On a little roadie south from Tauranga to visit my daughter. Lovely bike ride around the area today. Many thanks for bringing me here.
I completed my objectives in only half a day, so I headed south to do more. Stopped by here. Man, the tradiscantia is taking over! Someone should rip that nasty stuff out. Made hunting for the cache a little tough, but only a little tough. Used the hint for this one.Te Ara o Whareroa?? The track of the long house? I wonder why that name came to be. Ah, google maps to the rescue. It goes to Whareroa beach. Okay, that only answers half the question.---I try to get every geocaching souvenir going, but this August challenge is looking difficult. Find 100 caches between now and 1 September? Luckily I have one spare weekend, so will use that to get the Dannevirke helmet. That leaves forty more caches to find... I need to get stuck in somewhere. I need to do some small geotrips. So the plan is to grab the bike and cycle-cache around Waikanae, Great! Except that I accidentally got off at the wrong station. Rather than wait for the next train I decided an impromptu plan change was called for and instead spent the day caching around Paraparaumu. The other problem is that it was raining. After the first 3 caches it got a bit heavier so I hid under New World's shelter for half an hour at which point the rain stopped. By 2pm I had finished with Paraparam and found myself cycling towards Paekakariki. I am all for that, but sometime then it is supposed to start raining again, and I was already feeling the early drops. I pulled the plug and went back to Paraparam, it being closer than Paekakariki at that point, and headed home. 25 caches found. Once I add the 61 for the helmet I should be pretty good for the souvenir! Sweet Of course, this means that next year's August challenge is going to be that much harder...
Last few days being in the area on a daily basis. Have enjoyed my lunchtime walks in the park. This was a tidy cache, with nice camo, all dry and in good order. TFTC Flowerydaze
So nice to meet up on a calm autumn day to do the tarsealed track to find the cache with lovely company. Glad toknow that it is well worth looking for. TFTC
#2708. A weekend away with GB Leader in Raumati was a good excuse to go caching in an area I had never visited before - and it so happened that Flowerydaze wanted to do a maintenance run in that very area.So along with Talla64 we hit the Pathway Wander trail. Nice weather, a nice easy trail shared with many cyclists & a couple of runners and good company. The caches were all fairly easily found by me, except for one which had been overgrown by blackberry. A couple needed some work with Talla64's secateurs to improve access, and one other one needed relocating. All in all, a successful afternoons work, and well worth the effort. This was the first find, accompanied by a fantail in the tree.Tftc Flowerydaze.
Very busy trails today, we are having to look behind before we stop, in case we get run down by other cyclists. Such a fun day out. Cache is all good . TFTC
Had some spare time this morning so went for a wander. This one eluded me first time around but was a quick find today. All good at GZ and TFTC.
First cache on the west coast. Nice easy find. Left a trinket. Lovely cache tftc
**19,158**A lovely pleasant pathway, and a cache with a nice clear hint, which made for a fast find. The day is moving on and we still have a lot more ground to cover. TFTC
Up the coast this afternoon visiting my father-in-law and wanted to grab a quick cache while we were up here. The area has changed a little since the last time I found a cache in this spot. It was a quick find, thanks to the tell tale signs of a geotrail. Grabbed the trackable and signed the log. All good here, and TFTC.
My first find!!! Beautiful day after my 50th birthday! Looking forward to finding many more! TFTC
Random late night mish with a mate to get out and clear the head. Mentioned geocaching and he never heard of it. N here we are... Great one to be his first
With the household chores finished for the day it was time to head out for a walk with Lulu the dog.
I’d had this little trail on my list for a while. I’d never been on this walkway before. The last of the autumn weather was gorgeous and I enjoyed the walk collecting this series of caches along the way.
It was a quick find at this one and a nice sized camoed container.
Gets a favourite point from me.

