WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 99 - Exmouth to Onslow via Nanutarra Road house. I spent the morning doing some caches just outside of Exmouth, including a dramatic gorge road into the ranges. Then the driving really began, and the day was a little longer than most I have been doing recently, but there were not many option on where to stop. I had a brief afternoon stop at the road house, but so was everyone else and the line for fuel was impressive. The last stint into Onslow was a lot quieter on the road and ended at a fantastic little town, with all the amenities you could want to do very little for awhile. I went for a late afternoon walk and headed back to the van to cook dinner. Tomorrow is a day around this region. With a morning sausage roll in hand, I pulled up at the front of the base and had a look at the submarine and wandered over to where the cache was. I found it soon enough, but it needed a but of encouragement to get out. Log signed it all went back and I was off to the gorge. Thanks for the cache iluvtrekking48733.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2015 19,000 Finds A#314**Albida**

A long-cherished dream comes true... A trip to the west and east coast of Australia to experience the fascinating underwater world. Of course, I also have to search for and log a few caches for our family account. Today I went by bike from Exmouth into the "outback" to two traditionals. The ride was a bit tiring in the heat, but the cache was easy to find.

OK..Second try..Whilst found, could not log.I'll explainAfter a long day of at Yardie Creek, boat tour, caching, exploring, we were Knackered to say the least when I decided to try this Cache againThe Thingy IS there, but sitting on the bottomArmed with a Torch, and old coat hanger, have it a good try. Then I tried A Fishing Lure on some line( Mr Ghecko didn't like that) that failedSo then I tried my magnet on a string, that sure didn't workSo give me a break, let me claim it, I sure work hard to get it.But, if ur not happy, then it's ok to delete my FINDTFTC

A tad late logging. Caught my eye on account of Harold Holt - at home there’s a local swimming pool - as comedians like to say, where else in the world do you find a swim centre named after a drowned PM?! Todays missions included checking out the Discovery Centre, Vlamingh Head Lighthouse at sunset and the Jubari Turtle Centre which were all fabulous. The trip is making me think about re-imagining Australian history! Staying at Yardie Homestead for a few days with plenty of time to explore the magic. Have travelled WEST from home base 4200 km away and that includes altitude as well so enjoying the landscape and habitat changes of this BIG country. TFTC and the lure to visit.

27-May-23
Stopped to grab this one on the way back from checking out the Vlamingh Head Lighthouse at sunset and the Jubari Turtle Centre (and after swimming with whale sharks earlier in the day!)
Fascinating history behind the base itself. No laser beams or UFOs for me either - had my colander hat on just in case (kidding!!)
Quick find, log signed and everything replaced as found. TFTC

Staying up in Exmouth for a few days after the eclipse yesterday. Today was a drive around to Yardie Creek, stopping at the lighthouse on the way. And of course a few caches Smile This was one that I stopped off at. Just as I exited the car the giant satellite dish turned around and pointed in my direction... thankfully no laser beam or stream of troops followed. No-one else around so assuming they have bigger things to worry about than the geocache, I carried on and was happy to make a nice quick find. The dish was pointing the other way when I drove back later though so maybe they were checking me out... Wink All ok here today - TFTC

We headed out here to claim this smiley so as to keep our streak going but when we arrived there was a lady selling ice cream! Oh well, for the sake of protecting this cache, we bought ourselves an ice cream each then wandered over to find this cache. I'm sure she never suspected a thing!

Thanks for find #4450

We were on a driving/camping holiday up to Exmouth with a few stops on the way and than camping our way back to Perth. Stopping for some caches along the way.
Found some lovely and learned some interesting things that we wouldn't have stopped to look at if it wasn't for caching.
A great time was had, even though one day our campsite was flooded and we had to move to a new site, many animals crossed our paths including a snake in Exmouth, overall it was a great adventure.

Catchng up on some late logs, now that I am supposed to have time since we are on the road travelling.

We are on the road travelling up through central Australia and down the coast of W.A. This is one of the caches we stopped off to grab along the way.

An impressive area with all the telecomunications towers. Happy to make a quick find here.

Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
