After volunteering at the local parkrun, and breakfast by the pier, we ventured down to this location. As it was still early, no one was around, walked straight to gz and made the find. After a very stormy day yesterday it's good to see the cache is dry.
I came for a CITO, then collected some Adlabs, with some nearby caches thrown in. I used the "where would I hide it" method of searching for this one and I was right on the money. I have a cache hidden in a similar manner, so that also helped. My thanks for the cache, Alansee.
Well that took a lot longer than it should have. Had one of us basically sitting on it while I searched through all the underbrush for about 10 mins
Got the bikes cranking late afternoon for a couple of quickies close to camp. There was someone sitting close to GZ with a dog which was hunting in and out of all he foliage here, so we came back after logging another convenient cache not too far away. Thought this was going to be hard but after a little tooing and froing, came up with the goods. TFTC Alansee.
Found with my oldest son (tbh he was the one that spotted it as well) on the way to pick up a pool table for a friend.Meet some people from the railway who l think were like what are you gentlemen doing at which point l gave them the logistics of geocaching which all seemed quite interested in it.
Having spent the weekend at Ocean Grove, we headed to Portarlington to pick up the soccer prodigy from her training camp. She wanted to have a swim before we headed back to Shepparton, so I grabbed the nearest cache to fill a calendar spot. It was heating up, but thankfully it was a short walk to GZ for a quick find. Not sure when the miniature railway runs but it wasn't running today, a Sunday. It looks pretty cool tho. Nice hide TFTC
After picking up my girl from the soccer camp we thought we would go for a quick dip before the long drive home. Once again TBS had his hands on the cache first. A nice quick find just up from where we had parked the car. TFTC
Quick stop and grab at portarlingtons iconic tiny railway, thank you for the cache Pika 21/12/23
Really fun and great prize but a bit scary in the summer because of snakes but it was safe and Fun
Visiting friends in Portarlington and arrived early so went looking for a few caches. Found the Railway and headed off to GZ. Cache was located, all good and dryTFTC
Beautiful day to look for caches. Relatively easy to find once my GPS settled. Picked up the TB. TFTC.

Toot! Toot!
The Portlar Express is coming! Signal's steaming around awarding faves for all good cachers, and DNFs for all the people on the naughty list.
It's a Cachemas Miracle!
Thanks heaps, Alansee!

Quick find today Thankyou. Should be my older teenage son here. He’d still get a kick out of the trains I reckon
On our way to Point Lonsdale for 2 nights. What a great wee railway - more features than your average! Many thanks
I didn’t come across on the ferry is a group of friends had lunch at the hotel. Excellent. Decided a nice day so take a walk and do a couple. Nice to see one down here by Alan. See nice good clean hide location. Excellent dick condition, so I decided it was worth the travel bug. Thanks for bringing me here.
Hidden very well, had to look around to find it hidden low under a branch
In Geelong for the arvo so stopped in to check this out out while doing some site seeing.
Of course we picked the one Sunday that the train wasn’t running

Out and about down to Portarlington today for a maintenance mission. Of course we took the opportunity to do some finding while we were out and about. Had the youngest in tow, who is now aware this place exists so no doubt we will be returning one day when the trains are running. TFTC.
Clever little hidey..
Out for a walk from Pt Richards to Portarlington with a detour through Point Richards Flora and Fauna reserve.

Jinky and John decided to wander east and have a coffee and pastry at Ket Baker's bakery. Having done that, what should be next? Caching!! We went to check out the changes to the Grand in Portarlington. Impressive, and not too intrusive. OK, so john is a minor gunzel amongst his many faults, so checking the miniature railway was definitely on the card. Coming up on GZ we played the "told you to try it from here" game, but had eventual success. Left a geonickel. Many thanks for the cache.
Today is definitely the day after, the day after the Inaugural Great Cache Crawl. We are pleased to be able to say that we made it from beginning to end and had an awesome time.
Today is a bit of a slower pace.
This was a reasonably quick find considering the muggle factor. We also had two trains to contend with which wouldn't have been a problem except that the kids wanted to have us wave back. After all duties were performed, we were on our way. Thanks for the cache.

After a huge inaugural Great Victorian Cache Crawl yesterday with well over 100 cachers joining the crawl throughout the day, it was time for a more leisurely caching journey today on the way back to Melbourne.
We arrived at GZ thinking the coast was clear only to spot a train coming along the track. We therefore posed as enthusiasts and took photos as the trains drove past and used the time in between to make the quick find.
Thanks Alansee for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

So after years... no, months.. no, weeks... well a couple of weeks planning, it's finally the day.
Not sure where this hair-brained idea came from, but stoked RoamingHowie managed to pull it all together.
The inaugural Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2022. Beginning with Saturday's event at 7am in Phillip Island, we'll be travelling via Lang Lang, Cranbourne East, Devilbend Reservoir, Mount Waverley, Altona Meadows and Lara before finishing for dinner in Queenscliff.
Day Three: The Recovery.
Had to dodge not one, but two trains. Obviously this is why the T rating.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, Alansee

Well the description on the website might take a bit of imagination but they were right about one thing… be whirled away! It’s such a windy morning down here in Portarlington and so, so cold! I didn’t let that deter me though, I made my way to GZ choosing the hardest way with the most obstacles but I found it. Amazingly as I sat down to sign the log nothing blew away. I am truly amazed, it’s just that type of day! Perhaps there is some magic here after all.
After the cache was safely returned I went for a walk around the area. The signal box and station are pretty cool, and I especially like the trains in the garden. Very well done. A bit further on towards the beach there’s a post that says Waldo’s Lookout RIP. I wonder who Waldo was? TFTC

Sunday day trip to Portarlington & St Leonard’s, with geocaching along the way.
Kids enjoyed the miniature train ride too.

