Since todays plan fizzled I headed out in the geo-car for a few caches by myself today.Overzealous, Mumbling-scowling Accoster, Hassler, GC8BZEF, but I could not find it today. Might just be a case of cache blindness. Ive messaged the you.TFTC, TFTH
I am in the area again for work. A change of shift means I am here at 0540am. At least the sun is up. This cache would of been nasty to find at 0130am when I was doing the early drive into Brissy. Found after a short search. Thanks for the cache.
A leisurely morning with a morning tea event and a catch up with geofriends. The puzzle has been solved so now time to head to GZ for the find. The mumblings and groanings started when we encountered GZ. What an overzealous growth of vines and vines and over growth around GZ.Eventually found an opening and took it.TFTPuzzle Oddiewan
Out after a morning event.Mumbling, scowling, griping, then laughing . That's generally the puzzle solving process! Log signed and cache replaced as found at 3:39 PM on January 20, 2024. TFTC, Oddiewan
Killing time waiting for a delayed plane. Thank god for geocaching . This one was quickly solved, gz presented more of a challenge in slip on flat shoes, lucky no one was watching as I was less than delicate . TFTC
Was in two minds about pushing in when I got to GZ. But then I spotted what I wanted so in I went.
had to look up the puzzle as it has been solved for quite a while a nice walk to gzi saw a bunny ... fasted says it is a hair ... i saw a bunny i remember the trad here many moons ago nice to revisit ... not quite in the same spot oh i see youin i godropped off Dolphin Dreamers tbunable to log drop off as another cacher has put it in their collectioncontacted them and the owner cacher has not removed from collection to movable and owner has not responded i have put it back out in the wild took hohoho stampleft green ribbon
I'm sure there used to be a traditional here years ago. Wasn't sure what to expect on arrival as after reading some other logs I was a bit concerned. However, spotted reasonably quick and retrieved. Log signed, cache replaced.TFTH
Had a spare hour on a glorious Friday morning and noted this one was nearby. After scarring off the local wildlife, I got to GZ, trusting the coords a soon spied it... bit tricky to retrieve but had it signed and returned. Spent a moment to watch some wrens flit around and a Pelican hang out with the ducks. TFTC

I needed a 5km walk today and of all places, Fangsoki suggested we go for a walk around this area.
I have had this one sitting solved for a while now, so we decided it would be a good place to start the walk.
Weirdly I seem to recall being in this rough location before for a cache.
Anyway, Fangsoki went in through the entanglement to grab the cache and pass to me for signing duties.
Thanks for the cache Oddiewan.

1MinnieMoo and I were in the area and decided to drop into this cache.
We made our way to GZ and 1MinnieMoo spotted the prize. I was surprised it was where it was as it was "quite deep". Being the gentleman I am, I made the plunge and grabbed the cache and handed it to 1MinnieMoo.
We signed the log and returned the cache to its home. A nice little spot. TFTC Oddiewan

Had a look at this puzzle after completing a nearby multi. Interesting puzzle. Was swayed by a colleague about one of the answers so had two bites of the checker. It will be interesting to see how the area around gz develops. Took a little bit of keen eyesight to spot the cache but we did. Thanks for the cache
This mystery was close by so after a bit of a testing puzzle some coordinates were at hand. The container was found right on dusk. Log signed and container returned. We were surprised by a muggle lurking in the park - perhaps smoko break from a nearby business?
Got within 10m but was looking decidedly underwater/mucky and I'm in transit, so want to keep my clothes presentable!
3.55pm
After spending a few hours shopping nearby, I thought I had better grab this cache since I was so close. Needed to confirm my final coords with a previous finder and came in via the unorthodox way and then found the cul de sac!
Walking to Gz found I too needed to be over there so a quick walk around and came to GZ where I started searching and was not keen to get too far in but spied the cache close by. Signed log then returned as found.
Interesting puzzle. Tftc

Had this one on my solved list for a bit and was nearby early this morning for work so stopped to make the find. Had the right gz to start with but just over thought the hide. After a secondary search i spotted the container. Signes the log and returned the cache to its home. TFTC
The puzzle took a bit of fooling around on my part but eventually came good.
Today I was near enough to make a move on the GZ at dusk. Like almost everyone, I started on the wrong side. Then I was very reluctant to climb into the thicket as I was wearing my best suit. Something definitely rustled in the grass nearby. After attempting an approach from another direction, I suddenly realised the cache was right in front of me after all (must have been the good camo).
Phew! No need to climb in so badly after all. All good inside (and I added some silicate). Thanks to Andy G for the replacement and TFTC.

