Another night freedom camping nearby, and headed over to grab this cache in the morning. A nice hide here, TFTC
staying nearby so decided to do the caches along this road, while looking for the best way in i spotted the item needed, then found the quickest way to get it, tftc
I have shifted my snail shell to Taieri Mouth. I have never visited here before. I decided to travel north picking up the caches on the way.Found the cache up a drain pipe.Cheers for the cache, Natalie247.
We set off on a mini road-trip to Invercargill after the Dunedin GeoToroa Mega event held over Labour Weekend. There were many caches to collect so we set off early. Thanks to all the CO's who placed caches along the route we took, which was not the direct route of course. TFTC.
Well today we're driving to Invercargill for a few days geocaching down there. I need some Southland finds for a challenge and I'd solved a lot of puzzles down here that are long over due for collection. I'm also working towards a 200 and a 300 South Island minute challenge. We had a full days geocaching planned for the way down but yet again I found another bunch of easily solved puzzle caches. My buddy kindly adjusted our plans and we had a lovely drive down this scenic coastal route.Nice to pick up a letterbox especially one just by the road and easy to access. I followed some paths around and soon spied an obvious geocache looking burrow. Thanks for the letterbox
Outnabout with Chamad, Snickersallan, Ardom & Bluewattle on my first ever trip across the ditch. Log signed as QLD+1 to save some space. After a week of caching around Brisbane and at events last month with other Geo friends, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to hop on board for a NZ Mega adventure. Another great day for caching. ?? TFTC Natalie247
Day two- Geo Toroa DunedinStill cold, wet and rainy With Queensland buddies, Snickersallan, chamad and WollastonSigned log as QLD+1Thanks for creating and placing for our enjoyment
A cute little spot for a cache, great to find another letterbox and it's a latitude minute I need for some challenges too. Thanks for the cache, a lovely area we wouldn't have come to otherwise.
Here in the land of the king white cloud to attend the mega in Dunedin. Many thanks to all those involved in the organisation! Today we targeted some of the DT puzzles plus a few unusual caches as extras. Much better weather and some scary roads . Travelling and caching as a group Qld+1. Cheers
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I live full-time in our caravan travelling around NZ, visiting the places we want to visit & doing the things we want to do and fitting in a bit of Geocaching here & there were staying near Mosgiel for a the long weekend, so we can attend the Geo Toroa Event we had a spare day today so thought wed might as well go do some Geocaching were trying to clean-up some Mysteries & Multis today but it doesnt stop us doing other cache types, BTW: we love Letterbox Caches turned out to be a bit of a mission, but got the find, log-book completed & replaced as found were also pleased to add another 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... TN:LN:LS this was #6,357 for us!
Back in our hometown for a weekend of MEGA adventures.Luckily great weather on our first day meandering around TFTC.
Visiting Dunedin for my first Mega Event, on tour with flossieteacake. Had a great time, despite the weather. We had all seasons: sunburn and (almost) frostbite!Great to catch up with caching friends, new and old, and to explore Dunedin in more depth.Thank you to all the COs for making their caches available after the recent floods and thanks to TeamOtago for all their work to ensure a successful Mega!TFTC Natalie247?? ,';*={thanks}-*;', ,;:*(thanks}:*;*:{thanks}*:;, ,;{thanks}:;:*{thanks}:;:{thanks);, `;:{thanks};:{thanks}:;{thanks}:;' `*&;:{thanks}:;:{thanks},:;&*' `-+;:*{thanks}*:;+-` `-\\\||///-' __ \\||// __ / `------' \ | }-(______)-{ | \___/ |||| \___/ /_, |||| ,_\ \| |/
Hint had us puzzled until we walked around the tree and I spotted something out of place. We sent GeohoundandI because she's a bit more flexible than we are, and the passed the cache out for the log to be signed, and passed it back to go back in its burrow.
It is always nice to learn new stuff about NZ trees, thanks for the info. After wading through the long grass to the tree we quickly had the cache in hand. All safe and secure.
Trouve ! / Found it ! Une petite Letterbox ici, trs plaisante. Mes coordonnes taient un peu off mais l'indice permet de vite s'orienter 5076me cache trouve.Merci Natalie247 pour la cache A little Letterbox here, very pleasant. My coordinates were a little off but the clue allows you to quickly get your bearings 5076th cache found.Thank you Natalie247 for the cache
Almost a quick find... may have chosen the longer route in, and shorter route out. Quite evening here, with no one else around. TFTC
A geotrail was helpful finding my way through the long grass. Neatly hidden thanks Natalie 247. Now I know what a ngaio tree looks like
A target cache as I head home after visiting my sister. All good with the cache. Thanks
A pretty cool tree to climb/sit in I can imagine! Quick find thanks to the hint! TFTC.
Out in the dark and with wet grass it was an interesting evening. Cached my way south along the coast until I was ready for bed.
Some of these were quick finds and others took a while. Such is the joy of caching by torchlight.

Everthing in the description is so accurate, yep I fell as nothing under feet as we wandered here. Found the hint and were so happy to sign this log. Lovely beach here which we had a nosey at and a wee walk. Thanks for this cache Natalie247.
Came all the way from Vancouver BC Canada to find this cache, lol. Thanks for being part of the adventure!
Sunflowers26 had not been far in this direction before, and I needed a caching day, so I decided to take her out on a voyage down the coast. An amazing day was had by the pair of us, for a number of different reasons. We had a bit of a struggle here - not finding the cache, that was quick, but upon realising that I'd left my swag in the car. Back I went to grab it, but poor Sunflowers26 had been set upon by some bugs in that short time. Moving extra quickly to put some extra bits and pieces in the cache, we hightailed it out of there and onto the next one. Cheers!
Greetings from the Czech Republic and Thanks For This Cache.

