Saw this cache had been unloved for a while so I decided to come out and find a couple along the fire trail. Took me a few of mins to get to the right spot but the cache was soon spotted. Thank you Tankengine for the cache!
Found on an evening stroll around Gordon. Love the views from this track. Not surprised to read about the snake encounter - have to really keep an eye out for them in long grass and on rocky outcrops. I read that log entry after making the find - I would have definitely been a bit nervous if I'd read it beforehand!

Since I was out this way I thought to grab this . Today I have been tromping thur tall grasses and the thought of snakes has been on my mind.’ I started the climb up to the rocks , and walked around them and the compass not settling. I read some logs and that got the wind up me. A brown snake,,, I’m here on my own… hmmm I look over there and spotted the cache, ever so carefully grabbed it , signed and placed it back.
Made my way down without an incident.. all is well.

The weekends spring weather has been great for getting out. So with dty73 we made our way down south for a couple of caches we both had yet to find, to escape our lockdown lives for our allocated exercise. Plenty of exercise opportunity starting off with the staircase of all staircases to warm up on!
A little too much excitement before even the first cache, not just a snake but a rather large energetic one at that. Luckily dty73 has a spring in her step and flexibility in abundance as the snake by her feet struck out far and high... and she lept further and higher... and faster!
One of those moments you dread but she totally nailed the moment with style!
A slight change of direction to continue the last short distance to the cache. Where it was easily spotted which was nice and a little look had it cleared for a quick log sign! Thanks for the cache Tankengine, I'm sure the views are quite nice from here but admit to keeping my eyes more towards my feet than out over the views!

Aquilus1 and I wanted to get out and do a good walk which this area provides and there were a couple of caches here we wanted too.
The grass was long and we kept our eyes down as we made our way up, stepping only on the rocks.
Suddenly I saw a big brown snake move in a tangled mess on the rocks beside me, it unexpectedly launched up at me. I never knew snakes could fly and to my surprise I never knew I could fly higher.
Aquilus1 and I got the hell out of there and took a longer way round to GZ. We walked a whole lot slower after that.
Ironically Aquilus1 had given me a gift on the way in the car - a brand new, fancy, snake bite bandage. She told me to pack it in my backpack, so left it on the back seat. Don’t worry, I listened to her now and it’s now coming with me everywhere from now on!
Thankfully and finally at the cache we had no issues. Aquilus1 braved getting low to look under the rock to ensure nothing was keeping the cache company, signed the log then we kept to the fence line where there was less grass and headed off. Tftc and the unexpected surprise Tankengine!!!

Another covid isolation day....another random suburb with a dirty great big hill in it. Today that suburb was Gordon!
Amazing views from the top of that random hill, though I did have to carefully cross two fences.
After the near heart attack, it was on to more suburban ones....with some awesome bridges.
Thanks to all the CO's
Carefully made my way up & down

Back in the ACT unexpectedly to help with my sons sick and pregnant family, I decided that the geodog should “come for a walk” as she wasn’t getting any exercise lately. She was most appreciative, but like your typical Lab, was quite a handful. So after trudging up the hill, of course caching along the way, I spied the location of the GZ. Ok, I wasn’t quite expecting that, it’s going to be interesting getting her up there and through all that! And then, a great, another bunch of rocks . But good luck was on my side this time and I quickly located the hide and completed the relevant duties. Then I took a little time to take in the view. Great location!

Always good caches from you. Quite tricky to spot! Super warm autumn day.

Happy Boxing Day. I don’t do night caching often but tonight with the TheSkype and muggle Duff we went for a walk along the Gordon fire trail to soak up the views of southern ACT and walk around Gordon’s Christmas light shows. On a still night the only prowlers we saw were cats doing their thing and a frog or 2. This cache was a slight walk of trail, TheSkype finding it quickly. Tftc
#3893 Found after a short detour off the track, just need to watch your footing. Great views from anywhere along this trail. Cache in good shape. TFTC.
Visited this cache on my daily cache quest. Was admiring the view as it was, yet higher still I had to go. Found the GZ and the cache.
Thanks again Tankengine for another nice spot to visit.

Found this on a hit but breezy day, had to move one rock tho haha
Also had the pleasure of finding someone's dirty magazine hidden in a hollow log close by hahaha

Absolutely stunning day. Was early for an appointment, decided to fill some time in. What a cracker of a spot. Thanks
Cold, windy, temperature 5ºC, wind chill factor making it feel like -1ºC, up I went on the Mountain bike among some light SNOW flurries. Cache found and signed. In the 30 secs I had my gloves off, my hands got COLD. Back onto the MTB, gloves on and away I rode following the fence line the way I came in. OH, the Glimpses of Gordon, yes, cold and some light snow flurries in the air. Thanks TE.
Today I was joined by Fitzy_1965 and MinnieK for a trip down south. We had a few walks planned, but the Southern ones were aborted due to flooding in the Gudgenby River. We walked up to the Cemetery and then headed to Lanyon Homestead then did several ladder caches around town before dropping MinnieK off and heading home for a indoor evening.

21,268. Found during a caching meander around Canberra with minniek and albida33.
Today we headed out targeting a few select caches covering off various challenges that we are all trying to qualify for. After a few caches near Tharwa we headed back into the suburbs and tried for this one. Oh no - those stairs AGAIN ! Lol. Then came the rocks. Groan. But it was a nice quick find at GZ - Phew. Great Views !!
Thanks Tankengine !!

After an exhausting walk yesterday, fitzy_1965 and I teamed up with Albida33 to grab some 'easier' caches today.
Gee Wizz....climbing those steps weren't helpful after the walk we did yesterday. Gorgeous views and a quick find to boot.