Back to this one which we had missed on our first visit last year. Muggles abound here, making the search tricky. Got there in the end. Dropped off TB. TFTC
I’m out and about today trying to get some caches under my belt for the ‘find 100 caches in April’ challenge. I only had half a day, so didn’t want to stray too far from home. Unfortunately I got held up for half an hour after losing my cellphone (and credit cards) in the long grass at an earlier (unfound) cache (also belonging to this CO). What a relief when one of the kids helping me find it put his foot on it as someone else was ringing it. Lesson learned - never go geocaching with your phone on silent!
When I arrived at GZ, Murphy’s Law meant that the exact area I needed to search had some people doing some gardening on the other side of the fence, not far from where I needed to be. I tried to be as stealthy as possible, and thanks to the good hint, managed to find the cache pretty quickly, and returned it as sneakily as I could.
Thanks Flowerydaze for the cache

A nice quick find, first for the day. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north" and today we cruised around the Kapiti Coast. Cyclone Gabrielle has had little effect hear that I can see. There was light rain with some strong wind gusts in the morning and this cleared up in the afternoon..
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Plenty of Tradescantia here: such a fun house plant; such a noxious weed. Needs heavy duty poisoning to get rid of it or of course just chickens! Thanks Flowerydaze
Following the hint it was a quick find... glad the 2dogs in the back yard didn't seem to get their owners attention before I made a quick exit

Looked for this longer than I should have, it was staring straight at me, ha ha. TFTC
Checked out the cache and discovered that the last cacher had actually found the original one that I thought had gone missing, and had replaced. So there were now two, the replacement placed in June 2022 and the original one from 2019. I've removed the old one and left the latest one. Please note the hint.
This cache is even further south than the one we just did and therefore even closer to the source of this awful bitter southerly.
After a quick unsuccessful search of GZ my mind was beginning to wander to thoughts of the nice warm heater back in the car. One more quick look before we display a sad blue face and I spotted it not quite as the hint described it but pretty close.
NB I managed to sort of leave my mark on the badly shredded log sheet but it might pay to replace it sometime soon.

Found on our return from a few searches of the smurf series.
Enjoyed the path and all the work that has been done with all the planting.
Should be quite impressive in the years to come.

Found an exact spot matching hint but no cache — it was however close by at another obvious spot. Cheers Flowerydaze!
Somehow, I found myself out this way on a Wednesday night, as often seems to happen in the life of a geocacher. It was dark. I had used public transport to get here, and so would be using public transport to get home and I was aware that they stopped running at some point, but that was a problem for future me. Oh well, while I'm here I may as well find a few caches. So I did, and this was one of them.
Found somewhere that matched the hint. And I found the cache. They were two separate places, but that's OK, isn't it? They weren't far apart.
Thanks to the CO for enticing me to this place with the lure of a geocache.

An easy cache like this should not have so many DNFs. I can't get to it until tomorrow, so will disable it for now.
Didn't get much of a chance to look around as the area was really busy so it is probably still there. May return later and see if it is quieter.
Spent quite a while, extended GZ area tested possible cammo but no smilie here
DNF. Spent considerable time.

Quick stop and find while on the way into the Interislander Ferry terminal of this cache to establish a bench mark location for a trackable currently carrying. Find was made early morning 22/10 but for trackable have logged find as for 21st (hope this is ok?) as trackable has other subsequent logs already in for the 22nd and mileage would be distorted.
Cache easily found, no problems at site. Thanks for creating and placing the cache.

This one took a lot longer to locate than it should have due to Muggle traffic. However once the coast was clear and after looking in the logical spot... there it was. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot all ready for the next geo-hunter. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this geocache. I really appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC.
Enjoying a bike ride through QE park on a beautifully fine sunny, calm winter's day. This was the last one on today's route. Had to think about this one for a bit. A slight geotrail was helpful, then felt it. Thanks for your trail Flowerydaze.
Lots of muggles made it hard to have a proper look. Will try again at a quieter time
Was about to give this one away after spending a bit of time here. (A bit downcast when previous logs say it’s easy!) Accurate gps tho! Lots of covering with sawdust etc from maintenance to fence recently done. Relieved to put a smile here now and head back to QE11 Sth entrance- great day for an adventure!
Tftc easy find, out biking with diannewhight and geeves90
Have taken both the trackables

Lovely Day to put some miles into the training and bruises to the shins with Dianne and Kimmy+co

