Working at council today..had a quick look for this one. Obvious where it was. Definitely not there now.
Wasn’t there searched high and low! Maybe because the trees have recently been trimmed back
When just passing through thought we would get a quick cache.
But we're unable to find anything

It started to rain as we parked past the theatre (in case there were no closer parking spots). Didn't read all the description so did a circuit around the post office. Eventually got back to the correct spot dripping wet. Cache retrieved and log signed. TFTC
I struck gold here once I surrounded the trees holding low greens and looking a little higher.
It has been quite some time since I explored the general Burdekin region. Numerous years ago we stayed in town overnight, did a dive at the SS Yongala and enjoyed the little town a little more before continuing further. Since that time we usually only rushed through to leave as much bitumen behind us as possible with the aim of exploring locations down south. Also a few more wet visits at the Yongala followed, but all of those were made via liveaboars.
But not this time. This time I specifically took the time to enjoy the area. Well, and what better to do than searching for all these great new caches that have fairly recently been added to the map. Thank you very much Newcacher#2 that you have created this cache and showed me the area! Much appreciated.

A clue from a previous post was helpful and we had to dodge the sprinklers.
Also found a lovely little nest ️

Came here yesterday but the tree loppers had the park fenced off; better luck today and not as many people around.

Made the find this evening with my nephew FootballHeadWill. There are currently 1000s of rainbow lorikeets nesting in these trees here at night. The noise they were making was phenomenal. Thanks for placing this.cache here for us to enjoy.
Couldn’t locate it even w the help of the photos in previous finds. Might come back again.
We stopped here and looked at the artwork around town. Quite impressive. I then saw thus cache close by so decided to quickly grab. TFTC
Good to see this one still in play. Appreciated the maintenance. That’s my daily done
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 97. Ayr Day 1. For my first day in Ayr, I set my eye on five cache to the north and in Ayr itself. I failed one, and I decided one was too far away, but the rest went well. I also did a tour of the Burdekin Machine preservation site in Brandon. A very impressive collection that would be great to see on a day everything is going on their show days.
I first sent too long hunting on the ground before seeing the cache coogoola left right in front of me. It would have hit me if it could.
Thanks for the cache Newcacher#2

Found with tassie expat while exploring this interesting area. After short search and reading previous logs success. Thanks
We enjoyed our stop and walk around Ayr. Had to resort to previous logs...will blame our blindness on lack of caffeine. TFTC
On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC Newcacher#2

After a good search on/in the tree and leaf litter, we decided to replace to keep this cache in the game. Replaced with bison hanging in tree. Coongoola & Geodog are on an adventure after attending the Townsville Mega event in Qld. We found your cache today 28 April 2022 10:09 am , while enjoying another day out adding to our tally. TFTC Newcacher#2
What can I say, the CO NEEDS TO AT LEAST check and post information about the cache
On our trip into Ayr, we decided to stop and take a break here. A few clouds meant that it was a little more cool than previously and it was a lovely opportunity to stretch our legs and get some fresh air in Ayr.
The main road was bustling and this town seems to be quite alive.
Thanks Newcacher#2

Day 16 of my cycling trip from Toowoomba to the Townsville Mega event. Today I am cycling from Bowen to Ayr, 120km.
There is a good Easterly wind blowing today so I should be able to move along quicker than usual.
Unfortunately I didn't find it

No find today. Tries BOT, ITT and UTT. Nice ride from Molongle today, cycling northwards.
Out caching with a family friend finally having a little bit of luck in the Burdekin. Poor lorikeets were falling out of the sky. TFTC
Another quick find in a logical spot.
Once more we are on the road today continuing our journey north. Today we are leaving Bowen and making our way towards Townsville, stopping as we are able to grab any accessible caches that pop up on our way.
Thanks go to all the local, and the few not so local, CO’S for placing the caches for us to find. Without you we would have no pursuit to take part in. We appreciate your efforts, and thank you for your time.

Grey Nomads travelling around Australia - more recently, just Queensland, and of late, Airlie Beach to Ayr & Home Hill. Arrived Home Hill, planted the geo-van and set off for a drive around HH and Ayr with my Garmin showing me the way. Some we found, some we didn't.
I had postcard ready to post at the nearby establishment, so was able to multi task at this cache. Thanks for the hide Newcacher - I left a Toucan behind

Inevitably on a long trip when many geocaches are being found, some get missed. Unfortunately, at the time, this was one of them. So, although out of chronological order, I am logging them today for simplicity. So my apologies for the generic log and the out of date sequence.
Our trip commenced on Friday November 28th and concluded on Tuesday December 22nd. During that time, we visited caches in Maryborough, Childers, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Sarina, Mackay, Bowen, Townsville and Cairns, with other places in between like Proserpine, Home Hill, Ayr, Ingham to name just a few, with many wonderful single stop caches along the way.
Our party consisted of myself, hatzofff, grannysmith1947, and on occasion, youngoldfella.
Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC, Newcacher#2.