On the way to the top of the hill this was close so headed over. Took a bit of searching but got there in the end. Nice views and a few Roos about. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC.
Having found a nearby puzzle, I wandered down the hill to take a look for this cache. The hint doesn't seem to narrow things down at all, but it is also quite accurate! A few minutes searching in the fading light and I spied the tell-tale sign. Log signed and replaced as found.

Out and About in this area yesterday 25/5/20 placing new caches. Picked this cache up on the way past. Signed DSD TFTC
Had to move one small little rock to access the cache completely! Maybe someone has added it for a little bit extra camo Was glad to have not needed to move any of those large ones however!
This is a nice spot, with some good views, shame the other side of the fence is private as theres some even better hills!
Thanks

Steep little climb I have made before for another cache. Good view of the suburbs from here. Found with Decrypter. Cache and log are good. TFTC Tankengine.
Bit of self isolation escape with Miss Stormcatcher and our new Geo puppy, first time we have been down this end of town in months! Weather was closing in fast and the wind was really kicking up here. On the nice side there was a spectacular rainbow over Mt Tuggeranong
Cache found quickly after a quick dash up the slippery slope. Log signed and I made sure I sanitised the cache container before dashing back to the car as the heavens opened up.

After dropping Commado and his friends at the nearby waterhole for a spot of fishing, I clambered up here for my daily. Rurns out I didn't need to do quite as much clambering but it's all good exercise - right. TFTC te.
A bit of huffing and puffing on a rather warm and windy day. The views were good though
Thanks TE for the cache

I don’t often get to this area so I found took the opportunity to find this cache. I walked over it twice before spotting it. TFTH
My fourth cache for the day around Gordon, after stopping off an another cache on the way I headed up here to tick this one off too. Cache was quite straightforward, and the view beautiful! Thanks for the cache TE!
I think this was published the day after my previous visit to the area! Anyway, returned today in the wind to make a quick find. Always a nice view up here.
Thanks,
Thanks,
Out for a mostly suburban Tuggeranong caching run with Marmaduke Rothschild and contesta. Great views. TFTC.
TFTC lots more f rocks and beautiful views on a clear sunny day with JohnnyBoyACT and Marmaduke Rothschild
A drive around Tuggeranong with JohnnyBoyACT and Contesta for a few caches to-day. Lovely views from here. TFTC
Nothing like being retired and the weather is not throwing blocks of frozen ice at you – caching time. Trusty geobuddy StrangeTrousers – we stamped the logs with our Kayak Cachers team stamp. We headed out for a bit of fun walking up and down the hills and marvelling at the great cachers out there. Ahhh the views some scary and some beautiful. One of the highlights of the day was seeing a tortoise and making sure it was moved off the road before it became roadkill.

#5682 11th for today
Logs signed using our "Kayak Cachers" stamp.
A mixed day weather-wise today. Quite breezy and the temperature varied quite a lot depending on the wind and cloud cover. CC & I were keen to try out some of the new "Haunted Tuggeranong" series, at least those that did not require too much climbing. I think we found a good balance today. I was also keen to plan and use CacheTur for the trip. It's taken quite a bit of learning, but I think I've finally got the hang of it. It should be a fantastic tool for planning future trips.
It was quite a hike up here but the view was worth it. It looks like a new suburb may be under development to the west of here. It took a bit of searching, but we found it eventually.
Thanks Tankengine

Found with The Matetrix. Headed down the hill from an earlier find to pick this one up. Took a few minutes to find before heading back to the geomobile and the drive home. TNLNSL TFTC
Plenty of glimpses today of Gordon ,
Snow on the mountains and icy wind blasts rattling the trees .
Top views and well worth the climb for panorama scene.

Killing time while packing for my road trip, made a quick dash to collect this as its my closest unfound. Took a bit longer than expected to find, but after I read the hint i narrowed down my search as quickly had it. Some very nice views up here... of my house! A bit suspicious...
Thanks Tankengine

Still recovering from the disaster of my last caching trip, I went for an evening bike ride to get this new one that has sprung up nearby.
I had a lovely meander down the Murrumbidgee to Gordon, and the view from the ridge was beautiful.
Thanks for the cache TE!

Cache 5471 on 14 Sep 2019.
After some recent quick trips out for caching, I decided it was time for a proper geocaching mission, so TikvaNZ suggested we work towards the event in Bredbo , which suited me just fine! So we planned to grab a few of the newer TE caches and some solved puzzles along the way. All in all, I got 17 caches, 10 of them Tankengine caches, which was more than I bargained for! A bit more walking and fence clambering than I planned, but hey, that is geocaching! Start at 0730 and home by 1500 - thanks TikvaNZ for a proper day of geocaching!
This cache: after navigating our way over the ditch, we looked in different spots, but TikvaNZ made the find. Great glimpses !

A short walk up the hill on our way back from Tharwa. Certainly good glimpses of Gordon from GZ. Quick and easy find. TFTC Tankengine.
**Our Day**
We decided to do just a few short easy but adventurous walks today to save enough energy for our indoor rock climbing training and 'test' late afternoon to gain our biannual belay passes.
The first walk was down Smith Road collecting two caches. For these we walked a total of 2 kms with a total ascent/descent of 100m. We had good views over the Murrumbidgee. The second walk was up top of Fitz's Hill for some good views back over Mt Tennent and down towards the Nass Valley. This was a 2..4 km walk with a total ascent/descent of 160m.
On our way back home we picked up two puzzle caches and a new traditional cache. It was a relatively cold and overcast day and headed home mid afternoon to prepare for our indoor activities where it would be much warmer.