I passed the quiz and found the cache. But the log book is destroyed. So now I’m walking back to DFO to buy a small notebook and ziplock bag to do repairs. I have time before my flight to Melbourne later today
Found. Favourite point for the creative puzzle. I usually skip puzzles because I’m not a cryptic thinker. But this one was more about logic. Log has been replaced and double bagged. TFTC

I am clearly not cut out to be a security guard as it took a few attempts to pass the exam. After some nearby retail therapy it was time for the practical test. Found on the first attempt. TFTC

After attending an excellent CITO Event on the southside it was time to cross the bridge and hit the northside for some shopping at one of my favourite stores, Wild Earth. I was in there too long and spent too much but that’s just the way it is with me and that store haha. As I’m leaving the store I remembered I recently solved this one and it was nearby. Let’s go. I managed to drive the geo-van to GZ which was nice. A quick find and all in good order. Thanks for the cache and puzzle. Maybe time for 1 or 2 more..
Had to drop off my MUX for a service at a nearby service centre. Nice and early 6 C this morning and I decide to collect a few caches on the bike.
After indulging in coffee and a caramel filled doughnut it was time to seek the cache. Now the trouble with looking for caches not regularly found is well they are not regularly found and hence geo-trails are somewhat lacking. I battled on an found the cache resting peacefully on a roost.

Spent the whole afternoon at the DFO here, and spent the time standing around while girls shopped trying to solve this cache…..unfortunately, I only just figured out the solution as we were driving away. And by then we needed to get back on the road again. So it’s a DNF for me today
Yay, so excited we found this one. Nearly gave up until we looked at the activity and tried the other side of the stream. Marked our cache name on the back page but the log needs replacing as it is very wet and soggy. Unfortunately didn't have spare paper or a glad bag to place the paper into. This is our second mystery find. TFTC!
An early mark from school today, so a drive around to grab this one was in order. It has been on my list to collect for some time but it always seemed a ways out of the way. A drive around today and I saw an area that looks possible. Umm, no it’s over there, so a walk around and I spied the cache just sitting there. So happy to clean up another in this area.
After signing the log I replaced the cache in the tree just a little off the ground and with a vine holding it in place. All good with this one and a thank you for the puzzle and the cache

Wandered down after a touch of masked-shopping. It does take some of the fun out of it!
Love a good speed bump.
Paid no attention to the youths in their car smoking ''an alternative to tobacco'' and went for a look! Wrong side initially but got there!
Cache is in great shape! Thanks for the added fun today

I solved this one so long ago that I forgot how I did it!
There never seemed to be a time to be in the area, so when the opportunity popped up today I grabbed it.
TFTC Oddiewan.
No money was spent today, thankfully . All is well with the cache and log.

I remember when there was another cache here... many years ago... I released a Tb here that went exactly 0kms...
I’ve had a solution for awhile and decided to stop by on my way for a little retail therapy... I still jump when the long grass around me starts to move like a scene from Jurassic Park... and the locals go running off...

Worked this one out a couple of months ago and today was my first chance to get back here. Found easily. Picked up a Tb and left a pencil. Tftc
Easy find once I was on the right side of the stream. The shed is the wrong side.

Solved this last night in preparation for today. I found the right source document, but was pleased to note I was only one off on my uneducated guess to start with. There was no trouble accessing this this afternoon and I remember collecting a cache around this way before.
One day I really should come here and shop I guess, I hear you can pick up quite the bargain.

This was a fun puzzle to solve, the answers were easy to get if you found the right source.
Can't say getting to the cache was as easy, I could spot it, just wasn't sure how to get close enough to get my hands on the cache. After some perseverance I got there!
Log signed and cache in as found.
Thanks Oddiewan for the cache.

Out chasing some lab caches and whatever else pops up on my radar along the way.
Today seemed like a good day to visit this area. Should be nice and quiet.
This one has been solved for a while. Possibly due to a visit to the shops at some point.

