Reperio 21:24Day 4 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Batemans Bay to Eden. The biggest factor of our travels today was the wind. Often blowing so hard it was a challenge to both get the log signed and hang onto zip lock bags. The journey along the coast was fantastic. With rain threatening to arrive early the next day, we aimed to get as much done as we could, and so concentrated our effort on ticking off the caches along Bengello Beach. As we continued down the coast, we turned our focus to finding the SST series as well as a few others along the way. As we had planned to do the VB series the next day, we made a start on it this evening. Found most of the caches we searched for, so it was a great day out. This one was a little interesting, as we found the chatterbox but no log or cache container. Our plans were derailed a little yesterday as we managed to get a flat tire just two hours after leaving Sydney. It was difficult to deal with as our rental company didnt offer any help whatsoever, so after I swapped our wheel we ended our drive earlier, and settled in for the night. This morning we had to figure out what to do with the car but still keep moving south; after a long morning we managed to get our car swapped for a new one (boy does that sound strange) and we continued our drive. We stopped by [the Guinness world book of records whitest beach](https://coord.info/GC3YA18), and after Laura had a short swim, we got back on the road and eventually made it to the target of our adventure today; the [worlds first earthcache](https://coord.info/GCHFT2). We do love ECs and that was our 295th EarthCache found. It was quite the memorable and unique moment and experience. Once we were done at the Wasp Head, we continued driving south down the windy and busy road which the locals call the highway. Indeed, it is in no way a highway. But alas, we stopped at this tenth stash of the day; after eating dinner it was a quick find. It was dark all around us, with many hopping sounds in the dark darkness. The lock and lock is in okay condition, I got the logbook out and at 8:32 pm inked our nick into it, making this our 7152nd overall find. Thank you dghoffy for placing and maintaining your VB - Chatterbox stash; we were glad to visit it and spice up our Monday while down under in Australia for our spring break, visiting from slightly-distant Myanmar! We snapped a photo and returned the stash as we found it, and appreciate the opportunity for a find and visiting another new location. For my own personal statistics; this is the seventy-second of 112 geocaches we visited down under while on spring break, excluding the 56 adventure lab caches we visited and 28 Waymarks visited. It was quite a long and exciting day for us, as we walked 21.17km throughout the city while visiting twenty-five stashes just this one day.
Visited it during 28-days geotrip to Australia, N.Caledonia, Vanuatu, Fiji, Am.Samoa, Fr.Polynesia with Marci, Ch. Sometimes we logged as "MT" or "Jonea" or "MTCh". Thanks for showing nice caches and places. MT-Jonea from Brno city in Czechia EU. Ll

Found by Mary and David at 12:00. A FP for the themed cache. Our thanks to dghoffy.
F(H)ound It! #3791 @ 3:30 PM
Hahahahaha. Very cute.
All in very good condition.
We continued down this road to the end, just to have a look. A staffordshire terrier chased us on our way back out for a good 500 m as we struggled to get speed up on the hill. Bit of a worry, not sure how long that dog will be around with that sort of behaviour.
Thanks for the cache, dghoffy

What a great series and great caches. Aqau and I stayed at Pambula for 2 nights. Thanks for placing this series for us to enjoyment.
Quick park and grab while heading south. Loved the adornment. Made me smile, like a big teeth one!
What a year Sandyofthesea and I have had. We kitted out the Prado and took off from Perth, Western Australia at the start of April 2022 to travel more of Australia using geocaching as a guide to see the sights. We started with the Nullabour, Eyre and York Peninsulas, the Riverlands, visited family in Victoria and then back in SA it got cold. Flinders and the Oodnadatta Track was amazing and we finally warmed up in Dalhousie Springs. The Alice beckoned and then a change of plan and we ended up tackling the Tanami Track to the Kimberley and Bungles Bungles. Territory Day in Darwin was unhinged - please try and do it! The Gulf, the coast and the car breaker ‘Old Tele Track’ to the top of Cape York. This is a must but it’s not easy! Eventually made it to Brisbane to get some fixes to the car….. let’s see where we end up.
dghoffy, I found VB - Chatterbox today. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Third time lucky. I shouldn’t have continued my travels down south this morning without a coffee. I arrived at the boat ramp cache. it was peaceful and perfect. No one around. Until I got to the geocache location - 15 meters! So close. These guys were in no rush to go anywhere, so I had to give up. I arrive at the next place, to look for a flowering grevilla and my GPS notified me too late. It was now easier to turn and park on the other side, and the minute I did, I was suddenly surrounded by cars and kids… it appeared a schoolbus stop. So I waited. Then to get to the cache, only meters away, but I really didn’t feel stable enough to balance on a bank with all this steel underneath me. I tried but no luck. What a relief to find this super easy one. Hopefully the rest of the day will be like this!
Found this cache on our East Coast Trip Day 5 in company of Bazzars. On route to Pambula, we found a few extra on the VB series. Thanks from D B-A
Found a note pad with unlogged geocaches from The Stumble's annual caching trip so doing a lot of retrospective logging.

