Thanks Nataliec1234 for hiding this cache. Now that my calendar and streak are completed, I can just cache for the fun of it. Your Traditional cache, 83 Years Ago..., was just what I needed to get me out of the house and exercising. This is my find #2061 at 11:21 on 6/10/2024. FTF: Found with: selfWeather: fairMuggles: noneLight level: goodCache condition: goodDistance from GZ: Your cache was visited by my trackables: TB9QQD2, TB9KZ39 and TB7HH81
Found with geomum Sqwash on our roadtrip to Hobart and back to Launceston this weekend.Froze on the way to GZ but easy grab and then ran back to car.
Roadtripping to Hobart and back to Launceston this weekend, we selected a few key geocaches for the trip. We found this one on the way to Hobart. This was a bit of a walk from the parking area, and the wind was super cold today. But once at GZ we found it instantly. Cache was in good condition, Thankyou for placing and maintaining this cache for us to find.
Luckily had no one up close behind me so was able to safely pull off and make the walk to GZ. Not sure what passing drivers thought I was up to. Quick find. TFTC
Izzy has never noticed the Tassie Tigers before today. Thanks for the opportunity to stop and have a glance
TFTC. Cache and contents are in excellent condition. The parking spot is no longer available due to newly installed wire rope. You can now only access when traveling from Hobart to Launceston parking before the start of the wire rope then walk the 100m to the cache.
In Tassie for the next few months. So many great places to visit and so many different caches to find. We've had alovely few day down here in Hobart and along the inlets. Now to start heading back north to our grand children. Picked this up while passing by. Had to park before the new guard rails and walk into GZ where a quick find was made. Thanks Nataliec1234 for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
Quick find as we walked really fast… so cold. It was nice for the dog to stretch his legs . Thanks for the cache.
Very brisk and breezy walk along the back of the wire rope. Thanks for the cache Nataliec1234
Whilst travelling from Hobart to Launceston, I pulled out my phone and was surprised to find this cache. Whilst it was a short walk from the car. It was a quick and easy find.
It is easily the most remote cache I have ever found, it's also my forth tassie find and 50th cache in total!

I’m in Tasmania for a week-long geocaching holiday with some New Zealand geocachers. Today is day 4. I travelled from Hobart up to Launceston, doing some caching on the way with Net61 and SuperNanny.
Feeling slightly nervous about the long grass, we took a walking pole and beat the ground with it to scare away any harmful Australian wildlife!
Thanks for the cache

Not sure this can be safely accessed or if cache still there as roadworks from Mudwalls Rd turnoff to Oatlands.
Hellyonfire shouted stop the car!!!!! She has spotted something through the fog. Some fun was had and we also grabbed a cache. TFTC
Exploring Tasmania with hellyonfire cache by cache. The weather has kept us on our toes and our ears frozen, and we enjoyed every moment. Thanks to all the cache owners for the creative hides and/or great locations.
With geosister H423L travelling to Tassie via ferry from SA
Out doing my 2 favourite things Driving and caching
Very foggy and just saw the tigers and yelled for my sister to stopped the car. Luckily there was a spot to stop. Then we looked to see if there was a cache here and bingo there was.

Of Tasmania’s native species, some are more elusive than others. Fortunately, although not often seen in the wild these days, the subject of this cache can be reliably spotted just west of GZ.
Drove past this one so had to turn around and go back - which was fairly tricky with a very busy highway today. No native species spotted. TFTC Natalie1234.
tassietan and I are out on a caching day and have targetted the Jericho/Oatlands area.
We overshot GZ and had to turn around...not so easy on a really busy highway.
An easy find, but didn't see one endangered species. Still wondering about the significance of "83 years ago" ?