Waz wanted to go shopping! What the! He needed tennis shoes and a mate had bought a great pair at DFO. Off we went. I said we should get a cache whole we were out. Bother, a mystery! I looked at it and realised that it was certainly doable
We had a coffee and worked on the puzzle got a tick love it when there is a checked and we were 400 metres away

My first mystery/premium cache, and only my second cache since mid-March. Tftc, I never knew this view was here. Great way to get back into it.
Contents are dry, plenty of room left in logbook

I stumbled around here before I made the right decision of where to search for the cache. When I arrived at GZ I made a quick find as I was expecting something more difficult. Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC
A reasonable quick find although DisSister had La Kedi on snake watch after she'd heard rustling in the grass but all was clear. Cache in good condtion. TFTC
Solved this one during an insomnia phase a while back. Maybe I should change career now? Cache was found safe and dry. TFTC Oddiewan
Given that my partner is in security, it would’ve been embarrassing if I hadn’t been able to solve this cache. On arriving at GZ, we weren’t sure which side to take initially, but chose the correct side as it turns out. We were actually able to see the cache before we approached the area – does that make us good security guards? I cleared the way through the long grass to make sure that we had no snakes and DisSister retrieved the slightly tumbled out of position cache, braving any spiderwebs. Cache found safe and well.

We noticed this puzzle cache down at the DFO. Whilst travelling on the Skygate bus we tested our knowledge of being a successful security guard. We came up with the required coordinates and we enjoyed the short walk to locate the hide. The log was signed and the container returned to its hiding place. TFTC
Earned my security certificate but on the job, the bad guys would bowl me over with a feather. Came down to the area for a quick find. Signed the log and returned to where I found it. Thanks oddiewan. All good with this cache and puzzle.
We were in the area because my mum needed a lift to the airport. She was heading to Cairns and rather than make sure she had her wallet, clean underwear and toothbrush, I made sure she had packed her face mask. I also don’t want to spend any time thinking about my mother’s underwear.
Last night I solved this mystery while hanging at the RSL. We had a dinner planned with our daughters but they were both working and planned to meet us there. Instead of waiting around for them to finish, we made the executive decision to jump in an Uber early so we could go down and guard a dinner table. They also have lots of beer there so waiting patiently is not an issue. I should visit this magical adult theme park more often.
It was still too early for the DFO to kick off so we parked there although we could have maybe ended up a lot closer. When I see yellow lines painted in gutters I get nervous. I also get nervous when I find myself in the gutter after a night at the RSL. tftc

I like the container! Nice camouflage. All is good here. The logbook is very, very slightly damp but can be signed easily. There was quite a bit of birdlife around today too, which was a nice bonus.TFTC
Worked through the clues and found it quickly. Parked near the pumping station and had a quick look where I thought it would be. TFTC
Today I had to visit the nearby DFO to return a previous purchase, and decided to call in on some local caches on the way. Sadly the weather gods decided not to play nicely, with the clouds that had been gathering all morning deciding to unleash their moisture as I was approaching the area.
Thanks to Victor Del Prado I was able to park a little closer to GZ, but it turned out I had picked a rather muddy spot thanks to the rain. A short walk later I was at GZ and it didn't take long to spot the hide. Managed to keep the rain out of the container and off the logbook while I completed signing duties. TFTC

A quick solve prior to heading out for some caching. I was half expecting an over zealous security guard to sneak up on me but fortunately no such sightings! Tftc
Solved this one recently in the anticipation of shopping nearby but we didn't end up going. Instead, came this morning and drove to within 30m of gz. Cache was located easily enough and replaced in its hide. Tftc!
After passing the test and answering all the questions we headed to this GZ to find the prize.
A nice quiet area today so that made searching an easy time for us.
All was good with the cache.

After finding a nearby cache, we headed to this puzzle that I had solved. Hmmm....I had found another cache near here, some time ago. This one is not in the same spot, but was quickly located all the same. With our names added to the log and the cache returned to its spot, we were soon on our way again. TFTC
Out on a very warm Sunday morning caching. As I had solved the puzzle the day before, arrived at GZ and found the cache. Signed log. TFTC
On my way to pick up Peli1406 from the airport but her flight was overbooked and she was one of 7 people requiring an alternate flight. No point going back home just to kill a few hours, so perfect chance to grab a cache. Solved this last week when I dropped her off at the airport. Thanks to the CO for placing & maintaining this cache, and for showing me a great area.
Cheers. ??

