Good little find put my hand up there to balance and whoops right on to the cache
Was hoping to keep finding a few more of these but I’ve not had much luck lately. This one however was in place and found pretty quickly. Just after placing back a photographer with a lens that GC Diver may envy walked past chased by 2 council mower operators. Another nice spot by the river.
A perfect day for a walk. It is great to be back visit in Townsville for a couple of days and to have this beautiful mild weather.
We could see a likely hiding place as we arrived at GZ, and soon had our name added to the log here.
Thanks
Domsky

Getting a few on this side of the river and adding more smiles to my map, also trying to hit my 50 finds. Tftc.
I needed some exercise; too much sitting in the car, so parked near the bridge and set out for a walk along the river. Walked about 7.5 kms. Quick find and I signed GW, as I did for some other caches along the river. TFTC GeocachingTownsville.
Great Northern escape 2022 Day 14. Townsville post Mega section Day 2. For my last day in Townsville, I joined TikvaNZ for another section of the Ross River power trail, with a bit of on and off again rain and a closed section we did pretty well. After that I set myself a list of puzzles and other non -trad caches to find for the day, which all took a lot longer than I expected, not to mention the ongoing rain all day. It has been a wonderful time in Townsville, and I have many more caches to get, so hopefully I will get to pass through again later in the year.
Thanks for the cache GeocachingTownsville

Day 14 of a 3 week holiday driving from Canberra to Townsville and back to attend the Mega. This morning Albida33 and I did some more of the Ross River Power Trail by bike/scooter. Apart from having to skip 4 due to being fenced off, all caches we attempted were soon found. TFTC.

Out caching with Team Crackers, Micaparamedic and Geoturtle37 today. We had hoped to hire bikes to do this but the rain seems to have washed that idea away.
Please excuse the generic logs but we have over 2000 caches to log. We all had a fabulous time searching for and find these caches. Thank you for all the work that has gone into placing this series and now maintaining them all for our enjoyment.

Fun, adventure, travel, history, geology, mental stimulation, social gatherings, support and friendship are just some of the elements of geocaching.
Out and about enjoying the opportunity to grab a few caches, yours being one of those I targeted on my journey today. Thanks ??
Thanks GeocachingTownsville (F=33 H=101) for placing this cache and adding to our game.

Catching up with late logs.
Today we were out and about caching with Geoturtle37, Papi4506 & micaparamedic planning an easy day with some sight seeing and some targeted targeted caches that we wanted to get.
When we left Melbourne we had plans of hiring push bikes and doing this entire series but it seems that we are all made of sugar and would dissolve if we get wet so the rain put paid to this plan. Today we were just picking up a selected few.
We approached this one and were very happy to see the terrain rating as the skies had just started to open up again and we were even happier when the container was found in the first place we looked. We quickly signed the log before returning it as found.
To save room in the smaller logs we signed as "The Vics"
Thanks once more Geocaching Townsville for the cache.

Looks like I missed a treat not attempting this power trail on an electric death trap. Not going to finish the trail today but its an option for my next trip to Tvlle, TFTC GeocachingTownsville.
On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird or Angry Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC GeocachingTownsville

During the Easter long weekend, it was all about the Townsville Mega event! Highlights included a hike at Cape Pallarenda Conservation Peak, walks atop the local mountains of Mount Stuart, Castle Hill, and Mount Louisa, checking out a few shady spots along Ross River, sewer pipe / tunnel adventures, and a scuba dive to see the Museum of Underwater Art at John Brewer Reef. The Mega events themselves were fantastic: Gadget lab caches, GPS maze, trivia night, tree planting CITO, and Cal's Escape Room. There was also plenty of geocaching to be had, such as power trailing through the geoarts The Saint and the Book, and the collection of challenge caches at Bushland Beach mudflats. My view of Townsville had completely changed from my trip experience, and much kudos to the Cache Qld Townsville Mega Committee.
Our next area of interest for e.gregory1 and I was some of the more interesting Ross River Power Trail (RRPT) geocaches along Riverway Drive. With no boat TOTT with us, our scope remained to those that could be accessed by land. We took a walk up the path, and found this geocache along the way, with it not taking too long to find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. We decided to sign the geocache as DWEG1 (Davidwazza and e.gregory1) to save space in the logbook. Thanks GeocachingTownsville for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

In Townsville, hit the trails with beckNmonts and Earthbound Chief. Found this one along the way.
Day 15, no pattern to today, started heading towards the book series and then random caches along our travels. A fun day.