Found by Mary and David at at 14:00. Had no idea about this place. The younger grandchildren would love it. Wonderful views across the Bay to the You Yangs and the CBD. Here doing your Ad Labs. A FP added. Our thanks to Alansee.

*Cache find # 12931.*
Today I headed out with buhfuhguh, our main destination being St Leonards to attend a couple of events.
Now the events were over and it was time to start heading towards home but there was time to find a few more caches along the way, our main targets now were the large caches.
This one wasn’t a large but it was the only cache left in the area to find so we went and found it, I do like finding these ones out in the wild.
**Thanks to Alansee for placing this cache.**

Here in the area today visiting a friend. Scoped out the caches in the area. What a cool little railway. Shame it wasn’t running which means I will have to come back some day.
But the amazing thing about caching is that it brings u to places things that otherwise you would never know existed…. This is one of those. Great place for a hide tftc

Today we were meeting the Dromaniax for lunch and a quick loop around the Peninsula grabbing a few caches especially a couple of D/T combinations that we need for our next D/T loop.
While I knew that the Miniature Railway was down here it is an area I have never visited in the past. It was very quiet down this way today which made for a quick and easy find.
Thank you Alansee for placing this for us to find

Quite an easy find. Luckily the area was nice and quiet due to it being a work day
Went for a visit to Portarlington and decided to try and find this cache. What a fantastic surprise to find this location. We had no idea this was there. Thanks for showing us around.
Signed the log and away.

In town to visit family and came for a walk. A pretty quick find here once we let the GPS settle.
I don't think I've ever been down here when the train in running. We'll need to come and actual see it one day.
Thanks Alansee for the cache

Found with Ozcapri on a coolish summer day, nobody around. Thanks for the cache
#1896 Stopping at the nearby Caravan park for a few days and grabbed the treadlies and set off. It was latish afternoon so it was all quiet on the muggle front. Approached from the less obvious side and spotted the cache easily. TNLNSL. Returned to my bike to discover it had fallen over and the stand had broken off (or maybe the stand broke off and it fell over . We continued our ride to the end of the trail before returning to the van for tea. TFTC Alansee.
Found on Boxing Day. Can see where the terrain rating comes in considering it requires a big step across the railway! A very fun cache though, a quick find. Good to see more of these containers out and about considering I attended the same event that this container is from! Used to come here a lot as a kid. TNLNSL. TFTC!
We are on a little mid week getaway (as weekend crowds would freak me out right now lol) staying in Ocean Grove. Today we had to pick something up in Portarlington for JMelb’s sister. After this we set out to do some caches here. We were just approaching GZ when JMelb received an sms from the Dog Groomer saying we could come early if we wished!!! Whoooops… totally forgot Violet the geopup was meant to be having a groom today!! Quick phonecall to change the appointment whilst GMelb extracted the cache from it’s nice hidey hole

Finally came back on a day the train wasn't running. A quick duck in with Aysen as the rain was setting in, he found and I signed. Glad to tick this one off
Out caching on the Queens Bday long weekend with TheLostWanderer004. Decided to make a full day of it and smash out a good chunk of the Bellarine. Such a beautiful part of Australia. Thanks for the hides
Decided to try and turn some of the Portarlington area caches into smileys today.... never actually been to the Mini Railway here before... no muggles so made searching a bit easier.. soon had the cache in hand.... TFTC
On arrival to portarlington for the weekend we brought the dogs down near here for a swim. Oh look a geocache only 150m away. A quick find was made and we were in our way. TFTC
Our final remaining cache in Portarlington and a chance to work off an afternoon icecream. A good spot to search without being seen, but no-one was down this way today anyway. Fortunately a quick find in the first place we looked. TFTC
Headed out with bushfire and Phetlern on this cool (and windy day as it turned out.)
I needed this one so while they waited in their cars out of the wind I walked over to find it. Nicely hidden, signed in then off to find some more around the area.
Thanks for highlighting this miniature railway Alansee

Found while enjoying a walk in the area.
We parked back at the pier and walked along the foreshore to this one.
Actually we didn't even check the app until we reached the railway and saw there was a cache, lucky the cache had a pen!
Thanks for the hide here.

These ones amongst the trees can be quite difficult but this one has a generous size container so that compensates somewhat. Took us a while but it could have been a lot worse with so many options for hiding it. Thanks for this one.
Great spot. Need to watch out for muggles on the weekend as lots of people at the boat ramp
Down this way to take Bailey to the beach for his first time. Sadly we had to leave Stormy at home, maybe next time she can come along. After he had a play and we built sandcastles we found your cache then went for lunch. Tftc
A day out to take the dog for his first visit to the beach and to get some local mussels from the van near the pier. After Bailey had his play it was time to find the cache before lunch. Cache was found nice and easy. Cigc. Tftc
Sean.75 wanted some sort of food from the sea so kenbryl and I came along for the ride. Boofhead has a run on the beach, which was a first for him. While he was frolicking the rest of us made sand castles. Once it was time to go we headed over here to to make the quick find before heading off for lunch. Tftc
An interesting area with the Jetty and the railway. Thanks for replacing this cache as last time it was MIA. A nice easy find Thanks Alansee