I am most often "stumped" by mystery caches, but this one seemed "do-able". I dropped the CoTE, at the retail outlets after solving and checking the solution. A well constructed container with above average contents was the reward. I added foreign coins and some SWAG. I took nothing. TFTC and I will remain in retirement, leaving security to those that need work .
I had to make my yearly trip to DFO for new shoes today so I decided to clear up the caches that have appeared since my last visit. Cache solved easily, only had to look up a couple of things. I had a sense of deja vu at the location, sure I found a previous cache here. Nice container. TFTC
Late arrival from Mt Isa tonight.
After dropping off two colleagues at the Novotel, this was close.
Two caches in this area was a good target.
The puzzle solved the other day, just a matter of collecting the cache in torchlöight.
Thank you for this one

Fresh off a flight from Canberra, I had the three caches in this area on my grab list for the drive out of the airport. After securing the TB Hotel, I pulled up near this one to find a truck parked close by, with the sides open and guys working inside.
Thankfully, GZ was to the rear of said truck and I had more than enough cover from the rear end and the nearby trees. So, off I went in search of the cache.
I spotted the container on arrival and moved in for extraction. Out with the log, I etched my name then returned everything as found.
On departure I thought to myself, I wonder if the CO has strategically positioned security guards here to monitor activity around the cache.
Cheers Oddiewan.

Spent way too long on the wrong side of the "creek" thinking it would be difficult to cross (face palm... I blame it on not yet having breakfast after a Brisbane open house airport tour). Easy to find when you're in the right spot. Tftc!
Chasing an FTF at one of the CO's caches nearby, I met Vegan Cachers who had just had a run in with an Overzealous Mumbling AH, masquerading as a self important security guard. That night, I didn't need the hassle and called off the search.
No chance of that today. Parked close by and a short walk later I had this cache in hand. Thanks Oddiewan

When I was planning my caches to attack on my run on the Northside I saw this one and set about solving it. A couple of answers wrong the first time and after correcting them I had the new location.
After finding the other nearby cache I drove to the new spot and found that I could drive very close to the cache and have a quick find.

Easy find once phone stopped jumping around. Can definitely relate to the title of this cache, since I have worked in a similar industry.
My geo work buddy and I solved this one lunch break and had fun doing this puzzle. Today is day 7 of streak week and when I submit this I will get a nice new souvenir which I dont know what I will do with and why I love getting them. Its the thrill of the challenge. I was able to park fairly close and after a little hunt I found this cache. Thanks for the fun puzzle and for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
Solved the puzzle without the need for research, but still don't quite get the title?! An easy find was made here today, not the first cache I've found here.
Today's find is the last I needed to qualify for the Streak Week souvenir, yay!

Apparently I am finding a cache a day this week for a souvenir - this evening I was in this area, so I took the opportunity to pick up this one that was sitting in my solved pile. With others in the car I was under pressure to make this a quick park and grab, and a first foray into an area I visited once many moons ago did not increase their confidence in my prowess.
Thankfully a quicker find once I re-positioned myself (GPSr was kinda happy "in the middle", but only a metre or two either way). Phew, reputation intact, log was signed and we were quickly on our way.
Thanks Oddiewan for entertaining me at this location.

Day 2 of a streak.
Solved this when it was published. Nice to have a fall back profession if required.
Not really sure why I haven’t picked this up before as I work at the airport and drive past most days but as it turns out it made for an easy grab between work and school pick up today.
Thought of parking a bit closer but it was a nice day so I walked over. Lots of birds around which was lovely.
I remember there was a cache near here a while ago and that’s where I headed but realised that wasn’t quite right. Once I followed my phone’s GPS to the correct spot it was an easy find. If I had my bag with me I would have next a few swaps as it was looking a little bare.
Thanks for the fun little puzzle.

The start of the new souvenir offer and I was required to be in Brisbane (down from Toowoomba) to pick up my parents from the airport. Ideally a puzzle would be nice...I had a look around at available puzzles the night before and this one was a straightforward solve...thankyou! Being a Sunday afternoon I decided to go for a driveby to see if I could indeed park a little closer. Perfect park up on the grass off the road with not a soul or car in sight. Raced over to GZ with only a couple of pelicans as observers. Signed and returned as found before getting on with the parental pickup duty. TFTC Oddiewan.

Over this way to collect an incoming friend from a flight and allowed time to clear the map. Solved this puzzle last night, but required a number correction by the bearded one as some of the responses were not as expected. Guess it all comes down to perception
Drove to GZ as street parking is not permitted, noting the yellow lines. On the wrong side it seems, wandered over the other side where a muggle was reading a book in her lunch break. She didn’t see me dive into the bushes to grab the cache. Now my pen is not working, so made a beeline for the muggle to borrow a pen Quick chat, logbook signed and cache replaced. Returned pen to the owner.

