Reperio 11:52Day 5 of our NSW south eastern caching tour, and Master Vitruvius and I travelled from Eden to Canberra, and it was another long but fantastic day of geocaching. As it had rained overnight, the bush land we had to walk through in the morning was quite wet, and so getting to some of the caches was made a little more tedious and difficult. Our goal for today was to complete the VB series, and then head towards Canberra later in the evening. Fortunately most of the caches we searched for were found, and there were certainly some fantastic containers along the way.Gratias dghoffyAs a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Accompanied by ALL7, parts of the VB series run on the road to pick up each cache on the way to the end. We enjoyed a trip to the country for an interesting view of the old cottage, huts, etc! TFTC

This container is so pretty, you’d almost want to take it home to put in your garden. Real birds sang us to victory. Not sure they were blue though. TFTC
What a great series and great caches. Aqau and I stayed at Pambula for 2 nights. Thanks for placing this series for us to enjoyment.
Happiness was attained here by avoiding the ditch, just beat about the bush. TFTC
Found with O319 on our weekend in the area, specifically targeting this series. TfTC
Found a note pad with unlogged geocaches from The Stumble's annual caching trip so doing a lot of retrospective logging.

Found on the annual geocaching trip with Stumble's Mate. Great containers! TFTC.
Found with the Adventure Boys (Dan, Seb, Loci) on a trip to the deep South. Signed dsd or darksidedan or Adventure Boys or AB to save space in the log. Thanks for the cache and the adventure.
I gave the VB series 3 favorite points in total. So many good caches. A few damp logs but nothing to bad accept for one that we couldnt sign.
Note: photos are not spoiler photos. The photo attached is from my geocaching adventures or a photo from my family life.

We struggled to locate this one, but only because we approached it wrong. If you make the intended approach you would literally run straight into this one and can't miss it, however we walked along the guard rail and then straight into GZ (not recommended). As the coordinates seemed to be about 6-10 metres out for us, back towards the car. So because of how we approached we were searching the wrong dense part of the bush and nature was blocking us from getting to where the cache actually was.
Thankfully I eventually decided to do a bit of a loop and a new approach and the cache jumped out at me instantly, big facepalm moment! It was so easy to get back to the car from here too without crossing the ditch.... doh!
Glad we got it in the end, great cache once we found it too

**Day 3: VB Series**
Today we had the goal of completing the VB series, we had 19 finds in the series today and 2 DNF's. Only 4 DNF's over the entire series which we were pretty happy about
Once completed, DSD had to rush back to Canberra whilst myself and sebass19 had a leisurely afternoon, picking up some more awesome caches in coastal towns! We were keen to get home before dusk however so soon enough we also hit the road back home!
Thanks once again for an amazing weekend away dghoffy! Absolutely fantastic series, easily one of the best in NSW! I'm not a big fan of power trails but this was far from one! Just a cluster of awesome caches, on quiet roads with plenty of parking and lots of creativity and fun to be had!
This is my last cache for the day and a good one to finish on. A tiring but very enjoyable day. All I can say is AMAZING dghoffy.

The Canberra day long weekend falls on the first weekend in March so we usually take this time to head out of town. So this year, the caching troupe of us and Rapidlywild decided to head to the Merimbula to Eden coastline to collect a few smiley's.
Day 3 of the adventure and the weather was yet again lovely. Just right for caching although it did warm up along the way. Sorry for the generic logs.
Another quick find here.
Thanks for the hide and fun series dghoffy

With the Canberra Day Long Weekend upon us, the FFLL ladies and I usually take off towards SA or the likes for some caching, however with the unpredictability of COVID on the borders, we decided we would try for something a little closer to home. We decided that we would come down and have a crack at the VB trail around Eden and Merimbula. It was a great weekend away with both the FFLL ladies and it was nice to see the ocean and get some sun on our faces.
Time for day 3 out and about. A nice quick easy find here ️Cache found, ️ signed and ️ replaced.
Thanks for the cache placement dghoffy and thanks for the wonderful weekend away FFLL ladies Always enjoyable and always something to look forward to.

Despite the many things I love about having moved from Melbourne to Canberra a year or so back, I have very much missed my caching adventures with the fabulous IamCoust. As it turns out he happened to be visiting Pambula while I was passing through on my way back from visiting family a bit further up the coast. A rare and wonderful opportunity for another cache outing in his excellent company!
We found most of the 10 or so caches we attempted together from this clever, creative series. We DNF'd a small number, but such is life.
This one had us guessing for a few minutes. In the end, it took a leap of faith and a journey away from our preconceptions for the very clever and nicely executed hiding place to be revealed. Expect the unexpected I always say (but - at least while geocaching - usually do the exact opposite)! TFTC

A family holiday in Pambula with some early morning caching. Unfortunately the weather wasn't so great with overcast and rainy conditions on most days. Didn't stop the geokids hitting the surf and nearby river, but a few more degrees and blue sky would have been nice.
Spent a few hours most mornings before everyone else was up caching the local area. Today's caching expedition I was joined by my good mate MJW1, who was on his way home to Melbourne.
Apologies for the generic log, specific or interesting details added as appropriate.
A well planned and thought through series, well done!!. TNLNSL TFTC

Keen to attack this series but, with limited time available, we had to curtail our trip as well as skipping a few hides, especially ones in the forest which was quite wet after overnight rain and continuing showers, which we were not really dressed for. We drove out to Wyndham and returned to Merimbula clockwise as recommended by the CO.
I would like to report no DNFs but regrettably recorded 2, which are reported separately in the respective logs. Otherwise please forgive our generic logs which in no way detract from our enjoyment of the variety of hides and containers. Much effort has gone into the creation and maintenance of this series which we greatly appreciate. Very few drive-bys here!

