Stayed overnight and grabbed it in the morning. Amazing views and great camp spot. Thanks for the cache
If anyone is in the area could they please check and replace if necessary to keep this cache which was placed in 2002 alive. Thanks Liz and Bruce
Had a thorough search of the area. Unable to locate the cache today. Might need checking on. Lovely early morning drive and definitely worth the detour.
Tftc. Quick find. A bit hazy today. Camping overnight here. Might be clearer in the morning.
Ocw the Bebes as we stay in PA. So glad we drove out to this spot. What amazing views. Cache was a quick find and in good shape. Tftc
OCW PelDroedGwin and geodog Peppa Staying at Spears Creek we took the very scenic drive up to Hancocks Lookout. A stunning spot ! Tftc
On an adventure with Boston my geohound from Canberra to Port Augusta via Geelong for my Dad's 80th birthday staying for a few days and today decided to go to Quorn and Wilmington .... love the history here, what great views here saw this cache and had to get it. An easy find so signed the log and placed back for next person to find. Tftc Liz and Bruce gets a favourite point from me
TFTC Been here several times before and love the view. Breezy today and therefore no flies which is a bonus. Took trackable and will leave at another place. Im not sure how to see where these trackables have been!

Mr Tardis was out for an adventure bike ride through some back roads and tracks around Orroroo and surrounding areas. As previously arranged, I brought a replacement container to help out the cache owners who are not in the state at the moment. The old container was removed and the new one relocated on the public side of the fence. This is a nice ride along the road and you are rewarded with some magnificent views. I would have never known about this location if not for the cache.Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Liz and Bruce.
Quick find while passing through the area.
Great view. Cache container broken and could do with replacing ASAP.

This is an 2002 cache so please could someone help out with the maintenance required. We will be back in SA in 2023 and will look at some new coords for the cache as well but it will need help before that. We are currently in Europe.
Short hike over the fence to grab the cache. Not so sure if the land owner has approved. Cache is suffering the effects of the sun an has cracked letting in a lot of water. TFTC
Amazing views from here but did not feel rught jumping any fences. The sheep can keep the hill climb. Beautiful baby lambs about. Brrr frosty this morning. Maybe consider bringing cache on this side of the fence.

Staying a couple of nights in nearby Wilmington and friends asked us to visit their camp at Hancock's lookout. So we obliged and headed to their camp-site. On arrival, after pleasantries, checked the map and was pleased to see a cache only 125M away. Excused myself from the group and went for a short wander and soon found a cache in an obvious spot for the area. Signed the log and replaced it all as found. Wandered back to the group to continue our nibbles and drinks.
Gratias pro cache Liz and Bruce

I siting this amazing lookout for the first time. There’s a cache here, of course . TNLN TFTC
Not ok with going on private property so passed on this one. A lovely place, great views.
Did not feel comfortable jumping someone's fence to get this cache. Should be moved to the general area so we aren't trespassing on private property...
Found with Natasha. Fun find after a nice camp and hearty pancake breakfast. What a view!
A nice detour out to this lookout. I came here about 10 years ago before I started caching with my family. A quick find was had here once we jumped the fence
Today I started off in Peterborough and caches my way around the back roads in the northern area before finishing of the day with a bit of caching with Davidwazza near Wilmington and his event before making the drive home. A total of 89 caches for the day.
Thanks for the cache

Found on a very dusty day that you couldn't even see Pt Augusta from here. Luckily I have been here before and seen the view. I may have found this cache before as well. Took a while to find it - too many suspicious piles of rocks. Took the trackable that has been left here. May take it to Geoventure 2020 if the event is not cancelled due to the spread of the Corona virus. TFTC
Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
After leaving Whyalla this morning, we are now concentrating on caches "on the other side of the mountains" which is what I have temporarily called my current list. We don't stop on highways for drive-bys, preferring Park and Grabs off the road in rest areas at least, anywhere suitable to pull off with the caravan. Gonna camp here the night. What a fantastic view, can't wait till sunset.
Quick find by Mr D in a stunning location. Left a beautiful geocoin to continue its journey.
Thanks Liz and Bruce, cache is in great condition

