We continued today our tour of Queensland and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to BenM70 for the generation of this nice cache Great Qld Trail - Who stole Brandons gun? (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. Caching through the area. We came out for the AL, so too close to not get just one more cache while here. Quick find and all okay.We came to Ravenswood for an earthcache, ended up caching the town, exploring, met the locals and stayed last night. So, this morning we made that our first stop, worth the detour and the town experience.Seems we can't escape Townsville as we head back in that general direction, and all roads, all day had it highlighted and temping us back despite now heading south. Some time in Ayr, and Bowen. Adventure labs featured, as did earthcaches, and others. Lookouts and peaks, a few short walks but views, fields of cane and melons and coastal scenery. It was 30C by 10am and stayed there all day till the sun went down. We made it to Bowen where we stopped at sacada's friends for the evening. Not a lot of distance, but a good, full day still. Thanks for your cache that helped guide us through the area.
Sillybuggers sharp eyes soon spotted it.Nice shady spot Great description and hintsTFTC
A quick trip around town after staying nearby. *The generic bit for this trip*We are on now on our way south after heading north for warmer weather. From Cooktown back to Notth East Victoria, weaving inland and to the coast, caching as we go. No real plans, just taking each day as it comes and enjoying the adventure in our converted ambulance. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining caches for our enjoyment.
Big hike to Alligator Creek Falls today so a quick cache stop on the way home.TFTC
We have been able to explore the area and take in all the sights and sounds of the city. Despite the humidity, the weather has been quite pleasant and we have enjoyed our stay. We still have a few days left before we head back on way to Mackay. Here's one to find today.Thank you for placing the cache BenM70.
Feeling very exposed here, especially when Possum and Bilby decided to start arguing over who was going to find the container. Bumblebee had to divide and conquer, and ended up finding it herself. Ballbag missed out of all the commotion and stayed in the car. TFTC.

Departed Melbourne several weeks ago now and have been travelling north for the winter, well, for the northern warmth actually (hopefully ), passing through as many small towns as I can grabbing the odd cache here and there as I travel.
Finally made the northern warmth and the Cape and we have loved every minute of it now we are on our way home again and having many more adventures as we slowly travel south.
Well, after spending a few extra days in Townsville getting a cracked chassis and tow bar mount fixed on the GeoVehicle we are finally on the move again. Heading south to Bowen for a couple of days and then south again, we are also grabbing odd geocaches along the way.
This was a really quick easy grab and run, the hardest part was turning are car and caravan around in the dead end road but that was also pretty easy
**Thanks for placing this cache BenM70**

Introducing a muggle colleague to caching and stopped here on the way back to Townsville from Ayr. Quick find and an interesting spot. He thought the statue was a stretcher bearer but it actually is a soldier with a gun. Thanks

Some may blink as they pass through Brandon and miss it but from this little spot the soldier forever at his post can see a plane crashed into a pub, a cat waiting to pounce on 2 mice running off the toilet paper, a grader from yesteryear, a historic iron works, the town church bell tower, the kids playing in the playground as well as watching the traffic going too and fro. The things you miss while blinking.
I did not miss seeing the cache and all the names within. Building up quite the collection, to be expected with the lone cache in the townlet.

Nice easy cache and good short rest. I enjoyed seeing the little chapel nearby. Thanks for showing.
It has been quite some time since I explored the general Ayr region. Numerous years ago we stayed in town overnight, did a dive at the SS Yongala and enjoyed the little town a little more before continuing further. Since that time we usually only rushed through to leave as much bitumen behind us as possible with the aim of exploring locations down south. Also a few more wet visits at the Yongala followed, but all of those were made via liveaboars.
But not this time. This time I specifically took the time to enjoy the area. Well, and what better to do than searching for all these great new caches that have fairly recently been added to the map. Thank you very much BenM70 that you have created this cache and showed me the area! Much appreciated.

On our trip south and this was one of the first stops that didn’t look flooded! I used to live in Brandon in Suffolk, UK so a very appropriate stop - found with PommieParkin2…Tftc
Found with silverfox1970 and firebatman88 on our way from Townsville to Brisbane. A great location and the cache was soon signed. TFTC.
Konie and I were heading south today. We stopped off to find this cache. A quick find was made and the log signed. With everything returned as found, we continued on our way. TFTC
In the area with Selva Girls today as we head south and this was one of them. Once at GZ SG soon had the cache in hand and once the log was signed all was returned as found.

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 97. Ayr Day 1. For my first day in Ayr, I set my eye on five cache to the north and in Ayr itself. I failed one, and I decided one was too far away, but the rest went well. I also did a tour of the Burdekin Machine preservation site in Brandon. A very impressive collection that would be great to see on a day everything is going on their show days.
This was a nice park, and I was happy to see the workshop over the road.
Thanks for the cache BenM70

I stopped by to add the smiley to my map on my way to visit my sister in Ayr this afternoon. I can’t believe that after literally hundreds of trips through Brandon that I have never noticed the cute little chapel that is across the road from this GZ. Thanks for placing this cache here Ben
On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird. I’ll leave the more interesting & detailed log to Mrs Geo (aka: SeasonedBird, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird) because she writes so much more eloquently than I and usually has much more time to do so while I’m driving. It’s a great day for caching. TFTC BenM70

Took a photo of the information board, my grandad was wounded at Villiers Bretoneux in WW1, he was shot in the neck and would show us grandkids the scar. Coongoola & Geodog are on an adventure after attending the Townsville Mega event in Qld. We found your cache today 28 April 2022 11:13 am , while enjoying another day out adding to our tally. We have started our return journey after the Mega event in Townsville.
Our 1st stop is at Home Hill just an overnighter here.
The trip today took us to 2 mountain tops, which had stunning views of the area.
I supose that this location will be quiet busy tomorrow, being Anzac Day
Thankyou BenM70 for placing this cache.