Found while in Townsville to attend the Mega event.
I travelled up from Adelaide, taking a week or so so get here, meeting up with FeatherWaite to do some caching around the Cunnamulla area then continuing on to Barcaldine and Charters Towers.
While in Townsville I teamed up with Budgietas, Stainless-steel-rat and Gooseandegg on some days, including a day on Magnetic Island, and with Davidwazza at other times. When caching with Davidwazza, logbooks were signed DWEG1.
All in all it was a great week or so in Townsville, with plenty of great caches found.
Thanks GeocachingTownsville for the cache.

Found with BecknMonts while out using our electric scooters. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon when we found most of the cachers that we went for.
A fantastic scooter ride around the river resulted in some caches today! Thanks for the caches GeocachingTownsville.
We found RRPT - Rossiter Park while on our saintly pursuits in FNQ. ...we are glad we have finally made it here.

Visiting Townsville for the MEGA Event and our group Tour de Ville - Patrol14, TMZ59, Peppa and me had a busy day of caching with Davinells and we were also celebrating Patrol14's birthday. Quick find, log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC
Day 12 of the trip from Perth to Townsville.
Today was a quick trip down from Charters Towers to get the only appointment available to replace the windscreen before doing a few caches here and there around Townsville. After booking in to the cabin went for another short caching run before doing some shopping.
Cache found without problems. Log signed and cache returned as it was found.
Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for geocachers to find.

It’s day 6 and another opportunity to team up with the Tour de Ville gang. TMZ59 was at the wheel, her ability to pick the perfect line is second to none. Peppa was in the front on planning and itinerary, but he changed it before we even arrived at the first cache! That left me, patrol14 and Imbunda to fight it out in the back seat.

Today was a quick trip down from Charters Towers to get the only appointment available to replace the windscreen before doing a few caches here and there around Townsville. Had decided to do a walk around some of the RRPT but it got too hot for a long walk so cut the number of caches attempted down to a shorter number.

Sixth day of our trip to Townsville for the MEGA and we (Peppa, TMZ59, Imbunda and I - TDV-TIPP) are making today a very special day as it's my birthday. What better way than a 4klm hike at 6am to start it off. Also got a sunrise thanks to Davinells.
My day is getting better with an FTF and cache to fill my 4th loop of my DT grid.
Stopped nearby to grab this cache. SL then returned as found.

Another day in Townsville, another piece of Geoart… Today it was the book Geoart… tick…
Afterwards we’re collecting both random and not so random caches…
With TMZ59 back at the wheel of the Habanero Sport, we’ve made room for Davinells in the back seat, and to stop the fighting I’m up front navigating… well most of the time…
A nice quick find while signed the Challenge closeby…
Tftc… log signed Tour de Ville and Davinells…

I had a few hours this morning before I had to drive home and had the mountain bike packed so decided to do some of this trail, I didn't have time to finish it so will be back another day.
Overall I liked the array of different caches with some being an easy ride all the way to the cache and others needing some tree climbing/fishing ability.
Most of the caches and logs were in good order.
Many thanks to the CO's for placing.

We woke up to another great morning with clear sunny skies and light winds so decided it was a great day to go for a ride along the Ross River. The added bonus of series of caches on both sides added to the attraction.
The trails were well formed and flat to undulating and the cache styles varied. Some tree climbs we had a go at where we could spot the cache and others, discretion was the better part of valour! Some we just didn’t bother to try! We managed an Earthcache and qualified for a challenge.
At one stage we spotted a Johnstone crocodile while searching for a cache near the water. Heard 3 others splash in as we approached. Then around the corner we saw turtles and later in a scrubby area quite a few wallabies. Water birds were also quite common.
At the furtherest point where we crossed the river for the return journey we came across a cafe where we were able to sit and enjoy a coffee.
All in all, a great day out with some good caching. Feeling a little tired as we are writing these logs, but what a great day out.
Our thanks to the local COs for developing and maintaining these caches. It is much appreciated.
