After 115 finds and 2 favourite points I’m archiving GC8BQGC RRPT - Up the S Bend and giving the space back entirely to our resident possum. Too many times it has been interrupted from it’s slumber. Tis a shame as the view from here is still fantastic. How lucky are we to have this backdrop.
The real reason for archiving it is to collect the $1.50 I have racked up in swag plus Bo Peep, the little Leprechaun and the lady beetles.
Thanks to all that visited it. Cache collected for another effort somewhere else, maybe.

No maintenance today as this little fellow was licking his wounds. Happy to take a pat but not checking the the cache in case it freaks out
Not wanting to overextend myself I decided to do a nice easy one down by the river. couldn't been to many spots to hide a cache of this size on the tree and was in the second place I looked. Certainly some goodies in this container. Certainly happy to be it’s 100th visitor. I’ll raise the bat for you, BenM70. Beautiful spot down by the river even if it is drizzling at times.
Back in Townsville visiting for a couple of days before we head west. We came for a walk by the river and found some amazing large trees. This was one of them, and we were surprised to see such a large hide in this very urban environment.
Beautiful views!
Thanks BenM70

I thought I might have trouble reaching this, but no such problem. I left a nice piece of jewellery; a large, sparkly, jewelled bird brooch. Don't spike yourself. TFTC BenM70.
I decided to convert this cache into a smiley on my map this morning in order to try keep my current daily streak alive. I feel like my dog enjoys geocaching just as much as me. She almost seemed to smile for this photo. I loved the size of the cache you have managed to put in this location. Thanks for another great hide BenM70.
Went out while raining but that didn’t stop me from finding this cache and signing the log.
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 14. Townsville post Mega section Day 2. For my last day in Townsville, I joined TikvaNZ for another section of the Ross River power trail, with a bit of on and off again rain and a closed section we did pretty well. After that I set myself a list of puzzles and other non -trad caches to find for the day, which all took a lot longer than I expected, not to mention the ongoing rain all day. It has been a wonderful time in Townsville, and I have many more caches to get, so hopefully I will get to pass through again later in the year.
Thanks for the cache BenM70

Day 14 of a 3 week holiday driving from Canberra to Townsville and back to attend the Mega. This morning Albida33 and I did some more of the Ross River Power Trail by bike/scooter. Apart from having to skip 4 due to being fenced off, all caches we attempted were soon found. TFTC.

Expected to get my hands soiled while up in the S bend. Luckily it was the clean side of the S that was handled. Onward upstream to the next RRPT, thanks for the cache BenM70.

In Townsville, hit the trails with beckNmonts and Earthbound Chief. Found this one along the way.
Day 15, no pattern to today, started heading towards the book series and then random caches along our travels. A fun day.
Massive thanks go to BenM70 for placing this one.

A fantastic scooter ride around the river resulted in some caches today! Thanks for the caches BenM70.
Found with BecknMonts while out using our electric scooters. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon when we found most of the cachers that we went for.
We found RRPT - Up the S Bend while on our saintly pursuits in FNQ. ...we are glad we have finally made it here.
Thanks BenM70 for hiding this cache so that we could come and enjoy ourselves

A lovely cool and overcast Easter Sunday, perfect for doing some more of this fantastic walking trail along the river.
Townsville Mega Day Three.
This is one of three caches along the river that I stopped to find whilst targeting the nearby challenge cache. Hopefully I’ll get time to do a bit more before my time here runs out.
Did anyone else spot the frog in the other hole?
Thanks for the cache and series GeocachingTownsville

Day 12 of the trip from Perth to Townsville.
Today was a quick trip down from Charters Towers to get the only appointment available to replace the windscreen before doing a few caches here and there around Townsville. After booking in to the cabin went for another short caching run before doing some shopping.
Cache found without problems. Log signed and cache returned as it was found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for geocachers to find.

Day 12 of the trip from Perth to Townsville.
Today was a quick trip down from Charters Towers to get the only appointment available to replace the windscreen before doing a few caches here and there around Townsville. Had decided to do a walk around some of the RRPT but it got too hot for a long walk so cut the number of caches attempted down to a shorter number.

Found while out on a river walk with our little geo-terrier and his friend. Thanks
Found at 8:04 AM GAFF3 .
Now there was a leap of faith having to plunge your hand in there amongst dozens of weird flying and buzzing insects!
Thanks BenM70.

Coongoola & Geodog are on an adventure travelling to the Townsville event in Qld. We found your cache today, 9 April 2022 4:39 pm , while enjoying another day out adding to our tally. TFTC BenM70
I had a few hours this morning before I had to drive home and had the mountain bike packed so decided to do some of this trail, I didn't have time to finish it so will be back another day.
Overall I liked the array of different caches with some being an easy ride all the way to the cache and others needing some tree climbing/fishing ability.
Most of the caches and logs were in good order.
Many thanks to the CO's for placing.

We woke up to another great morning with clear sunny skies and light winds so decided it was a great day to go for a ride along the Ross River. The added bonus of series of caches on both sides added to the attraction.
The trails were well formed and flat to undulating and the cache styles varied. Some tree climbs we had a go at where we could spot the cache and others, discretion was the better part of valour! Some we just didn’t bother to try! We managed an Earthcache and qualified for a challenge.
At one stage we spotted a Johnstone crocodile while searching for a cache near the water. Heard 3 others splash in as we approached. Then around the corner we saw turtles and later in a scrubby area quite a few wallabies. Water birds were also quite common.
At the furtherest point where we crossed the river for the return journey we came across a cafe where we were able to sit and enjoy a coffee.
All in all, a great day out with some good caching. Feeling a little tired as we are writing these logs, but what a great day out.
Our thanks to the local COs for developing and maintaining these caches. It is much appreciated.

Had a good afternoon Geoing with The Cuffs…. Some scary moments avoiding spider webs & looking out for our slithery friends but it was all good didn’t come across any today
Much more accessible tree cache for the wee ones with a great sized container. Left a few stickers and resin gem for the next little ones.
The river cycleway is a favourite cache haunt for us so a DNF from a previous visit isn't a bad thing... it's the chance for another ride and another cache to look for. Don't know how we missed it last time or why we nearly missed it again though. TFTC BenM70, took The mermaid named Flower and her dolphin Bubbles TB.
An undercover geo mission to my old stomping grounds.
Night time caching along the rejuvenated Ross River trail.
Reminded me of a few things like the size of the canetoads here, greenants is a thing (no encounters)
Leaving the river for tonight. Green guardian here!
Thank you for hiding this geocache Ben

I've had my eye on this one awhile, had the opportunity to grab it tonight Nd so with the help of my taller geocaching partner I was able to log this as a find and retrieve a trackable!
Searched for a largish container to drop a TB in and my search bought me to this one.
Easy park and grab but bought the dogs for a quick walk. Nice big container and hide - dropped off TB6C390 for the next person to find. Seems BenM70 was lurking around the corner and found the TB before I even had the chance to log it TFTC

Nice quick find. Picked up the malta trackable and will move to another cache within the next few days
Today was another day on the bikes, riding the RRPT searching for caches with the Snakepitters, this was a great way to visit the area.
There was quite a variety of hides including tree climbis, glad to have a monkey in the group with us today
Thanks for placing this amazing series BenM70

Quick check as it did have a find after a DNF but it was an unexpected DNF. All good still. No guardian today
A few seconds into looking for this cache I spotted its guardian. I decided to let the little possum sleep. Will try it again later when the guardian is out and about.
Our farewell caching for Townsville. Spent a nice time here. Thanks to all COs for their caches.