Day 11 of our trek to the Townsville Mega and back with fitzy_1965 and two of my geo-kids Death_killer & my_name_jeff_1.
Today we started the long-haul home. We picked up a few last caches in Townsville on the way out then cached our way South to the Mackay area with Sol de lune and LuckyL10n. It was another long but productive day which included picking up several counties, lots of letterboxes and others in between the intermittent rain. We parted ways with SDL & LL and managed to find a great Caravan Park in Sarina and set up our tents for the last time. We played darts and Trivial Pursuit into the night.
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned. Thanks to all the CO’s.

Very quickly found by Nibletricecakes in the dark on the first day of our drive from Townsville back to Canberra after the Mega. TFTC.
Found with minniek, Sol de lune and LuckyL10n during our Grand Townsville Trek up to CacheQLD's Townsville Mega Event over Easter.
Day 12 of our Townsville Trek, and we managed a few caches around Townsville today before starting our journey south and towards home. Teaming up with SDL and LL made it an extra fun day. Despite the large number of roadworks going on we made good time. This cache was a pretty quick find of the container once at GZ. Signed the log, replaced the cache, then we all continued along to the next cache on our list.
Thanks BenM70 !!

#14188; Day fourteen of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. Today we set off on our homeward journey. After packing up the geomobile, we collected a few more caches in and around Townsville with fitzy_65 and minniek, before hitting the road, final destination Mackay. Collected a few more caches along the way, including more in the "Armed Services" series south of Mackay before pulling up stumps in Koumala for the night. All caches were found in good order and signed LL, Sdl, f65 and mk or similar. Apologies for the largely generic logs. TFTC BenM70
Day 14 of the road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today all about the caches around town.
The Townsville mega is over and we are leaving town today for the 6/7 day road trip to get home to Canberra. Travelling with fitzy_1965 and Minniek as far as Mackay and we stopped for a few caches along the way...and then it was off the main highway for LBH Naval Series west of Mackay.
Once finished the LBH's, fitzy_1965 and minniek headed for Mackay, while LuckyL10n and I stopped at the Koumala Pub for the night....which turned out to be a great night.
Many thanks again to the CO's of all caches...the LBH series was excellent.

This geocache was found on a massive drive back from the MEGA event in Townsville to Melbourne. Did the drive with my muggle wife and half/half son. Whilst the family were in tow it was difficult to geocache, but I still managed some as rest stops on the drive.
Day 1 - From Townsville to Mackay.
This was the first geocace find for the day and a nice little spot to stop for a rest and to learn some local history. TFTC!

Heading south after attending the Townsville MEGA and gathering LGA's that we have not visited.
We only attempted 3 in this series and the one was a DNF. Can't recommend this series to anyone until I can see the CO comments on the wellbeing of the caches.

Woke up quite early this morning from where I was staying, so figured I would go for a drive towards Ayr to find a cache in the Burdekin LGA. Arrived to find a van parked very near to GZ, and one of the occupants walking their dog! As I hovered around, I spotted the cache, so as swift as a gazelle, I floated in and snatched up the cache! Then had to wait a few minutes for the coast to be clear to put it back.

Out and about in the area as we travel through Queensland.
Today we spent some time exploring Ayr, Brandon and Homehill.
All have their own version of history and we did enjoy stopping at many places along the way. This one was a nice break along our drive and with a good hint, we soon had this log signed.
Thanks BenM70.

Today’s plan was to make my way from Mackay and arrive in Townsville but nightfall. Caching along the way and grabbing a few important to me caches, lol. It is just a 3.5 hr drive normally however this drive will take me all day and some. I had to be ready for work in the morning so it was a day of find what I could. Some were stops to stretch the legs. I am sorry if I did not write a note below as some caches stood out and others I just do not remember. I signed the log and replaced the cache as I found it. Thanks for placing it here.
Caching today in and from Bowen to Townsville as we are attending the Mega this weekend. After a short search the cache was found, the log signed and cache returned where found. TFTC Signed as TC
Travelling on the way to Townsville with ilook4geo and picking up the occasional cache along the way. Many thanks go to BenM70 for placing this cache which we enjoyed finding and retrieving. Log was signed and carefully replaced as found.
Northward toward Townsville for the mega and doing some caching along the way of course. Getting there soon with goingplaces2 and say thank you to BenM20 for putting this cache into play for us to find as we go.

Just easing into it today as I had some non caching stuff that took up most of the morning. I’ve decided to drive south and this was the first stop. First find in Burdekin Shire, and I haven’t been here as a non cacher either.
Cool mystery! It will turn up when we least expect it. Thanks for getting me to stop here BenM79