19,940. Found with minniek as we completed the wonderful VB series.
With 30-odd caches left in the VB series we headed out today to try to find them. Once again we were not disappointed in the high quality of the caches. All were found pretty quickly and in good condition. Another very well set up cache. Signed the log, replaced the cache, and headed off to the next one.
Thanks dghoffy !!

Out and about with fitzy_1965 whilst staying in Merimbula of the holidays.
Day 3 of our variety bash along the back roads saw us start out near Wyndham and finish the loop back near Pambula. Today was hot, hot and more hot. We took our time with these finds so as not to suck too much energy out of us.....probably a bit late for me.
Cute little birdie.

#16963. Time for a full day on the road chasing VB caches. By half way I was already tired and wanting to call it quits. However we continued on until we had about 50 finds under the belt. Lovely countryside that would be even better if it were green and the dams full. The cattle looked well-fed and contented so there must be some good pasture around the valleys.
A bit of a clamber to look for this one and Rob found it as I was going wider. Nice combination here.
Thanks dghoffy

Day seven of Xmas in Eden with BettyBoo3747.
Started a bit earlier than usual, and spent all day on the VB trail (and didn't find a single stubby!)
Very neat container holder. Not sure how far the blue log holder would fly though.
Thanks, Robmc.

Today is the 2nd day of our 4 day Cup weekend and mini road trip. Last night we stayed at a farm stay at Wyndham overnight.
Nice quality cache lose to good parking in a road a bit busier than yesterday
Thank you for your cache and adding to our road trip memories.

I come this way quite often for work and this new VB trail is a must to do.
Knowing the types of hides Dghoffy does, I was looking forward to it.
I worked my way down to Eden and will continue tomorrow for the rest of the VB.
Once again a great efforts has been executed with the variety and clever hides. TFTC

Having completed most of the Sapphire Surprise Tour caches it was decided, along with ilook4geo, that we should also try the Variety Bash series. We found this to be another fun series and found so many interesting caches.
As before, the nearby safe parking places were much appreciated, the titles were well chosen and the camo of so many caches was well done. All caches found today had their logs signed and were put back as they had been found.
Thank you, dghoffy, for placing this fun series of caches. Well done!

Came along today with goingplaces2 to make a start on this VB series. We really enjoyed the day as so many of the caches were a lot of fun. Good camo used, names were relevant. All logs signed. TFTC.
Third day of my far south coast road trip. A start in Eden today with some numbers in the VB series before slowly working my way north again. Again good quality caches all day, thanks for that.

*FTF* with Tankengine, Aquilus1 and AddictedGamer.
When the Canberra Community saw these caches come out it caused a bit of a stir. But some of the ones were already being found and so there was no more thought about them. Until it was noticed that there were a few still up for grabs.
We had a good crew - Tankengine was our driver, Aquilus1 was our chef and AddictedGamer reminded us when we past a cache and I was just great company to have around ; )
A plan was hatched and we packed an overnight bag each and headed to Youban's for the night. This had us just that little bit closer in the morning to start our adventure.
The day was long, but fruitful with a great trail from the COs. I liked many of these caches for different reasons, but I loved that there was easy parking at all of them and we went the direction recommended in the listing which was perfect. I can see why this was named VB! We had a lot of fun moments and with all being quick to find it didn't take us long to finish the trail, however we left the ones that had already been found so that we can come another time and spend the weekend picking them up. Awesome work as always and tftcs dghoffy!!!

*FTF* With dty73, Tankengine and Addicted Gamer. We were aware that this trail of caches had been published and perhaps a bit surprised that most of them sat waiting for a find for so long, but then it took us some time before we could coordinate ourselves to be free to go down there to find them ourselves.
Friday afternoon and they were still free so a hurried packing after work and we made the wet and foggy drive down to the coast where we had waiting accommodations thanks to Youban.
With a closer than home start to the day we were organised well for a good start, taking note of the clock wise direction we drove right around and headed off in the direction that had us parking in good locations for all the caches.
A good and sunny day with 62 FTF's but the highlight was the quality and variety of the caches we found. All very unique and a lot of effort has gone into putting out this trail. This is NOT a power trail and we thoroughly enjoyed our leisurely pace as we went about enjoying each location and cache.
Thanks for the trail and this cache dghoffy, so much effort and attention to detail made for a great caching day in this lovely location. Looking forward to returning for the ones we didn't get time for this trip.
THIS CACHE: Found okay but added to the terrain a little on the way there... there was a better way!

Chooo ooo [FTF] - with dty73, Aquilus1 and AddictedGamer. Being a long weekend, we decided we could venture a little further afield to collect some caches, and all these FTFs down here on the Victorian Border (that is what I thought VB stood for ) were calling! So down the coast we went! We started on this trail bright and early, concentrating on the unfound ones! We knew we didn't have enough time to do the whole trail but were happy to clean up on the FTFs! We will have to come down another day to finish this off!
This was a fun trail! Yes, lots of variety in the caches – that’s for sure, just to keep us on the ball! And we certainly got some laughs at some of them! We were happy to see that we made good progress along the way, no really long searches, and certainly no DNFs - got to be happy with that! Clearly a lot of work has gone into this series, so thanks for the fun dghoffy, and thanks for the company dty73, Aquilus1 and AddictedGamer. - I for one certainly had a great time!