#12717 - 4:50:00 PM; #12710 - 13:10; An impromtu visit to Hobart so the geogirls could attend the Salamanca Markets provided an opportunity for a spot of caching. Noticed this cache on the trip down and made a quick stop to claim the find on the return journey. TFTC Nataliec1234
On our way to Launceston, looking for a few caches on the way, as you do! TFTC Nataliec1234
Down in Tassie for a break before Christmas and continuing our travels around the country, wow the countryside is absolutely glorious. Happy to say we came up trumps here and walked away with a smiley TFTC

I have driven the Midland Highway thousands of times and always wished for something more interesting.
That is back home in Victoria.

Thanks for this cache strategically placed which gave us a break along the way north, and for Muggle Hubby to have a spell from driving, whilst dalerious located the cache and I took photos of the lovely scenery.
Love the sculptures in the paddock. Found the cache after a bit of a search. Well worth the stop. Tftc
The last for today as time is getting on and I am due home. All is in order at GZ TFTC
On the way back over the border and into the north west, so grabbing a few drive-bys whilst we can. This one and another further up the road seem like a good idea. Thylacines were no bother today and everything is in good order. TFTC Natalie1234.
Again, I am glad that was a quick find, the cold wind is getting stronger and colder! TFTC

We made a quick stop here while on our way north for lunch, because why not? It was nice and sunny although the breeze was a bit cold.
A quick find was made at the GZ as something looked a bit suspicious sure enough there it was.
Logbook was nice and dry. Thanks

There is already a geotrail starting to develop to this one.
Picked up the cammo to access the container and something slithered in under it. Not to worry though as it was only a little lizard and they definitely aren't a threatened species!!!
Thanks, having travelled from the NW coast to Hobart many times there aren't that many caches for us to find along the way so we always appreciate any new ones.

We found this cache after a day trip to Hobart for work & finally returning to the NW before dark means we have time to collect some geocaches along the way. Thankyou for this cache!
Suscoe was heading north today with our final goal being Devonport.
It was a clear day with loads of sunshine.
The temperature got to around 24 degrees as the day wore on but the breeze kept things pleasant.
We enjoyed our trip today and found a good range of caches and even got to chat with a local farmer along the way.
We have been amazed at the wonderful countryside that we have seen as we have travelled around Tassie, it has been a terrific two week visit.
Thanks to Naraliec1234 for this stop on the highway.

A nice quick find as I make my way to Launceston for the days work.
Apart from the traffic, it was quite nice standing in the shade looking out over the paddocks.

Long day completing the Apple Geoart trail, checked into our overnight accommodation and found just enough energy to grab some quick PnGs around town before dinner. Busy road but kept the engine running while J+J quickly dashed between traffic to make the quick grab. May have been safer coming the other way.
Mizmaz and I are staying in town tonight and grabbing a couple of caches before night fall.
Once at GZ a quick find was made.

Heading up to Launceston for a CITO and 'normal' event today so we decided to find all the 'new' ones on the way. We stepped around an undistinguishable carcass (not a tiger) and over to GZ. A quick find in this little oasis then it was onward through the thick smoke.
Thanks Nataliec1234

out and about with the Rafas caching this was in line for a smiley, nice afternoon no wind or rain only sunshine. TFTC TNLN log dry. we were thinking the 83 was the number of years since the tiger was seen in Tasmania alive?.
Hi Nataliec1234, thanks for the cache.
RLD4963 and I decided to go for a drive this morning, to find this cache and a few other new ones nearby. We loaded the GeoGSP in the car and headed off. A lovely drive to GZ, and the nearby sculptures are wonderful. I can remember when Thylacine's were officially declared extinct - which occurs when there has been no official sighting of an animal in 50 years. I would love to think that there are still some thylacine's out there - I just wish people would stop looking for them, because if they are found, I'm not sure that they could then be successfully protected.
The whole series of heritage sculptures along the Midlands is great, there seems to be a new one pop-up every couple of drives up north.
A quick find at GZ, thanks so much for adding caches to the area, it's great to have an excuse to stop along the highway.
