On a little roadie south from Tauranga to visit my daughter. Lovely bike ride around the area today. Many thanks for bringing me here.
Found while doing some weed control in the reserve, was a bit spiky to sit and sign but TFTC
I am in Wellington for the weekend to attend a fellow Geocachers 80th birthday celebration. The Seagnoid and I are continuing on with our list of caches in Kapiti that neither of us have.Having just found a puzzle cache nearby I had a quick look at the map and noticed a few trads on the way back to the car, so naturally stopped by for some walk n grabs! Thanks for the cache.
Very nicely camoed container. Learned what a Pseudopanax tree was . Sunshine and showers here today. TFTC Flowerydaze
#2711. A weekend away with GB Leader in Raumati was a good excuse to go caching in an area I had never visited before - and it so happened that Flowerydaze wanted to do a maintenance run in that very area.So along with Talla64 we hit the Pathway Wander trail. Nice weather, a nice easy trail shared with many cyclists & a couple of runners and good company. The caches were all fairly easily found by me, except for one which had been overgrown by blackberry. A couple needed some work with Talla64's secateurs to improve access, and two needed relocating. All in all, a successful afternoons work, and well worth the effort. This cache required a new log, and some secateur work. All good now!Tftc Flowerydaze.
Companions noticed so much growth of blackberry over the years, included an impressive lot of cyclists passing by, so be aware of muggles. Enjoyed finding caches checking the status of logs for the series on a lovely autumnal holiday, with good accessibility for my injured back sprain. TFTC
Managed to lose a bit of skin in the brambles, but the ripe blackberries made up for it - all is forgiven. Cache is all good. TFTC
**19,162**Managed to duck into the bushes and collect quickly, this one quickly thinking i was racing some approaching muggles, but turned out they had gone another way and I was only racing myself. Sad but true! TFTC
My only success on this part of the trail, to my chagrin! I'm usually pretty bad at bush caches but spotted this one after a lil bit of fossicking. Found whilst walking Paekakariki to Paraparaumu. Tftc!
With the household chores finished for the day it was time to head out for a walk with Lulu the dog.
I’d had this little trail on my list for a while. I’d never been on this walkway before. The last of the autumn weather was gorgeous and I enjoyed the walk collecting this series of caches along the way.
It was a quick find at this one and a nice sized camoed container.
Gets a favourite point from me.

Thanks to suepate and her secateurs, (which was much appreciated) the blackberry has been cleared round this cache so it is now accessible and good to go.
Actually found this. Extracted it from the blackberry, signed it and put back exactly how I found it. Suggest loppers or secateurs would come in handy, although I managed without. Tftc.
Will have to check this one out in view of the blackberry comments. Might have to move it.
A nice quick find. The blackberry is starting to take over the hide. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north" and today we cruised around the Kapiti Coast. Cyclone Gabrielle has had little effect hear that I can see. There was light rain with some strong wind gusts in the morning and this cleared up in the afternoon..
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

Good clue thanks. Who knew pseudpanax is Latin for false ginseng?! Lots of berries but too bad they're poisonous. Thanks Flowerydaze
After a short stroll from the previous cache we arrived at GZ to find quite a lot of blackberry growing around and amongst the hint item. Lisa.D got a few scratches while retrieving this one for me to sign. Nothing too serious or disfiguring thankfully so I'll take that as a win on the day (you didn't really expect me to dive in there did ya? hahaha) TNLNSL TFTC
Nice to have another relaxing wander in this park, it almost feels like summer! Quick find, thanks Flowerydaze!
Out on a lovely Saturday morning jaunt with Trinity Seagnoid and Twig. The sun is shining. Kia ora rawa atu for the cache Flowerydaze.
Found when out with some fellow geocachers. Lovely day for a walk.
Thanks for the cache