Heading back to Eden after the Pinnacles had been visited and we had no objections to stopping off and picking up a couple more caches by this CO. This proves the quality of the caches, as a dozen in a day for us is a lot.
A good area here to peel of the highway and safely search for the cache. The search didn’t take long, as there was a fairly obvious landmark. When we got to the location, the cache guardian made us all laugh.
Log book was ok, and everything was put back as found. Thanks for the cache creation dghoffy. Cheers

**This Cache**
I guessed what this cache might be as we drove towards it, and I was spot on! This was a very quick find too, appreciating how good the coordinates are for your caches, just perfect!

**All caches were signed *AB ! 11 / 9***
Adventure Boys! consisted of: Loci612, DARKSIDEDAN and sebass19 for this trip

**Day 2: VB Series**
Today our main focus was the VB series, plus a few extras along the coastline section of the loop! We started nice and early at 7am and had a jam packed day until we decided to leave the last 20 or so for the next morning! We didn't expect the series to take quite as long as it did, but with some tricky hides, tough bush bashing through thick regrowth and a couple of DNF's the time added up quickly! Thankfully we almost had the roads to ourselves, at one point we saw less than a handful of cars over several hours! We did see a big bikie group coming through the forest at one stage also!
Absolutely fantastic series, easily one of the best in NSW! I'm not a big fan of power trails but this was far from one! Just a cluster of awesome caches, on quiet roads with plenty of parking and lots of creativity and fun to be had!
Thanks dghoffy!

Finally, enough restrictions have been lifted that we can get out for a nice day trip and find some caches. The VB series was the perfect choice. Slathered in hand sanitiser and masks donned when necessary, we got ourselves some smilies. Thanks dghoffy for a great day and a bunch of new finds.

Lol. Love the creativity of the series. Found with k8tybee and Nibleteicecakes. TFTC
Yay!!! Another cute little cache.
Down at the coast with GLISS! to help K8TYBEE celebrate her birthday. Perfect time to grab some funky caches, check out some antique shops and stare at the beautiful beach. Been watching the news in case the dreaded Covid rears it’s head down this way. So far things are looking all clear. Thanks for the cache.

Another one where Miss 4 and I had to stay in the car while JMorg jumped out to grab it. I was able to pull round onto the road to watch her though. Thanks
A short quick stroll and I was soon at GZ and could see the cache. Had to clear the spiderwebs off with a stick but once that was done and it was clear I quickly retrieved the cache signed it and rehid it. Thanks for the fun
TFTC down here from Canberra for a couple of days exploring the region with mr-aeiou.
iGizmo had us in all the wrong directions until observation won out. I know a puppy that would have loved to have found this but with a predictable outcome. TFTC.
Mrs SKI snaffled this one quite quickly but had a good laugh. Thankyou to the last finder who reset it for our enjoyment. Likewise Mrs SKI reset it for the next finder.
Its been a while since we have made it up to the southern New South Wales coast but we are back for a week or so. Haven't chosen our time well with all the wind an rain that is about but it is still great to be away. But this has been of benefit to the local cafes as we have visited a few!
With a bit of a break in the weather we thought it was time to head out and look for a few local caches. There is quite a bit of new activity in the area since we were last here and with most of it by D G Hoffy, we knew there would be good and varied hides on the agenda. We weren't disappointed!
We managed to dodge most of the heavy showers during our time out and were treated to some magnificent scenery. All in all a great day.

