#23131 @1125Day 3 of an 8 day trip: Drive from Canberra to Melbourne, then by air to Flinders Island, Launceston, King Island, and back to Melbourne, then drive back home to Canberra. Today, I was targeting counties, preferring to also find caches with certain attributes (e.g. size) to help with various personal goals. Cache soon found. TFTC.According to [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8D7B8/44872 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") I qualified for this challenge with 2387 regular sized caches found (1000 needed).

**15/02/2024, 12:27:00****Find #5678****Mystery Find #1086**I needed a challenge cache today to help me qualify for a particular challenge and this was the closest to home. I made a concerted effort this year to qualify for this cache and needed a trip down to Cape Schanck as well as a couple of other caches in Langwarrin to get me over the line. I've long exhausted all the other regular size caches that were closer to home.I found this cache in a logical place which was fortunate because I DNF'd the next challenge cache I tried for which was just up the road.31/01/2024 5:01:41 PM[biggles1024](https://www.geocaching.com/profile/?u=biggles1024) has used [Project-GC](https://project-gc.com/Challenges/GC8D7B8/44872 "Project-GC Challenge Checker") to see if they qualified for this challenge and they did.User has 1001 finds (1000 needed).Filters:( sizes (Regular) )**Thank-you to Pinkpiggy7 for placing this geocache**

Find #13857
After an icy and somewhat rainy parkrun in Pakenham, I headed out to see if I could complete the Kara-te series and a number of solved puzzles in the area.. It was a fail on that due to 1 Kara-te DNF, but I did have a good day out.

Going back through my signed Challenges...
When I ran the checker not long after this Challenge was published, I was only three quarters of the way there.
Celebrating n0w0rries' 6000th find by logging as many types as we could get, I signed the log, bit still had 140-odd to find.
And when I checked today... well, I've overshot the mark by pushing ten percent.
So it looks like I qualified in late September last year.
Thanks, Pinkpiggy7, for the incentive to scale up my searches.

This was a cache I had signed just over two years ago but was a long way away from qualifying for it.
A lot of caches have been found since then and I’ve now ticked over the hurdle and qualify for this cache.

Left with Mogni the day before Christmas to go down to Mount Gambier for Christmas Day. Then on the 27th left for Victoria. Plan A was to go to the Ottway Rangers, complete the Geo tour in Ballarat and then head to Geelong and take the Queenscliff ferry over to Sorrento then grabbing new LGA's on route to almost the New South Wales/Victoria border and the old 2001 cache near there. Also attending a community day event, a CITO and a couple of other events as well. Then head in to the high country and come back to SA in 11 days. Things didn't go to plan. Turns out that one of my almost new tyres was defective ( side wall blown out ) and blew in the ottway ranges on a narrow road in the rainforest, Drove to Melton to stay overnight and get a new tyre there, tyre machine broken and the other 5 tyre companies not open so off to geelong for a new tyre ( and some caches on the way and in geelong ) . The event we where going to attend in geelong didn't turn out, he was late by ALOT to his own event. Then to ballarat to same day since we had a b&b booked for the next few nights. Planned on getting the ferry at 1200 and ended up on the 400 pm ferry but we did attend a event and CITO in geelong. Then we drive into the rear end of a thunder storm with forecast 20 mm dropping for the next few days. Cancel the high country and change targets to letterbox D/T for fizzy grid only using letterboxes and same wirh the multi fizzy grid plus fizzy grid only using victorian caches plus any challenge caches we where near. Plus getting a few more victorian 2001 caches. And finally any caches that had 40 more more favourite points. Only got soaked to the bone for a couple of days but the water on the tracks was noticeable. On the return home tried to get the rest of the missing LGA's around the Melbourne CBD i missed in the last mega. Still a fun trip was had if not the planned one.