I didn't have anything at all exciting planned for early this morning, having enjoyed a lie in and then put a wash on whilst sucking back my first coffee of the day. Then a couple of caches got published. Taking a look at them, I figured "nah" as I knew locals would have a much better chance than I to get the FTF. But then I got a phone call that basically acted as the catalyst for a great day indeed.
Grabbed my flatmate, and headed out the door to go and pick up the catalyst caller before heading up to look for them. Having done that, and whilst waiting for another couple of our Puzzlers group to arrive, we decided to fill in the time by looking for a couple of other caches in the area including this one.
It's actually been almost 3 years since I was last here. At that time I only did the first Smurf and have been meaning to come back and find some more. GZ. A quick and easy find at GZ, once I'd avoided the blackberry which tends to be one of the many banes of geocaching.
No issues with the cache, which soon had 4 new names in it,
Thanks for putting it out, and helping to make my day brighter.

I came out with TwigNZ and NZ_B for a bout of FTFing. Met up with TrinityNZ there but we find we missed the empty log. And then we hear that some friends are coming too, so while we wait we head to a couple of nearby smurf caches. No problems here.
Somehow, I found myself out this way on a Wednesday night, as often seems to happen in the life of a geocacher. It was dark. I had used public transport to get here, and so would be using public transport to get home and I was aware that they stopped running at some point, but that was a problem for future me. Oh well, while I'm here I may as well find a few caches. So I did, and this was one of them.
My tree identification skills are not great, but fortunately there were limited options here so cache was soon in hand.
Thanks to the CO for enticing me to this place with the lure of a geocache.

Easy to spot but harder to get to. Beware the vicious blackberry! All good at GZ and TFTC.

Had to watch out for the blackberry bush thorns, but managed to reach it without any bad scratches, TFTC
After waiting for muggles to pass we made a quick find here. So the log book has been signed and the cache is nicely back in its spot. Thanks heaps for taking the time to set up this geocache. Once again... I appreciate your efforts in doing so. TFTC
Enjoying a bike ride through QE park on a beautifully fine sunny, calm winter's day. It looked rather overgrown in there, but pleased it was an easy reach in the end. Thanks for your trail Flowerydaze.
Viper Junior saw something way deep into some nasty stuff, thought he was going to have to crawl to his doom, then spotted cache much easier.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Had to stomp on a few brambles to get this one, but great hint meant a quick find.

Yay, a cache with a hint that tells me exactly what I'm looking for! Very quick find and sign (keeping an eye out for bikers all the while). All good, tftc!
Had to be sneaky and quick with this one- found sitting in tree. Not obvious from path though. Gorgeous day so lots of people out!
Lovely Day to put some miles into the training and bruises to the shins with Dianne and Kimmy+co
First time out in the Queen Elizabeth Park, will need to come back to venture more in this wonderland

It was found despite encroaching blackberry...
Ouch.

Decided today was a lovely day to try out the Smurf Trail. It wasn't quite what we were expecting, but a lovely walk none the less. We start out at the North end. Wasn't expecting as much bush bashing as we had to do, but found them all eventually. Lots of blackberries along the way gave the kids sustenance. Thanks for the cache and walk. Did with Mycro Man, Ezratar, Astro Hunter and Violet Butterfly
The container wasn't quite where I was expecting, but I soon found it. A great day to be out enjoying the sunshine. TFTC
Looks like this cache has come to grief, maintenance required. I'll check it out today.
A new container has been installed, tucked at the back of the hint object. So all good to go. Thanks gely57 for the temporary container - I'll return it at the next event.
I managed to retrieve the log and write down the find, but the cache seems to have been crushed or hit by something. Luckily the log was off to the side. I popped it all into a bundle for when you come and replace the cache.
Got to the GZ and horrors the cache container had been shredded by a grass cutter. I took the opportunity to place a temporary replacement container and a log sheet torn rom the train timetable! The replace container is a green bullet hanging at adult eye level in the tree.
What is it with Muggles today? everytime I am at GZ one appears, so I just had to keep on walking, and turn around when they had passed out of eyeshot. Tutned around, and was recorded with a QEF, to complete my wonders of the world series. TFTC!
Cache # 4,872 - last one of the day for me, Astro Hunter, Violet Butterfly and Geo-Kelpie. This one was a quick find. A bit of moisture inside the cache, but nothing serious, and only in the outer container. TNLNSL. TFTC!
Found today with The Wandering Dragons and Astro Hunter (and the dog). All good, and saw a hawk or eagle flying nearby! Thanks.
Cache # 1,582
Cache # 1,582
Found with Mother and Pup. Again I was grateful for mothers plant identification abilities. I stayed on the track while mother bravely entered GZ. Some more muggle dogs came by to greet our Pup - mother exercised great stealth as she skulked in the nearby bush, then blew her cover by exclaiming "Oh I found it!" TFTC
We decided on a bit of a break from the farm and headed here to enjoy a little walk and to get some caches for the latest souvenir challenge.
It was such a beautiful day today. There were some muggles coming and going which we had to be mindful of, but not too bad at all.
Mr rattll had gone to drive the car around to the other end of this trail so Mrs rattll was on her own.
No problems here despite not knowing what specifically the clue referred to.
Thanks for putting this here for me to find Flowerydaze.