The Canberra day long weekend falls on the first weekend in March so we usually take this time to head out of town. So this year, the caching troupe of us and Rapidlywild decided to head to the Merimbula to Eden coastline to collect a few smiley's.
The weather was lovely and it was really nice to get some sea breeze on our faces and sand between our toes.
A quick park and grab, cool container, made us all smile.
Thanks for placement and the series dghoffy and an enjoyable weekend away Rapidlywild

With the Canberra Day Long Weekend upon us, the FFLL ladies and I usually take off towards SA or the likes for some caching, however with the unpredictability of COVID on the borders, we decided we would try for something a little closer to home. We decided that we would come down and have a crack at the VB trail around Eden and Merimbula. It was a great weekend away with both the FFLL ladies and it was nice to see the ocean and get some sun on our faces.
Day 2 of our weekend away and time to collect some more smilies. A nice quick find that gave us all a bit of a giggle. Log signed and replaced as found.
Thanks for the cache placement dghoffy and thanks for the wonderful weekend away FFLL ladies Always enjoyable and always something to look forward to.

A family holiday in Pambula with some early morning caching. Unfortunately the weather wasn't so great with overcast and rainy conditions on most days. Didn't stop the geokids hitting the surf and nearby river, but a few more degrees and blue sky would have been nice.
Spent a few hours most mornings before everyone else was up caching the local area.
Apologies for the generic logs, specific or interesting details added as appropriate.
Hahahahahahahahahahaha. A well planned and thought through series, well done!!. TNLNSL TFTC

Crystal Warrior and I spent the day on a run to Eden. Along the way we stopped off to look for this series of original caches! We liked how they were themed and how they all had good safe spots for pulling off the road. Thanks dghoffy another funny one!
What a great series. Good caches and awesome scenery. This was one we found. Left trackable and fav poinr alloc. Our thanks to dghoffy for placing this cache and adding to our enjoyment of the area.
Found with Lpud on a drive down the coast. Once bitten..... We’ve had a very successful day.
Quickly found with gwd.aussie.

Out and about with fitzy_1965 whilst on holidays in Merimbula.
Decided to break up this series over a few days and glad we did as there is a lot of quality here.
Cute little find here today. Car pulled up behind us but soon moved on.....the highway was certainly busy.

19,862. Found with minniek as we did about a third of the VB series.
This series is one of our main aims while holidaying in Merimbula. We headed out with a plan of doing about 35 of them today. There sure were some well set up caches just in these 35 - can't wait to see the rest. All were found pretty quickly and in good condition. Why did I suddenly feel cold here? Signed the log, replaced the cache, then we continued on to the next one.
Thanks dghoffy !!

#16867. Staying at the Caravan Park at Twofold Bay and this is our first full day in the area. Not feeling well so another long day of walking in the heat and the wind gathering 20 plus caches and ending with a couple of DNF's.
This little fella gave me a bit of a fright at first. Managed to get the log out and sign it without being bitten. Time to move along.

Day three of Xmas in Eden with BettyBoo3747.
First full day in Eden, so we just picked up a few caches along the side of the highway, and a couple of series in Pambula, separated by a nice lunch at the Deli Cafe.
The snappers have come loose, but they still work!
Thanks, Robmc.

Today we continued our gathering of caches, along with ilook4geo, in the Variety Bash series. The key word is "variety", of cache sizes, of surprising camos used, as well as types of hides. For part of this run we were also towing the caravan and the safe parking places were still good, which was a bonus. This cache was another successful find where the log was signed and replaced as it had been found. It also gave us a good laugh. Thanks, dghoffy, for placing this fun series of caches.
On the cache hunt today with goingplaces2 and this was a success story here. Cache found and retrieved, log signed, all was put back as found. TFTC.