Quickly solved this in front of the TV last night and decided to swing by and grab it on the way home from work this afternoon. Thanks for the cache
Continued …
We made quick time & were soon approaching a quite familiar area & wouldn’t you know it?
An OMAHs vehicle parked just right of where we wanted to be!
A quick drive-by & I was fairly certain (but then I’m rather ‘sight limited’ at night) there was no-one in the vehicle.
Was that good or bad?
Are we about to be jumped on by Lurking Larry?
Knowing our luck it will be our friend from recent times so, often operating just outside conventional expectations, we wheeled left up over a kerb & abandoned the Geo-Beast, well hidden & camouflaged, & proceeded on foot, lights hooded & heads down as we hobbled & scuttled toward GZ.
Our therapist says we have impulse control issues! []
Once on location, & after a quick look around, we made an executive decision & went for gold.
Scurrying about in the dark, with no real idea of what we were looking for or where (but then the CO has, in the past, been fairly accurate with co-ordinates) we bee-lined it to where our joint hunch indicated we would most likely be successful.
In the process of searching, between us, we got poked in the eye, neck, ear & back with an assortment of sticks & branches, almost fell in a ‘ditch’ & stumbled over multiple invisible objects while trying our best in the dark to be stealthy while flashing lights around in an isolated obscure area … nothing suspicious about that at all!
We were so close you could almost smell success or was that my nervous perspiration?
Mrs VC decided to let me take this one so after a little acrobatics & a visual assist the cache was finally in hand!
Woohoo!
A clean log … FTF! LOL …
Now where is my pen … ?
Hmmm … got a pen darl?
I groaned & Mrs VC turned to make the trek back to the Geo-Beast to get our back-up writing stick … we had raced out tonight WITHOUT the usual TOTTs … Bummer!
Keeping an eye open for Lurking Larry & cautioning Mrs VC that she should, if approached, make like a river & run, I settled back nervously awaiting her return.
Do you realise how long that took?
Probably only a couple of minutes but I had thoughts along the lines of ‘from here to eternity’!
Shhhh!
I can’t see a thing but I hear noises, shuffling, approaching muffled footsteps.
Just as I was about to scream for mercy a hand appeared from the gloom clutching a pen … OMG, that was nearly fatal!
Hastily made our mark & replaced the cache as found then sidled our way back to our escape pod keeping an ever watchful eye for intruders of the OMAH or Geocacher kind.
Made it in record time, high fives & we laughed all the way home!

Yes, looks like you have milked us for yet another Favourite Point. LOL …

Found @ 7.50pm
Once again we were sitting quietly at home watching the idiot box & poisoning ourselves with yet another brew of caffeine laden heaven & a new cache gets published nearby, this one!
Wow!
A new unknown cache by one of a few COs, relatively new to the area, that we have yet to cross paths with (lucky them! LOL …).
Fired up the laptop for a quick peek at the description but we really weren’t planning on any after dark forays tonight so it was merely curiosity.
Having done a handful of this particular CO’s recently published caches, which had set the bar quite high, we were keen to have a Bo-peep at this latest offering.
I knew it …
We should NOT have looked!
Now we’re hooked!
OMAHs indeed! LOL …
Both Mrs VC & I had a go at cracking the mystery but as I had the most ‘experience’ dealing with OMAHs of this ilk I definitely had the edge, yep, nailed it!
A sideways glance at each other & we were out the door, into the Geo-Beast & heading for potential trouble. [:0]
A quick look at the map & a quick shudder went through us both as we remembered several past experiences, while geocaching, of OMAHs trying to steal our thunder.
SERIOUSLY ... get a life of your own guys!
We've had a few encounters, around the airport in particular, where OMAHs have gone to great lengths to impress upon us their self-importance in the general scheme of things but we just don't seem able to get the message.
We also had a case of a particularly self-impressed guard (Military Policeman?) at a military establishment (which will remain un-named for security reasons - ours, not theirs! LOL …) who (short version) demanded we move on & wasn't too impressed when I assured him I would … when WE were ready to do so.
Obviously he lacked sufficient support (or legal rights) to accost us further as, mumbling under his breath about calling the Police, he scuttled back to his little cubicle scowling all the way.
Perhaps it's a case of Early Onset Alzheimer's (a type of dementia that causes problems with memory, thinking and behaviour) that is clouding our judgement?
Anyhow, back to tonight’s misadventure!