Fabulous views from here. Had to wait for a few muggles to disappear first, though. TFTC
Fantastic view from this site - so glad we came up here to explore. A quick scramble under the fence and a race down the hill kept the kids very happy! TFTC
We have been travelling since January when we left Geelong and travelled up the centre to Alice then Darwin. We crossed the border into WA at the start of May and completed the Gibbs river road which has been one of the highlights so far
From Broome we travelled to cape leveque to find the best beach ever
From Broome we have then zig zagged from coast to inland to make sure we saw as much as we could
We are travelling along at our own pace and so will cache and see as much of the area as we can
Honestly it’s thank to caching that we get to see so much
TFTC
We have decided to stop in port Augusta for a few days as it seems to always be a place we drive straight through on our way back and forth up and down the centre

Quick walk with the geoschnauzer, easy find despite the compass on the phone not being too good. Have to cross a barbed wire fence to get to it.
Wow what a view!!! Geohubbie went to get this one as I dont think he trusts me around barb wire and rocky slopes. I give it my favourite point although my 'mountain goat in training ' hubbie (he thinks you need training in being a mountain goat to get this one' reckons there should be an antifavourite point button as the gps had him doing more searching than necessary. Thanks so much for bringing us to see this amazing view. TFTC
slowly making my way back to Adelaide from a long weekend holiday in whyalla. quick find. I also detoured here since i was targeting the old caches in this trip, this is the 9th, 2001 or 2002 cache of the trip. I did enjoy the view and took a few pics.
Geocache number 13 on our continent spanning honeymoon adventure. Foragingforvegantreats. What a view!
TFTC 3rd DNF for the day Sign saying not to go onto private property would of jumped the fence except a couple of caravans were camped for the night I missed a old cache in SOUTH AUSTRALIA bad luck next time thank you Lizz and Bruce
A 300km round trip for 15 finds and no DNF’s, a beautiful day for caching. Pt Pirie-Wirrabara-Booleroo Centre-Willowie-Wilmington then thru Horrocks Pass and
home again down National H/way
Drove past the Drive, Drive Drive hide and left for another day. Been here before with family visiting from the Netherlands back before geocaching existed. A magnificent view. Thanks for the hide Liz and Bruce

We didn't go over the fence into private property to find it. Trying to teach my children to respect and abide by etiquette for people's property.
What a fantastic view - you could see for miles today [^].
Stopped at this great location for morning lunch and weren't here long when the landowner turned up . He was checking the fenceline and we started talking to him [^]. He let us know how they had to stop the camping up here, as the place was being trashed, damaging the fences and gates, people lighting fires right against the dry grass and staying for weeks on end . He went on checking the fence and gate before heading back home to the farm .
Went and signed the log book after he'd left, but we suspect he wouldn't be too happy if he knew there was a cache stashed on his property [:(!].
TNLNSL.
Thanks Liz and Bruce.

Owl's parents are hosting visitors from the USA and Owl has been appointed tour guide. This meant a trip north to 'the outback', but the Flinders was as far north as she was prepared to go. It did give the opportunity to take a different road and so find some different caches. This was one of them, though it nearly didn't get done, due to a relatively new barbed wire fence that now separates the lookout from private property (and the cache).
While I travelled around Australia,
I also found this nice cache.
Thanks for it!

After much debate if we should cross the fence in the long grass we did and found it
Found....great views but concerned about needing to cross over a barb wire fence
Very disappointed to travel up for this cache to discover we had to climb a barbed wire fence to get the cache. Not in keeping with the spirit of geocaching so we left it unfound.

I remember coming here around 30 years ago. It was just a dirt track and there were no caches around then. Had to bring hubby here to show him the views and find a cache. Magnificent. TFTC
Hi Liz and Bruce signed your cache today on our way home from a trip across the Simpson Desert and then Finke Desert race. Paul told me about this great a bit remote lookout he had found many years ago. I was surprised to see you had found it to and placed a cache here. Thanks for that. Hope you are both well. TFTC
too cold and windy for the boss so the lacky (and driver) had to collect.
great views on a wet and windy day
the slippery road was interesting

Like several others, I was surprised at the need to climb over the fence, into private property. However, with the aid of some steps we were carrying, I made it safely and logged my visit. tftc.
What a genuinely great location fir a cache! Never been up here before and thought we would see if there was a cache! Thanks Liz and Bruce.
Having just had a knee injury which left me on crutches climbing a fence to get to a cache is out of the question. Surprised that a cache is on private land. Close but technically not found.
A fence, a car load of tourist muggles, what to do? We finally just climbed over the fence casually and set off to find the cache. Luckily we were out of sight of the tourists so all was well.
Thanks Liz and Bruce
Thanks Liz and Bruce
Staying at Stony Creek for a few days and today was our first to go exploring and to find a few caches.
Had a lovely drive up here and arrived at the lookout and realised we would have to climb over the fence. While we were contemplating how and where a car load of tourists arrived and stayed and stayed so in the end we just found a place to get over the fence and headed off to GZ. [?]
When we arrived they couldn't see us so we found the cache, signed the log, replaced it, admired the views and just nonchalantly wandered back towards our car.
The muggle tourists didn't seem to be the least bit interested in what we were doing. [^]