Down for a bike ride along this track to find some caches before the rain. Thanks Flowerydaze for the cache.
The easiest of the lot!
We decided to come for a mini holiday and at the same time help out NZ tourist industry so we came down to Paekakariki for a few days staying at the local motel which is very pleasant and run by friendly and helpful hosts with a lovely generous meal last night.
While husband did the 4hour Escarpment walk i looked around for a few other caches ( having done quite a few along there already) and a drive up to Raumati with a chance to catch up with old teachers Coll. friend also seemed the best idea.
so i set off along this walkway , wishing i had my bike!, and completed 5 caches before turning around and heading back .
All needed that second thorough look but all were in good condition and duly signed and replaced.
thank you for this mini trail of smurf caches.

This cache had the potential to be a problem as neither I or my companion knew anything about the hint item. However, my GPSr led me somewhere promising and I made an instant find. I am unsure if such a long reach was needed (not a problem for me) but I thought it safer to return the container exactly how I found it.
out and about on my mt bike today and enjoyed it through here as i have been cycling in the hills above Upper hutt
many thanks
Loved the Smurf trail

Loved the Smurf trail
One of seven caches located today during a bike ride through Queen Elizabeth Park. This was the third in the Smurf series. Took a little while before we found this one. It was Mrs tbird who eventually came up with the goods. #3162. TFTC.
Called here with Mrs agcnz on a very warm afternoon on a walk to get 6 unfound caches along this path. A quick find here with good accurate coordinates and a good hint. Signed log, TFTC
Another enjoyable smurf find as I head home along the shared trail. Thanks for the caches that make me smile.
Quick find. Have swapped items and put a bit of Christmas in the cache. Merry Christmas!
Went for a smallish geocaching trip through Queen Elizabeth Park after the school run. Turned out to be a horrible day for hay fever so my intended run turned into a sneezing ans spluttering stumble to tick of a few caches.
A nice and easy find as I worked my way along the trail.

I do like these smurf containers. I'm not sure they are practical but they do raise a smile.
GZ was obvious from some distance -only one eligible site, and the spring vegetation is starting to look a bit battered.
I had passed the same strolling muggle three times by now as I stopped for each cache, so she wondered whether I wasn't very fit and had to keep stopping. So explained that I was "looking for treasure" and took her on a tour of the Garmin (64s) to show her how geocaching worked. She was quite fascinated, especially when I told her how many caches there were in Queen Elizabeth Park and NZ Aotearoa. We may even have a new local cacher!

Stopped for this one on the way back from Paekakariki. The annual weeds are rapidly engulfing the site but reaching over found the cache in its place.

#11,469. Returned to explore a bit further on Te Ara o Whareroa Trail in Queen Elizabeth Park, Paraparaumu. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