Before I work again at the Airplane I did some caches near the place I slept.
That was a quiet night.
The Ownerin like it to crawl under trees.
Thanks a lot and one point because there are not many Letterboxes.

We stopped here on our way from Lawrence to Dunedin. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good, so we limited it to a park and grab. Chased some whistling birds when approaching ground zero.

On a geocaching expedition with StreetWalkerNZ and Troodles. They had previously found this one, but kindly stopped to allow me to go for this one. When I got GZ and saw the tree, I decided that hands and knees was the best option so I crawled from hint object to hint object until I finally found the container.

Out for a little drive, trying to limit time spent outside the car! Nicely hidden! TFTC!!
We were conveniently camped up here for a quick grab this morning to start the day.
It's always great to find a letterbox cache .
Thanks for putting it here.
We left a homemade rattll coin

It took a little while to narrow down where this was hidden, but once I got close, I t was fairly obvious where it was going to be. TFTC
Cache 986 Hey Wombats_4 do you want to do an Easter cache trip? Yes was the reply so after choosing the best possible weather day we decided a trip up to Dunedin and back to nab some caches for the first Signals Labyrinth was the go, so we hit the road around 8am with the goal of a FTF in Balclutha with that achieved it was trads, puzzles and letterboxes all day and what a great day we had.
Quick clamber under some branches here to spot a very likely hidey spot tree for another quick snag and tag, cleared some rubbish out of cache, T4TLB

Arrived in Dunedin for a few days as one of the kids has their final exhibition for their degree. Flew in and picked up a hire car. Decided to take the scenic route into Dunedin via Taieri Mouth. This was one of 18 caches found this afternoon with a couple of DNF. Interesting hide. Cache and log all fine. Thanks Natalie for the smiley.
Had time today while on my way to look after Dunedin Grandies for a couple of days to grab a couple of caches on my trip through.
Quick find today. Thanks Natalie247 for placing and maintaining

A bit of a scramble for this old fella but should be easy enough for anybody else. Thanks.
I saw what I thought was the hide immediately as I got to GZ. Only problem there was no cache there. Just as I was trying to decide what to do I noticed a second hint item on the other side. So I make my way over there and what do you know - I found a cache! Yeah! Thanks so much for another letterbox cache Natalie - they seem few and far between. TFTC # 17,588
As the country enters Level 4 (lockdown), https://covid19.govt.nz
It is strongly recommend that whilst we go for a walk for exercise, we need to take care on shared surfaces and geocaching should not be done at this time; https://wiki.groundspeak.com/display/GEO/New+Zealand
To remove temptation, I am disabling this cache and ask kindly that you do not find this cache during lockdown.
Remember there is more than physically finding a cache, there are plenty of puzzle caches you can do at home. Or if you live near a multi you can walk the trail and save the find for another day. For more info or connect with wider community see Geocaching New Zealand on Facebook.

Battling the Winter blues and decided to head out for a walk along one of Dunedin many beaches. I love this strip of coast and enjoyed the walk to the cache.

Headed to a few other specimens first but eventually picked the right one and saw the cache hide instantly. tftc
Ah, yes, a relatively easy find, and kudos to the CO for the measures that should prevent this cache from creeping away to another spot.
I was expecting a different kind of hole punch, but that's surprise by association. Or cognition. One of the two anyway.
Thank you for this enjoyable little cache

Found with StreetWalkerNZ as we continue our journey homeward, via the scenic coastal route, as we had never been to the Taieri Mouth or even Brighton before. It was good to have fine weather for the whole day after experiencing a bit of rain down south.
Can't drive past a letter box cache! SW approached from one side and I approached from another, and I chose the optimal route and spotted a likely hiding place. Grabbed the TB. TFTC.

The name says it all. Why is this burrow here? Who knows. The horse being groomed at the parking area didn't seem bothered. Found with Debsnz.
A surprisingly busy parking area but thankfully no one was headed in the direction we needed to go. Quickly spotted a likely hiding spot once at GZ

After the earth cache just down the road KJR and I came to get this one. As we made our way home. Was a fun and wasn't long before we had the cache in hand. Thanks for the cache Natalie
After a fun morning with the CO down South attending the Leap Frogging 2020 event, my event in the afternoon and filling in my last dot day in the process, I decided to go after a few different cache types on this special day. Being that, I decided the caches I would find would only be by CO's that I have had the pleasure of meeting. After the nearby Earthcache and Mystery from the same CO Gadget169 and I made our way here and soon had cache in hand. TFTC
I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners

Nice quick find this afternoon as we travelled along the coastal road. This truly is a beautiful part of the country. TFTC
No luck at finding another cache so a trip to Brighton was on the cards. Easy enough find but someone certainly has longer arms than mine. Thanks for cache, I have a feeling I will be out this way a bit if I continue on my personal challenge.
Took a short road trip under a threatening sky to pick up a few caches. Found the obvious way in & soon had cache in hand. TFTC
The trouble with doing it early in the morning after rain the day before is the wet grass. It didn't take too long to find my way in. A bit of a geo trail by the look of things. I wonder what the history behind the hide object is as it has obviously been there a while.
A nice quick find today. Cheers.
Time to have a holiday road trip to Invercargill, to collect a few TMGT and other caches.
Thanks to all CO's for placing and maintaining their caches. Cheers

Sent Ruru NZ in for this one - we met up at the CITO and will be caching our way to Invercargill via some caches in the Catlins that I or both of us need including the new virtual at the Falls.
Met up with KCN at the event, and making our way back to inv over the next few days.
Typically I came without my caching bag (duh) so couldn't stamp the log book.
Windy, and someone has dumped their compost close.
Thanks for the smilie Natalie247.