FREE AGAIN, well, sort of
Decided to go out to chase a couple of challenge caches this morning and tucked in just behind a rain band so I managed to stay nice and dry.
Just as I was making the crab a police car drove by, dang, I was hoping they would pull over and question me, never been sprung by the cops before

Having signed the log I wasn't so sure if we qualified considering regular sized caches aren't so common when we need to find somewhere for a trackable. On checking today I was pleased to see that we have qualified, not with a great margin, but qualified all the same. Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for the challenge.

At the start of last year I signed this cache and supposedly still had 61 regular cache finds to go. Just looking through my stats and I realize that I now qualify for the challenge, having found over 100 regular sized caches in the last 12 months.

Out today caching with Brainiac03 with the intention of clearing out cardinia reservoir and some nearby multis through the day.
This was one of the challenge caches that I sadly do not qualify for at the moment but hopefully will change that soon.

Today, buhfuhguh and I were out on another caching run, this time in the Upper Beaconsfield/Emerald region with a focus on passing by Cardinia Reservoir before the weather started to heat up and our battle plan was forced to change.
A very hot day for geocaching but still a lot of fun (and nothing that the Astra's air con couldn't handle) filled with plenty of fantastic finds along the way!
Well, I don't quite qualify for this one just yet.
Add it to the slowly growing pile of "don't quite qualify for these ones" and wait to gather another 784 regular sized caches!
All was well with the hide and it was tracked down quickly.

With the Covid-19, 4 reasons to leave home restrictions lifted and now being able to travel in a 25k radius it is time for a bit of caching. We had not started on the modern wonders of the world souvenir so we were selectively caching today whilst we were collecting some labs. We were heading to Emerald Lake and saw this one pop up on screen. The cache was found where we thought that it would be and we added our name to the log.

And here I was thinking that I was so clever.
I have driven past this spot so many times and often thought it looked like a great place to put a cache. Today, I had just received a text from a customer and so had to pull over here and reply to it. After doing that I wondered over to the spot and peered inside, not surprised to see a geocache inside. I figured it was probably the final for a puzzle cache that I hadn't solved, so I signed the log took a photo and replaced it before moving on.
Finally at home I decided to have a quick look to see which cache I had found and low and behold its a challenge cache that must have got published when I wasn't looking and on top of that I don't qualify for, so end up not being so clever and I guess it might pay for me to check my local maps more often.
TFTC, only 61 more regulars to find....

We do so love a Challenge cache and so this one was on our target list of caches to search for today. The cache was quickly located once at Ground Zero. We signed the log book and then replaced as found. We also qualify for this Found It log as per the proof attached, having found 1,778 Regular sized caches. Thanks so much for the cache and a favourite point awarded for the challenge. Greetings from Zimbabwe

A quick find early this morning. Don't qualify yet (not surprisingly). In good condition.
I started going out of my way to collect regular size caches a couple of years ago for another challenge in the You Yangs which I still haven't gone and found yet.
When this was published I knew I had qualified and new a few people around here would probably go out and get it straight away. I checked a couple of days later and FTF was still available so I thought I would get it the next day but once someone jumped in before me I left it until today. Glad I could park right nearby, not used to this warm weather again yet.

Thanks Pinkpiggy7 for the cache, the adventure, the challenge, the hunt and the fun.

As usual it seems when I am caching out in these parts it’s an early start and as many caches as I can find before I need to head off to other more mundane tasks. After a few finds already in the area I saw this pop up as my next closest. I actually hadn’t realised it was such a recent placement until I opened the logbook. Having checked that I qualified I parked nearby and made a quick find in a likely spot here. My fifth find of twelve on a pleasant morning to be out this way. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the challenge cache Pinkpiggy7. Great to see your cache hides keep on coming. A friend reminded me that she needed to check to see if she qualified for any challenge caches now. It reminded me to jump onto project GC and check if I did too. Turns out I qualify for this one! I went to look at the cache and notice it was yet to be found. MontsII insisted on a *FTF* run. Thanks for placing the cache Pinkpiggy7, a favourite point for the challenge.
