh this morning but so clear and few folk around which made looking easier. This one was found fairly quickly, the container making me smile. Dropped the log sheet in the dirt so that was a minor drama, dog was bored by then so trying to pull to move on, all of which combined to make this an easy find but not an easy cache.