A beautify location and with all the recent rain the crossings were all flowing with water. made for some fun on the way in. TFTC
Private property is not my scene when the notes do not suggest that permission had been granted. I did not venture over. Oh well, I was only here for the Hancock's Lookout as that is the name I was born with!
Busted this puppy, with Sea Reason, and showed a couple of muggles what the game's about. They will probably become geocachers.
Left nothing, took nothing.

This our first stop and 1st cache on our trip up the middle and across to W.A. Stayed 2 nights to enjoy the fantastic views. Mr. Wombat got this one. T.F.T.C.
1:25:00 PM. Continuing our road trip to SA and on to WA. No rush just grabbing caches along the way. Makes for slow going sometimes. Driving in to this one we wondered if we had done the right thing. With caravan in tow it seemed to go forever. Once there what a view. 2 other campers thought the same. We would have stayed the night but needed supplies so after I worked out away over the fence I went in search of the cache. An easy find out of sight. Signed log and all good. Was sorry we had to leave. The sky and town lights up there at night would have been great. A spot I am sure we will return to. Well worth the drive in and the road was good for gravel. Thanks Liz and Bruce for placing this cache.
Day thirteen of my holidays, and a day of caching rather than travelling. Today I headed into the Flinders Ranges a little bit - I've been here before and loved the area. After finding my chosen ones, I picked a few in a different direction before heading back to Port Augusta. After doing the previous cache, I thought I'd check out the nearby lookout. I enjoyed the drive in, despite the occasional blind bend on the crests. Once at the lookout and checking out the fantastic views, I thought "someone should place a cache here". A quick check showed that they had. Like the previous logger mentioned, the cache is on private property. But it was easy to find.
My thanks to Liz and Bruce for the cache and for the wonderful views.

Unfortunately this one eluded us today as there were some pesky muggles enjoying the sunset also (can't blame them I guess) PennyWiseGang to return on another day
We went to this lookout with amazing views. We did not upload a cache in our GPS'r but felt there could one up here. As we had internet reception here with made a cuppa and meanwhile installed the laptop. YES! A cache, so quickly uploaded the details in the GPS'r. Hm, a fence do we need to jump the fence or not? We had a look along the fence but nothing there so decided to be naughty and go over the fence. After a little scramble we found the cache in good condition. Thanks for another marvelous cache location Liz and Bruce.
First for the day after camping here for the night and watching the beautiful sunset. Thanks.
This is a personal milestone, cache 1500! And this is the story of how it came to be:). We attended the JLWE at Cleve missing out on the NAGA to one other team Lol. After a great weekend of dragging my own GDA, we stopped o'night at Elliston visiting my cousin, then this morning went via Wudinna for coffee, then Kimba to see an uncle. After a quick cache we left about 2pm aiming for petrol at Port Augusta, then find a camp south of Quorn at Mount Brown....unfortunately times have overtaken the camp and its no longer available to sleep. Backtracking on dusk to Quorn we headed for Wilmington with the Camps Australia book open. We looked for a likely spot finding it about 7ks south of the town. A bit rough coming in, and collided with a roo( still haven't checked out that damage) to finally arrive in the dark at a windy lookout over the gulf. Luckily I noticed the cache here, and its Liz and Bruce, so hopefully it means a good camp! After setting up and with hot soup and port in my tummy went looking for the cache. Horrors! It's badly damaged and everything is wet. Here comes the best part! Thanks to D&E&V at the JLWE I've come away with a painted sistema, with log book, swag and pencil ready to go! The perfect size to swap this into. So now I'm sitting on a rock, overlooking the gulf, with the wind at my back writing this log. Thanks Telstra for 3G and Geocaching ap, and Liz & Bruce for the cache, and D&E&V for the replacing container! I'll go home happy tomorrow after having a very enjoyable weekend, and having reached 1500 caches. TFTC. tNSL and left new swag, container and own il!