Decided today was a lovely day to try out the Smurf Trail. It wasn't quite what we were expecting, but a lovely walk none the less. We start out at this cache and bumped into a lady counting the people entering the park last month (over 5000 from this entrance in January). Left two GC's that i've had for ages and showed the park ranger the cache who knew about geocaching but had never seen one.. Thanks for the cache and walk. Did with Mycro Man, Ezratar, Astro Hunter and Violet Butterfly
Took longer than it should have. And its not really "hidden" any more. Wandering willy is taking over. Tftc.
11 December 2020 15:04 8864. A quick find and sign, but unfortunately I trod on some dog. Poo near the cache, so future searchers beware! Good hide though, with accurate coordinates, tftc
Nice to be able to grab this one and have a handy bench to sit on to do the paperwork. Thanks CO for the series along the track.
1.45pm. Back for a second attempt after missing the first three exactly a year ago. Less muggles here today so we had a longer look and were successful.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Thank you. David and Noeline.
Found with Mother and puppy. Beware of dog poo! This one took us a little while as we kept getting distracted by other dog owners. Our puppy enjoyed meeting a few dogs bigger than her before we finally got our hands on the cache. Unfortunately I stood in dog poo, its a shame others are not more responsible with their dogs out here. TFTC
A nice straight forward cache (thanks to the clue) to finish off our walk on a beautiful sunny winter's day. We had to be mindful of muggles coming and going, but managed easily between passers by.
Thanks for setting this and the rest of the trail along here up

It wasn't much of a day to go for a walk. Tossed on my coat and braved the cold to look for this one between showers. Checked a couple of spots before I found it. Ill be back to get the others on a better day.

Down for a bike ride along this track to find some caches before the rain. Thanks Flowerydaze for the cache.
Thanks for the cache. Will have to come back when I have more time a walk the walk
We decided to come for a mini holiday and at the same time help out NZ tourist industry so we came down to Paekakariki for a few days staying at the local motel which is very pleasant and run by friendly and helpful hosts with a lovely generous meal last night.
While husband did the 4hour Escarpment walk i looked around for a few other caches ( having done quite a few along there already) and a drive up to Raumati with a chance to catch up with old teachers Coll. friend also seemed the best idea.
so i set off along this walkway , wishing i had my bike!, and completed 5 caches before turning around and heading back .
All needed that second thorough look but all were in good condition and duly signed and replaced.
thank you for this mini trail of smurf caches.

Out for a wander with Yeetrees. Found after bit of a search - the neighbour poked his nose over the fence to see what was going on as he was puzzled by the constant searching here. Hopefully reassured him that it is nothing to be concerned about.

I managed to miss this cache on the first pass and, with muggles passing regularly, we decided to carry on with our walk in the knowledge that we would get another chance when we returned. The second opportunity was not wasted; it was still a little tricky to spot even though there is nothing at all evil about how it is hidden.
A quick find today. Track deserted so easy to look around. Cache in great order.
Thanks

out and about on my mt bike today and enjoyed it through here as i have been cycling in the hills above Upper hutt

One of seven caches located today during a bike ride through Queen Elizabeth Park. Found it reasonably quickly. #3159. TFTC.
Called here with Mrs agcnz on a very warm afternoon on a walk to get 6 unfound caches along this path. No problems here, found after just a few minutes. All in good condition - signed log, TFTC
Quick find after the muggles had passed - always good to have my camera handy so my loitering doesn't cause suspicion! TFTC
Went for a smallish geocaching trip through Queen Elizabeth Park after the school run. Turned out to be a horrible day for hay fever so my intended run turned into a sneezing ans spluttering stumble to tick of a few caches.
This one was found quite easily after waiting for some muggles to pass. All in order.

I saw this series of caches come out and have been waiting to be able to start finding them. And knowing I would be out and about around Kapiti this evening, I decided to take advantage and get rid of yet another Dot Day off my Geocaching calender as well.
The sun was close to setting when I arrived at GZ, so I was glad that it didn't take me long to lay my hands on the nicely concealed container. All was fine with the contents, and thankfully I was lucky enough to have the whole area to myself in order to be able to sign the log and then replace everything as found in my own good time.
Thanks for the cache.

a shorter bike ride for me today to this cache, thanks for placing it here Flowerydaze, it's a fun trail to bike along, TFTC
Decided that a warm spring Tuesday was a good day to get out on the bike and bag the caches along the path. Took longer than I expected -GPS put me across the track from GZ, so a bit of geo-eyesight was needed to ferret it out.
Out and about with the CO for this one while on a maintenance run. A quick find although I had a clue where it was hidden. TFTC
An easy find to start the cycle trail to Paekakariki on a cool breezy spring day.
